• Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (pictured above) is the Congressman credited with initiating the $22 million pentagon UFO research program, the ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’ in 2007. So he’s had an interest in the UFO topic for a long time. In the documentary titled “The Phenomenon,” Reid said that UFOs and potential alien activity have been covered up by the government for years. “Why the federal government all these years has covered up, put brake pads on everything, stopped it, I think it’s very, very bad for our country,” Reid says.
• When asked again about UFOs in a recent interview, Reid said, “Do we have all the answers? Absolutely not. But at least we know that thousands of people have reported these unusual occurrences over the decades. And as I have said, we cannot ignore what’s going on. Russia, China and France are all working on this. And I hope that we will pick up the ball and continue to work on this.”
• Regarding video footage taken of UFOs engaging with US Navy aircraft pilots, flying around 30,000 feet in the air at hypersonic speeds and showing no visible engines or exhaust plumes, Reid said, “I’m happy that the Pentagon now allows its pilots to report these unusual occurrences. In the past, pilots have been afraid to acknowledge them because it could hurt their promotions. So I think the federal government is doing better at recognizing it’s something we have to stay on top of. And we have better cameras now with the aircraft, and we’ve got pictures we didn’t have before.”
• Earlier this year, the Pentagon announced the formation of a new UAP Task Force to study UFOs after the military acknowledged that pilots were encountering aircraft that might not have been made by humans. Leaked photos recently posted by The Debrief, showing a metallic object hovering 35,000 over the Atlantic Ocean, off the eastern coast of the United States in 2018 were reportedly studied by the task force. The aircraft was an “unidentified silver cube-shaped object”. They suggested that the craft could be “non-human,” “alien” or other “intelligences of unknown origin.”
• As reported in December, retired Israeli general Haim Eshed claimed that the United States and Israeli governments have been in contact with extraterrestrials for many years, but have not revealed this information to the public because they feel that the average citizen is not ready to know.
In a new documentary titled “The Phenomenon,” Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that UFOs and
potential alien activity have been covered up by the government for years.
“Why the federal government all these years has covered up, put brake pads on everything, stopped it, I think it’s very, very bad for our country,” Reid said in the documentary.
The former Senate majority leader has taken an interest in the topic for a long time and even obtained $22 million in taxpayer dollars to study UFOs through the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program while he was in office.
In a recent interview responding to questions about his belief in UFOs, Reid said, “Do we have all the answers? Absolutely not. But at least we know that thousands of people have reported these unusual occurrences over the decades. And as I have said, we cannot ignore what’s going on. Russia, China and France are all working on this. And I hope that we will pick up the ball and continue to work on this.”
He also commented on the footage that was taken of UFOs engaging with US Navy aircraft pilots.
In the footage, the objects are flying around 30,000 feet in the air at hypersonic speeds and showing no visible engines or exhaust plumes typical of any known aircraft currently on Earth.
“I’m happy that the Pentagon now allows its pilots to report these unusual occurrences. In the past, pilots have been afraid to acknowledge them because it could hurt their promotions. So I think the federal government is doing better at recognizing it’s something we have to stay on top of. And we have better cameras now with the aircraft, and we’ve got pictures we didn’t have before,” Reid said.

• In 2017, an Ohio man referred to only as “Joe” was on his way home from the 3rd shift at his job in Garrettsville when he noticed strange lights above a field. He stopped to try and take a few photos on his flip phone to show his wife. Joe captured lights from what he identified as two distinct aircraft (pictured above). He recalls being mesmerized as the two craft seemed to signal to each other by the use of the lights which blinked alternately to each other, as if communicating. When a third larger craft appeared between the two, Joe felt the need to leave. “I wanted to get out of there — it was getting too crowded,” he joked.
• About a year later, driving through the same area, Joe noticed some intense lights in a wooded area in distance. “They appeared to be looking for something,” he said. He stopped his truck to get a better look. From the distance, he thought he spotted figures. Once again, he tried to capture photos on his flip phone. A bright light illuminated the inside of his truck, and made him cover his eyes. But he managed to fire off a series of photos on his phone (to be revealed in part two of Joe’s story). The photos show the intense movement of a charm that hung from the rear view mirror, even though his truck was parked. But Joe noted that he wasn’t afraid, and didn’t feel like he was in danger. He showed the photos to his friends and family on the tiny screen of his flip phone, but after a time, he forgot about them.
• It wasn’t until he began the task of deleting old photos and contacts from his trusty flip phone about a year ago that he came across those photos again. When he and his wife downloaded the photos to a computer to get a closer look, they were astonished at what they saw in the background… to be continued.
• According to the Mutual UFO Network, or ‘MUFON’, UFOs have been investigated over the years by governments, independent groups, and scientists. The mystery surrounding UFOs has historical roots in the early 19th century when unexplained “ghost fliers” were spotted in Europe and North America. During the 1930s, numerous “ghost rockets” were reported in Scandinavia.
• During the Second World War, airmen reported seeing “mystery airships” or “foo fighters” while in flight. After the war in 1947, aviator Kenneth Arnold reported spotting a “flying saucer” near Mt. Rainier, Washington, bringing the concept of flying saucers to the public forefront during late 1940s and early 1950s. During the Cold War, US, British, Canadian, Danish, Italian, and Swedish governments all collected reports of UFO sightings. Although the US government says it officially shut down its $22 million UFO study program, the ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’, in 2012, the Pentagon recently announced launching a new ‘UAP Task Force’.
• Organizations around the world continue to collect information from amateur astronomers and regular folks who happened to be in the right place at the right time to view an unexplained event in the sky. The National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), documented nearly 3,000 sightings reported in Ohio in 2020 alone. In fact, the organization listed Ohio in the top five states for reported UFO sightings, after California, Pennsylvania, Missouri, and Florida.
At the close of this year, even the most positive among us has had trouble dealing with 2020. With a global pandemic changing the way we live, political upheaval, racial divides, and an election fraught with venom and strife, even the threat of murder hornets don’t faze us after all that 2020 has dumped on our doorsteps. So learning about how a local man’s experiences point to the fact that we’re not alone in the universe may just be the icing on the cake of the year that made us question every other area of our lives.
You may be surprised to learn that the subject has a name — UFOlogy, which is noted as the array of subject matter and activities associated with an interest in unidentified flying objects (UFOs). According to the Mutual UFO Network (mufon.com), UFOs have been subject to various investigations over the years by governments, independent groups, and scientists. The non-profit 501-C.3 organization that was founded in 1969 notes that the mystery surrounding UFOs has historical roots in the early 19th century when unexplained “ghost fliers” were spotted in Europe and North America and numerous “ghost rockets” were reported in Scandinavia during the 1930s.
During the Second World War, Allied airmen reported seeing “mystery airships” or “foo fighters” while in flight. After the War ended, aviator Kenneth Arnold reported spotting a “flying saucer” near Mt. Rainier, Washington in 1947. Media hype following this report brought the concept of flying saucers to the forefront of the public eye during late 1940s and early 1950s as a result. During the Cold War, US, British, Canadian, Danish, Italian, and Swedish governments have each collected reports of UFO sightings, although most governmental programs have been officially reported to be shut down as recently as 2012, although US Defense Department allocated $22 million on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program in 2017.
Organizations around the world continue to collect information from amateur astronomers and regular folks who happened to be in the right place at the right time to view an unexplained event in the sky. One such US organization, the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), documented that nearly 3,000 sightings were reported in Ohio in 2020 alone (nuforc.org). In fact, the organization’s information compiled in 2018 listed Ohio in the top five states for reported UFO sightings (after California, Pennsylvania, Missouri, and Florida.) READ ENTIRE ARTICLE

• 2020 has been quite possibly the strangest year on record. From the COVID pandemic, to the bizarre BLM riots in the streets, to the controversial US elections – the world has never seen anything quite like 2020. And to top it off, UFO sightings are way up.
• Sightings of UFOs in New York City this year have gone up by 31 per cent from 2019. This year, 46 UFOs were spotted over the city, compared to 35 such sightings in 2019. That’s a jump of 283% according to data from the National UFO Reporting Center.
• The New York Post reported that on July 21, 2020, a Staten Islander saw an “oval” aircraft which sounded like a helicopter. However, the witness claimed that it unleashed a surge of radiation in his body. “[H]onestly thought it was the government putting something into the air with everything going on during these times, and I thought I would wake up and find it all over the news or on Instagram,” said the witness.
• On June 8th, a Bronx resident reported 30 objects flying in perfect synchronicity across the night skies, resembling stars in movements. Observers tend to not identify themselves. National UFO Reporting Center director Peter Davenport has no doubt observers are seeing what they’re seeing. “I believe we are being visited routinely by these things we call UFOs,” Davenport told The Post, adding he has had “five sighting experiences.”
• Asked why outer-space types would want any part of our crazy world, Davenport said, “You are going to have to talk to the aliens. I do not know what these creatures are up to. What their objective might be in being here.”
2020 has been quite possibly the strangest year on record.
From the mysterious COVID pandemic and the tremendous toll on human life and economic destruction, to the draconian lockdowns, which are
paralyzing the mental health of Americans and the entire world, to the bizarre violent communist BLM riots in the streets, to the controversial US elections; the world has never seen anything quite like 2020, and to top it off, UFO sightings are up.
Sightings of UFOs or Unidentified Flying Objects in NYC this year have gone up by 31 per cent from 2019. This year, 46 such objects were spotted in the glitzy skies of the city, compared to 35 such sightings in 2019.
Compared to 2018’s number, the 2020 sightings have jumped by 283 per cent, according to data from the National UFO Reporting Center.

Article by Jesse Marcel III, Denice Marcel and John Marcel December 7, 2020 (newsweek.com)
• In 1947, our grandfather, Major Jesse Marcel (pictured above), was an intelligence officer stationed at the 509th US Army Bomb Group in Roswell, New Mexico, at the time the only atomic bomb unit in the world. In July of that year, a mysterious crash occurred in the desert outside Roswell that would change our father’s (Major Marcel’s son, Jesse Marcel Jr.) life, and our family’s lives, forever.
• The officer in charge of the 509th, Colonel William H. Blanchard, chose Major Jesse Marcel to investigate the crash site near Roswell and to report back. What Major Marcel found was remarkable, and he believed that the craft that had crashed was not made by human hands. We, Major Marcel’s grandchildren, were told growing up that he had broken protocol and a few orders by packing up some of the debris to share with his son and wife, our father and grandmother. As he shared these illicit pieces of crash material with his family members, our dad recalls grandpa saying that they were looking at “pieces of a flying saucer.”
• Dad would talk about seeing, as a 10 year old kid, foil sheets that were incredibly strong yet light as a feather, and other details of that night. He described small structural beams from the craft with hieroglyphic-looking writing that would appear when you looked at them at an angle. Roswell researchers Thomas J. Carey and Donald R. Schmidt spoke to eyewitnesses who also saw foil-like material that would return to its original shape no matter how much you twisted or tried to wrinkle it.
• On summer trips to visit our grandfather in Louisiana, grandpa would add to the story. He told us that he had also seen glass-like fiber optic materials strewn throughout the debris, and even what appeared to be an animal hit by the craft when it crashed. He described how it took five or six large cargo trucks to transport all the debris back to the base. But grandpa was still very guarded when it came to telling us too much. We could see that he was conflicted between the need to expose the entire story and the need to honor his military oath.
• As a (US Navy) military family in the early 1970s, we moved to wherever our father, Jesse Marcel Jr., was stationed – from the Great Lakes of Michigan to the rural town of Clancy, Montana. Our father educated us in everything from physics to astronomy. When not in school, we would stand side-by-side with dad working on one of his many projects. One such project was to grind thick plates of glass into a parabola shaped mirrors for a telescope he was building in the backyard. We would spend awe-filled nights looking at the sky, the rings around Saturn or the moons of Jupiter, through that telescope. When we were peering through his telescope, dad would say that we humans are not alone in the universe and there was a chance that extraterrestrial beings could be looking right back at us.
• While our father, Jesse Marcel Jr., had been silent for decades (before his passing in 2013), people never stopped asking where the debris ended up, or whether our grandfather had kept a memento. We, his children, found a diary amongst his things which had not been shared with the public. The contents of the diary were finally shared in a History Channel three-part series: “Roswell: The First Witness”, which premiered on December 12th.
• Our family is not surprised about the continued interest in Roswell given the inconsistencies in the early explanations shared by the government, along with a number of witness testimonies. Although the US Air Force stated in the 1990s that there was no “cover-up”, but that the object that crashed was a top secret balloon that was part of Project Mogul, designed to monitor Soviet nuclear testing. Still, there are many who believe it is still an unsolved “UFO” mystery.
• Grandpa considered himself lucky to have been the right person at the right place at the right time, even though it came at the cost of exposing our family to the world. With the actions that Major Jesse Marcel took both at the time of the incident and leading up to his death, we believe he showed that he well understood the extraordinary uniqueness of the event. Today, it is widely accepted that we are not alone in the universe, whatever that truly means. Incidents like the 1947 Roswell incident have inspired scientists, astronauts, and even a few grandchildren to look into the sky with hopes of someday meeting our celestial family. Grandpa would be pleased.
Our grandfather, Major Jesse Marcel, was a decorated intelligence officer in 1947 stationed at the 509th Bomb group, at the time the only atomic bomb unit in the entire world. He played an integral role in planning the group’s nuclear strike sorties over Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, and had an illustrious career guarding some of the most important secrets of the Second World War.
In early July of that year, a mysterious crash occurred in the desert outside Roswell, New Mexico and he was chosen to investigate the crash site and report back to his superior, Colonel William H. Blanchard. What he found was remarkable, and he believed that what he was examining was not made by human hands. We were told growing up that he broke protocol and a few orders by packing up some of the debris to share with his son and wife, our father and grandmother, before returning to the army base. This was an event that would change our father’s life, and our own, forever. As they were examining the material, our dad clearly recalls grandpa saying that they were looking at “pieces of a flying saucer.”
Dad would share with us many more details of that night, often at dinner time with Star Trek playing in the background for effect. He would talk about seeing foil sheets that were incredibly strong yet light as a feather. He would further describe beams with hieroglyphic looking writing that he claimed would appear if you looked at them at an angle.
In their book Witness To Roswell, Thomas J. Carey and Donald R. Schmidt spoke to eyewitnesses who said
that they saw “metal” material, like that described by our father, that returned to its original shape no matter how much you twisted or tried to put a wrinkle in it.
On summer trips to visit our grandfather in Louisiana, he would add to the story. He told us that he had seen glass-like fiber optic materials strewn throughout the debris in the field and even what appeared to be an animal hit by the craft that had crashed. He would describe how it took five to six large 2.5 ton 6×6 cargo trucks to transport all the debris back to the base.
As we grew older, Grandpa would share more of the story with us but was still very guarded when it came to telling us too much, maybe out of concern that information that haunted him would come back to haunt us. We could see on his face that he was conflicted between the need to expose the entire story as he saw it and the need to honor the oath he had taken to his country. We would try to get him to tell us more, but with a career in intelligence, he knew how to record and keep a secret.

• On October 31st, Tash Minto and Tony Waterhouse were driving on the highway approaching the area of the Stonehenge in southwestern England when they noticed the flat circular disk of white light. The gigantic glowing UFO seemed to be hovering above Stonehenge. Tash pulled out her phone and filmed it. (see 1:22 minute video below)
• The video shows the glowing orange shape and it appears to be stationary. Tash carried on filming until the object mysteriously “disappeared”. “It came out of nowhere and just as quickly was gone again,” Tash said.
• Tash and Tony have tried to explain the sight, with suggestions ranging from drones, a prank, and even the Moon. They haven’t ruled out aliens. “Tony kept mentioning it was like the X-Files and I told him to stop because it just didn’t feel natural,” Tash said. “[T]his didn’t seem to come from anything like the Sun or the Moon, it felt like it was coming from something artificial.”
• “Tony said it was definitely little green men,” said Tash. “Personally I think, if they are out there, they won’t be very little. I think they’ll be giants.”
• Conspiracy theorists have long-claimed the huge slabs of rock at Stonehenge, which weigh around 50 tons each, could only have been moved by extraterrestrials.
A gigantic glowing UFO has been caught on camera hovering above Stonehenge – prompting one witness to claim it belongs to “little green men”.
Tash Minto and her partner Tony Waterhouse were driving on the A303 just outside Mere, Wiltshire, on October 31 when they noticed the flat circular disk of white light.
It was hovering in the direction of Stonehenge and Tash, 31, quickly took out her phone to film the unusual sight.
The video shows the shape glowing orange and it appears to be stationary.
They carried on filming until the object mysteriously “disappeared”. “It came out of nowhere and just as quickly was gone again,” Tash later said.
The marketer and Tony, 36, have desperately tried to explain away the sight, with suggestions ranging from drones, a prank and even the moon.
But they haven’t ruled out aliens being to blame.

• On September 1, 2020, preparing to land a Boeing 737 packed with passengers at the Leeds Bradford airport in northern England, the jet’s two pilots “suddenly saw a bright light and an object which appeared to be moving toward the aircraft, almost head on, slightly up and to the left” according to the Airprox report. Witnesses say the UFO came within ten feet of colliding with the commercial flight arriving from Spain.
• The incident was rated a ‘Category A’ event by the UK Airprox Board – which monitors and investigates near-miss aerial events. “The object appeared without warning and there was no time to act,” said the report. After landing, the pilots were told that a police helicopter had seen lanterns flying in the area. But the report stated that “Neither of the pilots believed what they saw was a lantern.” Investigators ruled that “a definite risk of collision had existed”.
• The near miss in Leeds came three days before a drone came three feet away from striking an Easyjet Airbus A320 which had taken off from Manchester Airport carrying 186 passengers. At 8,000ft over Greater Manchester, the ‘drone’ would have been flying 20 times above the legal height. There have been more than 400 reported incidents in the past five years.
A UFO came within seconds of colliding with a passenger jet in a terrifying close call.
The rogue object came at the packed Boeing 737 plane “almost head on” as pilots prepared to land at Leeds Bradford airport.
The scare on September 1 was rated a ‘Category A’ event by the UK Airprox Board – which monitors and investigates near-miss events.
The unidentifiable object – which could have been a drone or lantern – was just 10 feet away from the flight arriving from Spain.
The Airprox report revealed: “Both pilots suddenly saw a bright light and an object which appeared to be moving toward the aircraft, almost head on, slightly up and to the left.
“The object appeared without warning and there was no time to act.”
After landing, the pilots were told that a police helicopter had seen lanterns flying in the area.
But the report added: “Neither of the pilots believed what they saw was a lantern.”

Article by David MacQuarrie November 10, 2020 (dronedj.com)
• In 1938, actor/ director Orson Welles frightened listeners with his Halloween prank radio broadcast of a Martian invasion in War of the Worlds. For years after that, the skies remained more or less clear of extraterrestrial menace. Then in 1947, pilot Kenneth Arnold says he spotted flying objects skipping like saucers over the Cascade Mountain Range near Seattle. This time there was no Orson Welles to blame it on. UFOs became part of the cultural landscape. When we see lights in the sky, they’re usually blamed on the planet Venus, aircraft, oddball reflections or swamp gas (uh, swamp gas?) Still, there is a minority of reports that defy easy explanation.
• Drones have become the go-to explanation for any mysterious lights in the sky. This month, people were startled to see mysterious lights in the skies over Milwaukee, Wisconsin. But they turned out to be drones practicing for a Christmas Pageant light show over a festival park. People in New Jersey reporting a UFO were told it was a police drone. Factories in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, China have filled the skies with hundreds of thousands drones.
• “A significant amount of UFOs that we investigate are hobby drones,” said Ken Jordan, Texas’ chief of investigations for the international Mutual UFO Network. A high-flying aircraft moving at impossible speeds can be mistaken for a low-flying drone puttering along at 20 k/h. Acrobatics that seem to defy the laws of physics are now on routine display at drone airshows, no extraterrestrial technology needed.
• Even when the New York Times published US Navy videos of strange objects flying off the East Coast of the US, the Navy pilots assumed they were drones. They didn’t especially look like drones, but really what else could they be? Perhaps the mothership is parked ominously just behind the Moon and is sending its vile horde of drone-shaped legions toward our unsuspecting planet. Perhaps we should be vigilant like the character Ned Scott in The Thing from Another World: “Keep watching the skies”. But if you do see something up there, it’s probably just a drone.
This month, mysterious lights startled some people looking to the skies in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Readers of this
website will already know there is no mystery; the UFO lights at Maier Festival Park were just drones practicing for a Christmas Pageant light show.
But there’s a long history of alarming lights in the sky and earthlings assuming it just can’t be good.
Actor/ Director Orson Welles frightened many listeners in 1938 with his Halloween prank radio broadcast of War of the Worlds. It’s controversial just how many people actually feared Martian invasion. But a lot of listeners felt silly once the hoax was revealed, and CBS fought at least one lawsuit. For years after that, the skies remained more or less clear of extraterrestrial menace.
Until 1947. That’s when pilot Kenneth Arnold says he spotted flying objects skipping like saucers over the Cascade Range near Seattle. This time there was no Orson Welles to ‘fess up. UFOs were with us and became part of the cultural landscape.
Most turn out to be sightings of the planet Venus, aircraft, oddball reflections or swamp gas. (Really? Who’s fooled by swamp gas?)
Still, there was always a tiny minority of reports that defied easy explanation.

Article by Ryan November 6, 2020 (topsecretwriters.com)
• In 2008, Robert L. Hastings published his book entitled: UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites, detailing the shutdown of ten nuclear missiles at the “Oscar-Flight” control center underground silos at Malmstrom Air Force Base near Great Falls, Montana on the morning of March 16, 1Post967. The same thing reportedly happened that same day at Echo-Launch missile control center twenty miles away.
• Hastings took most of his information from former Lieutenant Robert Salas, who was the Oscar Flight Launch control center commander at the time. Salas claimed that base security patrols on the surface above him phoned to report seeing UFOs hovering above one of the E-Flight silos at the Air Force base. Then an alarm sounded indicating that one of the Minuteman missiles had become ‘inoperable’. Then nine more missiles at Oscar Flight went inoperable as well.
• Salas acknowledged that members of the Echo-Flight missile and maintenance crew included Captain Eric Carlson and First Lieutenant Walt Figel. Salas indicated that they had also seen the UFOs directly above their base.
• James Carlson is the son of Captain Eric Carlson who was a maintenance officer at Echo-Flight. James Carlson contends that while ten of the Malmstrom missiles did shut down that day, both his father and retired Colonel Walt Figel denied seeing any UFOs. Hastings responded by saying that James’ father simply didn’t tell him the truth, and that James had never spoken with Figel at all. James Carlson responded to Hastings’ accusation by providing uncontroverted evidence of his correspondence with Figel. And James insisted that his father, Eric Carlson, “never lied to (him) about anything”. James Carlson states: “I can say with complete confidence today that both Robert Hastings and Robert Salas have knowingly mislead their entire audience into believing a lie they were well aware of in order to sell their books.”
• In his documented conversation with Walt Figel, James Carlson related that Figel had read Hasting’s book and he told the authors that “there are many inaccurate statements and events in the books”. He goes so far as to say that Salas was never involved with the Echo Flight, and that neither Echo-Flight nor Oscar-Flight at Malmstrom ever had any UFO incident “or any other equipment failures”. Figel confirmed that he doesn’t believe in UFOs, has no interest in Ufology, and he is not a fan of Salas, Hastings or the “whole UFO crowd”.
• James Carlson says that Hasting’s primary source for the UFOs over Echo-Flight base, according to Hasting’s own statements – is Walt Figel – and that Figel’s assertions are proof that Eric Carlson has lied about this event. James calls Hastings and Salas out accusing them of making knowingly false statements. James Carlson stated publicly that Hastings has said ‘over and over again’ that James’ assertions are lies, and that Hastings can easily prove this. And yet, Hastings has produced nothing to dispute James’ father Eric and Walt Figel’s account denying any UFO interference at Malmstrom.
• Walt Figel recalls that after the first missile silo shut down, he and Eric Carlson were ran maintenance checklists when the second missile shut down. Shortly thereafter, the other eight missiles shut down as well. Figel said that there was no “large gathering” of people on site that morning. No one from any UFO office in the Air Force ever interviewed or debriefed him or Eric Carlson. In fact, Figel said he didn’t even know that the Air Force had a UFO office that monitored “UFO sightings”. Back then, whenever someone mentioned UFOs, Figel just laughed it off as a joke.
• Then James Colson turned to his father, Eric Carlson’s account of the incident. “[T]here is no doubt in my mind that there were no reports of UFO’s and no incident at Oscar flight,” said Eric Carlson. “The report that we had lost ten missiles is accurate. It was not uncommon to lose one missile or even two to no-go status. It was unheard of to lose all ten.” Eric said that Figel never spoke to a security guard above them on the surface who told them about hovering UFOs, as Salas claims. And neither Carlson nor Figel were “visibly shaken” as Salas claims.
• Eric Carlson says that the “voice reporting system did report a guidance and control system malfunction”. But subsequent investigations by Boeing engineers turned up no explanation for what could have caused the shutdown, and some speculated that only a high-energy electromagnetic pulse could have entered the shielded system to cause the failure.
• Since the USAF frowned upon the reporting or even internal acknowledgement of UFO events or sightings, could it be that Air Force personnel would not provide an accurate accounting? “I never felt constrained in any way regarding reporting any unusual activities around missile sites,” said Eric Carlson. “In fact, I believe we were encouraged to report unusual incidents or events.”
• “The crew members of the 10th SMS were a tight group,” said Eric Carlson. “We were the first minuteman squadron activated and did a lot together. …At no time were UFOs mentioned to me.” Hastings has publicly questioned Eric Carlson’s memory, and stated that Eric Carlson told Hastings that his son, James, has suffered with “severe mental problems that have worried my family”, implying that James cannot be trusted. James says that he is “seriously considering a lawsuit directed at Robert Hastings for slander and defamation of character”.
According to Ufology researcher/writer Robert Hastings, on March 16, 1967, the appearance of UFOs at Echo-Flight nuclear missile facility allegedly shut down the missile silo. Robert Hasting’s information came from a man named Robert Salas who claimed he had witnessed the event.
Background of the Malmstrom AFB Missile/UFO Case
The son of one of the officers who was involved in the Echo flight incident, named James Carlson, took Hastings and Salas to task for those claims. Carlson contends that both his father and retired Col. Walt Figel, the other officer involved in the incident, both reported that there were no UFOs.
Hastings denied that James was ever in touch with the second witness, Col. Walt Figel. James Carlson provided us with records of his correspondence with Figel, which proved that Figel actually confirmed James Carlson’s interpretation of how the event actually occurred.
In March of 2010, James Carlson wrote:
Robert Hastings has made much of the fact that I have refused to interview his witness, Col. (Ret.) Walter Figel, Jr., regarding his recollections of the Echo Flight Incident on March 16, 1967.
I have, in fact, contacted Col. Figel, but didn’t feel that it would be very ethical to discuss in detail the event he recalls without securing first his complete cooperation, authority, and permission to do so. Having secured that this very evening, I am now prepared to discuss the matter in full. I can also add, very strongly, that my father never lied to me about anything, as Hastings claims, and that his recollections match exactly those of Col. Figel’s. I’ve “slandered and libeled” nobody, and I can say with complete confidence today that both Robert Hastings and Robert Salas have knowingly mislead their entire audience into believing a lie they were well aware of in order to sell their books.
James reported that Col Figel reported:
1. Col. Figel does not believe UFOs were “even remotely associated with the Echo Flight Incident, or any other equipment failures at Malmstrom.”
2. Col. Figel confirmed that he has no interest in Ufology and is not a fan of the UFO crowd.
3. Figel stated, “I have read both of their books. There are many inaccurate statements and events in the books. I have told them both that.”
4. He also stated that Salas was “never involved in any of them (the flights) at all.
The Figel Communications
In August of 2010, James learned that there were rumors floating about that his communications with Figel had never taken place. To set the record straight, James Carlson wrote the following commentary in a post on RealityUncovered (a now defunct UFO forum):
“I’ve discovered that there a lot of people out in the world who are convinced that I have not had any discussions with COL.(Ret.) Walter Figel, Jr., […] This is patently untrue and can be easily shown as such. Robert Hastings has knowingly published versions of this event that he has been told are false by both my father and Walt Figel, and his claims to the contrary are little more than silly attacks that are intended to delay the ruination of his and Robert Salas’ Echo Flight claims until after his pathetic little dog and pony show at the National Press Club in Washington, DC next month. The fact that he would do so at the expense of another man’s reputation doesn’t surprise me.
This back and forth between Hastings and Carlson set off a firestorm of debate on UFO forums at the time. Either Figel denied claims made by Hastings about the Malmstrom AFB UFO incident, or he didn’t.
Debate and drama aside, this was the one issue that needed to be confirmed or denied — because such a source denying Hastings claims cast doubt upon all of the rest of the claims about the incident.

• Lee Strydom has been the Mutual UFO Network’s representative South Africa for the past six years. Most sightings that are reported to him are easily explained away, such as hovering drones, weather balloons, ball lightning, and Chinese lanterns. “It’s difficult when you have got sightings where somebody will send you a report and they will say ‘Hey Man, I saw a light in the sky’,” says Strydom. Then, there are the hoaxes where pranksters throw dinner plates in the air, photograph them and claim they are extraterrestrial vehicles. Once somebody reported seeing the cartoon character Sponge Bob Square pants running around their garden.
• On the odd occasion, Strydom receives a report where he can’t find a scientific answer and sometimes it is just a hunch that something truly unexplained happened. This happened with a couple who reported an incident in the Northern Cape. Something strange had blotted out the stars over Pinetown. Where the stars should have been on this clear night was a large black triangle shaped craft, perhaps three to four football fields in size. The man ran to grab this cell phone, but by the time he returned, the craft was no longer there. Others in the town house complex had also seen the strange triangular object, but to Strydom’s frustration none of them would come forward. The witness happened to be a friend of Strydom’s. That night his friend changed from being a UFO non-believer to a believer.
• Flying black triangles spotted at night are not that uncommon in UFO case files. For decades there have been reports of them from across the world. There is a theory that these triangular craft could be a top secret US surveillance aircraft known as the TR-3A Black Manta.
• Strydom relates a report from a couple who were driving through a massive thunderstorm. “It was at night and it was raining and there was this massive black cloud above them,” said Strydom. “They passed this road sign that said X town was 15 kilometres away.” The couple continued driving through the storm for fifteen minutes. Suddenly the storm cleared and they were at the same road sign that marked that the town was 15 kilometres back. “So they hadn’t moved for 15 minutes, but they were driving. There was a time difference,” explains Strydom. “The way he told the story, and how petrified they were afterwards, in my opinion makes it real.” This suggests that Strydom believes in time travel. The problem is, like with many other sightings, Strydom has been unable to corroborate the event with other witnesses.
• Another sighting that Strydom investigated happened during a wedding in Israel. “A woman sent me footage from a wedding, where they noticed something in the sky. When you slow down the footage, you can make out a cigar shaped UFO, then 30 seconds later it was followed by Israeli air force jets,” said Strydom. That was a good sighting. There was video footage and several witnesses.
• But most UFO sightings aren’t like that. Strydom will continue sifting through those reports to find the one that will prove what Strydom knows: that aliens have been visiting for thousands of years. Strydom has long been a believer. He saw a UFO when he was a child and has been interested ever since. The MUFON organization that Strydom volunteers for has been investigating UFO sightings since 1969. It is the largest non profit organization of its kind in the world with representatives across the world and specialized teams that investigate possible physical evidence of extraterrestrial craft.
Something strange had blotted out the stars over Pinetown. Where the stars should have been on this clear night was a large black triangle shaped craft, perhaps three to four football fields in size.
The man who claimed to have seen this strange object ran into his townhouse complex to grab this cell phone and call his girlfriend.
But by the time he returned, the craft was no longer there. When something strange and unexplained is spotted in the sky, it is often Lee Strydom, the Mutual UFO Network SA representative who is called.
This was a good sighting and the witness, who happened to be a friend of Strydom’s, left him a message on his cellphone that night.
“When I got to work the next day, I had this message, he said that he saw something and it was coming in my direction,” Strydom explains, adding that his friend that night changed from being a non UFO believer to a believer.
Others in the town house complex had also seen the strange triangular object, but to Strydom’s frustration none of them wanted to be interviewed. Interestingly flying black triangles spotted at night are not that uncommon in UFO case files.
For decades there have been reports of them from across the world. Just this week someone reported to Mufon of sighting a large dark triangle craft in Penticton, British Columbia, in Canada.
There is even a theory as to what they are, and it has nothing to do with alien visitors. The suspicion is that these triangular craft could be a top secret US surveillance aircraft known as the TR-3A Black Manta.
The flying triangle sighting was an exception for Strydom, who has been the SA Mufon representative for six years. Most sightings that are reported to him are easily explained away.

• The UFO/UAP enigma presents a unique case in human history. Earth`s governments, religious organizations and scientific bodies seem to know no more about it than they did in the 1940s, even though they claim every now and then to launch an investigation only to close them on the grounds that nothing of value or substance has been found. What other unexplained multiple happenings taking place again and again during decades before millions of witnesses and often leaving material traces, in many countries, and yet remain a mystery?
• With the multiple statements from government-affiliated officials regarding their observations of vehicles and buildings on the Moon for which some provided photos and videos, and the persistent testimonies and visual proofs of US Navy jet close encounters with craft reportedly not from this Earth since 2004, reported on the New York Times and other major media and eventually confirmed by the US Navy and the Pentagon as being authentic, there is obviously something going on. The Pentagon has officially been monitoring UFOs at least since 2007 under a Congressionally funded program that still exists today. Recently retired high-ranking military and civilian Intelligence officers have devoted their lives and reputations to the disclosure of the UFO/UAP enigma. And more recently it was reported that the US legislators were informed that certain agencies and/or corporate entities are in possession of materials and substances of ‘non-terrestrial origin’ and not human-made.
• A number of high US ranking politicians and military officers have voiced publicly their awareness of the existence of UFOs after being briefed by scientists. But this public concern is only the latest in a very long series of official and public reports and statements that go back to the Second World War, if not much earlier. The lack of intellectual curiosity in the UFO phenomenon in modern times goes back to 1942 – the `battle over Los Angeles`; 1947 – the Roswell UFO crashes; and 1952 – the UFO fleets over the Capitol in Washington D.C. But behind the scenes, the UFO phenomenon has been a constant matter of concern at the highest levels of government and the military.
• The severely limited amount of unclassified data that has managed to see the light of day already proves without a doubt that there are advanced space-faring machines operated by superior forms of intelligent life, biological or `artificial`, circulating in our planetary environment. The US government has known about it for decades and has done all it could to deny or avoid officially recognizing it. Meanwhile, these craft enjoy complete freedom to operate in the atmosphere and under our oceans. These UAP craft frequently fly over army forts, navy bases, Air Force stations, ICBM silos, strategic defense headquarters, power plants, and even the residence of the US President. They sometimes jam the radars and command and control systems which is regarded as a technical impossibility by the system operators.
• The secrecy and cover up surrounding the UFO enigma has also rendered the scientific community inert, intimidated by the threat of losing their valued reputation within the scientific community by giving credit to the topic. Those who work on expensive mainstream projects looking for alien life in the cosmos tend to ignore any information provided by competent researchers and even military sources. They prefer the promise that some evidence of life on a remote planet will emerge in the next ten or twenty years.
• Rather than reveal to the public the truth, the powers that be still cling to an official denial of the very existence of the UFO phenomenon, which has seeped into our cultural norms, relegating it to a “fringe” topic. But in reality, governments have ascertained since the forties that there indeed are several `Alien` intelligent life forms in our ecosphere. They are so far ahead of our human species that we are entirely at their mercy. So profound a change this would make on our collective self-perception and our conceptions of the universe, life and mankind, the government felt it better to not reveal it to the people at large. Now they have hid it for so long that disregarding the legal requirement that the government should share relevant information with its citizens has become the norm.
• Perhaps some agreement was reached between the government and these Alien beings, with an exchange of knowledge and technology taking place for some good or service provided by the humans involved. Secrecy may have been a condition of the transaction in order to avoid unpredictable public interference. Multiple confirmed reports of human abductions by `Aliens`, sometimes supported by material evidence but apparently ignored by official authorities, over the last several decades, lend credence to the belief that governments are powerless to do anything about it or are complicit at some clandestine level.
• The evidence of an official policy of UFO secrecy cannot be ignored. Even the most garrulous high officials and heads of state have not made any positive statements about it. President Trump told his son in a television interview that he had learnt `some very interesting things` about what happened in Roswell, but declined to say what he knew. No person in a high position of any major country has stated in plain terms that he knows that UFOs are `extraterrestrial`, intelligently operated and pertain to a superior living system. All pronouncements in this connection are ambiguous, elusive and wrapped in doubt or humor. At their own peril, political leaders might say that they `believe in aliens” or that they have seen UFOS, but they will never affirm that there is evidence for their existence and `alien` nature. This is where the line is drawn between belief and awareness.
• In conclusion: The USA and some other major powers know a lot more than they let out on the matter of UFO/UAPs. They have evidently accumulated a lot of information and `know-how` since the end of the Second World War on this topic but have kept most of the world`s population in the dark while pretending every now and then to make efforts at investigating the mystery. Is this policy of denial and obfuscation masquerading as a lack of interest part of a larger plan? And who are the ‘unidentified insiders’ who are continually making these policy decisions, apparently keeping the ultimate secrets from heads of state and even the President of the United States?
A brief update on the matter of (so-called) Unidentified Aerial Phenomena which is now a regular feature in the major mainstream media is in order,. especially since it has been acknowledged by NASA that life appears to exists in the Venusian atmosphere and that it was in fact detected as far back as 1978.
No direct connection between this recognition, which follows decades of often acrimonious disputes about the presence of extraterrestrial microorganisms on meteorites the multiple statements from government-affiliated officials regarding their observations of vehicles and buildings on the Moon for which some provided photos and videos. and the persistent testimonies and visual proofs of US military close encounters with craft reportedly not from this earth since 2004, reported on the New York Times and other major print and audiovisual media and eventually confirmed by the US Navy and the Pentagon as being authentic (all those facts are documented in official documents and articles in major mainstream media, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, CNN, NBC, Fox News etc…).
The coming to light of the existence of the Congressionally funded AATIP (Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program at the behest of then Senate majority Leader Harry Reid between 2007 and 2012, the foundation of the TTSA (To the Stars Academy) with the participation of high-ranking recently retired military and civilian Intelligence officers and the subsequent acknowledgment by the Pentagon that it maintains a UFO monitoring desk k are only a few of the many milestones on the road to the public disclosure that, among other data:
1-There are very advanced space-faring machines operated by superior forms of intelligent life, biological or `artificial` circulating in our planetary environment and at least one Government, the US Government, knows about it since decades and has done all it could until recently to deny or at least avoid recognizing and publicizing it.
2-The official information now available is that those craft enjoy complete freedom to operate in the atmosphere and under our oceans, arguably because of the inability of governments to control them with any of the means currently available. The craft also land every now and then and can usually not be intercepted or stopped.
3-Some of those crafts frequently fly over army forts, navy bases, Air Force stations and other sensitive and protected facilitiess such as ICBM silos, strategic defence headquarters, power plants, the residence of the US President and they sometimes jam the radars and command and control systems which in the words of some of the pilots and ICBM staff can be regarded as a hostile manoeuvers although they were apparently only intended for self-protection, On various occasions UAPs temporarily switched off the firing mechanisms of ICBM which is regarded as a technical impossibility by the system operators.
4-The Pentagon has been ordered by the US Congress`s Intelligence Committee in a directive as part of the Defence Authorization Act to provide within six months from July 2020 a report disclosing some of the hitherto classified information it has gathered about the nature, origin and objectives of the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenal. It is however to be noted that the delay granted and the virtual discretion given to the Military as to what information they will release indicate that not much new information may come out and most of the press echoed the official line about the fear that the UAPS may in fact be Chinese or Russian vehicles, which is an old but long discredited hypothesis intended to elude the real issue at hand.
5-A number of high US ranking politicians and military officers have voiced publicly their awareness of the existence of UAPS (Senators Marco Rubio, Mark Warner, Mark Walker among others) after being briefed by scientists from AATIP but this apparently new wave of concern is only the latest in a very long series of official and public reports and statements that go back to the second world war if not much earlier. This time however it is reported that the Legislators were informed that certain US agencies and/or corporate entities are in possession of materials and substances of non-terrestrial origin and not human-made.
Even if we discount the historical records that allude to observations of and encounters with `alien` or strange craft and beings that take us back hundreds of years and possibly millennia, the series of confirmed events that took place between 1942 (the so-called `battle over Los Angeles`) and 1954 (the Roswell UFO crashes and retrievals in 1947, the UFO fleets over the Capitol in Washington D.C. in 1952), the press conferences by top US Army, Air Force and Navy Commanders, the multiple government-commissioned investigations et al. prove that the UAP (formerly UFO) phenomenon has been a constant matter of concern at the highest levels along the last several decades. Long spells of official silence and dismissal have been periodically interrupted by waves of statements usually pleading ignorance while admitting the reality and the outlandish nature of the incidents but always stopping short of affirming their non-human, extra-planetary character.

• In 1954, during the Cold War, employees of Hydroelectric Power Commission of Ontario or “Ontario Hydro” in northern Ontario, Canada were among the reliable government employees who were trained as the ‘Ground Observer Corps’ to watch for, identify and report to the Royal Canadian Air Force base in North Bay, a description and time of all planes flying overhead. Among these employees were a small ‘colony’ of ‘Hydro families’ who lived at the top of a hill near Ontario Hydro’s Wawaitin generating station, southwest of Timmins, Ontario.
• There was no TV reception up there, so people would gather socially, often with families from the Department of Lands and Forests. On the evening of Sunday, August 29, 1954, Chief Forest Ranger George Sheridan and his wife Gloria, and Don Ouimet, operator for Ontario Hydro and his wife Lois, met at the home of Ken and Shirley Kitchen who also worked for Ontario Hydro. At about 9:30 pm, George ran in saying, “Come quick! Do you want to see something strange? It just might be a flying saucer!” All three couples went outside with a pair of binoculars to view the brilliant, reddish-orange ball of light that appeared to be about eight or 10 miles away. The object kept dipping up and down, while swooping over the trees. “It was going very slowly and that’s what amazed me. You always hear reports of anything like this travelling very fast. This was so slow!” said Don Ouimet. Whatever it was, after about 20 minutes the object slowly disappeared to the southwest over Lake Kenogamissi. Sixty-six years later, Don and Lois Ouimet remember the incident vividly. They still wonder what that ball of light was that swooped up and down near Wawaitin.
• The incident was also seen by the Deputy Fire Ranger, Jack Russell. The Regional Director of the Ground Observer Corps, James Morton, was notified, as was the RCAF in North Bay. Just before dawn the next morning, a similar sighting was reported by Henry Durdie, a Royal Canadian Navy veteran, employed at the Military base in North Bay. Durdie said, “The great glowing ball of light hovered over the RCAF base while shooting out tremendous sparks like knitting needles of lightning.” Durdie said he was frightened at first, then called Tony McLeod, Leo Blais, George Noble and Manley Bailey to watch with him.
• Four months later, on December 26th, Cobalt, Ontario resident John R. Hunt, a reporter for the North Bay Nugget newspaper, received a telephone call from Willis St. Jean who was working the evening shift at the Agaunico (Agnico) Mine. “John, for God’s sake get out here! There’s a flying saucer overhead spitting out light all over the place!” Hunt sped to the mine on the shore of Lake Temiskaming and found St. Jean pointing up to the sky. “The thing came down low and scared the blazes out of me,” said St. Jean. The sighting was confirmed by St. Jean’s wife as well as William Montgomery of West Cobalt, and Hugh and Annette Montgomery, visiting from Kitchener. The light and antics were observed by the six people for over an hour.
• In his report to the Nugget the next day, Hunt said, “The light was emanating from a giant rotating disc of pure light. The light was not just spinning, but flying in circles. The cone of light suddenly reversed and the disc sent its blinding light straight up into the sky. It moved from the east to the west and stopped motionless, directly overhead. We watched the light come and go, dance in the sky, hover and dart as no airplane nor star nor meteor has ever behaved.” “What it was that this reporter saw last night I do not know. I was stone cold sober and so were the others who witnessed the phenomena. As far as I am concerned, a flying saucer flew over the mine and I saw it.”
Today, nearly everyone carries a cellphone with a camera. Those cameras can record proof of whatever people see, which might have sparked their interest. Without such proof, a single verbal description is lost unless more than one person can corroborate the event or sighting. Today’s column has been corroborated by many.
Now on with the stories: Let me take you back to the year 1954. Not counting the RCAF base in North Bay, there were only two airports in Northern Ontario; one in Porquis Junction and the other in Earlton. Highway 11B (now Highway 101) ended in Timmins. There were wide expanses of remote nothingness.
This was the era of the Cold War during which time the federal government established the Ground Observer Corps where reliable members of the public, including Ontario Hydro and other government employees were trained to watch for, correctly identify and report to the RCAF base in North Bay, a description and time of all planes flying overhead.
In 1954, there was a small colony at Ontario Hydro’s Wawaitin generating station, southwest of Timmins. The Hydro families there and those living at the top of the hill who worked for the Department of Lands and Forests often met socially. There was no TV in 1954. The evening of Sunday, Aug. 29 was such a night when Chief Forest Ranger George Sheridan with his wife Gloria, Don Ouimet, operator for Ontario Hydro and his wife Lois, met at the home of Ken and Shirley Kitchen. Ken was also an operator for Hydro.
At about 9:30, George ran in saying, “Come quick! Do you want to see something strange? It just might be a flying saucer!” He had been watching the phenomenon for three or four minutes already. Quickly, all three couples went outside with a pair of binoculars to view the strange, brilliant, reddish-orange ball of light that appeared to be about eight or 10 miles away. The object kept dipping up and down, while swooping over the trees.
Ouimet said, “It was going very slowly and that’s what amazed me. You always hear reports of anything like this travelling very fast. This was so slow!” The object, whatever it was, slowly disappeared to the southwest over Lake Kenogamissi after about 20 minutes. The incident was also seen by the Deputy Fire Ranger, Jack Russell. Article by Luke Kenton October 20, 2020 (dailymail.co.uk)
• A documentary film by James Fox, The Phenomenon, released on October 6th has reignited the fire in the UFO community with firm confirmation of the government’s knowledge of still-unexplained ‘Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon’ (UAP), more commonly known as UFOs, Along with some new information as well.
• In the documentary, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, Chris Mellon (pictured above), explained how came to possess the three infamous Navy UFO videos. The 63-year-old Mellon said that unnamed Defense Department official met him in a Pentagon parking lot and handed Mellon a package with the three UFO videos captured by Navy pilots in 2004 and 2015. Mellon tells the filmmakers, “This is a case where somebody bent the rules a little bit, and they did so for the larger good, and we’re absolutely all better off because of it.”
• The three videos were the ‘Tic Tac’ UFO seen by Navy pilots off of San Diego in 2004; an anomalous UFO rotating while in flight and a small UFO darting across the water below, taken by Navy pilots off of the East Coast in 2015. Nimitz carrier pilots Commander David Fravor and Chad Underwood both saw the Tic Tac UFO on November 14, 2004. In the January 21st, 2015 video of the small UFO darting across the Atlantic Ocean, a Navy pilot is heard to remark, “what the fuck is that thing?” as it passes below him. (click link NY Times ExoArticle below to see the three Navy videos… again.)
• Mellon shared the videos with Luis Elizondo, the former head of the classified Pentagon UFO program called the ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’. (The two men had moved on from government work to become colleagues in “To The Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences’, formed in 2017 to investigate and promote UFO data.) In late August of 2017, Elizondo worked with the Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review to have the three videos declassified.
• On October 4, 2017, Elizondo and Mellon had a meeting with New York Times journalist, Leslie Kean, who also appears in the documentary. Kean was informed by Elizondo about the about the secret Pentagon UFO program, and Mellon showed her the UFO videos on his laptop. This information went on to form what would become the bombshell NY Times article of December 2017 (see ExoArticle here) Kean said she ‘knew this was breaking news for the front page of the New York Times as soon as Mellon informed her about the clips’ existence.
• The Pentagon’s ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’ (AATIP) was conceived in 2007 by former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and morphed into the ‘Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force’, under the Office of Naval Intelligence, after 2012. Apparently, for over a decade, the Pentagon has been conducting classified briefings for Congressional committees, aerospace company executives and other government officials. The briefings were centered on sightings, video footage, and radar logs by military pilots of ‘unexplained aerial phenomena’ which seemed to transcend existing flight technology – such as an aircraft with no visible engine at 30,000ft, traveling at hypersonic speed.
• The Department of Defense officially released the videos in April this year, nearly two-and-half years after the NY Times report, in order to ‘clear up any misconceptions’ about the video’s veracity. “The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as ‘unidentified’,” the department said.
• ‘The Phenomenon’ analyzes the history of UFO sightings in the US since the 1940s. In the film, Senator Reid claims that the US government has been hiding key details about UFO encounters from the public for years. ”Why the federal government all these years has covered up …everything, stopped it, I think it’s very, very bad for our country.” Reid says that most of the government’s evidence of UFOs still “hasn’t seen the light of day”.
• Reid, however, stops short of confirming other-worldly activity, tweeting in August that “we must stick to science, not fairy tales about little green men”. In the film, Reid tells Fox, “Nobody has to agree why [the UFO phenomenon is] there. But should we at least be spending some money to study all these phenomenon? The answer is yes.”
• The documentary film also goes into the US military’s investigation of UFOs in the late 1940s, as sightings of UFO discs began cropping up in mainstream news reports. The Air Force investigated over 12,000 UFO sightings, ‘explaining’ all but 701 of them. One of those unexplained incidents occurred over Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana in 1967. Ten ICMB missiles situated underground beneath the base suddenly become inoperative. Similar sightings and results were also reported at nuclear sites in the former Soviet Union and in Great Britain.
• Robert Jamison, a retired USAF nuclear missile targeting officer, told of several occasions having to go out and ‘re-start’ missiles that had been deactivated, after UFOs – mysterious glowing red objects in the sky – were sighted nearby. “If they had been called upon by the President to launch, they couldn’t have done it.”
Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, Chris Mellon, has revealed that he was the
source who provided the New York Times with the three UFO videos it famously published in 2017.
Mellon, who served in the senior intelligence role under the Bill Clinton and George W. Bush administrations, made the bombshell admission in a recently released documentary, The Phenomenon, which is directed by James Fox.
The 63-year-old told Fox that he met with an unnamed individual in the parking lot of the Pentagon months earlier and was handed a package containing three videos of ‘unexplained aerial phenomena’ captured by Navy pilots between 2004 and 2015.
‘I received the videos, the now famous videos in the Pentagon parking lot from a Defense Department official. I still have the packaging,’ Mellon is heard telling the filmmakers. ‘This is a case where somebody bent the rules a little bit, and they did so for the larger good and we’re absolutely all better off because of it.’
The three videos went on to form what would become the basis of one of the most significant and
revealing articles about UFOs in recent years.
One of journalists who worked on the story, Leslie Kean, also appears in the documentary.
Kean said she ‘knew this was breaking news for the front page of the New York Times,’ as soon as Mellon informed her about the clips’ existence.
In its bombshell December 2017 article, the Times unveiled a classified Pentagon UFO program called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), overseen by the likes of former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Though at the time the government said the program, secretly commissioned in 2007, was shuttered due to a lack of funding in 2012, the Times later confirmed it continued its existence under a new name, the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force, within the Office of Naval Intelligence.
For more than a decade, the Pentagon had been conducting classified briefings for congressional committees, aerospace company executives and other government officials.
The briefings were centered on sightings, video footage, and radar logs by military pilots of ‘unexplained aerial
phenomena’ which seemed to transcend existing flight technology – such as an aircraft with no visible engine at 30,000ft, traveling at hypersonic speed.
The Times also released three clips captured by Navy pilots across an 11 year period.
The first of which, known as the ‘Tic Tac’ incident, was captured by F-18 pilot Chad Underwood off the coast of San Diego on November 14, 2004.
The Tic Tac UFO – so-called because of its rounded shape and white color – was spotted by Underwood flying erratically over the Pacific Ocean.
‘It was going from like 50,000 feet to 100 feet in like seconds, which is not possible,’ Underwood said back in December 2019, breaking his 15-year silence over the encounter.
To this day, officials still have no idea what the recorded object was, with weather phenomenon, man-made craft and birds having all since been ruled out.
Two other videos recorded on January 21st, 2015, were also released.

• The melting polar ice cap on Antarctica might have just uncovered proof of extraterrestrial life. The receding ice has revealed a flying saucer on Google Earth. (see 9:19 minute video below)
• YouTuber MrMBB333 was sent the coordinates of the craft by a follower and created a video showing the strange, seemingly perfect circular shape, partially obscured by a rocky overhang. He says, “This appears to be a 60-foot-wide disc sticking out of the ground apparently being recently revealed by the melting snow and ice. There is the object, it looks like it was intelligently designed.”
• To support his theory, he alters the colors of the image and proposes that there is an “elevated circle” on the top of the structure. YouTube commenters say, “It doesn’t look stuck in the ground, it looks like it’s hovering,” while another added, “The black area under it looks like a shadow and if you look to your left, you will see a light source which looks like it’s coming from inside the cave or tunnel.”
• One ‘never UFOer’ skeptic insists, “It is just a small pool of water. If you look around at the other features locally you will notice that the other bodies of water also have a similar hue.” You be the judge.
The melting polar ice caps are causing many problems, from rising sea levels to extreme weather events to the extinction of certain species and the loss of fresh water for the world. However, they also might have just uncovered proof of extraterrestrial life. That’s according to one conspiracy theorist who claims the receding ice has revealed a flying saucer on Google Earth.

Article by Nick Pope October 10, 2020 (thescottishsun.co.uk)
• The top secret color photographs of the so-called ‘Calvine Incident’, when a flying saucer was clearly seen in the skies above the Scottish Highlands in August 1990 were set to be released in 2021. But now the British Ministry of Defence (MoD) has postponed the photographs’ release for another fifty years. Nick Pope worked for the Ministry of Defence for 21 years, from 1991 to 1994, and ran its UFO office. Pope (pictured above) tells the inside story.
• Two men had been out hiking near Calvine in Scotland. Suddenly, they saw a massive UFO hanging in the sky, silent and motionless above their heads. Awestruck, they shot six photographs before the object accelerated away, vertically, at immense speed. The hikers sent the photos to a Scottish newspaper. A journalist contacted the MoD press office looking for a comment. The MoD managed to extract all the photos and the negatives from the newspaper, who never got them back.
• The photos had been taken in broad daylight and showed a large, crystal clear, diamond-shaped craft. At the government intelligence photo lab, the images were enlarged and analyzed. The analysis revealed that the photos had not been faked. They showed a structured craft of unknown origin, unlike any conventional aircraft. There was no fuselage, no wings, no tail, no engines and no markings of any sort. The size of the craft was estimated to be 100 feet in diameter. An enlargement of the photos revealed two military jets in the background. It wasn’t clear if they were escorting the UFO, trying to intercept it, or whether their presence was coincidental and the pilots had been too far away to see it. Pope’s predecessor at the MoD-UFO office had been prevented from tracing the military jets in the photos. This suggested that someone inside the MoD had sabotaged the investigation and blocked the UFO project from getting to the truth. Dark forces were at work.
• The MoD’s standard line on UFOs was that the phenomenon was of ‘no defense significance’ – a meaningless Whitehall soundbite that meant whatever we wanted it to mean. At best it was misleading, and at worst it was a downright lie. Pope says that the MoD consistently played down the true level of its interest in UFOs, telling Parliament, the media and the public that the subject was of little interest, “while all the time, behind closed doors, we struggled to make sense of cases like the Calvine incident”.
• MoD officials never found a definitive explanation for what was seen at Calvine. Of the several hundred UFO sighting reports received each year, most turned out to be misidentifications of satellites, meteors, Chinese lanterns and other ordinary objects and phenomena. But around five percent of the cases remained unexplained. “We didn’t assume these unexplained cases were extraterrestrial,” says Pope, “but neither did we rule out the possibility.”
• In the mid-nineties, a ‘believer faction’ had emerged at the MoD. This led to some extraordinary scenes. One time Pope and his boss walked over to Defence Intelligence Staff headquarters building in Whitehall. These were the ‘spooks’ who provided scientific and technical advice. A military intelligence briefer pulled out a copy of one of the Calvine photos from a folder. The intelligence officer ran through the possibilities. The object in the photograph wasn’t Russian. And it wasn’t American. That only left one other possibility. The briefer pointed straight up. Nothing further was said, and Pope and his boss walked back to their office in silence.
• A bitter struggle between UFO skeptics and UFO believers had erupted within the MoD. In relation to the Calvine photos, the only possible skeptical theory was that the object was a secret prototype aircraft or drone. Could it be American? The U.S. authorities were asked if they’d been testing a secret ‘Aurora’-type aircraft over the UK, but the U.S. denied any such prototype craft over Scotland. Since this was the skeptics’ only possibility, they persistently asked again. The Secretary of the US Air Force, Donald Rice, was ‘incensed’ by the questioning and the implication that he’d lied to the US Congress when Rice told them Aurora didn’t exist.
• Until now, a clear color photo of the Calvine UFO adorned the office wall at the UFO division of the MoD. But due to the diplomatic dust-up between Britain’s RAF and the US Air Force caused by the photos, the head of the division took it off of the wall. This division head still believed that it had to be a secret American craft. It couldn’t have been an extraterrestrial UFO, because they don’t exist. So he locked the photo in a safe, and it’s rumored that he later put it through the shredder.
• Plenty of other copies of the Calvine UFO survived, however. Pope came out of retirement in 2008 to help publicize the declassification and release of the MoD’s UFO files. But when the relevant files were released, the Calvine photos were missing. All that remained were some poor-quality black and white photocopies of a line drawing of one photo. It was as if the MoD wanted to ridicule the subject. A few years ago, Pope teamed up with a graphic artist in Los Angeles. They reconstructed the photo for a TV show, using the line drawing and memory as a guide. The result was spot-on, but it’s still not the real thing.
The top secret colour photographs, said to show a flying saucer above the Scottish Highlands in August 1990 – the so-called Calvine Incident – were set to be released in the New Year.
However, they have now been blocked for a further 50 years.
Here, former MoD official Nick Pope, who previously ran its UFO project, tells The Sun the inside story…
In the cult sci-fi series The X-Files, Fox Mulder has a poster of a UFO on the wall of his basement office. Underneath are the words “I want to believe”.
In the Ministry of Defence office, which served as the nerve centre of the UK’s UFO project, we had something very similar. But our picture was real.
Most UFO photos are either obvious fakes, or blurry and indistinct – a vague light in the night sky, or a fuzzy dot in the distance.
Not this one. It was up-close-and-personal, had been taken in broad daylight, and showed a large diamond-shaped craft.
I soon got the story out of my predecessor and read the file myself. It was an extraordinary tale: two men had been out hiking near Calvine in Scotland.
Suddenly, they’d seen a massive UFO hanging in the sky above their heads, silent, motionless and menacing. Awestruck, they shot off six photographs before the object accelerated away at immense speed – vertically!
The shell-shocked witnesses sent the photos to a Scottish newspaper and a journalist contacted the MoD press office, looking for a comment.
Somehow – perhaps using a D-Notice or perhaps using some real-life Men-in-Black trickery – someone at the MoD managed to extract all the photos and the negatives from the newspaper, who never got them back.
The MoD’s technical wizards leapt into action. The images were enlarged and analyzed, using the full resources and capabilities of intelligence community specialists.
Even now, years after these events, I can’t discuss the details of this process, as so much of the information is top secret.
The analysis was nothing short of sensational. The photos hadn’t been faked.
They showed a structured craft of unknown origin, unlike any conventional aircraft. There was no fuselage, no wings, no tail, no engines and no markings of any sort.

• In 1990, two Perthshire, Scotland hikers watched the 100ft “diamond-shaped metallic craft” hovering over the village of Calvine in the Scottish Highlands for ten minutes before it shot up vertically out of sight. They also said that they saw military jets fly a series of low-level passes. And they took six photos to prove it. UFO investigator Nick Pope helped colorize the image (seen above).
• The photographs were turned over to British Ministry of Defence officials. Pursuant to the “30-year rule”, these photos were to be declassified and made public on January 1, 2021. But the Ministry of Defence has announced that the release of the photos will be blocked until 2072 – without explanation. The MoD released a redacted version of the file, which includes a blurred photocopy of the original UFO image.
• Former MoD UFO investigator, Nick Pope stated: “Despite an extensive investigation, we never found a definitive explanation for what was seen at Calvine”, said to be one of the most intriguing of all the UFO mysteries. “By the time the world gets to see the file, the two witnesses will be dead. It is crazy. What are the authorities trying to hide?” The redacted file also omitted the names and contact details of the hikers.
• A Freedom of Information Act complaint lodged against the National Archives for withholding the documents is now under investigation by the ‘Information Commissioner’s Office’, a UK information watchdog. The National Archives and the MoD refused to comment.
UFO experts hit out when it emerged a dossier into Britain’s most significant sighting is to be kept secret for another 50 years.
The file is said to contain astonishing colour photographs of a 100ft craft hovering over the village of Calvine in the Scottish Highlands in 1990.
A 30-year rule meant it was due to be declassified on January 1 — but the Ministry of Defence has now blocked release until 2072 without explanation.
Photographs were taken by two Perthshire hikers who watched the “diamond-shaped metallic craft” for ten minutes before it shot up vertically out of sight.
They also claimed to see military jets fly a series of low-level passes.
Evidence collected and held on to by officials included the hikers’ six colour snaps.
A redacted version of the file has been released, including just a blurred photocopied image.
UFO investigator Nick Pope helped colourise the image, seen above.
Last night, Mr Pope said: “Despite an extensive investigation, we never found a definitive explanation for what was seen at Calvine.”
A UFO hunter added: “This is all so frustrating. The Calvine Incident is one of the most intriguing of all the UFO mysteries from that period.
“Under the 30-year rule, the file should have been released on January 1 2021, but if the ministry get their way it won’t be released until January 1 2072 — an 82-year closure.
“By the time the world gets to see the file, the two witnesses will be dead. It is crazy. What are the authorities trying to hide?”

• A short YouTube video shows two UFO’s flying in close proximity to the Moon before seemingly landing just moments after. (see 1:10 minute video below)
• YouTube user ZeaL uploaded the video from YouTuber Jean-Michel Tenac, who uploaded it from an anonymous poster in Montréal, France. ZeaL says that he has permission from the original uploader of this video. The anonymous source says that he ‘only wants the video to be known’.
• According to the anonymous source who filmed the footage on March 26, 2020, “I regularly film the Moon by day, at time of the first and last crescent. I think hidden activity has to be visible on the Moon, it is at that moment the population does not observe it because the first and last crescent makes it more discreet.”
Shared on April 3, 2020 and already amassing hundreds of thousands of views, the video shows what the man filming describes as “hidden activity […] visible on the Moon”.
YouTube user ZeaL was responsible for uploading this video depicting UFO activity that has already been viewed over 350,000 times, but he has admitted that he’s not the one behind the camera filming. Apparently, this video has seen itself passed on multiple times before it landed on ZeaL’s channel.
“I see a lot of channels spreading false information about where this video was captured. Please take note that we were the first to speak with the original uploader of this video and given permission to share it by him.”
As we trace back the video to its origins, we can find the first appearance of it on YouTube featured on the channel of a user by the name of Jean-Michel Tenac. At the time of posting, he had 0 subscribers but has since seen that number jump up to nearly 2,000. However, despite being the first one to upload the video, it wasn’t actually Jean-Michel behind the camera.
Jean states that this video was filmed somewhere from Montréal, France NOT Canada. This footage was given to him by his friend who wishes to remain anonymous. We have asked him to reach out and take full credit but if he decides not to then we will respect that. At the current moment he only wants the video to be known.

• On October 9, 1989, Russia’s press agency TASS confirmed the report of sightings of three aliens in the city of Voronezh, Soviet Union. 31 years ago (only a month before the fall of the Berlin wall and the Soviet State). The local community watched as a “banana-shaped” UFO appeared in the sky, and three robot-like beings emerged from it along with a ‘shining ball’.
• “Scientists have confirmed the recent unidentified flying object recently landed in a park in the Russian city of Voronezh,” read the TASS press release. “The aliens were three or even four meters (9 to 12 feet) tall, but with very small heads.″ Apparently, the aliens made a short promenade around the city park, and then ″they walked near the ball or disc and… disappeared inside.″
• Genrikh Silanov, head of the Voronezh Geophysical Laboratory, was reported by TASS as saying that Russian scientists found a 20-yard depression with four deep dents at the site. But they were most excited about finding that the beings left behind two abnormal rocks. “At first glance, they looked like sandstone of a deep-red color,” said Silanov. “However, mineralogical analysis has shown that the substance cannot be found on Earth.”
• When inquired, TASS and other Soviet news outlets stood by the Voronezh UFO incident and claims of aliens. However, a TIMEmagazine journalist, Howard G. Chua-Eoan, reported that the 1980’s policy of ‘glasnost’ – or ‘openness’ – led the Soviet media to be more open about events such as the Voronezh UFO incident. The news source also stands by other UFO sightings such as the ‘Petrozavodsk phenomenon’ that involved 48 unidentified flying objects, and an encounter between a milkmaid and a “cosmic creature” that occurred in region of Perm, Russia, close to the Ural mountains.
• [Editor’s Note] Since the Voronezh UFO incident was such a major media event in Russia, with aliens landing in the city park, and since this article is woefully lacking, I will embellish the account from Wikipedia. The actual incident occurred on September 29, 1989 and was witnessed by a group of a dozen children and some adults in the city park. The children first spotted a small ball floating through the park, which morphed into a large disc landing near them. Witnesses then reported a “three-eyed alien” and a robot exiting the craft. The aliens never spoke, but stared at the horrified people, then went back to the disc craft and departed into the sky. Five minutes later the craft returned to the same spot (thought to have utilized a “biolocater”) to abduct a 16-year-old boy, using what was described as a 50 cm-long “pistol tube”. The children were the only ones claiming to have witnessed the aliens. (Judging by the illustrations of the alien creatures, they do appear to be ‘cartoonish’.) Although, Lieutenant Sergei A. Matveyev of the Voronezh district police station claimed to have seen the craft.
The scientist quoted in the TASS news report, Genrikh Silanov, later denied ever making any remarks or conducting any experiments about the Voronezh UFO. But many Soviet media outlets jumped on the bandwagon to promote the incident, with a reporter from Komsomolskaya Pravda even claiming to have an exclusive interview with the alien beings. The Soviet Scientific Commission ordered an official inquiry into the alleged incident. Though the city park area was found to have an above-average presence of the radioactive isotope cesium, the vice-rector of the University of Voronezh quickly dismissed the incident as fiction.
Russia confirmed the report of sightings of three aliens in the city of Voronezh arriving on the “banana-shaped” object (UFO) on October 9, 1989, 31 years ago.
On this day, October 9, 1989, 31 years ago Russia’s press agency TASS claimed that the extra-terrestrial contact on earth had already been made as it confirmed the report of sightings of three aliens in the city of Voronezh arriving on the “banana-shaped” object (UFO). “Scientists have confirmed the recent unidentified flying object recently landed in a park in the Russian city of Voronezh,” the release by TASS read. “They identified the landing site and found traces of aliens who made a short promenade about the park,” it added, claiming that two pieces of unidentified rocks were left behind which cannot be found on Earth.
According to a TIME report from the October 23, 1989 issue, a strange encounter between a milkmaid and a “cosmic creature” was reported to have happened in the Russian region of Perm, close to the Ural mountains. Soviet newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda claimed that the Russian researchers registered the “influence of energies” after a geologist made claims of the discovery of the flying saucer in the region. When enquired, TASS and several other Soviet news outlets stood by the existence of aliens’ claims in the Voronezh UFO incident of 1989.
Genrikh Silanov, head of the Voronezh Geophysical Laboratory, was reported by Tass as saying that Russians scientists found a 20-yard depression with four deep dents at the site, suspecting that it was intact a UFO, adding, two abnormal rocks sent scientists in a jiffy. “At first glance, they looked like sandstone of a deep-red color. However, mineralogical analysis has shown that the substance cannot be found on Earth,” AP cited Silanov’s statement in the TASS report. “However, additional tests are needed to reach a more definite conclusion,” he added.

• A historic UFO incident in Clarenville, Newfoundland, Canada in 1978 is still so popular that the Canadian Mint has recently made a $130 glow-in-the-dark coin to commemorate it. The 5,000 coins in the limited edition are 90% sold out.
• Responding to a call on this evening in 1978, Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer Constable James Blackwood went to the location and saw “something” hovering about 100 feet in the air over some water between Clarenville shoreline and Random Island. Blackwood turned on the lights on his police car and the floating object responded by flashing its own lights. It hovered there for two hours.
• The Clarenville UFO event isn’t Canada’s only suspicious sighting. In 1967, a man reported seeing some glowing objects in the sky at Falcon Lake, Manitoba. Then a 35-foot craft landed nearby. The man got close enough to touch it before it took off again. In the weeks after the sighting, he became sick with very suspicious symptoms that doctors could not diagnose. That same year, in St. Paul, Alberta, they built the first-ever UFO landing pad in the world.
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, its a weird disc floating in the sky? It may sound straight out of a sci-fi film but something just like that happened in Canada.
The Clarenville alien sighting from 1978 is one of the country’s biggest mysteries. It’s so wild that the Mint even made a glow-in-the-dark commemorative coin about it.
What happened in Clarenville?
One night, back in 1978 an RCMP officer named Constable James Blackwood responded to a call in Clarenville, Newfoundland where witness had noticed something weird in the sky.
According to an interview with a local paper called The Packet, Blackwood saw something hovering about 100 feet above the water between Clarenville and Random Island. He says its was there for two hours.
He reportedly turned on the lights on his police car and the floating object responded by flashing its own lights.
It later left without a trace and still remains a mystery.
What does the glow-in-the-dark coin look like?
It’s spooky season and potential UFO sightings are undoubtedly spooky and Canada’s official coin creators seem to be aware of that too.
To mark the weird event in history, the Canadian Mint just launched a commemorative coin depicting the saucer hovering over the Newfoundland town.
The square shape is unique enough on it’s own but this coin also glows in the dark.
The mint only made 5,000 of the money-pieces, which sell for a whopping $129.95 each and they are already 90% sold out.

• In the book, Russia’s USO Secrets, co-author British UFO investigator Philip Mantle has collected stories about Russian/Soviet Navy encounters with UFOs and ‘USOs – ‘unidentified submerged objects’ – dating back to World War II, based on unclassified Russian documents and accounts from military veterans.
• Former nuclear submarine commander, Yury Beketov, related an incident that occurred in 2009 within the ‘Bermuda Triangle’. The submarine’s instruments repeatedly “detected the movements of material objects at unimaginable speed, around 230 knots (400 km per hour)” under the sea. “The beings that created those material objects significantly exceed us in development,” remarked Beketov.
• Another account is given by a Russian Navy veteran during the Cold War. They would see UFOs flying in towards them, and then dive down beneath the waves. In one incident, the sub’s captain ordered depth charges to be dropped into the path of a USO, which then changed direction and sped off.
• In another encounter, a Russian submarine crew watched as a cigar shaped UFO shot three beams of light down into the Atlantic Ocean. The UFO was about 250 meters long, and slowly descended into the ocean making a strange hissing sound about half a mile from the submarine. The object could not be tracked on radar, however.
• Russian Lieutenant-Commander Oleg Sokolov told his students that while on duty he once spotted, through a submarine periscope, a strange object rising out of the water. Marine scientists in the port city of Sevastopol, Ukraine, claimed they spotted a huge “wheel” rotating below the Black Sea while they were deep sea diving. Other UFOs have appeared over Soviet submarine bases forcing the Soviet General Staff to take them seriously.
• In a 1951 incident, a Soviet submarine encountered a gigantic underwater object heading towards the shore. The captain ordered depth bombs to be dropped into the path of the USO. The USO did not react to the attack and stayed on its course before darting towards the surface. At a depth of 50 meters, it stopped its ascent, changed course and departed.
• In July 1978, Soviet sailors aboard the ship, Yargora, observed a UFO in the Mediterranean. The ship’s captain sent a radiogram to the Soviet Academy of Sciences in Moscow telling them the object was shaped like a flattened-out sphere and was a white pearl color.
• The book publishes the results of a study by the Anomalous Phenomena Commission of the Russian Geographical Society in Saint Petersburg, which concluded that: “UFOs are real”. The author, Mantle, notes that, “[B]oth Russian and American subs have encountered USO’s in various parts of the world.” “More and more researchers around the world are taking a closer look at the … USO phenomena, [which] looks… to be the future of UFO research in general.”
In scenes straight out of a Hollywood movie, Soviet subs are playing a game of cat and mouse with strange underwater craft, according to a new book called Russia’s USO Secrets, by Brit investigator Philip Mantle, based on Russian documents and accounts from military veterans.
Describing a bizarre incident in the Bermuda Triangle in 2009, former nuclear submarine commander Yury Beketov said: “We repeatedly observed that the instruments detected the movements of material objects at unimaginable speed, around 230 knots (400 km per hour).
“It’s hard to reach that speed on the surface – only in the air [is it possible]… The beings that created those material objects significantly exceed us in development.”
The book also contains accounts from Russian veterans about their close encounters – including hostile acts – at sea during the Cold War.
They have described how UFOs would apparently appear in the sky before diving down beneath the waves.
In one terrifying incident, a captain ordered depth charges to be dropped into the path of a USO which changed direction and sped off.
Lieutenant-Commander Oleg Sokolov told students that while on duty he spotted a strange object through a periscope rising out of the water.

• The Rendlesham Forest UFO incident at the joint British-American air base RAF Woodbridge/RAF Bentwaters in Suffolk, England is one of the most famous UFO sightings ever recorded. It has created a wide range of first-hand sightings, audio recordings, multiple reports, and continuous testimony – sometimes contradictory. With so many angles and perspectives to this story, which are actually correct and what happened exactly?
• On December 26, 1980, at the east gate of the RAF Woodbridge base, US Air Force security patrol Budd Stevens and Sergeant Jim Penniston saw strange, intensely bright fiery-red lights gleaming through the trees of the nearby Rendlesham Forest . They reported their sightings to their commanding officer. At 3:00 am, Penniston was ordered to investigate while Stevens stayed at his post.
• Penniston was accompanied in a jeep by John Burroughs to where the “bogie” reportedly landed. It was here that Burroughs and Penniston saw a mysterious glowing but silent craft whose movement and rapid speed defied the laws of physics. In his statement, Penniston said: “[T]he craft was three meters tall, and about three meters wide at the base… No landing gear was apparent, but it seemed like she was on fixed legs… I moved a little closer… I walked around the craft, and finally, I walked right up to the craft. I noticed the fabric of the shell was more like a smooth, opaque, black glass…” Suddenly, the craft took off at full speed, heading towards a barn where its bright lights disturbed the farm animals and wildlife. Burroughs and Penniston raced after it, climbed over a fence, and watched as the red and blue lights shining from the craft vanished as it passed the barn.
• When Penniston and Burroughs returned to the base, they both decided to downplay what they had seen in their incident report. They simply stated: “[S]aw a mechanical object with red, blue and white lights, but the craft disappeared before we could get a better look…” They were both ordered to keep silent about what they saw.
• The next day, Penniston returned to the landing site and discovered circular impressions on the ground made by a heavy object, spaced three meters apart. He made plaster cast impressions of the landing marks. There was also burn damage and broken branches at the site. Other USAF servicemen on the base became interested in the encounter and the Rendlesham Forest site became a curious hot spot.
• Two days later, on December 28, 1980, deputy base commander Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt was informed that the UFO had returned near the original site. Lt Colonel Halt assemble a team of personnel armed with floodlights, night scopes, audio recording devices, and radiation detectors, and set out for the UFO site. He ordered floodlights to be set up around the perimeter of the site. But the floodlights malfunctioned, so the men used their night vision scopes. The scopes revealed abrasions on surrounding trees. The Geiger counters recorded high radiation. Then the UFO appeared again, approaching from the south. It flew by at an incredible speed, pulsing a vibrant red light through the branches of the trees. In Lt Colonel Halt’s audio recording, he is heard to say, “(The UFO) looks like an eye winking at you…Here he comes from the south, he’s coming towards us now…now we’re observing what happens to be a beam coming down to the ground. This is unreal…” The lights continued to hover and beam over the forest and the field, but as the craft moved it seemed to fall apart.
• When Lt Colonel Halt shared his story with the Office of Special Investigations, he too was told to keep quiet about the experience to protect his own reputation and, more importantly, the reputation of the US Air Force. Boroughs and Penniston were sworn to secrecy. Lt Colonel Halt was allowed to write a memo to the British Ministry of Defense about the events that had occurred. Thanks to the US Information act of 1983, Lt Colonel Halt’s memo is on public record, for anyone to read.
• On January 25, 1985, The Guardian published an article on the Rendlesham Forest UFO incident. But a mysterious U.S. airman named Larry Warren, using the alias “Art Wallace”, had been giving interviews about the incident to local newspapers and television shows. Warren claimed to be an eye-witness, alongside Burroughs, Penniston, and Halt. However, in Warren’s version, he claimed that Lt Colonel Halt and a few other officers at the landing site actually introduced themselves to the tiny aliens that emerged from the spacecraft. This account wildly contradicted the other USAF officers’ accounts. Warren claimed that the USAF Office of Special Investigations had brainwashed him by injecting him with truth serum while forcing him to watch films about UFOs, in order to frame him as a mentally disturbed individual. Lt Colonel Halt, Burroughs, and Penniston avoided Warren.
• In June 2010, the now retired Lt Colonel Halt committed his memories of the Rendlesham Forest UFO incident to a two-page affidavit. But Halt’s recollection of the numbers of objects, the lights’ direction, and the positions of the landing marks were imprecise and only cast more confusion and doubt on the story. So in 2015, to re-establish his reputation, the elderly Lt Colonel Halt obtained written statements from the RAF Brentwater radar operators working on the nights in question.
• The radar operators admitted to tracking the objects on the 26th and 28th of December 1980, but they wanted to put off discussing the matter until after they too had retired from the military. They did say that they saw lights that traveled 60 miles in three seconds, rotate and come to a sudden stop by a water tower, and return again to the forest where Lt Colonel Halt’s team were on the ground investigating. Other witnesses also came forward to confirm the servicemen’s accounts as they retired from the military, sometime with contradictory details.
• Skeptics have seized on the contradictions, claiming that the lights seen by USAF personnel was due to an intensely bright meteor shower over southern England. Others claim that the servicemen had caught glimpses of light from the Orfordness Lighthouse, considered to be ‘the brightest lighthouse in the U.K.’
• But according to an anonymous source of UFO researcher Dr. David Clark, the entire Rendlesham Forest UFO incident was nothing but a “revenge hoax” by the British Special Air Service (SAS) on the US Air Force personnel stationed at RAF Woodbridge/ RAF Bentwaters. Knowing that the American servicemen might be influenced by recent revelations of the Roswell UFO incident in 1947, several SAS personnel allegedly parachuted onto the base to simulate an alien invasion as a joke. The US servicemen, however, captured the SAS soldiers; abused, beat, and humiliated them; and identified them as “unidentifiable aliens”. The SAS were angry at the treatment of their men and decided to plot their revenge by staging a real “alien invasion.” The SAS devised multi-colored flares rigged to go off at certain times in the forest while certain SAS personnel remote-controlled dark-colored helium balloons along with gliders and controlled kites to mimic a single moving craft.
• In spite of the first-hand accounts recorded by US military personnel, and discussions of these events by senior officers, the UK Ministry of Defense accepted the explanation that the Americans only saw glimpses of light from the Orfordness Lighthouse. The Brits deemed the incident as insignificant, posing no threat to national security, and therefore requiring no further investigation.
• The truth behind the Rendlesham Forest UFO incidents is not easy to unravel. The accounts from USAF personnel Sargent Jim Penniston, officer John Burroughs, officer Budd Stevens, Lt Colonel Charles Halt and others include descriptions of supernatural lights, triangular spacecraft as dense and as glossy as obsidian, and burned marks in the ground. What the witness reports suggest may be hard to comprehend, but that doesn’t necessarily make them a hoax.
Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction. The Rendlesham Forest UFO incident is without question one of
the strangest tales, defined by considerable evidence and also serious questions. On December 28, 1980, US Air Force deputy base commander Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt received word of bizarre sightings near and around the RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge airbases. These multiple first-hand observations of supernatural lights and craft sightings occurred during the dead of night and the truth behind these facts is by no means easy to unravel. What the Rendlesham Forest UFO incidents suggest are still hard to comprehend but that doesn’t necessarily make them a hoax.
The accounts from airmen personnel Sargent Jim Penniston, officer John Burroughs, officer Budd Stevens and others included vague descriptions of sightings ranging from unusual supernatural lights, triangular spacecraft as dense and as glossy as obsidian and burned marks in the ground. Although Penniston and Burroughs were perfectly clear about what they saw, their commanding officer told them to remain silent and not mention the full story in their report . . . until the sightings happened again. The second time word was sent directly to deputy base commander Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt, who was eating in the mess hall. The Lieutenant Colonel had no choice but to put aside his dinner and his doubt, grab his tape recorder, and see what was happening outside for himself.
The First Rendlesham Forest UFO Incident: What Was Seen?
The Rendlesham Forest UFO incident is one of the most famous UFO sightings ever recorded, almost as well covered as the Roswell crash of 1947. The Rendlesham incident has created a wide range of first-hand sightings, audio recordings, multiple reports, and continuous testimony. And this has created a popular phenomenon that keeps bringing UFO enthusiasts back to this forested area for more. But with so many angles and perspectives to this story, which are actually correct and what happened exactly? To understand all the evidence related to this extraterrestrial mystery, it is essential to review the key figures, variations to the story, and the primary alternative explanations of other experts. Only then can anyone reach an objective conclusion about what these reports are saying and what, ultimately, lies behind them.
Of all the accounts that exist, the most notable experiences came from Jim Penniston, John Burroughs, and Colonel Halt. They recounted bright burning multi-colored lights, mimicking a kaleidoscopic collage of red and blue lights, coming from a mysterious aircraft . This event took place on two consecutive days starting on December 26, 1980, for Penniston and Burroughs, and then again on December 28, 1980, for Colonel Halt and his team of soldiers. In both encounters, the mysterious aircraft reflected lights, hovered, landed, took off at alarming speed, and then appeared to “magically” dissolve or fade.
The First Incident: What Penniston And Burroughs Saw
On December 26, 1980, at the east gate of the RAF Woodbridge base, security patrol Budd Stevens and Sargent Jim Penniston saw strange, intensely bright fiery-red lights gleaming through the trees of Rendlesham Forest . When they reported their sightings at the guard shack, their commanding officer confirmed that something was detected descending into a small clearing near the forest’s eastern edge. It was then, at 3:00 am, that Penniston was given the order to investigate what was seen. Though Stevens stayed at his post, Penniston was accompanied by John Burroughs in a jeep to where the “bogie” reportedly landed. It was here that Burroughs and Penniston saw a mysterious glowing craft whose movement and speed defied the laws of physics . Despite its rapid speed hardly any sound was made by the craft. Of the two men, only Penniston provided a report on the sighting. In his statement, he said:
“…The craft was three meters tall, and about three meters wide at the base […] No landing gear was apparent, but it seemed like she was on fixed
legs… I moved a little closer… I walked around the craft, and finally, I walked right up to the craft. I noticed the fabric of the shell was more like a smooth, opaque, black glass…” (Young 2020)
But as they observed the craft it suddenly took off at full speed, heading towards a barn, causing further havoc as its bright lights disturbed the local wildlife and farm animals. Burroughs and Penniston raced after it, climbed over a fence, and then watched as the red and blue lights shining from the craft vanished as it passed the barn.
When both Penniston and Burroughs returned to the base, they were wary of writing their report of the incident for their commanding shift officer. Both decided to write a version that downplayed what they had seen. In their testimonies, they simply stated:
“…Saw a mechanical object with red, blue and white lights, but the craft disappeared before we could get a better look…” (Cutler and Castro 2019).
To their dismay, both Penniston and Burroughs were ordered to keep silent about what they saw. However, this command did not stop Penniston from returning to the area the next day to examine the landing site. On the forest floor, Penniston discovered circular impressions made by a heavy object, which were spaced 9.8 feet (3 meters) apart. He immediately made plaster cast impressions of the landing marks. Burroughs and Penniston also revealed that burn damage and broken branches were present near the indentations in the ground. Though their commanding shift officer told them to remain silent, the plaster casts and the tree damage made other servicemen extremely curious, turning the sight into a curiosity hotspot for military personnel.

• Recently, in Kagoshima City in Japan, ‘Chris M’ spotted a large bright UFO in the night sky above the urban area, with the silhouette of Sakurajima volcano behind. (see 2:20 minute video below) Some claim that they can see that the large UFO is being chased by smaller craft. As the shiny object zips from the right of the frame to the left, a group of smaller-looking lights that appear to be flying in a triangle formation appear and follow in its wake.
• Chris M sent his video to the YouTube channel ‘The Hidden Underbelly 2.0’. In the caption, Chris explains: “These objects were seen by the viewers of this live stream that is set up to monitor the Sakurajima volcano.” “That’s a fantastic capture, definitely one large one and then a smaller group following,” said one YouTube commenter.
• Another viewer commented: “Mother ship trying to fly away from her baby ships. In all seriousness though, it was very good footage”. “There’s always UFO activity near volcanos, like the one in Mexico,” wrote another fan.

• From the early 1950s until 2009, a department in the UK Ministry of Defence documented and investigated reports of UFOs. These documents, many of which were gathered by The Royal Air Force, had been sealed for 61 years and have been released following a Freedom of Information request. The files offer a head-spinning account of strange objects all shapes and sizes, detailed in over 620 sightings across the UK between 1959 and 2009.
• The very last UFO report published online by the MoD dates to 2009, and covers sightings that took place that year. A report dated January 2009 painted a vivid picture of a “a silver disc-shaped light”. Another one, in June that year, made mention of “up to 20 orange and red glowing lights”. In September, a witness described “three blazing gold orbs in a diagonal line in the sky”.
• One of the UK regions particularly noted for frequent “UFO sightings” over the years has been Lincolnshire, in the East Midlands. Lincolnshire was “a busy hub” for UFOs according to the MoD reports. Northern Lincolnshire witnessed more than 30 reports filed by the MoD over the years including 13 sightings in just one year.
• One Lincolnshire account described seeing a UFO with “a big red dome” and “suspicious” white lights, moving in a straight line. After being “stationary for some time, it … started moving making small erratic movements”. Another account described a quarter-of-a-mile long UFO with “three large green windows”. Yet another account depicts a “silver, cigar shaped object” with sharp “pointed wings”, a red light on one side and a green light on the other. After hovering, it swiftly disappeared.
• According to the declassified MoD files, London was at the top of the list with 54 sightings, followed by Kent (30) and Lancashire (24). The official documents are now available to read on the UK Government’s website (see here).

Article by Kenny Libben October 4, 2020 (richlandsource.com)
• On October 18, 1973, north central Ohio residents witnessed strange lights in the sky to the west over Charles Mill Lake (near Mansfield, just between Cleveland and Columbus). The next morning they were shocked to hear that a military helicopter also reported the lights in what is now known as the ‘Coyne Incident’. According to the Center for UFO Studies, the Coyne Incident is considered the most credible incident in a wave of sightings in 1973.
• At approximately 10:30 p.m. a UH-1H helicopter with the United States Army Reserve left Port Columbus en route to Cleveland Hopkins airport to the northeast. In command was Capt. Lawrence J. Coyne, a 36 year old pilot and with 19 years of flying experience. The front co-pilot was 26 year old 1st Lt. Arrigo Jezzi, a chemical engineer. Behind then sat Sergeant John Healey, 35, a Cleveland policeman and flight medic, and Sergeant Robert Yanacsek, a 23 year old computer technician.
• The night was totally clear, calm, and starry. The helicopter was cruising at 1,200 feet above the ground. Around 11 p.m., 10 miles south of Mansfield, Healey noticed a single red light to the west, flying south. A few minutes later, the red light turned toward the helicopter and began to rapidly approach. Coyne powered a descent of 500 feet per minute to avoid a collision, and contacted the National Guard aircraft tower in Mansfield to help identify the craft. Just as he heard the Mansfield Tower reply, all transmission was lost.
• Coyne increased their descent to 2,000 feet per minute but still could not outrun the approaching object coming right at them. Just as the crew braced for impact, the light halted and began hovering above and in front of the helicopter. Coyne, Healey and Yanacsek all described a cigar-shaped, slightly domed but otherwise featureless, gray metallic structure. Yanacsek described what appeared to be windows along the top of the dome. There was a red light at the bow and an indented white light at the stern, and then while the object hovered over the helicopter.
• Plexiglass windows in the helicopter’s roof allowed the flight crew to view the UFO as a green ‘pyramid shaped’ beam similar to a spotlight appeared — first passing over the helicopter’s nose and then up through the windshield and upper window panels enveloping the cockpit in green light. At the same time, the helicopter was being pulled up by the object for about 10 seconds. The UFO then accelerated off to the west, leaving the helicopter behind, before executing a turn and racing north over Lake Erie.
• The helicopter crew continued on to Cleveland, unable to determine what they saw. Coyne, who described himself as a skeptic of UFOs, admitted he couldn’t provide a reasonable answer for what happened. When Coyne contacted the Mansfield National Guard Tower, he discovered that they had no recordings of any contact with him that night — not even the initial contact — but did determine that no other aircraft were in the area at that time. Coyne had also noticed that during the incident his magnetic compass in the helicopter stopped working correctly. The maintenance crews were unable to fix it and had to replace the entire unit.
• The flight crew was awarded the National Enquirer Blue Ribbon Panel’s $5,000 award for “the most scientifically valuable report” of 1973.
LOUDONVILLE — On Oct. 18, 1973, north central Ohio residents witnessed strange lights in the sky to the west over Charles Mill Lake.

Mansfield also reported the lights in what is now known as the Coyne Incident. According to the Center for UFO Studies, the Coyne Incident is now considered the most credible incident in a wave of sightings in 1973.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. a UH-1H helicopter with the United States Army Reserve left Port Columbus, en route to Cleveland Hopkins airport, 96 nautical miles to the north-northeast. In command, in the right-front seat, was Capt. Lawrence J. Coyne. He was 36 years old and with 19 years of flying experience.
At the controls, in the left-front seat, sat 1st Lt. Arrigo Jezzi, 26 years old and a chemical engineer. Behind Jezzi sat Sergeant John Healey, 35, a Cleveland policeman who was the flight medic, and the crew chief, Sergeant Robert Yanacsek, 23 years old a computer technician.
The helicopter was cruising at 2,500 feet above sea level at an indicated airspeed of 90 knots, above mixed hills, woods, and rolling farmland, averaging an elevation of 1,200 feet. The night was totally clear, calm, and starry. The last quarter moon was just rising.
Around 11 p.m., 10 miles south of Mansfield, Healey noticed a single red light to the west, flying south. A few minutes later, Yanacsek reported a single red light on the southeast horizon, assuming it was a tower beacon or aircraft port wing light, until it then turned toward the helicopter and began rapidly approaching.
Coyne quickly powered a descent of 500 feet per minute, simultaneously contacting the National Guard aircraft tower in Mansfield to check if it was one of theirs, but after the initial contact of “This is Mansfield Tower, go ahead Army 1-5-triple-4” all transmissions were lost.
Meanwhile, Coyne increased their descent to 2,000 feet per minute at a speed of 100 knots, but still could not outrun the approaching object. Just as the crew braced for impact the light halted and began hovering above and in front of the helicopter.

What follows is my two part series of articles originally published on July 16 and July 19, 2009, on Examiner.com concerning the revelations of an alleged Navy Seal who spent time at the S-4 facility at Area 51, which he described as a museum for flying saucers and aliens. The former Seal claimed that guard duty at S-4 was used as a means of “cooling down” assassins used by the CIA to permanently silence government critics and/or remove national security threats.
The whistleblower, Derek Hennessy, used the pseudonym “Connor O’Ryan” in a set of interviews with Lt Col Wendelle Stevens in 1991 that was recorded on video. Hennessy/O’Ryan provided a number of documents supporting his testimony. This was especially important since the Seal claimed that records of his Navy service had been purged from official records in a similar manner to what had earlier happened with Bob Lazar in 1989.
Col. Stevens spent a decade verifying Hennessy’s story and supporting documents before he felt confident enough about their authenticity to come forward in 2001 to discuss his investigation at two UFO conferences in Australia and the US (International UFO Congress). He says that prior to the Australia conference he received a phone call warning him not to go too far in releasing the information, but that only convinced him that Hennessy/O’Ryan was telling the truth.
The subsequent release of the video interviews in 2009 (nearly two decades later), which were edited by Rick Keefe from UFO Hypotheses, provided the general public their own opportunity to hear Hennessy/O’Ryan’s story in his own words. I described some of the contents in my original two part series.
I began to assist Steven’s investigation of Hennesy/O’Ryan after watching the video interviews, researching some of the supporting documentation, and interviewing participants such as Jim Dilettoso, who gave Hennessy/O’Ryan sanctuary on his property where the interviews took place. In my last conversation with Col. Stevens, he said that Hennessy/O’Ryan had re-emerged, but had no memories of his earlier life.
Unfortunately, on September 7, 2010, Col. Stevens passed away at his home in Tuscon Arizona, effectively bringing the investigation of Hennessy/O’Ryan to an end. Now after a decade, it appears that the timing of Col. Steven’s death is suspicious given the renewed public interest in his investigation of trained CIA assassins recruited from elite military units such as Navy Seals.
Seymour Hersch had broken the news of a pool of CIA assassins linked to former Vice President Richard Cheney, as I discussed in my first article. Stevens’ information that these CIA controlled “Black Seals” were rested between assignments at highly classified facilities housing UFO related artifacts, and that Cheney had been sighted there, took on special new significance given Hersh’s revelations.
The six hours of video interviews provide extensive details of life on the S-4 facility, what is hidden there, how assassins are recruited and rested there, and of visiting dignitaries such as Cheney and former Director of the NSA, Admiral Bobby Ray Inman. The videos are available in three parts (Vol 1, Vol 2, Vol 3)
I am republishing both articles in the series today since they add considerable information on the historical reverse engineering efforts undertaken in the USA for the development of multiple secret space programs as described in my Secret Space Programs book series. With the demise of the Examiner.com back in 2016, both articles are difficult to find, even using the Wayback machine. They appear in their original form with minor grammatical editing and updates where appropriate [in square brackets].
Part 1 – Testimony of CIA Assassin Recruited from Navy SEALS Goes Online with Documents
On July 13 [2009], the New York Times ran a story about the CIA running an assassination squad using U.S military special forces against foreign terrorists without Congressional approval on the orders of former Vice President Dick Cheney. The Times story confirms claims by Seymour Hersh in March 2009 that an assassination squad had been created that reported directly to Cheney using special forces personnel.
The covert CIA project was shut down by CIA Director Leon Panetta when he learned of it on June 23. Details of the project were passed on the next day to the U.S. Congress and led to furor over the reports. A statement by seven members of the House Intelligence Committee concerning the CIA misleading Congress was subsequently released.
The covert CIA program allegedly began in 2001 soon after the 911 attacks. The unfolding revelations of CIA death squads using U.S. military special forces personnel coincides with the online release of video testimony of a former U.S. Navy SEAL who said he was recruited to perform 18 assassination assignments for the CIA.
If true, the Seal’s testimony reveals that covert assassinations predate the 911 attacks, and also targeted U.S. citizens. Curiously, the assassinations were related to covert projects Dick Cheney was allegedly involved in when he was Secretary of Defense for George H.W. Bush from 1989 to 1993.
Connor O’Ryan was a pseudonym used by Derek Hennessy who claims in video testimony recorded in 1991, that he performed covert missions for the CIA in the 1980s assassinating enemies of the United States. After joining the U.S. Navy in the early 1980s, O’Ryan/Hennessy claims he joined the elite Seals and was eventually tasked to perform his covert assassination missions.
He said that targets of the assassination hits even included U.S. citizens. He described his 18th and final mission as a sergeant for the U.S. Army Green Berets stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Budapest, Hungary.
O’Ryan’s/Hennessy’s extraordinary claims were investigated over a ten year period by a retired Lt Colonel with the U.S. Air Force, Wendelle Stevens. During his investigation, Stevens was able to confirm Hennessy’s military I.D. and that he was assigned to the CIA performing covert missions. Concerned that O’Ryan/Hennessy may have been part of an intelligence operation to discredit him, Stevens did not release the initial results of his investigation until 2001.
Video testimony of O’Ryan/Hennessy is included in a set of interviews conducted with Stevens released on the internet in 2009. In the interviews, Steven’s discussed documents he had in his possession verifying Hennessy’s covert CIA missions.
One document was written on CIA letter head (see above graphic) with instructions for O/Ryan/Hennessy on his last mission. Steven’s read out the document’s contents as follows:
You are to report to the American Embassy in Budapest, Hungary. You will be received by S.A. Greywolf. As a unit you will proceed to terminate an ex S.A. David T. Johnson.
According to Stevens, the document was O’Ryan’s/Hennessy’s final hit order one month before he left his last assignment at a secret facility in Nevada.
Another document is O’Ryan’s/Hennessy’s W-2 salary statement that showed he was earning $74,000 for the CIA. Though only a sergeant he was earning the equivalent of a colonel’s salary at the time. Steven’s was able to confirm that the serial number and code word on the W-2 were active through an anonymous FBI source.
In the video Stevens mistakenly refers to the salary statement as a W-4, but a copy of the W-2 is clearly shown [see below].
Combined with O’Ryan’s/Hennessy’s recorded video testimony, the documents, if genuine, would be smoking gun evidence that a CIA assassination squad using U.S. military personnel predated 2001 and even targeted U.S. citizens.
To date, neither of the documents has been released to the public. Only video images are available. Independent document authentication still has to be conducted.
The confirmation of the W-2 by an anonymous FBI contact of Stevens is powerful support for the legitimacy of O’Brian’s/Hennessy’s story.
There is good reason, however, to be skeptical about the CIA hit order document’s legitimacy. It is difficult to accept that the CIA would be so explicit in putting on CIA stationary orders to terminate a serving U.S. military non-commissioned officer.
One could reasonably argue that such orders, if put on paper, would be done in a more cryptic manner without the CIA logo. This would be consistent with an Assassination Directive that former CIA Director Allen Dulles allegedly drafted in 1961, and was later authorized by a group responsible for covert operations called Majestic-12.
The alleged Dulles’ Assassination Directive used the cryptic phrase “it should be wet” as a code word for assassinations designed to protect Majestic-12 operations.
If indeed there has been a CIA assassination program that predates 2001, it may originate from Dulles’ 1961 draft Assassination Directive. The directive was allegedly received by the chief of CIA counterintelligence, James Jesus Angleton in 1961, and subsequently linked to the President Kennedy Assassination.
If O’Ryan/Hennessy did eliminate a serving Green Beret in Budapest in 1991 as he claims, then the authority for such an assassination may derive from Dulles’ 1961 draft Assassination Directive.
If O’Ryan/Hennessy’s CIA hit order letter is a hoax, that raises an equally perplexing question. Why would Wendelle Stevens, a long time researcher of the UFO phenomenon, be targeted in an elaborate intelligence operation to discredit him with a contrived story about CIA assassins using elite military special forces personnel in 1991? O’Ryan/Hennessy spent an extended period hiding with Stevens and associates while allegedly on the run.
During this time, a series of events occurred that persuaded those giving shelter to O’Ryan/Hennessy that he was genuinely being monitored and threatened to return voluntarily to his program. Eventually, O’Ryan/Hennessy disappeared and was not heard of for approximately a decade when he re-emerged with a new identity, and no memories of his covert activities with the CIA.
If O’Ryan/Hennessy’s testimony is even partially correct, as Stevens’ confirmation of his W-2 suggests, it would confirm the existence of an assassination team run by the CIA prior to 2001. His testimony reveals that even U.S. citizens were eliminated due to agendas of a highly classified covert operations run out of the CIA. O’Ryan/Hennessy himself apparently become a target when he shared his information with Stevens and this may have been related to his disappearance.
For the last nine months of his military service during his final assassination missions, Hennessy was assigned to a covert facility in Nevada called S-4 to perform sentry duty for a highly classified covert project. It was there that he witnessed Dick Cheney arrive one day for an inspection for a project, maintaining the secrecy of, which was related to his earlier assassination missions.
To be continued …

Part 2 – Cheney taken inside S-4 to view flying saucers & EBE bodies
Around April 1991, Dick Cheney was taken inside a secret underground facility located in a remote area in Nevada adjacent to Nellis Air Force base to view captured flying saucers and dead extraterrestrial bodies. The startling claims were made by a former security guard at the facility who in October 1991 gave his testimony on video. The guard had documents and photos supporting his claims of working on the secret facility called S-4.
The guard, Derek Hennessy, used the pseudonym Connor O’Ryan in giving his testimony in a set of interviews with Lt Col Wendelle Stevens (USAF, ret.) and his associate Gem Cox. O’Ryan/Hennessy claims he had worked for 8/9 years as a Navy SEAL and performed various covert operations. He said that 18 of these missions were assassinations sanctioned by the CIA or other agencies. During the last nine months of his military service in 1991, he worked at the remote S-4 facility which had stringent security procedures. It appeared that the isolation and security at S-4 helped assassins hide their trail after missions.
O’Ryan/Hennessy described his work on the second level of the S-4 facility. S-4 employed approximately 75 personnel on levels 1 and 2. He said he was aware of a further two levels of the facility, but was never allowed to enter levels 3 and 4. He said that approximately 12-15 personnel worked at Levels 3 & 4. His primary duty was to guard the elevators to them which required three keys, a thumbprint and a retinal scan to open.
O’Ryan/Hennessy described the hangar facilities on level two for storing the seven flying saucers retrieved from various crash sites. There were ten hangar bays in total.
The facility was described as “the museum” suggesting it was designed to store advanced extraterrestrial technologies that had been superceded. He revealed how one or more of the flying saucers would be raised to the surface for a flight test. This would only occur when no Russian or other spy satellites were passing overhead. All testing would stop when satellites were detected.
He also described seven tubes with bodies of extraterrestrial biological entities (EBEs) typically described as Grays. A biologist would regularly check the fluids to maintain the right temperature and fluid mix to maintain the bodies. In addition to the photos he showed to two witnesses, O’Ryan/ Hennessy drew pictures in his taped interview describing the facilities.
O’Ryan/Hennessy described the day Cheney visited as around the time when the U.S. was closing military bases at the end of the Cold War. Cheney was accompanied by three other officials and escorted by two base security personnel. He said Cheney only visited the first two levels of the S-4 facility and saw both the flying saucers and the bodies of dead extraterrestrials. O’Ryan/Hennessy said:
I was on level two at the time of his visit … and I watched him go in and he went into the back building and we were called up to guard the front of the hangar areas. … He saw the bodies too – the seven little grey people.
A supercomputer and photo analysis expert, Jim Dilettoso, allowed O’Ryan/Hennessy to stay at his property for a month. Dilettoso said O’Ryan/Hennessy showed both him and Gem Cox photographs allegedly taken at S-4. He saw photos of what appeared to be extraterrestrial vehicles, and extraterrestrial bodies in glass tubes.
He also saw a photo with Dick Cheney standing on a balcony allegedly inside the S-4 facility viewing the area below with the flying saucers and bodies while O’Connor/Hennessy was allegedly on duty. Dilettoso also recognized the former Director of the National Security Agency, Admiral Bobby Ray Inman (USN ret.) as one of the officials in the photo with Cheney.
How credible is O’Ryan’s/Hennessy’s testimony? The most significant documentary evidence is the W-2 obtained by Stevens [see above]. The control number (45851), Employer Identification Number (95-6593572) and Employers State ID (2464423P) were checked and confirmed by Stevens’ FBI contact.
According to the FBI contact, O’Ryan/Hennessy had been “deprogrammed and reprogrammed” after being taken back in to covert programs by the CIA and Naval intelligence on various covert assignments. The W-2 and numbers can be investigated for independent confirmation.
Furthermore, O’Ryan/Hennessy revealed many details in his video testimony to Wendelle Stevens and Gem Cox about his background and events, that can also be investigated for corroboration. Finally, O’Ryan/Hennessy stayed for a month with supercomputer and photo analysis expert, Jim Dilettoso who along with Cox witnessed his photos and a duty roster that O’Ryan/Hennessy showed him.
Dilettoso also described a bizarre incident that changed his initial skepticism towards O’Ryan//Hennessy’s amazing story. Returning from a 1991 Thanksgiving party that O’Ryan/Hennessy attended, Dilettoso found a package at the inside front gate of his ranch. Thinking it was for him, Dilettoso took it.
When it was later opened, a severed finger was found along with a threatening note directed at O’Ryan/Hennessy to return photos and other evidence of S-4. Together with other strange episodes indicating close surveillance by a mysterious group of people, Dilettoso decided it was time for O’Ryan/Hennessy to leave.
O’Ryan/Hennessy says he decided to come forward after he was told that he had contracted a virulent form of Hodgkin’s disease. Being 29 at the time, and in good health with no history of the disease in his family, he suspected that he was being set up for elimination. In retaliation, he decided to become a whistleblower and release photographs taken at S-4.
O’Ryan//Hennessy’s remarkable testimony, if substantiated, clearly reveals that Richard Cheney while Secretary of Defense, had directly witnessed S-4, and covert programs involving extraterrestrial life and technology. That may explain why George Bush deferred to Cheney during the 2000 Presidential Campaign on a question concerning when UFO information would be released: “It will be the first thing he (pointing to Cheney) will do. He’ll get right on it.”
Alas, after a tumultuous eight years as Vice-President, Cheney never chose to disclose anything about his alleged visit to S-4, and knowledge of extraterrestrial life and technology.
