Most Americans Believe Intelligent Life Exists on Other Planets and We Have Nothing to Fear from UFOs

Article by Chris Ciaccia                                                         July 2, 2021                                                               (dailymail.co.uk)

• Prior to release of the Pentagon’s report on UFOs, Pew Research surveyed 10,417 American adults between June 14th and June 24th about the chances of intelligent extraterrestrial existing and even visiting the Earth. The findings were made public June 30th.

• Matching a separate survey released by CBS News in May (see ExoArticle here), nearly two-thirds (65%) of all Americans believe that extraterrestrials exist on other planets, and 87% of them think that extraterrestrials are not a threat to humankind one way or another.

• Fifty-one percent of respondents believe that the UFOs/UAPs reported by the US military are ‘likely evidence of intelligent life outside of Earth. Of these respondents, 40% believe there is ‘probably’ evidence of extraterrestrial life and 11 % believe there is ‘definitely’ evidence. Not surprisingly, those who think there is intelligent life outside Earth are more inclined to see military reports of UFOs as evidence of an extraterrestrial source behind those UFOs. On June 29th, after acknowledging that he had read the unreleased classified report, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said that he thinks ‘we’re not alone’.

• Additionally, 51 % of Americans surveyed by Pew think if it exists, extraterrestrial life is not a threat at all, while 36% perceive them as a ‘minor’ threat. Only one-in-ten say that UFOs are a ‘major threat to US national security’. In fact, 17 % said intelligent life would be friendly, 7 % said they’d be unfriendly, and 74 % said they are indifferent to us.

• Some segments of the public are more likely to believe in intelligent life on other planets. About three-quarters (76 %) of adults under age 30 say intelligent life exists on other planets, versus 57 % of Americans 50 and older. Men are slightly more likely (70%) than women (60%) to believe in intelligent life outside of this planet.

Nearly two-thirds of all Americans believe that extraterrestrials exist on other planets, but 87% of them think that they are not a threat in one way or another, according to a new survey.

Pew Research surveyed 10,417 American adults between June 14 and June 24 and found that 65 percent of respondents believe that extraterrestrials exist on other planets, a similar figure to a survey released by CBS News in May.

Fifty-one percent of respondents believe that unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) reported by the military are ‘likely evidence of intelligent life outside of Earth.’

Of that figure, 40 percent believe there is ‘probably’ evidence of extraterrestrial life and 11 percent believe there is ‘definitely’ evidence.

Conversely, 47 percent of respondents – believe the reports are probably (36 percent) or definitely (11 percent) not evidence of life outside this planet.

‘Perhaps not surprisingly, those who think there is intelligent life outside Earth are more inclined than others to see military reports of UFOs as evidence (69 percent and 16 percent, respectively),’ Pew wrote in a statement.

On Monday, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said that he thinks ‘we’re not alone’ after acknowledging that he had read the classified report.

Additionally, 87 percent of Americans surveyed by Pew think extraterrestrial life – if it exists – is not a threat at all (51 percent of respondents think) or a minor threat (36 percent).

Conversely, just one-in-ten say that UFOs are a ‘major threat to US national security.’

When asked for a best guess, 17 percent of respondents said intelligent life would be friendly, 7 percent said unfriendly and 74 percent said neither.

‘Some segments of the public are more likely than others to believe that intelligent life exists on other planets,’ Pew added.

‘This view is especially pronounced among younger Americans. About three-quarters (76 percent) of adults under age 30 say intelligent life exists on other planets, versus 57 percent of those 50 and older.’

International Coalition Aims to Get Answers About UFOs

Article by Christina Stock                                             May 26, 2021                                                  (rdrnews.com)

• On May 25th, UFO researcher and author Donald Schmitt was at the International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell, New Mexico to announce the start of a 27-nation (so far) coalition on extraterrestrial research called the ‘International Coalition on Extraterrestrial Research’, or ‘ICER’. The goals of ICER include establishing ‘awareness programs’ in all countries, to pressure governments such as the United States to disclose what they know, and “to prepare for confirmation that Earth has been engaging with non-human intelligences”.

• “Eventually, we will be 50 countries and then we’ll. No more talk, let’s do it,” says Schmitt. “Russia, China, Japan, [countries] throughout South America, throughout Europe, all are coming together. It’s never happened before and as far as it goes, we’re really going to push.”

• Schmitt is an expert on the 1947 UFO crash in Roswell, and has dedicated his life to solving the mysteries surrounding UFO’s. He returns each year for lectures during Roswell’s UFO Festival. He will be a guest speaker at the UFO Museum’s 2021 Ufologist Invasion, July 1-4, which takes place during the UFO Festival and MainStreet Roswell’s Alien Fest.

• ICER is a ‘not-for-profit’ organization comprised of scientists, academics and leading UFO researchers on five continents who are unanimous in their recognition that “we are not alone in the cosmos. Based on more than 75 years of research, ICER acknowledges that the UFO phenomenon is real; it acts with intelligence and is likely to be extraterrestrial/non-human in origin.” Among the researchers in the organization are astrophysicist and former deputy director of sciences at the Bulgarian Space Research Institute Professor Lachezar Filipov of Bulgaria, and astronomer Eamonn Ansbro of the Republic of Ireland, who is currently the director of Kingsland Observatory and SETI in Kingsland, Ireland.

• Schmitt said that many scientists and researchers are skeptical of the US military’s recent release of documents and leaked UFO videos. Of the thousands of pages of documents released, “Nothing is in there or (it’s) redacted, blacked out. It’s so frustrating for us,” he said. Scientists and researchers in other countries are facing the same difficulty finding answers from their governments and militaries. That’s why they’ve united to form the new organization.

• While there is no direct government involvement in ICER, the organization is recognized by the United Nations, “which means then that we can present at the UN,” Schmitt said. “We are going above individual governments.” Schmitt anticipates that the organization will grow. “I am the North American representative, and we had meetings in China, and then we met in Moscow. We put this all together. I had dinner in Moscow with two of the cosmonauts — we are getting people in pretty high places.”

Tourists visiting the International UFO Museum and Research Center on May 25 were

the International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell, New Mexico

greeted by the sight of a television crew interviewing renowned UFO researcher and author Donald Schmitt.

Schmitt, an expert on the alleged 1947 UFO crash on a ranch near Corona, has dedicated his life to solving the mysteries surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). He returns each year for lectures during Roswell’s UFO Festival.

Now, he’s joined with scientists and other researchers who have formed a new organization — the International Coalition on Extraterrestrial Research, or ICER — dedicated to finding the answers about UFOs.

“We just announced today (May 25) the start of an international coalition, 27 countries, an international coalition on

extraterrestrial research,” Schmitt said. “Russia, China, Japan, throughout South America, throughout Europe, all are coming

together. It’s never happened before and as far as it goes, we’re really going to push.”

Schmitt said that many scientists and researchers are skeptical of the U.S. military’s recent release of documents and of confirmations of cases of UAPs in leaked videos.

The thousands of pages of documents released, he said, don’t hold any details. “Nothing is in there or (it’s) redacted, blacked out. It’s so frustrating for us,” he said.

                       Eamonn Ansbro

Scientists and researchers in other countries are facing the same difficulty finding answers from their governments and militaries, he said. That’s what’s led them to unite and form the new organization.

Asked if any governments are involved, Schmitt said that wasn’t the case. “But we will be eventually recognized by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), which means then that we can present at the UN,” he said. “We are going above individual governments.”

Schmitt said that he is sure the organization will grow. “I am the North American representative, and we had meetings in China, and then we met in Moscow. We put this all together. I had dinner in Moscow with two of the cosmonauts — we are getting people in pretty high places,” he said.

US Military’s Need for Information Fueling Demand for Space Technology

Article by Sandra Erwin                                             April 25, 2021                                               (spacenews.com)

• In a clear sign that the demand for space-based capabilities is growing across the U.S. military, the US Army has announced plans to explore new uses of satellites and other space technology in support of soldiers on the ground. All the military services are looking at ways to use space to their advantage, said General David Thompson, vice chief of space operations of the US Space Force.

• The Space Force, created in 2019, is responsible for defending US satellites that foreign adversaries could target in a future conflict. Space Force also supports the US military with technologies like GPS navigation, satellite-based communications, surveillance and early warning.

• “Some people are jumping to the conclusion that they [the Army] will build and fly their own satellites,” said General Thompson. But other possibilities are being considered as well. The Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps all want “the ability to get information from space” regardless of how it’s acquired. Thompson said that military leaders are discussing options for how new capabilities could be funded and brought to fruition. “There’s a whole host of ways that they can obtain the data they need from space to enable their tactical operations.”

• It remains to be seen if future budgets will support the Pentagon’s growing space systems wish lists. Funding for space capabilities has increased in recent. Across the military, the services have concluded that space systems give them the ability to capture information and share it quickly with forces around the world. All the services, the combatant commands and the Joint Staff are “in the process of identifying requirements that they need, that they expect the Space Force to be able to provide,” Thompson said.

• The budget request the Biden administration will submit for fiscal year 2022 is mostly wrapped up but “there’s a lot of work to do inside DoD and with the administration and with Congress,” Thompson said. “I think we’ll be in… the position we kind of sort of expected to be in. The challenge will be to see how it’s going to evolve in the future.” “We’re all on the same boat.”

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Army last week announced plans to explore new uses of satellites and other space technology in

                 Gen. David Thompson

support of soldiers on the ground.

This is a clear sign that the demand for space-based capabilities is growing across the U.S. military, said Gen. David Thompson, vice chief of space operations of the U.S. Space Force.

All the military services are looking at ways to use space to their advantage, Thompson said in an interview with SpaceNews.
“Part of this is a recognition of how critical space capabilities and information from space is going to be to the fight,” he said of the Army’s announcement that it plans to invest in space systems.

The Space Force was spun out the Air Force in 2019 to give the military a dedicated branch focused on space. It is responsible for defending U.S. satellites that foreign adversaries could target in a future conflict, and the Space Force supports the U.S. military at large with technologies like GPS navigation, satellite-based communications, surveillance and early warning.

Thompson said Space Force and Army leaders are discussing options for how new capabilities could be funded and brought to fruition. “There’s a whole host of ways that they can obtain the data they need from space to enable their tactical operations,” said Thompson.

“Some people are jumping to the conclusion that they [the Army] will build and fly their own satellites,” he said. But other possibilities are being considered as well.

The Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps all want “the ability to get information from space” regardless of how it’s acquired, said Thompson.

“There is no question the Army recognizes that space capabilities, that information from space are vital to joint war fighting,” said Thompson. “It’s vital to the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Marines as well.”

Government Will Have to Share Info on UFOs

Article by Daria Bedenko                                           March 12, 2021                                        (sputniknews.com)

• As there has been “thousands” of reports of UFO/alien-related occurrences in the US military, and military pilots who “were afraid to report these strange things happening—for fear it would affect their advancement in the officer corps”, former Senator Harry Reid helped secure funding for UFO-studying efforts in the Pentagon. “The one thing that we established is that not a dozen people have seen these occurrences. Not 100 of them,” noted the former senator. “Thousands of people have seen them.”

• In August 2020, the Pentagon re-established a task force dedicated to investigating UFO sightings and alien-related incidents. It is unclear what the ‘Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force’ will be doing, but the Pentagon will soon have to provide members of Congress with what is currently known about the existence of UFOs and aliens.

• Whether UFO sightings are of an extraterrestrial origin or will be found to come from an Earth-bound adversary, people expect the task force to use sophisticated technology to find the truth. “Space travel is difficult—for many reasons,” says Dr. Joseph Pesce, an astrophysicist with the National Science Foundation’s division of astronomical sciences. “I’m not arrogant enough to think that we know everything about nature and the universe, and the laws of nature.” Dr. Pesce does not rule out the possibility of out-of-this-world ‘tools’ to be used to “understand the universe around us and our part in it.”

  former Nevada Senator Harry Reid

In 2020 the Pentagon established a task force dedicated to puzzling UFO sightings and

               military image of a UAP

several reports of alien-related incidents. With possible extraterrestrial activity long bothering the minds of both scientists and citizens, the new agency has only boosted curiosity around the “little green men”.

There have been “thousands” of reports of alien-related occurrences in the military, according to former Senator Harry Reid, who helped secure funding for UFO-studying efforts during his time at Congress, Nextgov reported.

“In the past, pilots were afraid to report these strange things happening—for fear it would affect their advancement in the officer corps”, Reid told Nextgov in one of the episodes of the podcast ‘Critical Update’.

         Dr. Joseph Pesce

He also noted that many people he randomly encounters at work often ask him about UFOs, and the report outlined that the government will soon have to provide members of Congress with what is currently known about allegations of the existence of aliens.

“The one thing that we established is that not a dozen people have seen these occurrences. Not 100 of them. Thousands of people have seen them”, the former senator noted.

In August 2020, the Pentagon announced the formation of a task force dedicated to what is believed to be UFO-related issues. Although it is unclear what the so-called Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force will be doing, some are hyped about the mysteries in space that could potentially be solved.

US Military ‘Knows’ What the Mystery Red Lights Seen in 2020 Are

Article by Simon Green                          April 17, 2020                           (dailystar.co.uk)

  • So far this year, several videos have surfaced online appearing to show a collection of lights hovering in formation above US cities. Sometimes, a light will have a red appearance.
  • Gary Heseltine is a former Detective Constable in Britain who is currently a “UFO hunter” and the editor of UFO Truth Magazine. He worked for the British Transport Police for 24 years before setting up the Police Reporting UFO Sightings database, where he claims to have more than 500 reports of UFO sightings from police officers dating back to 1901.
  • While the videos of strange lights in the sky are often explained as Chinese lanterns, Heseltine said, “Lanterns flicker from a fire base and they can only move at the whim of the wind.” “[T]hese clips do not seem to be those.” “They can’t create formations which these lights appear to do.”
  • Heseltine says that sightings of a collection of lights in the sky have been reported since the 1980s, but the red appearance of the 2020 videos is far more unusual. He ruled out theories that the lights were forming one single craft, instead saying “they are multiple objects”.
  • “In my view we only know 10% of the UFO jigsaw in the public domain, the other 90% lies in the secret world of intelligence services and governments,” says Heseltine. He speculates that these lights are remote drones, “but not man-made.” “As to their purpose, I don’t know,” but “I am sure that some people in the US military do know what these objects are.”

A small number of military personnel can explain the mystery fleet of lights seen across the US, a former police detective has claimed.

Since the beginning of the year, several videos have surfaced online appearing to show a collection of lights hovering in formation above US cities.

           mystery lights over Texas

From just the beginning of March, residents in Texas, Washington, Michigan and California have all posted videos appearing to show the objects in the sky – with many taking on a red appearance.

Following the huge surge in sightings, Daily Star Online spoke to Detective Constable-turned UFO hunter Gary Heseltine.

“I am sure that some people in the US military do know what these objects are,” he said.

“I speculate that there are remote drones but not man-made.

“As to their purpose, I don’t know.”
