• British pilots have reported dozens of “near misses” with UFOs in the skies over the United Kingdom. Investigations by the UK Airprox Board showed 36 such near misses involving aircraft and ‘unknown objects’ since May 2017 – with nearly a quarter of them involving a “high risk” of collision.

• On July 5, 2018 at around 9:30 am, the pilot of a small propeller aircraft reported a small “rectangle or elliptical object pass 500 to 1,000-ft below” the plane as he was cruising at around 16,000-ft about 10 nautical miles north of Birmingham. “There was no time to take any avoiding action.”

• The pilot of an Airbus A321 was flying at around 900-ft on final approach to Birmingham Airport “when he saw an object pass directly beneath the aircraft”. The pilot said that the object, which passed about 25 feet below the plane, “was either some sort of balloon or drone”. The Board listed this one as a category ‘A’ high risk of collision event.

• The Civil Aviation Authority says the vast majority of reports involved drones, model aircraft or balloons – although it is against the law to fly drones above 400-ft and close to airports.

• Nick Pope, who investigated UFO sightings for the Ministry of Defence in the 1990s, says the authorities may be “missing a trick by being too quick to blame drones”. Most unidentified objects were sighted at altitudes much higher than drones would typically or can legally be flown.

• The UK Airprox Board has a significant number of such accounts and there are numerous reports in the MoD’s UFO files. Pope says that, “In most cases, sightings turn out to be birds, weather balloons, plastic bags or bin liners, or Chinese lanterns, while some are indeed attributable to drones. However, other cases remain unexplained even after thorough investigation, and this is of concern.” “[I]t raises important defense, national security and – as we see here – air safety issues.”

• Dr David Clarke, from the Centre for Contemporary Legend at Sheffield Hallam University, is not convinced the sightings are of intergalactic spacecraft. “Things that are unexplained are likely to be natural phenomenon – not aliens from other planets.”

• David Taylor of the Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena believes we should be cautious about witness testimonies of strange objects in the sky. “The majority of all anomalous reports – I would say around 95 per cent – are explainable in rational terms, either with known phenomena (misidentification, drones, birds, military tests etc.) and currently little understood phenomena (ball lightning, earthquake lights etc).” But, Taylor says, “[W]e must resist the temptation to dismiss them all out of hand.”

 

A close encounter with a mystery object in the skies near Birmingham was among dozens of baffling near misses reported by pilots in UK airspace, a Newsquest data investigation has revealed.

Investigations carried out by the UK Airprox Board show 36 such near misses involving aircraft and ‘unknown objects’ have been reported in UK skies since May 2017 – and nearly a quarter involved a high risk of collision.

One of the reports tells how the pilot of a BE90 small propeller aircraft saw a “rectangle or elliptical object pass 500 to 1,000-ft below” the plane as he was cruising at around 16,000-ft about 10 nautical miles north of Birmingham.

The incident happened on July 5, 2018, at around 9.30am, and the report states the pilot estimated the object to be 50-100cm long and it was “either hovering or travelling in the opposite direction” but “he only saw it for about 2 seconds before it passed underneath the aircraft”.

The Board, which monitors close calls between aircraft and other objects in the skies such as drones and balloons, determined the risk of collision was low but the report stated: “There was no time to take any avoiding action.”

Another incident involving an ‘unknown object’ was listed as a category A high risk of collision event and the report says the pilot of an Airbus A321 was flying at around 900-ft on final approach to Birmingham Airport “when he saw an object pass directly beneath the aircraft”.

It says the reported separation between the aircraft and the unidentified object was just 25-ft vertically and it adds that the pilot “thought it was either some sort of balloon or drone”.

The Board concluded there had been a definite risk of collision but it was not able to ascertain whether the object was a drone or a balloon so it was listed as ‘unknown’.

• Nick Pope (pictured above), a British investigator who headed up the UK’s Ministry of Defence’s UFO investigation desk, has just released a film called ‘Indistinguishable From Magic’ which explores what might happen if we encountered beings from outer space. The film is a “deeply personal look at the question of how first contact with extraterrestrials might unfold,” said Pope.  (see 1:25 minute movie trailer below)

• “The possibility of open first contact no longer seems like science fiction,” says Pope. “[A]nd while a few cynics may still think the subject is a joke, those of us who’ve looked at this from within government aren’t laughing.” “[I]n the past few months… the US Congress and the mainstream media have learned what many of us on the inside already knew, namely that whatever the true nature of the UFO phenomenon, it raises critical defense and national security issues.”

• The film looks at the implications of alien contact with particular focus on extraterrestrial technology in weaponry, interstellar travel and energy generation. Extraterrestrial creations are likely to be so advanced that we humans would be totally unable to understand them.

• Pope says that Hollywood sci-fi movies have convinced people that when we make open contact with extraterrestrials, their technology will only be around a hundred or two hundred years ahead of ours. But “given the age of the universe, there could be civilizations out there with millions or even billions of years’ head-start on us. Their power would be indistinguishable from the power of the gods that religious people worship, and their technology would truly be indistinguishable from magic,” as coined by science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke.

• To get a sense of just how advanced alien technology would be, just think about the distances involved in space travel. Our fastest space probe would take around 70,000 years to get to the nearest star outside our solar system. Any alien craft that reached the Earth would have to be designed using incomprehensibly advanced technology. Pope says that “We aren’t going to be able to figure out alien technology millions of years ahead of our own.”

• Nick has been accused of secretly working for the government, and pushing the ‘threat angle’ of alien contact with this new film. “Some internet pundits have labeled my film ‘propaganda’ and ‘fear-mongering’,” says Pope. “The accusation is that I’m still secretly working for the government and that my new film is part of a deep state plot to talk up the possibility of an alien invasion, to help the Military Industrial Complex get more funding, while also building support for President Trump’s Space Force.”

• “The accusations are nonsense,” Pope insists. “I do support the creation of a Space Force, on the basis that space will be a key battle space in any future war.” But no, “I’m not talking about a war with aliens!”

The film has been released amid growing interest in ‘unidentified aerial phenomena’ – the official name for UFOs.

Over the past two years, details of a secret US research project called Advanced Aerospace Threat and Identification Program (AATIP) have slowly leaked into the public domain, suggesting there really is something strange happening in our skies.

“‘Indistinguishable from Magic’ is a deeply personal look at the question of how first contact with extraterrestrials might unfold,” Pope told Metro.

“The revelations about the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (the subject of my previous documentary, Aliens at the Pentagon), recent US Navy encounters with UFOs, and the fact that several US Congress members have received classified briefings on this make Indistinguishable from Magic a timely film.”

“The possibility of open first contact no longer seems like science fiction, and while a few cynics may still think the subject is a joke, those of us who’ve looked at this from within government aren’t laughing.”

“What’s happened in the past few months is that the US Congress and the mainstream media have learned what many of us on the inside already knew, namely that whatever the true nature of the UFO phenomenon, it raises critical defence and national security issues.”

The film sets aside arguments about whether UFOs are real and looks at the implications of alien contact, with particular focus on three aspects of extraterrestrial technology: weaponry, interstellar travel and energy generation.

Nick added: “I avoided getting bogged down in an attempt to prove UFOs were extraterrestrial and simply said: ‘Let’s assume humanity is imminently going to make first contact’.”

“From there, all sorts of questions arise, and my film explores the answers to some of these questions.”

‘I Was Scared to Death’: New Account Given of Rendlesham Forest UFOs

• During the 1980 Christmas party at the twin Royal Air Force bases, RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge, in Suffolk, England, US Air Force servicemen stationed at the base were sent out to investigate strange goings on in the nearby Rendlesham Forest. The American witnesses have since maintained stories of encountering a strange craft in the woods.

• Nick Pope, the UFO desk officer for Britain’s Ministry of Defence between 1991 and 1994, said, “The Rendlesham Forest incident is the most compelling of the approximately 12,000 UFO cases investigated during the lifetime of the MoD’s UFO project, and it remains unexplained to this day.” It has since been nicknamed the ‘UK’s Roswell’.

• Retired US Air Force Sergeant Michael Stacy Smith served in the 81st Airborne Police Squadron at the twin RAF bases in 1980. Smith was 19 years old at the time, and has never spoken publicly about his alien encounter until now. 
Speaking to website The Analysis, Sgt. Smith spoke of a number of incidents which took place in Suffolk only weeks before the well-known incident in late December of 1980.

• “In November of 1980 I had my first incident. Our base went on alert, I was called out to the barracks,” said Smith. “They assigned me to a post behind the east gate on Woodbridge. So they dropped me off and I got into the bunker.” Then he had to take a pee. “I was standing on the edge of the bunker, peeing, and I looked off in the forest and you could see an orange, glowing light down in the woods.”

• “It was an orange – reddish glowing ball. Bigger than a beach ball, and it had a cats eye in it,” says Smith. “I thought what the hell is that? At first I thought it was someone with a lantern walking through the woods, looking at our planes. It stopped right in front of me. It just stayed there and hovered two feet off the ground.” Smith called for reinforcements who couldn’t believe what they saw. Then the object disappeared. “I was scared to death,” said Smith.

• In a separate incident Sgt. Smith recalled seeing strange shapes in the vicinity of RAF Bentwaters. “You could see coming from the south of Bentwaters… was a triangular shaped craft. It was blueish in the middle and had white around the edges of it. It was just above the tree line of Rendlesham Forest.” “I don’t care what anyone says, it was real.”

• Nick Pope agrees that “These new revelations are fascinating, though difficult to evaluate, especially given that nearly 40 years have passed since these events.” “As this new interview shows, whatever these military witnesses experienced was truly bizarre and had deep and lasting effects – both physical and emotional – on some of the individuals concerned.”

 

A new account of alien encounters in Rendlesham has been made public for the first time.

• The Mutual UFO Network, or ‘MUFON’, celebrates 50 years of UFO investigation and research. Based in Irvine, California, the all-volunteer, nonprofit organization has endeavored since 1969 to be the ‘refuge seeking answers to that most ancient question, are we alone in the universe?’ The answer, very simply, is no.

• Jan Harzan has been the executive director for MUFON since August 2013. “I’ve seen these craft. I know they are real,” he told Space.com. “I can’t tell you where they’re from. …But they are advanced technology.” Harzan continues, “We have over 100,000 UFO cases in our files … and it’s growing. We currently have worldwide over 500 certified MUFON field investigators that go out and look at each one of these cases.”

• A MUFON Science Review Board consists of scientists with degrees in physics, chemistry, geology and electrical engineering. Their work experience includes NASA, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and France’s national space program, CNES. The MUFON Board reviews the best cases and strongest cases that cannot be identified as any known object.

• Nearly 34% of reports coming into MUFON can be identified, be they aircraft, rocket launches, satellites, drones, astronomical events, or even Chinese lanterns. For example, Google’s Project Loon uses high-flying balloons to bring Wi-Fi internet to rural areas. It has repeatedly prompted UFO reports. “But on the other hand,” says Harzan, “when you read some of the reports – we call it the 5% – one out of twenty – that are incredible observations by very articulate and credible people, you get about 5% of cases that are so rock solid.”

• Harzan says that these extraterrestrial beings have advanced physics that we don’t yet understand, and which our current science is incapable of understanding. “I personally believe,” says Harzan, “once we do, we’ll be out there doing the same thing that they are doing. We’re probably 20 to 30 years away from being the aliens.”

• Former UFO investigator for the U.K.’s Ministry of Defence, Nick Pope compares the UFO community, and the MUFON subset, to a “broad church” – a group of people who have a range of different views, yet bound together by a common interest. As in the UFO community, MUFON has had its disputes and feuds. Pope maintains that “None of this detracts from the fact that [MUFON] provides a valuable service to UFO witnesses, with field investigators looking into the sightings, sometimes turning up a conventional explanation and other times simply giving perplexed witnesses someone with whom to engage.”

• “MUFON is clearly at a disadvantage,” Pope says, “given that most of their members are nonscientists.” But he doesn’t think this is necessarily a problem. MUFON provides the necessary day-to-day business of investigating UFOs, with interviews, evidence gathering, tracking down leads, and double checking facts. “Scientific advice should be sought when necessary – for instance, if a soil sample needs to be checked for radioactivity,” Pope said. “I don’t think we should get too hung up on whether or not MUFON as a whole is sufficiently scientific.”

• It is becoming harder to weed out and identify “real” UFOs, Harzan admitted. In 1987, MUFON fired two investigators who labeled some MUFON-endorsed Gulf Breeze photos as a hoax and disavowed their report. This caused a stir in the organization. In 2017, MUFON lost a number of experienced investigators when they invited proponents of the breakaway “secret space program” to participate in its symposium panels in Las Vegas. Robert Sheaffer, a leading UFO skeptic says, “MUFON proclaims its dedication to the scientific method in UFO investigations, but it seldom lives up to that ideal.”

• Sheaffer also points to MUFON providing cases for the producers of the TV series “Hangar 1”, which premiered in 2014 on The History Channel, which was “almost universally panned by serious UFO investigators for its sensationalist approach. “However, it too has been extremely successful in bringing people into MUFON,” said Sheaffer.

• [Editor’s Note]   I like this Jan Harzan. Harzan says that no, we are not alone. He isn’t afraid of allowing for an extraterrestrial explanation. He reports that “nearly 34% of reports coming into MUFON can be identified”, therefore 66% are not identified. And that “5% – one out of twenty – are “incredible observations by very articulate and credible people.” “Rock solid.” I agree that MUFON is no less a valid UFO organization than the “scientific” organizations such as SETI, or academic institutions such as Harvard, Oxford and the Smithsonian Museum. In fact, I prefer these citizen investigations and tend to trust their reports. These are people who are motivated by getting to the truth, and they are not likely to be bought off or influenced by Deep State agents. On the other hand, the aforementioned organizations and institutions are an obvious front for the Deep State, predisposed to refute and deny any existence of extraterrestrial UFOs at all.

 

In July, the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) celebrates 50 years of investigating and promoting research on the unidentified flying object phenomenon. The all-volunteer, nonprofit, science-based organization has endeavored since 1969 to hunt down answers about baffling vehicles of unknown origin.

Based in Irvine, California, MUFON makes its credo clear-cut on its website: “Our goal is to be the inquisitive minds’ refuge seeking answers to that most ancient question, ‘Are we alone in the universe?’ The answer, very simply, is no. Whether you have UFO reports to share, armchair UFO investigator aspirations, or want to train and join our investigation team, MUFON is here for you. Won’t you please join us in our quest to discover the truth?”

After five decades, has there been any scientific pay dirt in studying UFOs? Are we inching closer to the truth that is perhaps out there?

Big leap

Assuming that weirdness in the sky represents an alien visitation is a big leap. But who knows?

It is becoming harder to weed out and identify “real” UFOs, Harzan admitted.

Old beliefs

Harzan said that the No. 1 stumbling block to advancement as a civilization is holding on to old beliefs. Is our science even capable of understanding what UFOs truly represent?

“We have to be able to let go of some old beliefs, because maybe the way we think the universe works isn’t how it really works,” Harzan said. “I personally believe that these are extraterrestrial beings that have advanced physics that we don’t yet understand. And once we do, we’ll be out there doing the same thing that they are doing. We’re probably 20 to 30 years away from being the aliens.”

Leaked Top Secret Pentagon Video Shows UFO Taking Down a Plane

• A “Top Secret” video dating back to 1985 has been leaked by a former Pentagon official only known as “Person X.” The video posted by Rumble Viral on YouTube (see 3:22 minute video below) shows an alleged “hostile UFO” of “extraterrestrial origin” shooting down a commercial airliner on October 26, 1985. According to Rumble, this Top Secret video clip is just one of many hundreds of videos that were associated with the Pentagon’s “Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program.”

• The Pentagon confirmed that it studied UFOs under the “Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program” (AATIP), but that the program closed in 2012. However, a spokesman for the DoD, Christopher Sherwood, admitted to the New York Post that the Pentagon still investigates alleged UFO sightings. Said Sherwood, “The department will continue to investigate, through normal procedures, reports of unidentified aircraft encountered by US military aviators in order to ensure defense of the homeland and protection against strategic surprise by our nation’s adversaries.”

• Former British government defence official who secretly investigated UFOs, Nick Pope called this a “bombshell revelation.” Said Pope, “Previous official statements were ambiguous and left the door open to the possibility that AATIP was simply concerned with next-generation aviation threats from aircraft, missiles and drones, as skeptics claimed. This new admission makes it clear that they really did study what the public would call ‘UFOs.”

 

The Pentagon which is the US Department of Defense (DoD) headquarters has finally admitted they do investigate UFOs.

In a statement exclusively to the New York Post a spokesman for the DoD said a Top Secret government initiative called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) “did pursue research and investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena.”

Despite the DoD saying the AATIP programme was closed in 2012, Christopher Sherwood, spokesman for the DoD said they still investigate alleged UFO sightings.

He said, “The Department of Defense is always concerned about maintaining positive identification of all aircraft in or operating environment, as well as identifying any foreign capability that may be a threat to the homeland.

“The department will continue to investigate, through normal procedures, reports of unidentified aircraft encountered by US military aviators in order to ensure defense of the homeland and protection against strategic surprise by our nation’s adversaries.”

Ministry of Defence Releases Final ‘X Files’ Containing the Truth About Britain’s Secret UFO Investigations

• Over the past 11 years, the British Ministry of Defence (MoD) has declassified 60,000 pages exposing the secrets of a government investigation into unexplained UFO sightings over the UK. In April, the last pair of files were published and made available to the public at the British National Archives.

• The latest files to be released do not contain a smoking gun which proves the existence of aliens. But they reveal fascinating aspects of investigators’ attempt to understand the phenomenon. They expose bitter arguments between a conservative MoD division that imposed a policy of secrecy with UFOs and the more open-minded Defence Intelligence Staff (DIS), resulting in a total breakdown of communications.

• Said Nick Pope, former MoD UFO investigator, “The (released documents) show how a ‘skeptic versus believer’ debate was raging at the MoD, with a total breakdown in relations.” The policy division was overly-concerned about what the media and the public might think, while the DIS wanted to conduct more in-depth research and investigation into the phenomenon.

• In America, details of a secret research program called AATIP showed that the US government has studied sightings of advanced aircraft and ‘exotic technologies’ including wormholes, antigravity, invisibility cloaking, warp drives and high energy laser weapons. Investigators have even explored the health ‘consequences’ of close encounters.

Over the past 11 years, the MoD has declassified 60,000 pages exposing the secrets of a government investigation into unexplained sightings over the UK. In April, the last pair of files were published and made available to the public at the National Archives in Kew, where they must be viewed in person because they have not yet been digitised. The latest files to be released do not contain a smoking gun which proves the existence of aliens, but they reveal fascinating aspects of investigators’ attempt to understand the phenomenon. They expose bitter arguments between a division that set the policy on UFOs and the Defence Intelligence Staff (DIS) resulting in a total breakdown of communications. The team which set policy on UFOs was shown to be cautious and worried about what the public might think of a probe into unexplained aircraft spotted in the skies, whilst the DIS was more open-minded and called for further investigation into the mystery.

Nick Pope, a former MoD UFO investigator, has been studying the files and said they also demonstrate the UK’s influence on the US, where ‘bombshell revelations about the US Navy’s encounters with UFOs have moved this subject out of the fringe and into the mainstream’. He told Metro: ‘These last two files are particularly fascinating and I can understand why sensitivities over their contents may have delayed their release. ‘They show how a sceptic versus believer debate was raging at the MoD, with a total breakdown in relations between the division that set the policy on UFOs and the Defence Intelligence Staff (DIS), who provided the lead division with scientific and technical intelligence.

Is Rudloe Manor the British Equivalent of America’s Roswell?

• Underneath the typical English estate of Rudloe Manor (pictured above) are over two million square feet of underground tunnels, created during the 1930’s when Rudloe’s quarry was mined for Bath Stone. During the second world war, Rudloe Manor housed the Royal Air Force in these underground tunnels. The British government confiscated Rudloe manor and surrounding properties during WWII to build a munitions dump. However, Rudloe Manor was never released by England’s Ministry of Defense.

• Rudloe Manor is situated in the center of Wiltshire county where the majority of crop circles have been found. It is also home to Avebury Henge and Stonehenge, both Neolithic structures that are older than the Egyptian pyramids, and to ancient mounds, prehistoric sites, and burrows. This makes Wiltshire county a “window area” location that is prone to UFO sightings.

• After the famous American writer Dorothy Kilgallon wrote a newspaper article about a UFO crash in the 1940s, Rudloe became Britain’s version of Roswell. Kilgallon said she received her tips from an unidentified high-ranking British official who claims that the crashed spacecraft and its alien crew were gathered up by the British government and secreted away. Kilgallon died under rather mysterious circumstances. Is it possible that Kilgallon was silenced because of what she knew about the Rudloe UFO? Or was it because she was on the verge of discovering the plot surrounding the JFK assassination? No one is certain. All of her research on both JFK’s murder and the information about the British UFO crash went missing.

• On January 23, 1974, locals claimed that a spaceship crashed in the Berwyn Mountains in Wales, UK. The military were there in an instant to sanitize the area. The government claimed that it was simply an earthquake. Later they changed it to a meteorite to account for the bright lights that the local population saw in the sky that night. Declassified documents indicate that the British government does indeed know about the Berwyn Mountain UFOs, and theorists claim that the remains of the Welsh craft were taken to Rudloe Manor.

• In Season 12, Episode 3 of History’s “Ancient Aliens”, Giorgio A. Tsoukalos and former Ministry of Defense employee Nick Pope pay a visit to Rudloe Manor and the Corsham Computer Center (CCC) which is two miles away and connected to Rudlow Manor by the tunnel system. Tsoukalos found the site encircled by barbed wire fencing with patrol dogs and security cameras. A few minutes after his arrival, the local police show up and order the film crew to stop filming and leave the site. The MOD claims that the site is simply a data processing center for the Royal Navy. But there is no sign stating that this is Navy property. All of the secrecy points to a cover-up. In Season 12, Episode 3 of Ancient Aliens, the mystery of Rudloe Manor is explored at depth. At first glance, the Rudloe Manor looks like any other English estate, but underneath the house and property, there are over two million square feet of underground tunnels.

The tunnels were created during the 1930s when Rudloe’s quarry was mined for Bath Stone. The mineral mined was used to build the nearby city known as Bath. During the second world war, Rudloe Manor housed the Royal Air Force (RAF) in her underground tunnels.

Now, this is where the mystery begins. England confiscated Rudloe manor and surrounding properties during the war to build munitions dumps. However, unlike other private installations used by the military during the war, Rudloe Manor was never released from England’s Ministry of Defense (MOD).

It was rumored that Rudloe was Britain’s version of Roswell because an American reporter and writer Dorothy Kilgallon had written a newspaper article about a crash in the 1940s. Kilgallon titled “One of the greatest women writers in the world” by Ernest Hemingway was known to have some of the most powerful contacts in the world. Although, Kilgallon had no proof of anything she wrote.

According to Kilgallon, she received her tips from a high-ranking British official who wished to remain unidentified (surprise…surprise). Neither the American or British government have been transparent when it comes to the subject of UFO’s which gives us reason to believe that something strange happened at Rudloe.

Like Roswell, the spacecraft remains along with the aliens were gathered up by the British government and secreted away. Ancient alien theorists believed that to be Rudloe Manor.

The Pentagon Finally Admits It Investigates UFOs

• In an ‘about face’, US Department of Defense (DoD) spokesman, Christopher Sherwood, was uncharacteristically open and honest with the NY Post about the fact that the Pentagon’s $22M ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’ which ran from 2007 to 2012 was intended to study UFOs – or “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAPs) as they call them now – and continues to investigate extraterrestrial UFO reports. • “The department will continue to investigate, through normal procedures, reports of unidentified aircraft encountered by US military aviators in order to ensure defense of the homeland and protection against strategic surprise by our nation’s adversaries,” said Sherwood.

• Former UFO investigator for the UK’s Ministry of Defence, Nick Pope, called the DoD’s comments a “bombshell revelation.” “Previous official statements were ambiguous and left the door open to the possibility that AATIP was simply concerned with next-generation aviation threats from aircraft, missiles and drones — as skeptics claimed,’ said Pope. “This new admission makes it clear that they really did study what the public would call ‘UFOs.’ ”

• John Greenewald Jr., of ‘The Black Vault’ government document archival website, called the Pentagon’s use of the term “unidentified aerial phenomena” unprecedented in its frankness. “I’m shocked,” said Greenwald “… they’ve seemingly worked very hard not to say that.” “[N]ow we have actual evidence — official evidence — that said, ‘Yes, AATIP did deal with UAP cases, phenomena, videos, photos, whatever.’” “[A]t least we’re one step closer to the truth.”

 

The Pentagon has finally uttered the words it always avoided when discussing the possible existence of UFOs — “unidentified aerial phenomena” — and admits that it still investigates reports of them.

In a statement provided exclusively to The Post, a Department of Defense spokesman said a secret government initiative called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program “did pursue research and investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena.”

And while the DOD says it shut down the AATIP in 2012, spokesman Christopher Sherwood acknowledged that the department still investigates claimed sightings of alien spacecraft.

“The Department of Defense is always concerned about maintaining positive identification of all aircraft in our operating environment, as well as identifying any foreign capability that may be a threat to the homeland,” Sherwood said.

“The department will continue to investigate, through normal procedures, reports of unidentified aircraft encountered by US military aviators in order to ensure defense of the homeland and protection against strategic surprise by our nation’s adversaries.”

The US Navy Secretly Designed a Super-Fast Futuristic Aircraft Resembling a UFO, Documents Reveal

• The US Navy applied for three patents in 2016. One of them was for a “craft using an inertial mass reduction device”, and it was granted last year. US Navy scientist Salvatore Cezar Pais filed the patent. The theoretical craft would use an ‘inertial mass reduction device’ generating artificial gravity waves. With this reduction in mass, it thereby lessens the object’s resistance to motion, or ‘inertia’, and is able to travel at a much greater velocity in water, air or even space.

• ‘It is possible to reduce the inertial mass and hence the gravitational mass, of a system/object in motion, by an abrupt perturbation of the non-linear background of local space-time,’ the patent states. ‘This hybrid craft would move with great ease through the air/space/water mediums, by being enclosed in a vacuum plasma bubble/sheath.’

• The craft described in the patent features a cavity wall filled with gas, which is then made to vibrate using powerful electromagnetic waves. This then creates a vacuum around the craft, allowing it to propel itself at high speeds.

• Earlier this year, it was revealed that US government researchers investigated wormholes, antigravity, invisibility cloaking, warp drives and high energy laser weapons during an official but covert probe into ‘unexplained aerial phenomena’ called the Advanced Aerospace Threat and Identification Program (AATIP). The program allegedly ended in 2012. Details of AATIP were first released in 2017.

• Nick Pope, former UFO investigator at the Ministry of Defence, noted that this patented design was “uncannily similar” to the ‘tic tac UFO’ that was reported by Navy jet pilots from the USS Nimitz off of the coast of San Diego in 2004. The pilots saw a huge patch of churning, turbulent water suggesting something was beneath the surface, and then a tic tac UFO that accelerated at an ‘impossibly’ high speed. Pope also said that a similar incident of a UFO flying underwater occurred in Puerto Rico in 2013. “It’s possible that the patent is inspired by the incident and is part of an attempt to work out the technology behind the objects that were chased by the Navy F-18s. This is known as ‘reverse-engineering’,” says Pope.

• The Navy patent also mentions Dr. Harold Puthoff, a key figure in AATIP who commissioned the 38 papers exploring exotic propulsion system technologies, which were used in Defense Intelligence Agency briefings filed with the US Congress. This is the type of “technology that we’d need for interstellar travel,” Pope added. “These patents might be the first steps in taking humankind to the stars.”

• Another Navy patent was for a “high-frequency gravitational wave generator”. “If they have built the technology described in the patents, I’m sure the program is highly classified,” said Pope. “The bottom line is that if any of this works, we’re in game-changing territory.”

• Although the US Navy applied for the patent in 2016 and it was granted last year, it doesn’t necessarily mean the craft has been built and tested. However, the technology is further evidence of the military’s interest in developing ‘exotic’ technologies.

• The list of titles to the 38 declassified documents generated under the Advanced Aerospace Threat and Identification Program (AATIP) that were released last year show that investigators studied ‘exotic technologies including wormholes, antigravity, invisibility cloaking, warp drives and high energy laser weapons’. Now it’s claimed that AATIP also explored the health ‘consequences’ suffered by people who witnessed UFO incidents.

• One of the studies was called ‘Field Effects on Biological Tissues’. Former head of the Ministry of Defence’s UFO investigation desk, Nick Pope, says that this is likely to be the paper which explored the health effects of close encounters. Pope also points to a statement made by AATIP scientist Dr Hal Puthoff, speaking of a Brazilian Air Force investigation that included “…a lot of medical injuries when people encountered these (UFO) craft at close range.” Pope says that this is confirmation that the Pentagon’s AATIP program looked not only at UFOs but also at close encounters and alien abductions.

• Pope goes on to say, “I can’t prove it, but from sources close to this I’m almost certain that part of this work involved getting blood and DNA samples from close encounter witnesses – including at least one and maybe two witnesses to the UK’s infamous Rendlesham Forest incident.” “I believe this was done in a way that disguised the fact that this was for a US intelligence program, with witnesses being told that they were participating in a scientific or academic study.”

Did Top Secret Pentagon ‘Stargate’ Letter Convince Senator John McCain Alien Invasion Was Imminent?

• On January 16th, a declassified DIA/Pentagon letter dated January 9, 2018 addressed primarily to the late Arizona Senator, John McCain, as the Chairman of the Armed Services Committee, (see letter with attached list of 38 DIA-commissioned program titles here) was released pursuant to a Freedom of Information request. The letter contained the titles of ‘a bewildering litany of otherworldly research papers commissioned from scientists around the globe’.

• Unless the Russians or Chinese have torn a wormhole through the fabric of space-time with a laser weapon recently, it isn’t they who have the Pentagon delving into invisibility cloaking, dark energy, stargates, multidimensional manipulation, meta-materials, laser weapons, quantum entanglement and “controlling external devices in the absence of limb-operated interfaces”. Who were the academics and scientists writing these advanced technology research papers for the U.S. government and why?

• Many of the academics who wrote the ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’ (AATIP) research papers were already part of the now-defunct “National Institute for Discovery Science”, which was well-known for its studies of UFO sightings, extraterrestrials and other “fringe” topics. Nevada businessman and UFO believer, Robert Bigelow founded the NIDSci. Bigelow’s friend, Nevada Senator Harry Reid, initiated the 2007 AATIP study, and it was Bigelow Aerospace which won the AATIP contract to manage its research.

• The largest single source of these Pentagon academic reports is EarthTech International of Texas, whose CEOs have close ties to Robert Bigelow and Bigelow Aerospace.

• One AATIP report on the topic of ‘Invisibility Cloaking’ was penned by the respected German scientist, Dr Ulf Leonhardt. Leonhardt is a noted global expert on quantum optics, which juxtaposes the fact nothing actually exists with photon manipulation. One day, this may potentially allow a military force to enter a country without being seen.

• Another AATIP author is former NASA propulsion engineer, Marc Millis. Millis claims he had an unexplained visionary experience where a ‘being’ produced a ball of energy which then entered his body. After attending a Silicon Valley venture capital event in 1999, Millis left NASA to pursue exotic technologies.

• While the Pentagon spent $22 million on its Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, Nick Pope – formerly the “Fox Mulder” of Britain’s own governmental UFO research department during the 1990’s, notes that, “It still doesn’t give us a definitive answer to whether, as claimed, ‘foreign advanced aerospace weapon threats’ is coded language for UFOs.”

• Although it’s unknown if the AATIP paper convinced Senator McCain of a viable alien threat, it’s certain that former US President Ronald Reagan believed in such a possibility. Reagan’s numerous mentions of aliens in speeches marked him as a blatant “UFO-nut” hiding in plain sight. During the 1985 Geneva Summit, Reagan and Soviet premier Mikhail Gorbachev had a private chat. Years later, Gorbachev revealed that Reagan had simply asked him to set aside their differences in case the world was invaded by aliens. Reagan made public his concerns in a 1987 U.N. speech, saying, “I occasionally think how quickly our differences would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world. Yet, I ask you, is not an alien force already among us? What could be more alien to the universal aspirations of our peoples than war and the threat of war?”

• [Editor’s Note]   This is a typically snarky British Deep State response to the revelation that the Pentagon brass and top politicians take the type of exotic propulsion and other technologies exhibited by UFOs very seriously. While describing the origins and authors of the Pentagon’s AATIP research from 2007 to 2012, the writer employs ridicule and derision to portray the AATIP authors as a bit unhinged, debunking the motive of commissioning such research programs, and condemning the reports as a waste of time and money. Even the article’s title makes a joke out of an alien invasion. And therefore, it is a waste of time for anyone to take the Pentagon’s exotic propulsion and technology programs seriously. In other words, don’t believe the evidence you see before you, believe us (the Deep State) when we tell you that none of it matters. Life will continue as it is with fossil fuel engine propulsion, and any new technologies will only come to the public in small drips … and you’ll like it.

 

“THERE are a number of people here who know everything on that screen was absolutely true,” said the President. A wave of nervous laugher rippled through the White House’s private cinema room. Ronald Reagan, however, never broke a smile, his solemnity immediately silencing the intimate audience of esteemed guests – Neil Armstrong, Steven Spielberg, high-ranking military personnel and the upper echelons of Nasa among them. It was 1982 and the group had just been treated to a special pre-release screening of ET: The Extra-Terrestrial.

Despite its rather outré nature, this tale is no urban myth – although some details have been embellished over the years. One retelling even has Reagan weeping on Spielberg’s shoulder as ET “went home”. Having since confirmed the event indeed took place, the legendary director has also admitted he remains unsure if Reagan was being honest with his guests – or simply pulling off deadpan surrealism better than Rikki Fulton or Jacob Rees-Mogg.

One thing is incontrovertibly true – if Ronald Reagan had intimate knowledge of extra-terrestrial visitations to Earth, then he certainly knew they weren’t friendly, doe-eyed botanists. Without even taking his bizarre satellite-laser “Star Wars” missile defence system into consideration, Reagan’s numerous mentions of aliens in speeches marked him as a blatant UFO-nut hiding in plain sight. One turning a blind eye to the Pentagon burning through tens of millions of taxpayer dollars investigating “foreign advanced aerospace weapons”.

Yet, if such research – carried out under different guises by the US military since Project Blue Book in the 1950s – was simply to ascertain the threat from traditional Russian or Chinese bogeymen, then it seems they were a wee bit more technologically advanced than previously thought.

This week, the Pandora’s Box of top secret Pentagon documents was declassified under a Freedom of Information request – a single five-page letter containing the titles of a bewildering litany of otherworldly research papers commissioned from scientists around the globe.

The titles of these academic studies certainly don’t concur with commonly accepted Russian technical malevolence like vote rigging and web trolling. Certainly, research into invisibility cloaking, dark energy, stargates, multidimensional manipulation, meta-materials, laser weapons, quantum entanglement and “controlling external devices in the absence of limb-operated interfaces” seems more like a Philip K Dick fever dream.

If nothing else, the document – addressed primarily to the office of late Senator and former pilot John McCain, who also had a considerable interest in colourful accounts of unusual aviation – certainly proves the Pentagon had been trying to get their heads around the true nature of a somewhat peculiar security threat. And unless the Russians or Chinese have torn a wormhole through the fabric of spacetime with a laser weapon recently, it wasn’t them.

Uni lateral thinking

THE exotic nature of some of the research papers commissioned by the US military’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) would raise a quizzical eyebrow on even Vladmir Putin’s Botox-irrigated deathmask.
It’s certainly reaffirmed the suspicions of the global Ufology community, who only learned of the research papers’ existence last week after the AATIP letter ended up on the desk of Nick Pope, ex-head of the UK Government’s official UFO research project. Colloquially known as Britian’s “Fox Mulder”, the affable Nick immediately teased true believers on Twitter with some ambiguous speculation, saying: “It still doesn’t give us a definitive answer to whether, as claimed, ‘foreign advanced aerospace weapon threats’ is coded language for UFOs.”

• More than two years since the mysterious death of British conspiracy theorist Max Spiers (pictured above), while in Warsaw, Poland as a guest speaker a UFO conference, a British inquest has concluded that Spiers died from a combination of pneumonia and drug intoxication, causing an “aspiration of gastric contents” – an explanation for the copious amount of black liquid that Spiers expelled at his death, further fueling conspiracy theories. A post-mortem examination by a pathologist in Kent found deadly levels of the opioid oxycodone in his system.

• Spiers had made a career out of investigating alleged government cover-ups of UFO sightings and revealing his findings at various conferences. Spiers spoke of a secret underground alien base in New Mexico that used children for their “pure energy”. In Warsaw he was scheduled to discuss “secret military programs”.

• Shortly before his death, Spiers texted his mother, Vanessa Bates, claiming he feared being murdered and urging her to “investigate” if anything happened to him. But after his death, Polish authorities didn’t carry out a post-mortem. Spiers’ family were told that he had died of natural causes. Many in his immediate circle of friends claimed extra-terrestrial involvement in his death, or governmental mind control, or the involvement of a satanic cult. For his friends in the conspiracy community, the results of the British inquest only deepened the mystery as to what happened to him. His friend and fellow UFO researcher Miles Johnston told HuffPost UK: “It’s a cover story for ordinary folk.”

• According to the inquiry’s conclusion, while in Warsaw that fateful summer of 2016, Spiers (39) met Monika Duval (50), fell in love and moved in with her. Earlier that summer, Spiers and Duval had traveled together to Cyprus. When Spiers discovered that the Turkish version of the anti-anxiety drug Xanax could be obtained without a prescription, he had Duval purchase the pharmacy’s entire stock. Spiers was found to have taken about 10 of the tablets on the day he died. Spiers had developed an addiction at the age of 18 after being prescribed opioids following a traffic accident. It was also revealed that Spiers had been addicted to heroin and crack cocaine. Duval said she had noticed he often felt ill while staying with her and that “sometimes he felt weak and had problems with focus and attention.” She said he had once spent a day in a deckchair in her garden “unconscious.” Spiers died in her home on 16 July 2016.

• Immediately after his death, Miles Johnston told BBC Radio Four that Spiers had been working to expose “enemies within other realities.” Johnston believes Spiers was a “super-soldier” who was being directed through mind control by the British government. “He was a weaponized system to be engaged in with some kind of warfare.” Johnston heads ‘The Bases Project’, which believes humanity and all life on earth will be wiped out by a predator species within three generations. Says Johnson, “We’re dealing with aliens. We’re dealing with a predator within humanity, a fifth column, which has been successful so far in causing us a great deal of damage and harm. People like Max were involved in exposing that fifth column. He knew he was going to die. He knew he was in a trap. He told his mother that.”

• Spiers’s former girlfriend, Sarah Adams (also purported to be a British-controlled “super-soldier”), remembers things differently. Shortly after his death, she told The Sun he had been held against his will in Poland, in a house surrounded by electric fencing. She claimed that he had wanted to come back to England to marry her and have a child. “He rang me secretly because they wouldn’t let him talk to me. They were doing very dark black magic and satanic rituals to ‘de-program’ him and get rid of demons,” she claimed. Adams says that she is now being blamed for Spiers’s death.

• Nick Pope, a former agent of the British Ministry of Defence who ran a government UFO project, said, “The theory in the conspiracy theory community seems to be that he was assassinated by the powers that be, for getting too close to some truth or truths that the Illuminati, the New World Order – or whoever today’s bad guys happen to be – didn’t want revealed. It’s faulty thinking, because predictably, he and his theories became better-known after his death than before.” Refuting intervention by the Illuminati, Pope said, “It’s a tragic case of a young man with a history of addiction, suffering from pneumonia and taking a variety of medications. It’s a desperately sad story, but unfortunately not an unusual one.” Pope finds it almost impossible to dissuade conspiracy-minded people, however. “It’s a deeply held, almost religious belief that I think some of these people have and you can talk very few people out of their religion and faith.”

• For Spiers’ mother, the inquest has allowed her to finally grieve her son. Though she respected and admired his work, she did not subscribe to his beliefs. “He had a belief system. A lot of what he questioned, I would have agreed with him on when it came to the government. It’s when it got into other worldly things that I couldn’t follow, I don’t hold those beliefs myself.” She added, “The pneumonia was clearly a massive aspect of his death, which I hadn’t realized. In a way, it was good to know that.”

 

When British conspiracy theorist Max Spiers died suddenly in Poland in 2016, it wasn’t surprising that his community of fellow sleuths and UFO hunters thought it was suspicious. Soon after his death, rumours of “black liquid” emerging from his body spread across the internet.

Spiers, 39, had made a career out of investigating alleged government cover-ups of UFO sightings. He was well known, spoke at conferences, and believed there was a secret underground alien base in New Mexico that used children for their “pure energy”.

That summer in 2016, he had travelled to Warsaw to talk at a conference about “secret military programmes”. There he met a woman, Monika Duval, 50, who he soon moved in with. But two months later, however, Spiers was texting his mother claiming he feared being murdered and urging her to “investigate” if anything happened to him.

He died in her home on 16 July 2016. But after his death, the Polish authorities didn’t carry out a post-mortem, and his family were told that he had died of natural causes. In the absence of a full investigation, many in his immediate circle claimed extra-terrestrial involvement in his death, or governmental mind control, or the involvement of a satanic cult.

Now, more than two years on, an inquest in Britain recorded a narrative conclusion, giving Spiers’s cause of death as pneumonia and intoxication by drugs, which caused an “aspiration of gastric contents” – an explanation for the black liquid that had fuelled so many conspiracies. A post-mortem examination carried out by a pathologist in Kent also found deadly levels of oxycodone, an opioid, in his system.

For his mother, Vanessa Bates, the long-awaited inquest has brought a sense of closure, after she fought hard for an investigation into her son’s death. It was also revealed that Spiers, who was a former classmate of the Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom, had been addicted to heroin and crack cocaine.

Duval, who had attempted to resuscitate Spiers after he stopped breathing, said she had noticed he often felt ill while staying with her and that “sometimes he felt weak and had problems with focus and attention.” She said he had once spent a day in a deckchair in her garden “unconscious.”

She added: “I would have done anything to save him, I really cared about him. I was deeply in love with him,” she told the inquest.

Why hasn’t Google Updated Images of a Military Base in 8 Years?

• Google Earth images had not updated the images of the Tonopah Test Range, located 70 miles from Area 51 in Nevada, for over eight years – until just recently. Many believe that the secretive military installation is the proving grounds for the development of alien technology and re-engineering of otherworldly aircraft.

• Nick Pope, the former head of the Ministry of Defense’s UFO program in the U.K., appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show on Fox News to discuss the Tonopah Test Range blind spot on Google Earth. (see 5 minute video below) The question was raised that if Roswell involved a derelict weather balloon, and not a UFO crash as the government continues to assert, then why so are there still so many documents pertaining to UFOs from 50 years ago that remain classified? What “military secrets” are associated with downed weather balloons?

• Pope says that Congress is starting to ask questions. The Senate Armed Services Committee is officially looking into the Navy videos of UFOs that were made public in December of 2017, and the House Armed Services Committee is researching the Pentagon’s AATIP program that also made headlines at that time. Pope also contends that President Trump must have some information on extraterrestrial UFOs, as it is rumored that this is why the “Space Force” is being created.

 

UFOs have captured the minds of the American public since the Roswell crash in 1947. With the recent exposure of the government’s Advanced Aerial Threat Identification Program and the compelling evidence that unidentified aerial phenomenon does exist the interest has intensified.

UFO Sightings May Be Falling, but Congress is Still Paying Attention

• The Senate Armed Services Committee of the U.S. Congress is looking into a 2004 incident where US Navy pilots flying with the USS Nimitz strike group encountered, chased and filmed fast-moving unidentified objects. Reliable sources say at least two of the military pilots involved have already been interviewed. The House Armed Services Committee also received a DIA briefing on the Pentagon’s “Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program” UFO project.

• The AATIP was the brainchild of the then Senate majority leader Harry Reid, and much of the work was contracted out to Bigelow Aerospace, run by former budget hotel magnate and believer in extraterrestrial visitation, Robert Bigelow. Now, some of the people formerly involved with the project, including the DIA official who ran it, Luis Elizondo, have joined “To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science”, fronted by Tom DeLonge, the former vocalist/guitarist of the pop punk band Blink-182. Their mission is “to explore exotic science and technologies … that can change the world”.

• The UFO phenomenon should not be judged by number of sightings, which has decreased, but by the compelling nature of the evidence: reports from pilots on different flights; visual sightings corroborated by radar; photos and videos regarded as genuinely intriguing by intelligence community. The term “UFO” itself has become as obsolete, usually referring to an extraterrestrial “flying saucer”, which may or may not be the case. The new “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” (UAPs) is a term not automatically associated with ETs.

• But Congress needs to get past debates over terminology and statistical analyses to focus more on the quality of reports in a far more meaningful assessment of the phenomenon. Irrespective of the outcome, these might turn out to be the most fascinating Congressional hearings in history.

In parallel, the House Armed Services Committee is taking an interest. Records from April show the committee received a Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) briefing on the Pentagon’s UFO project, the cryptically-named AATIP. We know so little about AATIP that there’s even dispute over whether the acronym stands for Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program or Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program. The very existence of the project caused a sensation, because until the New York Times broke the story in December 2017, the US government claimed it had not investigated UFOs since the 1960s when sightings were looked at in a study called Project Blue Book.

As noted in the Guardian recently, data from two civilian UFO research organisations show that the number of reported sightings has fallen in recent years. However, there’s no single, global focal point for reports (the Ministry of Defence stopped investigating UFOs in 2009) and statistics will never tell the full story.

It would be better if the phenomenon were assessed and judged not on numbers alone, but by focusing on cases where we have compelling evidence: independently submitted reports from pilots on different flights; visual sightings corroborated by radar; photos and videos regarded as genuinely intriguing by intelligence community imagery analysts. Irrespective of the methodology we use to assess the phenomenon, how can we do so in an even-handed way when the subject has so much pop culture baggage?

Aliens At the Pentagon: Does the Government Know We Are Not Alone?

• Aliens at the Pentagon, a documentary video just over an hour long and released by Reality Entertainment, features the former UFO anomaly researcher for the UK’s Ministry of Defence, Nick Pope, guiding the viewer through an examination of the U.S. Pentagon’s Advanced Aerial Threat Identification Program (AATIP), which the Department of Defense disclosed in December 2017, on a quest to determine whether Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAPs) are real.

• The documentary begins with the AATIP’s historical roots in Project Sign, which became Project Grudge, which became Project Blue Book, all purportedly searching for the truth behind UAPs (the hip new term for UFOs). Thirty-eight years after Blue Book was terminated, Nevada Senator Harry Reid created the AATIP at the behest of his friend and government contractor, Robert Bigelow. The AATIP covertly studied UAPs between 2007 until 2012.

• The person heading up the AATIP was former DIA and DoD employee Luis Elizondo. Elizondo’s mission was to determine what these UFOs were, whether they posed a threat to national security, and to discover the advanced technology behind them. He was responsible for the release of the Tic-Tac and Gimble UFO videos to the New York Times which ran an article on it in December 2017. Elizondo also stated that there were “meta materials” originating from “beyond earth” that were being tested at Bigelow Aerospace.

• The AATIP concluded that UFOs are capable of “metric engineering” space and time. Their exotic propulsion systems warp the continuum creating a “bubble” effect which enables the craft to fly incredible distances. The program developed a list of identifiable characteristics that were inherent in all reported encounters with UFOs:
– The craft travel at hypersonic velocities.
– They have a low observability factor.
– UAPs have sudden and extreme acceleration capabilities.
– Trans-medium travel abilities such as able to fly into the ocean or out of the ocean.
– Positive lift or what is known as anti-gravity propulsion.

• But was the AATIP itself a deliberate distraction intended to keep us from discovering the real truth? Is there a Majestic 12 Group running things behind the scenes which even the AATIP couldn’t identify? And is MJ-12 in the business of recovering and reverse engineering extraterrestrial craft? By releasing bits and pieces of information, videos and photographs, is the government acclimating the public to the existence of life beyond the Earth? Is it all a distraction while the Illuminati cabal institutes a subversive “New World Order”?

• According to Elizondo’s resignation letter to his DoD superiors, there is evidence that these UAPs pose a potential “existential threat to our national security.” Is Elizondo aware of a deep government secret that these visiting extraterrestrials harbor ulterior and malevolent motives? A UFO expert who investigated alien sightings for the UK Government has drafted a contingency plan for the day humans discover extraterrestrial life.

Nick Pope, who worked for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) between 1985 and 2006, says the world is incredibly underprepared for the eventuality of extraterrestrial contact.

Whether humans discover alien microbes on Mars or detect radio signals from a distant civilisation, Mr Pope said “top-level strategic planning” needs to be readily available.

He wrote: “In scientific terms, this danger is described as ‘back contamination’ and is part of ‘planetary protection’ policy.

“In NASA, this falls under the Office of Safety and Mission Assurance (OSMA).

“In the event of any sample-return or discovery-return mission, Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) will wish to seek robust assurances that the lead agency – probably NASA, but maybe the space agency of another nation, or a private company such as SpaceX – has appropriate biological hazard containment protocols in place.”

Earlier in August, Mr Pope told Express.co.uk world governments are making a “big mistake” by not preparing for this eventuality.

• Luis Elizondo, who ran the Pentagon project, said researchers concluded some of the UFOs are using time-travel jumps to achieve such speeds and dramatic movements.

• Pope believes the investigation by the U.S. armed service committee could lead to a major public hearing which would be a “political bombshell”. “Some committee members and staffers may have been angered that they were kept in the dark about AATIP, not least because the US government had previously denied there was any official interest in UFOs,” said Pope.

• “(Congressional) hearings should probably go wider than just looking at AATIP, and should look at the UFO phenomenon as a whole,” said Pope. “It would be a great opportunity to get to the bottom of the UFO mystery.”

Luis Elizondo, who ran the Pentagon project, said researchers concluded some of the UFOs are using time-travel jumps to achieve such speeds and dramatic movements.

Nick Pope, who probed the UFO phenomenon for the Ministry of Defence, believes the investigation by the US armed service committee could lead to a major public hearing which would be a “political bombshell”.

Mr Pope said: “I think the powerful House Armed Services Committee was as fascinated and mystified by the revelations about the Pentagon’s UFO project as everyone else.

“Some committee members and staffers may have been angered that they were kept in the dark about AATIP, not least because the US government had previously denied there was any official interest in UFOs.

• Now, a letter obtained by George Knapp’s KLAS ‘Las Vegas Now’ I-Team written June 24, 2009 by then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to William Lynn III, Deputy Secretary of Defense has revealed the US government’s exploration of ‘disruptive aerospace technologies’. Without mentioning aliens or UFOs, the letter confirms that the US Senate ordered an assessment of ‘far term foreign aerospace threats’. These include ‘extremely sophisticated concepts within the world of quantum mechanics, nuclear science, electromagnetic theory, gravitics [anti-gravity], and thermodynamics’.

• Senator Reid warns in his letter that these technologies ‘have the potential to be used with catastrophic effects by adversaries’, but that ‘much progress has been made with the identification of several highly sensitive, unconventional aerospace-related findings’.

• ‘Ultimately, the results of AATIP will not only benefit the US Government but I believe will directly benefit the Department of Defense in ways not imagined,’ Senator Reid wrote. ‘The technological insight and capability gained will provide the US with a distinct advantage over any foreign threats and allow the US to maintain its preeminence as a world leader.’

• Former UFO investigator for the British Ministry of Defence, Nick Pope, said the document reveals just how seriously the US government takes the issue of ‘futurist technology’ and the associated threats and opportunities. Pope had previously said that the AATIP looked at UFO sightings as part of a wider intelligence assessment of the threat from next-generation aircraft, missiles and drones, and the ‘novel military applications’ that we felt might be derived from a fuller understanding of the phenomenon.’

Documents relating to a highly sensitive investigation government project called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) confirm that the US has studied a range of futuristic technologies which would allow it to exercise global military dominance for decades to come. This programme is dedicated to exploring ‘ unexplained aerial phenomena’ and is believed to have written a 490-page report which collects together UFO sightings from around the world. The world first heard about AATIP last year, when footage of an encounter between an F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet and an oval-shaped UFO travelling at astonishing speed was released.

UFOs Are Real and Often Narrowly Miss Crashing Into Planes

• Aliens, UFOs and death rays sound like the stuff of science fiction. But from his 21 years with the UK’s Ministry of Defence, Nick Pope (pictured above) knows that UFO’s are real and that our government leaders take them very seriously. The recent disclosure of MoD documents show that the UK government has spent 50 years investigating alien technology.

• Pope says that while the majority of UFO sightings could be explained, but around five per cent remain mysterious. And there are several cases of near-misses between UFOs and commercial aircraft. Pope also got to look into other X-File types of cases such as crop circles, alien abductions, ghost sightings, and psychic phenomenon.

• The declassified MoD documents revealed that the Russians had put a lot of effort into researching and investigating not just UFOs, but parapsychology – telekinesis (moving objects with the mind), psychic phenomena and similar things.

• The British military viewed this in terms of threats and the possibility that “novel military applications” might result from a better understanding of UFOs. It was suggested that UFOs might not objects, but rather the result of changes in energy in the atmosphere. This raised the intriguing possibility of channeling this energy to develop a death ray weapon.

• All the while, the Americans were conducting their own research through a Pentagon program called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. Some declassified videos surfaced of US Navy jets chasing UFOs. 

• If anyone was laughing about UFOs before, they’re not laughing now. Those who have looked at this subject from within the government knew better. RAF pilots had seen UFOs and occasionally chased them. The MoD had gun camera footage similar to the declassified US Navy videos. Radar operators tracked UFOs from time to time, and the speeds and maneuvers were astounding.

• The MoD told Parliament, the media, and the British public that UFOs were of “no defense significance”. However, this was a meaningless soundbite designed simply to get people off our backs, said Pope.

 

ALIENS, UFOs and death rays sound more like the stuff of science fiction than the subjects of top-secret government briefings… but I know from my 21 years at the Ministry of Defence that our leaders take these threats more seriously than they let on.

I also learned from my time there that UFOs are real. And I should know, because my job throughout the nineties was to investigate them.

World UFO Day fell last week, and it was very clear that the usual scepticism and ridicule had been replaced with a far more serious tone.

This may be helped by the fact that details recently emerged of MoD documents showing the UK government’s interest and involvement in UFOs – and suggesting that we had spent 50 years investigating the possibilities of developing alien technology.

I worked on these files and came out of retirement to help with the MoD’s release project – the decade-long declassification of top-secret papers – which concluded in January.

And while the Official Secrets Act binds me for life, now that the government itself is releasing more details of my old MoD job, I can give people an insider’s perspective on what we really got up to.


From UFOs almost crashing into planes to alien abductions

The bottom line was that we knew UFOs were real, but we didn’t know what they were.

The majority of UFO sightings could be explained, but around five per cent remain mysterious.

The cases that concerned me most were the near-misses between UFOs and commercial aircrafts – there are several such cases in the MoD’s UFO files.

What was much more fun was the other weird stuff that came our way simply because there was nowhere else in government to send it: crop circles, claims that people had been abducted by aliens, ghost sightings and people who claimed to be psychic and volunteered their services to British intelligence.

But is it really true, as the latest declassified files suggest, that we were racing against the Russians and the Chinese to acquire alien technology and develop some sort of super-weapon?

Not quite, but the reality is almost just as bizarre.

UK Government is Withholding Three UFO Files, Former Ministry of Defence Employee Claims

• In 2008, the British government started to release its UFO files to the public in the hopes of being as transparent as possible. The release process was expected to take three years at most. According to Nick Pope (pictured above), a former employee at the UK Ministry of Defence, three files still haven’t been made public. “I’m extremely disappointed that ten years after the release of the first files, the project is still incomplete,” said Pope.

• Mr Pope noted that the files have been sent backwards and forwards between the MoD and the British National Archives at least twice, adding to people’s suspicions. “A lot of people think the government is covering up the truth about UFOs, and this unfortunate situation is only adding fuel to the fire with regard to these conspiracy theories.”

• Mr Pope added that while he and his colleagues took the issue of UFOs seriously, they were often forced to ‘spin’ the subject for the media, ‘disingenuously stating that the subject was of “no defence significance”‘.

 

While UFOs are often seen as objects that belong in the imagination of conspiracy theorists, the British Government has taken them very seriously for years.

Beware ‘Demonic’ Aliens: UFO Probes in US, UK Hampered by Religious Fears

• On May 4th, Luis Elizondo, the former US intelligence officer who ran the Pentagon’s UFO program known as the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, stated on the CBS affiliate television station’s news show “Las Vegas Now” that the program’s closing in 2009 had more to do with offending senior officials’ religious beliefs than budget pressures.

• Nick Pope, a former UFO investigator with the UK’s Ministry of Defense (MoD), told the Metro UK that he “…was aware that Pentagon pushback on UFO research was in part due to the religious belief of some of those involved.” “It was an odd irony that UFO investigations were being hampered because some people’s belief in God meant that they either didn’t believe in the existence of extraterrestrial life or that they regarded UFOs and extraterrestrials as demonic.” Pope said that he witnessed this type of religious pushback at the British MoD as well.

• The fact that some people regard UFOs as demonic seems to have its roots in the biblical description of Satan as being ‘the prince of the power of the air’ from Ephesians 2:2.

• David Clarke, a research fellow at Sheffield Hallam University who obtained the UK’s UFO files from the MoD following a freedom of information request, told The Guardian that UK officials have only “encouraged conspiracy theorists through their own paranoia” by closing its UFO desk in 2009 and destroying the ministry’s UFO files.

 

Though it was officially announced in 2012 that the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), a secret US Defense Intelligence Agency program that studied UFOs, was shuttered over budget pressures, it has since been revealed that its closure had more to do with senior officials and their religious beliefs.

Speaking with Las Vegas Now on Friday, Luis Elizondo, a former intelligence officer with knowledge on the matter, explained that senior officials pushed back on the secret program over concerns that the study would become an embarrassment for the department and because it conflicted with their religious beliefs.

Elizondo, who previously spoke out about the five-year-old program to the New York Times in December 2017, stressed that though the government’s funding ended in 2012, the study continues as officials from the US Navy and the CIA offered resources to further the program. It is speculated that the program is still active, just through private funding.

It should be noted that following Elizondo’s big reveal, two videos were released by the US Department of Defense that showed service members encountering unidentified flying objects.

But Elizondo isn’t the only official spilling the beans on secret government programs investigating UFOs.

Nick Pope, a former UFO investigator with the UK’s Ministry of Defense, told the Metro UK that he, too, encountered pushback.

Pentagon UFO Project Could Have Secret Info That Solves Britain’s Roswell

• In December 1980 in Suffolk, England, two US Air Force personnel stationed at the Bentwaters and Woodbridge bases went to investigate a suspected civilian plane crash in a nearby wooded area of Rendlesham forest. They found a craft with strange hieroglyphic symbols. Upon touching the craft, it sped away into the sky only to return two days later.

• In December 2017, a NY Times article broke about a 2007-2012 Pentagon program that studied UFOs. Former British Ministry of Defense expert Nick Pope said: “When the story about the Pentagon’s secret UFO project first broke, there was an intriguing reference to AATIP having a dossier detailing the best UFO cases from around the world… Apart from Roswell, the Rendlesham Forest incident is the best-known UFO case in the world, so it’s logical it would be in AATIP’s dossier, especially as the Rendlesham witnesses were US military personnel.”

• All Freedom of Information requests for details on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) have been rejected on national security grounds, says Pope. “The Special Relationship between the US and the UK remains strong, but there’s been very little intelligence-sharing about UFOs.” “Governments – even allies – are in competition with each other over this, and don’t want to give their game away,” Pope said.

• “We’re not too far from the 40th anniversary of what’s been called Britain’s Roswell,” said Pope. “I hope the Rendlesham witnesses – Charles Halt, John Burroughs, Jim Penniston and others – are finally going to find out what happened to them.” “It would be ironic if the answer to Britain’s most famous UFO mystery was lying in a government file somewhere, not in the MoD, but in the Pentagon.”

 

So says Nick Pope who investigated the strange phenomenon for the Ministry of Defence.

The massive Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) also explored reports of flying saucers.

Since it was exposed last year, three videos have shown bizarre encounters with pilots and inexplicably-fast aircraft.

And Mr Pope believes AATIP could solve the famous Rendlesham Forest incident on Boxing Day December 1980 in Suffolk.

Two members of the US Air Force (USAF), John Burroughs and Jim Penniston from the nearby Bentwaters and Woodbridge bases, went to investigate a suspected civilian plane crash.

They stumbled upon an unknown craft displaying strange “hieroglyphic symbols”, which accelerated away at high speed after they touched it.

The UFO was briefly tracked on radar and reportedly returned two days later and fired beams at air force crew and a “sensitive area” of the Woodbridge base, according to Mr Pope.

The former MOD expert said: “When the story about the Pentagon’s secret UFO project first broke, there was an intriguing reference to AATIP having a dossier detailing the best UFO cases from around the world.

“Apart from Roswell, the Rendlesham Forest incident is the best-known UFO case in the world, so it’s logical it would be in AATIP’s dossier, especially as the Rendlesham witnesses were US military personnel.”

Mr Pope said that all Freedom of Information requests for details on AATIP’s work have been rejected on national security grounds.

“The Special Relationship between the US and the UK remains strong, but there’s been very little intelligence-sharing about UFOs,” said Mr Pope.

Mr Pope claimed that an MOD assessment talked about what kind of “novel military applications” could come from UFOs.

“Governments – even allies – are in competition with each other over this, and don’t want to give their game away,” he said.

He believes that the X-Files type investigations of the Pentagon project could have answers about mystery radiations associated with flying saucers.

He said: “In a later MoD intelligence assessment of the UFO phenomenon more generally, my colleagues looked again at Rendlesham, and their final report contained the bombshell sentence ‘the well-reported Rendlesham Forest/Bentwaters event is an example where it might be postulated that several observers were probably exposed to UAP [Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon] radiation for longer than normal UAP sighting periods’.

“I’d be intrigued to know what information AATIP has about this, and what they concluded.

The Final Part of Britain’s Real-Life X-Files Has Been Released – But Does the Government Have Something to Hide?

• Britain’s Ministry of Defence has spent ten years releasing a trickle of declassified files relating to UFO sightings. The final three documents were made public on January 1, 2018. These MoD “X-Files” are formerly top-secret papers containing eyewitness accounts, sketches and police reports of UFO sightings from the 1970’s to the early 2000’s. But the final three documents just released are all dated from 1986.

• Defence officials decided to release the documents to save the hassle of responding to thousands of freedom of information requests about the government’s knowledge of UFOs. But these last three won’t be available online (as are all of the previous documents). Anyone who wants to read them will have to either visit the National Archives or order a copy of the documents for a copying fee.

• UFO enthusiasts are glad that the British military has released their UFO files, but why did it take ten years to do so?

• Former MoD official Nick Pope says, “There’s no smoking gun in these files that says UFOs are extraterrestrial.”

 

The MoD (Britain’s Ministry of Defence) has spent ten years releasing a trickle of declassified files relating to UFO sightings… and now the final three documents have been made public.

This final release completes the Government’s long process of publishing Britain’s real-life X Files, formerly top-secret papers containing eyewitness accounts, sketches and police reports of UFO sightings from the 1970s to the early noughties (ie: the early 2000’s for Americans).

Over the past decade, the files, which have been drip-fed into the public domain to hush any claims of a conspiracy, were ushered out without any fanfare from the Government, with batches steadily and unceremoniously cropping up online.

The final three documents appeared on the National Archives website on January 1, and are all dated from 1986.

One is described as UFO incidents, while the others are filed under UFO reports and UFO correspondence.
But, even after spending the past three decades behind the closed doors of the MoD, they’re unlikely to satisfy conspiracy theorists.

Unlike many of the releases before it, this final wave of files won’t be available online, and the timing of their publication is sure to cause more a stir among the UFO community.

Officials originally decided to circulate the documents to save the hassle of responding to thousands of freedom of information requests about the Government’s knowledge of UFOs.

But Nick Pope, who used to run the Ministry of Defence’s UFO project, says conspiracy theorists are likely to be “incensed” by the questions thrown up by the final file dump.

Now, believers will want to know why the Government waited ten years to release these files, and why they’ve been made so hard to get hold of.

Why January 1?

One reason why UFO hunters are unlikely to be happy is the precise timing of the release, on New Years Day.

Nick says: “This looks suspiciously as if The National Archives tried to sneak out this release when nobody was looking.”

Some will be asking whether this was an attempt to bury the release by shuffling it out on a bank holiday when everyone was in bed.

It’s true that January 1 is a common release date for public files, but hardcore UFO hunters will want to know why the MoD has held on to these for so long in the first place.

Is there a link to the Pentagon’s UFO research?

This final wave of files, which caps off a ten-year release programme, was published after the big news broke that the American government was hiding its own X Files.

Nick said: “Coming so soon after the revelations about the Pentagon’s UFO program, this will raise suspicion in the UFO community that there’s been co-ordination between the US and UK government on this.”
