• This year marks the 40th anniversary of the film “Alien” by Ridley Scott, where a creature called a ‘xenomorph’ attacks and eats the entire space crew except for Sigourney Weaver’s character. (see ‘Alien’ 1979 movie trailer below) But as movie making has developed and as modern science has changed, so has the industry’s idea of what an alien would probably look like. ‘The days of little green men and giant scaly monsters in alien movies are over.’

• Physicist and author Sidney Perkowitz says that Hollywood attempts to depict what the public is afraid of. In the old days, aliens were scary, unintelligent creatures bent on the destruction of the human race. Dr Strangelove tapped into the public’s anxiety over nuclear holocaust. But Hollywood director’s decisions to make extraterrestrials appear human-like could simply boil down to cost. “Humanoid aliens are cheap to portray,” says Perkowitz.

• Andrew Siemion, the director of the Berkeley SETI Research Center (ie: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) thinks that the chances that alien life would look humanoid is infinitesimal. “We don’t have any reason to believe that they would look anything like us,” says Siemion. “The form of a human being is the result of several billion years of evolution.”

• Today’s scientific thinking is that extraterrestrials will likely be non-humanoid and have compassion for the human race, as depicted in the 2016 movie “Arrival” where Amy Adams’ character learns to communicate with passive, non-humanoid creatures. The destructive aliens have become a viral microbial contagion, such as in Jake Gyllenhaal’s 2017 movie “Life”. But Perkowitz doubts that even dangerous biological entities would likely exist in space. “Nothing lives for pure evil,” Perkowitz insists.

• Modern astrobiologists only expect to find errant microbes in outer space or on alien planets. Perkowitz feels that the decidedly non-human and microbial aliens that are currently in vogue in sci fi movies will help to establish more appropriate expectations for any discovery of life that NASA might make. And if they are falsely depicted as deadly microbes, says Perkowitz, it is only because “Hollywood isn’t concerned with the social responsibility of getting the science right.”

These so called “experts” – a physicist writer and of course the Deep State’s reliable mouthpiece, SETI, have some nerve.  They are carrying forward a false propaganda war that has been waged by the Deep State since the 1940’s!

First they mocked the small Grays and the pale Ebens that were covertly recovered at various UFO crash sites in the 40’s and 50’s as “little green men”, which the public adopted as too strange and silly to be believed. Then Hollywood began to depict aliens as scary humanoid creatures to make the public fear and reject any ET presence. Now, the Deep State has altered Hollywood’s game plan to completely erase the possibility that extraterrestrials could be human-like, or even humanoid. At the moment, they want us to believe that there’s nothing out there, and certainly nothing out there to fear.

Well we know that there is good and evil out there, and the evil has had its way with this planet for millennia. And we know that the galaxy and universe is absolutely teeming with intelligent star civilizations of countless varieties of species. In our particular star cluster, the vast majority of these species are, in fact, human-like. The Deep State either intends to stage a false flag invasion by malevolent humanoids, or wants the public to reject and fear any benevolent human-like beings who might come to assist us in our planet’s imminent spiritual transition.

This Deep State can always rely on highly compromised academic and scientific institutions, such as SETI, and its Hollywood propaganda machine to manipulate the public’s conceptions toward its own agenda of casting the extraterrestrials as the scary bad guys and the Deep State as the good guys, so that when spiritual transition begins the people will look to the Deep State Illuminati cabal – the folks who got us into this mess – to save us.

 

The 1979 blockbuster “Alien” opens with a tension-filled scene: A spider-like creature attacks an astronaut named Thomas Kane on an unknown planet.

The crew of Kane’s ship brings him back on board with the mysterious critter still attached to his spacesuit. Under the fluorescent lights, the creature seems to die, detaching from Kane’s face. When the astronaut eventually wakes up, he seems unharmed by the encounter.

But a miniature alien later bursts out of his chest in a shower of blood as his shocked crewmates scream.

The xenomorph, as it’s called, grows to be larger than any human, with glossy black skin, razor-sharp teeth, claws, and a tail.

In the four decades since “Alien” came out – the film’s 40th anniversary was in May – that creature’s image has influenced moviegoers’ mental pictures of alien life.

But as NASA has embraced the objective of searching for extraterrestrial life in our galaxy, the scientific understanding of what extraterrestrials might look like has converged around a type of lifeform far different from the director Ridley Scott’s brainchild.

Today, astrobiologists suspect that extraterrestrial lifeforms are likely to be microscopic in nature, akin to the bacteria scientists find in extreme environments on Earth.
Hollywood filmmakers have started to embrace this idea and depict aliens as less humanoid, according to the physicist and author Sidney Perkowitz. In other words, the days of little green men and giant scaly monsters in alien movies are over.

“In the old science-fiction flicks of the 1950s and ’60s, if you did an alien, monster, or robot, it was a guy dressed up and stomping around a sound stage,” Perkowitz, who cofounded the National Academy of Sciences’ Science and Entertainment Exchange group, which connects directors with science advisers, told Business Insider. “In the last few decades, CGI has changed that, allowing for the potential of really life-like, imaginative creatures.”

No more little green men

The chance that alien life looks humanoid is infinitesimal.

“We don’t have any reason to believe that they would look anything like us,” Andrew Siemion, the director of the Berkeley SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Research Center, told Vox. “The form of a human being is the result of several billion years of evolution.”

Perkowitz said that Scott and other directors’ decisions to make extraterrestrials appear human-like could simply boil down to cost.

He added that the problem with “Alien” wasn’t just that the movie portrayed the alien as humanoid – it was that the extraterrestrial was depicted as unintelligent and beast-like. The xenomorph doesn’t try to communicate with the astronaut crew; instead, it eats the crew members one by one until Sigourney Weaver’s character blasts it into space.

“It’s hard to imagine a different lifeform would have such a negative reaction to another lifeform – nothing lives for pure evil,” Perkowitz said, adding: “If we always decide that ‘the other’ is hostile or contemptible, how does that encourage our efforts to relate to them?”

But the examples of nonhostile aliens in Hollywood are few and far between (Steven Spielberg’s E.T. notwithstanding). That’s because, according to Perkowitz, society uses film to explore what it’s afraid of.

• In July, London’s Royal Society and the U.K. SETI Research Network launched a survey on the subject of public attitudes toward alien contact. Martin Dominik, an astronomer at the University of St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland joined the discussion by advocating a legally binding framework in international law for responding to a signal received from an alien civilization. It would be prudent to make these policy determinations now, rather than sometime in the future in the midst of the inevitable media circus that would erupt with proof of other intelligent life in the universe.

• In 2015, SETI launched its ‘Breakthrough Listen’ project, funded by Russian-Israeli tech billionaire Yuri Milner. The project buys thousands of hours of time on the world’s most powerful radio telescopes over a ten year period to search over a million stars for artificial radio or laser signals. Merely listening for alien signals is known as “passive SETI”. The debate arises when SETI officials contemplate replying to an alien signal. So far, SETI has not found any alien signals.

• So why haven’t we found any alien signals coming from extraterrestrial planets? One reason is that SETI’s eavesdropping range can only go so far into the galaxy. Another possible reason is that other civilizations are maintaining radio silence because there is something big and bad and dangerous lurking out there in the dark, and they do not want to attract its attention. This theory is known as the “Dark Forest Problem”.

• Chinese science-fiction writer Liu Cixin is the author of the popular Three-Body Problem trilogy, which traces the calamitous consequences over 400 years of an alien-contact scenario, initiated by well-meaning human beings, that goes desperately wrong. Some astronomers look to this as a cautionary tale.

• In 2015, the American Association for the Advancement of Science debated whether it was wise for SETI (the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) to actively send out signals to other planets. Should we advertise our existence, or is that just asking for trouble? After all, if 1950’s sci fi movies are any indication, they may be bug-eyed monsters intent on abducting half-naked Earth maidens. The scientists supported a declaration that a “worldwide scientific, political and humanitarian discussion must occur before any message is sent.”

• Should we be worried about marauding aliens coming to Earth? The current mainstream scientific consensus is that interstellar travel is virtually impossible because it would take too long to travel such distances to make it worthwhile. But we still have much to learn. We may be unaware of a type of physics and technology that would overcome the long distance obstacle. Therefore, distance alone might not be enough to protect us from any ill-intentioned bug-eyed monsters with a sufficiently high level of technology.

• Yuri Milner and SETI are working on another program called “Breakthrough Message” to craft a message that we could send in response to an alien signal. The program heads had pledged “not to transmit any message until there has been a global debate at high levels of science and politics on the risks and rewards of contacting advanced civilizations.”

• [Editor’s Note]   Once again, the Deep State asset known as SETI is furthering its mission to keep pumping out disinformation. They want the public to think that SETI’s unsuccessful search for alien civilizations means that there are no extraterrestrials in our cosmic vicinity, which is a lie. The universe, our galaxy, and our particular cluster of star systems is teeming with intelligent extraterrestrial life.  They are not only in communication with us but actively influencing our global reality, and not in a good way. The Deep State also wants the public to fear these extraterrestrials, so that when the ET presence is revealed, the public will turn to these compromised institutions to save us. But most of all, they want the public to be complacent in believing that the scientific community is on top of this, assuring us that if they do come across an alien signal, we will be the first to know. Don’t count on it.

 

“There is absolutely no procedure enshrined in international law to respond to a signal from an alien civilization,” said Martin Dominik, an astronomer at the University of St. Andrews. “It makes sense to create a legally binding framework that is properly rooted in international law.”

Well, yes, it would make sense. But if the Bug-Eyed Monsters do send a message, would we really want to reply at all?

Bug-eyed monsters, generally portrayed carrying off half-naked Earth maidens with evil intent, were a standard feature of pulp science fiction in the 1950s. We are all more sophisticated now, of course, but fear of alien contact is not necessarily irrational.

The specific reason for Dominik’s remarks is a survey of public attitudes toward alien contact that was launched last month by London’s Royal Society and the U.K. SETI Research Network, but in broader terms it is a response to two important developments in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) that occurred in 2015.

One was a debate at the American Association for the Advancement of Science convention in 2015 about whether “active SETI” was a good idea. Should we advertise our existence and publish our address to the cosmos, or is that just asking for trouble? Many of the scientists present backed a declaration that a “worldwide scientific, political and humanitarian discussion must occur before any message is sent.”

• The world is choking on carbon emissions and drowning in plastic garbage, all primarily caused by the oil industry and fracking, which also adds environmental waste to the picture. But at the same time it appears that government entities have gleaned new energy technologies, such as anti-matter, anti-gravity and electro-magnetic propulsion technology, from sources including retrieved extraterrestrial UFOs. Why then is the government and industry aggressively continuing down this fossil fuel road toward a Blade Runner-type dystopia?

• Yes, we are a society addicted to and dependent upon fossil fuels. But the bigger problem is the lack of incentive for industry to convert to advanced, clean energy technologies that are apparently available. Continuing our oil use and production while changing our lifestyle, as some advocate – by recycling, driving less, eating less meat – won’t solve the problem. We need to convert our energy technology.

• It seems obvious that we should insist that industry make a grand effort to convert our energy technologies to save our planet. But we see no sign of such an effort. The present US administration has dramatically reversed course on climate protection policies, and has encouraged the development of new fossil fuel projects. It is clear that Big Oil and its well-heeled backers and lobbyists plan to continue drilling new oil and gas wells and pump them until they are dry.

• In his 2017 documentary, Unacknowledged: An Exposé of the World’s Greatest Secret, Dr Steven Greer offers that the world’s elite intend to do all that they can to ignore advanced technologies, and downplay any mention of the extraterrestrial UFOs that could provide us with incredible new technologies to power and clean up our planet. It’s not about hiding the fact that the galaxy is teeming with intelligent extraterrestrial civilizations. It is about hiding the fact that technologies exist that are far superior to fossil fuels. The wealthy elite who control the government know that the introduction of such advanced technology would spell the end of the petrodollar, public utilities, and Big Oil.

• Filmmaker Stephen Zoller who recently suggested that aliens are actually advanced Earth humans from our future (see ExoArticle here), says that a new energy paradigm “would threaten the status quo of the powerful elites that have enjoyed untold wealth at the expense of our planet’s health.” Says Zoller, “[The global elite] want to delay this new fuel’s introduction as long as possible until they can milk every last ounce of profit from fossil fuels. Then [they plan to] make astronomical profits with the quick fix to all our environmental woes. If that indeed is the case, then we need to put the people who run the fossil fuel industry and the shareholders who profit from it behind bars.”

• Zoller references Area 51 whistleblower Bob Lazar’s interview on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast where Lazar agreed that the ‘prize is technology’, and that the powers that be are not putting enough effort into developing anti-gravity and other advanced technologies for the betterment of our society. Zoller also speculates that his “futurians” are not allowed to tamper with the timeline and just hand us the blueprints to new technologies. “It’s up to us to figure out how to build them,” says Zoller.

• So how do we ordinary citizens make our government work for us and not for the wealthy elite? Zoller says that Storming Area 51 is not a good idea. Violent action is not the answer. “But,” says Zoller, “something like forming a human chain around Area 51 would at least draw global media attention and motivate people around the world to get off their complacent asses and demand action.” “[W]hat people around the world can do is demand that our scientific communities concentrate on solving this problem and not on building bigger and more powerful weapons. We need to demand that nations get off the ‘economic growth at all costs merry-go-round’, and reverse the effects of climate change before we choke on our air and drown in our garbage.”

 

Want to see something to make you wretch?

Go check out the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (GPGP), the largest of five offshore plastic accumulation zones in the world’s oceans. The GPGP is twice the freaking size of Texas, and plastic containers are destroying our oceans worldwide. But our addiction to fossil fuels is partially to blame as companies acquire financial gain, even though they’re destroying our environment, through fracking and then manufacturing plastic.

Then recall the visionary 1982 Ridley Scott sci-fi thriller, Blade Runner, which painted a smoggy portrait of Los Angeles as it might be in 2019: dirty, smelly, crowded, polluted, damp, desperate and diverse…as acid rain spews down from on high, where the elites live in the light. Which is kind of where they do live today. Just ask the poor people who live near garbage heaps around the world.

We surely cannot let this polluted dark future happen, can we?

Getting off the Gas Pump

Which is why, in the last while, many of us have been seriously reducing our carbon footprint, including: eating no or less meat — greenhouse gas emissions from animal agriculture are an even bigger problem than fossil fuels; recycling as much as possible, among many other alternative methods of living; and, driving less —walking, biking, and taking public transportation — or using a hybrid or electric vehicle and getting off our addiction to the GAS PUMP.

Sounds good, right?

Except, you want to throw up your hands when you see the present US Administration dramatically reversing course on many climate policies: repealing the Clean Power Plan originally designed to curb pollution from coal plants; gutting stricter climate standards for auto vehicles; signing executive orders aimed to streamline the development of new fossil fuel projects; withdrawing the US from the Paris climate agreement; and, just recently declaring nuclear waste to be safe. Sheer madness.

In fact, some scientists suggest that without strict laws to curb carbon emissions, an individual’s choices matter very little. That even if everyone who cared about climate change reduced their carbon emissions to zero, it still wouldn’t change very much. That to promote systematic change it’s actually better to agitate, write letters, and VOTE.

Even then the battle against Big Oil and its well-heeled backers and lobbyists will be immense, as they plan to continue drilling new oil and gas wells and pump them until they are dry.

Did Epstein’s Plane Recently Fly To An Elite Secret Base In Antarctica?

Here in beautiful British Columbia, it is difficult to fathom the extent of the filth surrounding our current political situation, especially in the US with the Epstein scandal following close on the heals of Russiagate with which it is closely related.Of course, Canada is not free from its own problems with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau under fire for his role in the SNC-Lavalin probe.

Problems abound globally whether in Kashmir, Venezuela, Ukraine or Hong Kong.  The potential silver lining in this mess is for a resetting of the financial architecture to reconstruct post WWII Bretton Woods arrangements that more accurately reflect current realities.

Now comes another incredible slice of the Epstein saga that upgrades the conversation from the tawdry world of spying, sex trafficking, secret arms deals, the funding of transhumanist research at Harvard and the other myriad intriguing links to this modern day twisted version of James Bond.

Epstein’s plane has apparently been flying to……….Antarctica!

Yes, Antarctica of all places, with its connections to Nazi bases, Project Highjump and its mysterious visits by religious figures, government officials and one Moon Walker, Buzz Aldrin.

Is there a secret elite base in Antarctica?  Does it have any connection to the Secret Space Program?  And why is a plane directly linked to Jeffrey Epstein going there while he was in jail awaiting trial……or should I say execution?

Epstein was some sort of deviant character.  But his unique life style and incredible connections to all sorts of powerful people will likely see him become a larger-than-life anti-hero like Che Guevera or Charles Manson.

With this latest revelation of a claimed link to one of the most remote regions  on Earth, another chapter is unfolding that may take us to places and entities far beyond our wildest imagination.

If Aliens Are Flashing Laser Beams at Us, We Now Have a Way to Detect Them

• The $100 million 10-year project funded by Russian billionaire Yuri Milner, called the  “Breakthrough Listen” project, is the most extensive SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) program in history. The project, which began in 2015, has surveyed over 1,000 stars within 160 light-years away from Earth for signs of alien radio signals, with no positive results.

• ‘Breakthrough Listen’ announced that its team will begin looking for new signs of alien technology using the Very Energetic Radiation Imaging Telescope Array System (VERITAS), consisting of four 12-meter optical telescopes at the Fred Lawrence Whipple Observatory in Amado, Arizona. Using VERITAS, astronomers will begin scanning the night sky for nanosecond flashes of light, known as “fast optical pulses”, from nearby stars indicating a new class of alien communication. Said Andrew Siemion, director of Berkeley’s SETI Research Center, “Optical communication has already been used by NASA to transmit high-definition images to Earth from the moon, so there’s a reason to believe that an advanced civilization might use a scaled-up version of this technology for interstellar communication.”

• VERITAS searched for such laser pulses from the mysteriously dimming Tabby’s Star after some speculated there could be an alien megastructure surrounding it. If Tabby’s Star pointed powerful lasers at the Earth, VERITAS could detect them. Less powerful lasers could be detected from closer star systems. David Williams, a member of the VERITAS and professor of physics at the University of California, Santa Cruz, said, “It is impressive how well-suited the VERITAS telescopes are for this project, since they were built only with the purpose of studying very-high-energy gamma rays…”.

• At the VERITAS initiative’s launch, physicist Stephen Hawking said, “[I]n an infinite universe, there must be other occurrences of life… [P]erhaps intelligent life might be watching these lights of ours… Or do our lights wander a lifeless cosmos, unseen beacons announcing that, here on one rock, the universe discovered its existence?”

• SETI’s Russian benefactor, Yuri Milner says, “[O]ur philosophy is to look in as many places, and in as many ways, as we can. VERITAS expands our range of observation even further.”

• [Editor’s Note]    SETI is now using a $100 million telescope array to search for lights and lasers emanating from extraterrestrial sources in the cosmos. So much money is being wasted on this Deep State disinformation program which is only meant to make the public believe that if there were any extraterrestrial beings and civilizations to be found, such equipment could not miss them, when in reality the extraterrestrial presence is all around us. Of course the Breakthrough Listen project will fail because the Deep State’s true agenda is to deny the existence of extraterrestrials. Or will it be used by the Deep State to claim success and control the narrative through a new disinformation campaign when the exposure of the extraterrestrial presence becomes imminent?

 

Are aliens using super powerful flashlights to get our attention? Astronomers think there’s a chance they are.
Since the invention of the radio, humans have been silently listening to the stars, wondering if we are alone in the universe. But if intelligent alien life does exist, the extraterrestrials could be using other forms of technology to communicate. Astronomers are beginning to not only listen to the cosmos but also gaze toward it for other signs of alien tech: laser beams.

Breakthrough Listen, the most extensive Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) program in history, announced that its team will begin looking for new signs of alien technology using the Very Energetic Radiation Imaging Telescope Array System (VERITAS) at the Fred Lawrence Whipple Observatory in Amado, Arizona.

Epstein Murdered to Hide Satanic Pedophile Network Manipulating Global Elites

Jeffrey Epstein’s suicide/murder came as a shock to all that believed his imprisonment was an effective means of protecting him from global elites that wanted to silence him and prevent his upcoming trial from ever going forward. The shock from Epstein’s surprising death was even more palpable after the release of 2000 pages of documents on July 9 naming some of the prominent global figures implicated in the international sex ring involving minors.

Especially disturbing was that his alleged suicide/murder came only two weeks after an earlier incident where he was found unconscious after a previous apparent suicide/murder attempt on July 25. His suicide/murder has led to outrage over apparent lapses at the Metropolitan Correctional Center Manhattan, a Federal facility, that left him alone and vulnerable in the early morning hours of August 10.

Such lapses include no camera surveillance during the critical hours when the event happened, guards not conducting the regular 30 minute checks of his cell, and his cellmate being transferred out of the cell only hours before his suicide/murder.

Epstein’s suicide/murder throws a spanner into efforts to expose the full extent of the sex trafficking network that he helped set up, and which would have exposed many prominent individuals. Those identified as having sex with minors procured by Epstein include former President Bill Clinton; Britain’s Prince Andrew; the former Governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson; and former US Senator/Ambassador George Mitchell.

Many are rightly incredulous that Epstein could have committed suicide or been murdered, and are seriously considering the possibility that it was all staged and he is still alive. Some believe Epstein may have been taken into protective custody by White Hats in the US military in order to reveal his secrets without being silenced. Others claim Epstein has been taken to Israel in a secret deal with the Mossad, where only a limited number of Deep State secrets will be exposed.

While rumors and unsubstantiated theories swirl over what really happened to Epstein, one of the things we know for sure is that the trial which would have provided an opportunity for state’s evidence to be presented exposing his criminal activities will never happen. The stunning disclosures of the full range of his activities that many expected to emerge in a trial may never occur.

While it is possible that key subordinates such as Ghislaine Maxwell may ultimately be arrested and brought to trial, it’s difficult to imagine that such trials would have anything near the impact of Epstein’s.

While media attention has been firmly focused on the widespread sex trafficking that Epstein was involved in with the help of Maxwell and others, there was a deeper and darker layer to his activities, which the mainstream media has avoided.

This darker layer concerns the Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) that occurred on Epstein’s private island of Little St James, which I discussed in a previous article based on what the military intelligence group QAnon has revealed. While pedophilia is the initial means by which elites are compromised by the Deep State so they can be exploited, SRA takes such exploitation to a far deeper level.

Elites that participate in SRA are fast-tracked into the most senior positions in the Deep State’s global network. This promotion system is what former Deep State insiders such as Ronald Bernard, a former successful Dutch banker, have revealed with their startling firsthand testimonies.

Bernard explained how the only way he could be promoted in the murky world of international finance, which is largely controlled by the Deep State, was to participate in the abuse of children. The thought of harming children through SRA is what led to Bernard’s emotional breakdown, separation from the Deep State, and why he later decided to come publicly forward.

In sum, the first tier of compromised global elites are those that have been caught up in the sex rings involving minors. The 2000 pages of court documents released on July 9 reveal some of the global elites that were caught up in these sex rings.

The second tier, which is far more influential, comprises elites that have participated in SRA, and risen to more senior positions in the Deep State. According to QAnon, the Rothschild family sits at the apex of this international network of Satanic worshippers and practitioners of SRA. Lynn de Rothschild has been cited by QAnon as a prominent Satanist with deep ties to Epstein, Maxwell, the Clinton family and other members of the global elite.

At this point, we need to consider how a global sex trade in minors and SRA are connected to Secret Space Programs and the existence of extraterrestrial life. In a previous article, I explained how SRA is related to the Vatican and Reptilian extraterrestrials who have great influence over the Catholic Church hierarchy.

There is also the galactic slave trade that involves the disappearance of millions of children from around the world every year as also explained previously. Most children are taken off-planet to be used as slaves, while a smaller number are recruited for SRA at elite gatherings such as regularly occurred at Epstein’s Little St James Island.

While the Deep State can deal with the exposure of its global sex trade in minors and have a few prominent individuals exposed, it will do everything possible to stop the exposure of the SRA occurring worldwide that is used to control prominent elites. In addition, the Deep State wants to hide the truth about the Reptilian extraterrestrial element in SRA, and the galactic slave trade that supplies a large pool of minors that elites can sacrifice in their SRA gatherings. These far deeper secrets are what the Deep State hopes to hide with Epstein’s murder.

From the orange sodium or bluish mercury lamps to white-light-emitting diodes (LEDs), the artificial origin of this “spectrum” should be easy for technologically advanced aliens to spot.”

• Van Loon worries that technologically advanced and hostile extraterrestrials may have already detected these lights and transmissions, and may already be on their way here to invade the Earth. Professor Stephen Hawking feared that an encounter between humanity and an alien species would be disastrous. Hawking mused that extraterrestrials could be ‘rapacious marauders roaming the cosmos in search of resources to plunder, and planets to conquer and colonize’. Van Loon notes that when Columbus encountered the New World, that didn’t turn out so good for the Native Americans.

• Much effort has gone into searching space for signals transmitted by extraterrestrial civilizations. In 1974, radio astronomer Frank Drake used the then most powerful radio transmitter, at Arecibo in Puerto Rico, to broadcast a message into space announcing our presence. The message will now be 45 light years away from us. Today, SETI is better informed and better resourced. Russian billionaires Yuri and Julia Milner allocated US$100M to SETI’s ‘Breakthrough Listen’ project, which buys time on powerful telescopes to detect artificial signals from space.

• Says van Loon, “[M]any scientists now agree that sending messages into space without knowing who might be intercepting them might not be such a good idea. Once sent, it cannot be undone… Listening is much safer. But radio communication among ourselves – which includes navigation, television broadcasts and the internet – might also be detected from space.

• Scientists have started to wonder why we haven’t heard from aliens yet. This puzzle is known as the Fermi Paradox. Among the many proposed answers, one is that aliens might be afraid of other aliens. Van Loon suggests that, “Unintentionally, we may already have been observed by an amused, terrified or “interested” species, who may decide to meet us to “shake hands”, or come to enslave us, eat us, or destroy us as a precaution. We are, after all, an aggressive species ourselves.”

• The Mutual UFO Network, or ‘MUFON’, celebrates 50 years of UFO investigation and research. Based in Irvine, California, the all-volunteer, nonprofit organization has endeavored since 1969 to be the ‘refuge seeking answers to that most ancient question, are we alone in the universe?’ The answer, very simply, is no.

• Jan Harzan has been the executive director for MUFON since August 2013. “I’ve seen these craft. I know they are real,” he told Space.com. “I can’t tell you where they’re from. …But they are advanced technology.” Harzan continues, “We have over 100,000 UFO cases in our files … and it’s growing. We currently have worldwide over 500 certified MUFON field investigators that go out and look at each one of these cases.”

• A MUFON Science Review Board consists of scientists with degrees in physics, chemistry, geology and electrical engineering. Their work experience includes NASA, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and France’s national space program, CNES. The MUFON Board reviews the best cases and strongest cases that cannot be identified as any known object.

• Nearly 34% of reports coming into MUFON can be identified, be they aircraft, rocket launches, satellites, drones, astronomical events, or even Chinese lanterns. For example, Google’s Project Loon uses high-flying balloons to bring Wi-Fi internet to rural areas. It has repeatedly prompted UFO reports. “But on the other hand,” says Harzan, “when you read some of the reports – we call it the 5% – one out of twenty – that are incredible observations by very articulate and credible people, you get about 5% of cases that are so rock solid.”

• Harzan says that these extraterrestrial beings have advanced physics that we don’t yet understand, and which our current science is incapable of understanding. “I personally believe,” says Harzan, “once we do, we’ll be out there doing the same thing that they are doing. We’re probably 20 to 30 years away from being the aliens.”

• Former UFO investigator for the U.K.’s Ministry of Defence, Nick Pope compares the UFO community, and the MUFON subset, to a “broad church” – a group of people who have a range of different views, yet bound together by a common interest. As in the UFO community, MUFON has had its disputes and feuds. Pope maintains that “None of this detracts from the fact that [MUFON] provides a valuable service to UFO witnesses, with field investigators looking into the sightings, sometimes turning up a conventional explanation and other times simply giving perplexed witnesses someone with whom to engage.”

• “MUFON is clearly at a disadvantage,” Pope says, “given that most of their members are nonscientists.” But he doesn’t think this is necessarily a problem. MUFON provides the necessary day-to-day business of investigating UFOs, with interviews, evidence gathering, tracking down leads, and double checking facts. “Scientific advice should be sought when necessary – for instance, if a soil sample needs to be checked for radioactivity,” Pope said. “I don’t think we should get too hung up on whether or not MUFON as a whole is sufficiently scientific.”

• It is becoming harder to weed out and identify “real” UFOs, Harzan admitted. In 1987, MUFON fired two investigators who labeled some MUFON-endorsed Gulf Breeze photos as a hoax and disavowed their report. This caused a stir in the organization. In 2017, MUFON lost a number of experienced investigators when they invited proponents of the breakaway “secret space program” to participate in its symposium panels in Las Vegas. Robert Sheaffer, a leading UFO skeptic says, “MUFON proclaims its dedication to the scientific method in UFO investigations, but it seldom lives up to that ideal.”

• Sheaffer also points to MUFON providing cases for the producers of the TV series “Hangar 1”, which premiered in 2014 on The History Channel, which was “almost universally panned by serious UFO investigators for its sensationalist approach. “However, it too has been extremely successful in bringing people into MUFON,” said Sheaffer.

• [Editor’s Note]   I like this Jan Harzan. Harzan says that no, we are not alone. He isn’t afraid of allowing for an extraterrestrial explanation. He reports that “nearly 34% of reports coming into MUFON can be identified”, therefore 66% are not identified. And that “5% – one out of twenty – are “incredible observations by very articulate and credible people.” “Rock solid.” I agree that MUFON is no less a valid UFO organization than the “scientific” organizations such as SETI, or academic institutions such as Harvard, Oxford and the Smithsonian Museum. In fact, I prefer these citizen investigations and tend to trust their reports. These are people who are motivated by getting to the truth, and they are not likely to be bought off or influenced by Deep State agents. On the other hand, the aforementioned organizations and institutions are an obvious front for the Deep State, predisposed to refute and deny any existence of extraterrestrial UFOs at all.

After five decades, has there been any scientific pay dirt in studying UFOs? Are we inching closer to the truth that is perhaps out there?

Old beliefs

Harzan said that the No. 1 stumbling block to advancement as a civilization is holding on to old beliefs. Is our science even capable of understanding what UFOs truly represent?

“We have to be able to let go of some old beliefs, because maybe the way we think the universe works isn’t how it really works,” Harzan said. “I personally believe that these are extraterrestrial beings that have advanced physics that we don’t yet understand. And once we do, we’ll be out there doing the same thing that they are doing. We’re probably 20 to 30 years away from being the aliens.”

  • Astronomy professor Jason Wright is a participating scientist with SETI, the ‘Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence’, and the 2018 winner of the Frank Drake Award that SETI bestows on its researchers who are “dedicated to understanding humanity’s place in the universe”. “Believe me, no one wants to find evidence of extraterrestrial life more than those of us in this field,” says Professor Wright. “We scour the skies for evidence of such extraterrestrial technologies with some of the most advanced equipment in the world for understanding what’s going on in the sky, and we haven’t found anything compelling yet.”

  • With regard to the recent interest in “Storming Area 51” to emancipate aliens, Wright says, “I don’t know very much about Area 51, but I can say that the intense interest in the goings on there related to aliens reveals a deep public interest in what kinds of life might exist elsewhere in the universe.” Wright finds the most fascinating thing about Area 51 is Project Mogul, where the government floated balloons to detect Soviet nuclear testing in the 1940’s. Says Wright, “When one of those balloons… landed in a farm in Roswell, New Mexico it helped fuel the whole alien craze we’re still living with today.”

  • SETI’s space telescopes are designed to detect “biosignatures” with signs of microfossils or metabolism in the atmospheres of distant planets. But SETI is a privately funded operation. NASA and the National Science Foundation spend next to nothing looking for intelligent life in the universe, including technological life.

  • Says Professor Wright, “I see this (Frank Drake) award as validation of my work to help elevate the field of SETI as an academic discipline, and to persuade Congress, NASA and the public that it is worthy of public investment. It is, after all, the scientific approach to answering one of the most profound questions ever asked: Is Earth life unique? Or are there other beings like us out there in the universe?”

  • [Editor’s Note]  Frank Drake was a founding member of SETI and developer of the “Drake Equation” in 1961, which uses a list of subjective variables to determine that the number of planets similar to the Earth that could possibly host an extraterrestrial civilization advanced enough to use radio-wave communication is astonishingly small. This is the basis for SETI’s nearly 60-years of searching for extraterrestrial intelligence.

    As the most recent recipient of the Drake Award, Professor Wright is shilling for the re-establishment of SETI funding from the government which ended in 1993, even though SETI’s research has existed since the early 1960’s and they have found exactly nothing through this process. It seems that the purpose of SETI is to appear to the public to be scientifically searching for extraterrestrial civilizations, while actually finding nothing that might upset the Deep State’s cover-up of a long-standing extraterrestrial presence in our solar system. Wright pretends to know nothing about Area 51 or the Roswell crash, recognizing only Project Mogul which the Deep State used to cover-up the Roswell crash. This, apparently, is the primary criteria for being awarded the Frank Drake Award.

    This is further evidence that SETI is nothing more than a Deep State disinformation program to give the public the impression that serious scientists are doing serious work to locate extraterrestrial life, but there simply isn’t any in this universe to find besides humans on planet Earth. The “scientists” at SETI believe that they should be paid handsomely by the US government for doing the Deep State’s bidding.

 

What started as an internet joke has generated a stern military warning after more than a million people “signed up” to “raid” Area 51 – a secretive military installation in Southern Nevada long fancied by conspiracy theorists to be hiding evidence of a crashed UFO with aliens. The purpose of the planned raid is in order to “see them aliens.” In the following Q&A, astronomy professor Jason Wright discusses the public’s interest in answering the age-old question: Are we alone?

Since you have a longstanding scholarly interest in extraterrestrial life – and even wrote about the possibility of advanced civilizations in the distant past on Mars or Venus – I presume you’ve canceled your classes for Sept. 20 and signed up to go to the “raid” on Area 51?

To be honest, I was completely unaware of this “raid” until you brought it to my attention! I work in SETI, the scientific search for extraterrestrial intelligence, and believe me, no one wants to find evidence of extraterrestrial life more than those of us in this field. We scour the skies for evidence of such extraterrestrial technologies with some of the most advanced  equipment in the world for understanding what’s going on in the sky, and we haven’t found anything compelling yet. But we’re not paying much attention to what happens in Area 51.

Do you think the public knows enough about Area 51? Or is the widespread interest in this raid a good barometric read on how frustrated people are that the government appears to be hiding something there?

I don’t know very much about Area 51, but I can say that the intense interest in the goings on there related to aliens reveals a deep public interest in what kinds of life might exist elsewhere in the universe.

Have you yourself ever tried to do any real research into the happenings in Area 51?

Not Area 51, exactly. The closest I’ve come was a talk I heard by a physicist describing the fascinating science carried out by the military back in the late 1940s, especially Project Mogul, which launched microphones on balloons to see if they could detect nuclear testing going on in the Soviet Union. It’s an amazing story of physics and engineering ingenuity. When one of those balloons with its disc microphones and radar reflectors landed in a farm in Roswell, New Mexico it helped fuel the whole alien craze we’re still living with today. It’s a shame, because the science-fiction-inspired “aliens” conspiracy theory is – from my standpoint – so much less fascinating than the story of the research that was going on then.

There was a time when the federal government provided researchers with money to search for – and teach about the search for – extraterrestrial life. And you’ve lamented that that is no longer the case. If you had your way, how much money do you think the federal government should give America’s researchers to search for aliens or evidence of aliens?

The search for life in the universe is a major priority for NASA and American science. Many of our missions to Mars and our space telescopes are designed with the detection of biosignatures in mind – “biosignatures” being signs of life like microfossils or evidence of metabolism in the atmospheres of distant planets. But despite the billions of dollars spent on these missions, I think many members of the public would be surprised to learn that NASA and the National Science Foundation spend next to nothing looking for intelligent life in the universe, including technological life that might, after all, be easier to find. I think the level of funding for the field should be determined the way the rest of science is, by competitive peer review of proposals for research. So, I don’t know what the “right” level is, but I know it’s not zero.

• On July 20, 1969, astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the Moon. Four days later, the astronauts were quarantined aboard the USS Hornet for a 21-day isolation period. This was to ensure that no potentially hazardous lunar microbes had hitchhiked back to Earth with them. The NASA scientists found no microbial aliens on the astronauts themselves or in the 50 pounds of lunar rocks they brought back.

• LS: What did the Moon landing teach humans about extraterrestrial life?  Shostak: Not too much. By 1969, most scientists expected the Moon would be dead. The Moon has no atmosphere, no liquid, and temperatures that range from hundreds of degrees to minus hundreds of degrees. “It’s awful!” But the Apollo missions showed that you could travel from one world to another on a rocket – and maybe aliens could, too. Suddenly, the universe was a little more open.

• LS: In 1969, did scientists think there might be aliens somewhere else in the solar system?  Shostak: Mars was the ‘Great Red Hope’ of extraterrestrial life in the solar system. People were very optimistic in 1976 when the Viking landers plopped down onto Mars that there would be life. There wasn’t. These days, scientists will suggest looking at the moons of Jupiter or Saturn, such as Enceladus, where geysers shoot possible microbial material right into space, so you don’t have to land a spacecraft on the surface to find it.

• LS: What did the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) look like around 1969? Shostak: Modern SETI experiments began in 1960 with astronomer Frank Drake and his Project Ozma, where he searched for inhabited planets around two stars using a radio telescope. (After four years of searching, no recognizable signals were detected.) By 1969, SETI research was being conducted informally by people who were working with telescopes in their spare time, looking up the coordinates of nearby stars and hoping to pick up radio waves. It wasn’t really organized until the NASA SETI program began in the 1970’s with a budget of $10 million a year. In 1993, a democratic congressman from Nevada killed the SETI funding, in spite of the fact that the NASA program profited from the public’s fascination with aliens more than from anywhere else.

• [Editor’s Note]  Previous articles have established that Seth Shostak and SETI are Deep State assets whose objective is to lull the public into complacency by reassuring them that every planet and heavenly body, besides the Earth, is ‘dead’ and unable to support life beyond possible microbial life. On July 20, 1969, astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on Earth’s moon for the first time in human history. Four days later, they — along with Apollo 11 command module pilot Michael Collins — were locked up on an American battleship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

The triumphant astronauts were in quarantine. Per a NASA safety protocol written half a decade earlier, the three lunar visitors were escorted directly from their splashdown site in the central Pacific to a modified trailer aboard the USS Hornet, where a 21-day isolation period began. The objective? To ensure that no potentially hazardous lunar microbes hitchhiked back to Earth with them.

Of course, as NASA quickly confirmed, there were no tiny aliens lurking in the astronauts’ armpits or in the 50 pounds (22 kilograms) of lunar rocks and soil they had collected. But despite this absence of literal extraterrestrial life, the Apollo 11 astronauts still may have succeeded in bringing aliens back to Earth in another way that can still be felt 50 years later.

Shostak has been searching for signs of intelligent life in the universe for most of his life (and, fittingly, shares a birthday with the Apollo 11 landing). Live Science recently spoke with him to find out more about how the moon landing changed the scientific community’s pursuit of aliens and the world’s perception of them.   • After more than six decades of covert tests at the top secret military site, Area 51 remains shrouded in mystery. Here are a few of the theories of what goes on at Area 51.
  • UFO Testing – The craft and alien crew of the UFO that crashed at Roswell, NM in 1947 was said to be taken to Area 51. A 1996 documentary entitled “Dreamland” featured a 71-year-old mechanical engineer who claimed that he worked on a flying disc simulator used to train US pilots, based on a crashed extraterrestrial UFO. Rumors of dissections of dead aliens and interrogations of living ones are said to have been carried out at Area 51. But there is no evidence to support this claim. Others have maintained that the only exotic craft flying out of Area 51 have been captured Soviet-built MiG jet fighters or our own advanced experimental aircraft.
  • Weather Control – Meteorologists at Area 51 are thought to have experimented with ‘cloud seeding’, where chemicals are dropped into clouds from planes to try to make them produce rain in order to combat water shortages in the Western US. A separate section is said to have tried producing hurricanes and storms that could be directed at enemy countries.
  • Majestic 12 – The Majestic 12 is a secret committee of US scientists, military leaders, politicians and civil servants created by President Harry Truman to manage alien investigations. Area 51 is supposedly a key location for the Majestic 12’s activities, including the examination of the aliens recovered from the 1947 Roswell incident. There is no concrete proof that Majestic 12 ever existed.
  • Energy Weapons – Some claim that the reverse-engineered alien tech at Area 51 has yielded futuristic weapons from lasers that can vaporize a man in seconds, to time travel gadgets. Stories of machines built using alien tech stretch as far as the imagination can go. Again, there’s no evidence this tech ever existed.
  • Future Transport – Many ex-employees have testified to the extensive underground facilities at Area 51. Area 51 is said to be the central hub for an underground train system that crosses the whole continent of North America. An Area 51 runway known as the ‘Cheshire Airstrip’ is believed to be visible only when water is sprayed on its cunningly camouflaged tarmac. Government authorities deny all of this.

  • [Editor’s Note]  The Deep State’s disinformation strategy here is to bring up a list of dubious claims associated with Area 51, and then debunk them all as lacking any evidence. In the public’s mind, storage of extraterrestrial craft and alien bodies become just as ridiculous as laser weapons, controlling the weather, underground train systems, and time travel machines. It becomes too much cognitive dissonance for the average unenlightened person to grasp, and so they toss it all away as one cumulative conspiracy theory. While the government is meticulous in ensuring that no hard evidence is ever revealed from its classified ‘black projects’, there is plenty of compelling anecdotal, documentary and testimonial evidence of alien craft and bodies in the possession of the US government, weather control programs, Majestic 12, advanced technologies including time travel, and an extensive deep underground bullet train system crisscrossing the continent, for anyone who has the mental capacity to research and accept these hidden truths. Still, these types of articles might one day backfire on the Deep State. By planting the seed of knowledge of these “unsubstantiated” covert activities, the mainstream public will be somewhat aware of them when further evidence is eventually revealed to support these accounts.

 

AREA 51 remains shrouded in mystery after more than six decades of secretive tests at the site.

It’s no wonder, then, that the military facility in Nevada has spawned a number of wacky conspiracy theories.

From a production site for ‘exotic weapons’ to meetings with extraterrestrials, we’ve put together some of the weirdest below.

UFO testing

Area 51 has long been rumoured to be America’s main base for testing captured and crashed UFOs.

At the heart of this theory is the Roswell Incident.

This was in 1947 when an occupied flying saucer was allegedly recovered from a crash site near the New Mexico town.

The UFO and its inhabitants were said to have been taken to Area 51.

The 1996 documentary Dreamland featured a 71-year-old mechanical engineer who claimed he worked on a flying disc simulator used to train US pilots.

It was based on a crashed extraterrestrial flying saucer, according to the film.

But others who have worked there say testing of captured aircraft was restricted to Soviet-built MiG fighters.

Rumours increased when the base was used to test Oxcart, the code name for the CIA-ordered Lockheed A-12 reconnaissance plane.

Annie Jacobsen, author of the book Area 51: An Uncensored History Of America’s Top Secret Military Base, explains: “The shape of Oxcart was unprecedented, with its wide disc-like fuselage designed to carry vast quantities of fuel.

“Commercial pilots cruising over Nevada at dusk would look up and see the bottom of Oxcart whizz by at 2,000-plus mph.

“The aircraft’s titanium body, moving as fast as a bullet, would reflect the sun’s rays in a way that could make anyone think: ‘UFO!'”

Dissections of dead aliens and interrogations of living ones are also said to have been carried out at Area 51.

There is, however, no evidence to support this claim.

‘Weather control’

Huge areas of the US suffer water shortages.

There are frequent disputes between farmers, ranchers and householders over access to water for irrigation, animals and domestic uses such as filling swimming pools and watering lawns.

Meteorologists at Area 51 are thought to have experimented with cloud seeding, where chemicals are dropped into clouds from planes to try to make them produce rain.

• Half-a-century after the Apollo 11 astronauts were televised landing on the Moon, one-in-10 Americans believe that NASA faked the whole thing, according to a new poll by SatelliteInternet.com. The number of people who doubt the Moon landing has risen over the last 20 years. A 1999 Gallup poll found that only six percent of Americans doubted the official NASA story.

• Young people, known as ‘Millennials’, make up 18% of these “truthers” who doubt the official NASA version of the mission. Rebecca Lee Armstrong, of SatelliteInternet.com, said, “[M]ore Moon landing conspiracists pop up with every new generation.” She added, “Millennials and Gen Z’ers between the ages of 18 and 34 are six times more likely to believe that NASA pulled the biggest con of the twentieth century than people who were actually around for the first Moon landing are.” 35 to 54 year old’s account for 8%, and Americans over 54 account for 3% who doubt the government. Those who witnessed the Moon landing live on television in 1969 were least likely to question the event.

• About 75% of Moon landing conspiracists also believe that aliens have visited our planet.

• Of those denying that the Moon landing ever happened, 41% think the US flag “waving” on the Moon was a dead giveaway. 53% of Moon landing deniers believe that the actual Moon landing occurred later than 1969. And 98% fear the government spies on its citizens through technology. 51% are also convinced NASA never landed a robotic rover on Mars.

• In response to these naysayers, NASA’s reply was, “Yes, we did.”

• [Editor’s Note]   Since NASA is famous for ‘Never A Straight Answer’, it is no wonder that so many Americans harbor doubts about the 1969 Moon landing, especially the younger ones who have not spent a lifetime being indoctrinated by Deep State disinformation. NASA and the Deep State have always denied the truth of the mission.  The truth is that several large and menacing alien spacecraft directly oversaw the entire event, in plain view, as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed their Lunar Module on the Moon and took a “giant leap for mankind”. On a secure NASA medical radio frequency, Armstrong relayed to mission control the presence of ‘Santa Clause’, code for alien craft. Anticipating this, NASA had “B” roll film footage of fake Moon scenes created by Stanley Kubrick using the sets from his movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”, although they never resorted to using this film footage during the televised event. They were able to edit the footage to hide the alien presence. The aliens did not want them to return. This is the reason why NASA never embarked on any new missions to the Moon after the Apollo missions were completed. Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were sworn to secrecy under the threat of harm to the men and their families. Armstrong lived a reclusive life, rarely giving interviews and only confirming the presence of alien craft to close family and friends. Aldrin has been more outspoken, although cryptic in his public statements, especially in recent years.

 

NASA landed the first man on the Moon 50 years ago this month on July 20, 1969. The Apollo 11 mission saw astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins fly to the Moon and back. But half-a-century later, conspiracists still doubt NASA with one-in-10 Americans accusing the space agency of faking the Moon landing. A new poll conducted ahead of the 50th Apollo 11 anniversary has found the highest number of these so-called truthers fall within the millennial age bracket.

According to the survey by SatelliteInternet.com, the number of people who doubt the Moon landing has risen in the last 20 years.

In 1999, a Gallup poll found only six percent of Americans doubted the official NASA story.

The most recent survey, however, has found 10 percent of Americans do not believe the Moon landing was real.

Of those who doubt the 1969 Moon landing, 18 percent are millennials and “Gen Zers” aged 18 to 34.

Rebecca Lee Armstrong, of SatelliteInternet.com, said in a report: “Survey results showed that more Moon landing conspiracists pop up with every new generation.

“Millennials and Gen Zers between the ages of 18 and 34 are six times more likely to believe that NASA pulled the biggest con of the twentieth century than people who were actually around for the first Moon landing are.

“Younger participants were also more likely to identify as flat-Earthers, but that’s more of a global problem.”
Those aged 35 to 54 only account for about eight percent of Moon landing deniers.

Another three percent of those who deny the Moon landing are aged 54 or older.

According to the survey, those who witnessed the Moon landing unfold live on television were least likely to question the event.

Infamous 1947 UFO Crash Mystery Finally Solved

• June 1947 was the height of the UFO craze. Kenneth Arnold had reported seeing nine unusual saucer-shaped objects near Mount Rainier, Washington and news of his sighting was reported around the world. It was with that news fresh in mind that New Mexico rancher, W.W. “Mac” Brazel, told local Sheriff George Wilcox that he’d found the wreckage of “a flying disc” on his property some 80 miles northwest of Roswell.

• Brazel and his son had come across something inexplicable that day – in his words, “a large area of bright wreckage made up of rubber strips, tin foil, and rather tough paper, and sticks”. Sheriff Wilcox advised a local Air Force colonel, who told his superiors, who put Intelligence Officer Major Jesse Marcel (pictured above, right) in charge of investigating the crash site and collecting the wreckage. Marcel issued a statement to the press. On July 8, 1947, the Roswell Daily Record’s front-page headline read ‘RAAF Captures Flying Saucer On Ranch in Roswell Region.’

• A month earlier, however, on June 4th, 1947, a huge balloon designated NYU Flight 4 lifted off from Alamogordo Army Airfield to a height of 40,000 feet as part of Project Mogul, a top-secret project run by the US Army Air Force to detect Soviet nuclear tests. This is what crashed on Mac Brazel’s ranch.

• Or was the crash, as some claimed, an experimental Nazi “stealth bomber” that the Soviets had captured, filled with genetically-altered children, and deliberately crashed in America on Stalin’s orders in order to sow fear and panic? Or was it the work of a sinister cabal of Jesuit priests who have anti-gravity aircraft and artificial hybrid humans? Or was it the fallout from a firefight between Grey aliens and the US Delta Force in tunnels under New Mexico? Or the unsuccessful test flight of a captured UFO from the base at Groom Lake known as Area 51?

• No. It was a surveillance balloon. Roger Launius, former curator of space history at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. told Smithsonian Magazine: “Apparently, it was better from the Air Force’s perspective that there was a crashed ‘alien’ spacecraft out there than to tell the truth. A flying saucer was easier to admit than Project Mogul, and with that, we were off to the races.”

• So the Roswell crash wasn’t anything as exciting as an extra-terrestrial craft. The chance that the government could have covered-up an event of this magnitude, lasting 72 years, through multiple presidencies and administrations, seems extraordinarily slim.

• [Editor’s Note]    Ah yes. This is the maturing of a long-standing government cover story, brought to you by none other than the Smithsonian Museum, a notorious Deep State bastion of secrecy and disinformation. The Deep State is getting worried that so many people are beginning to see through their ruse. They need to reaffirm the cover story to maintain their base of skeptics who are conditioned to automatically deny UFOs and extraterrestrials. Here, they employ all of the standard devices. They note the hysteria brought on by Kenneth Arnold’s claimed sighting just weeks earlier. They make the eye witness Mac Brazel seem like an unreliable idiot. They bring up the communist Soviet menace that America was defending itself against. They trot out several other notions just as ridiculous as a ‘flying saucer from Mars’. Then they turn to a historical expert – a curator for the Smithsonian – to confirm that the cover story is indeed the most plausible. ‘We didn’t want the Soviets to know about our secret eavesdropping balloon’. Anyone who chooses to buy this nonsense is predisposed to believing anything the government tells them. But more and more folks are waking up to the fact that the elite Deep State government is in it for themselves, and not the people.

 

On July 8, 1947 the Roswell Daily Record’s front-page headline read ‘RAAF Captures Flying Saucer On Ranch in Roswell Region.’

The story began a few weeks earlier when rancher W.W. “Mac” Brazel was driving across his property some 80 miles northwest of Roswell with his son.

The pair came across something bizarre and inexplicable that day. It was, in Brazel’s words, “a large area of bright wreckage made up of rubber strips, tin foil, and rather tough paper, and sticks”.

Brazel noted the unusual wreckage but left it alone, not returning to the site until July 4.

The story contained this earth-shattering sentence from Marcel’s release: “The intelligence office of the 509th Bombardment Group at Roswell Army Air Field announced at noon today, that the field has come into the possession of a Flying Saucer.”

But was that true?

NSA FOIA Response Reveals Seth Rich & Assange/Wikileaks Communications Are Classified

The National Security Agency has responded to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request concerning direct communications between Seth Rich, a former staffer for the Democratic National Committee, and Julian Assange and/or Wikileaks. The NSA issued a “Glomar Response”, where it chose to neither confirm nor deny the requested information due to its existence or “non-existence” being “properly classified”.

The NSA response reveals that communications between Rich and Assange/Wikileaks are subject to classification laws. Their release will have major national security implications that directly impact US Russia relations, and may facilitate disclosure of suppressed secret space program technologies.

I filed the FOIA request after communicating with Ty Clevenger, Esq., who had on October 10, 2017, filed an FOIA request regarding communications between Rich and Assange, along with many other individuals. In his original FOIA letter to the NSA, Clevenger requested:

All documents, records, or communications referencing or containing communications between Seth Rich and any of the following: Julian Assange, Wikileaks, Kim Dotcom, Aaron Rich, Shawn Lucas, Kelsey Mulka, Imran Awan, Abid Awan, Jamal Awan, Hina Alvi, Rao Abbas, and/or any person or entity outside of the United States. The NSA wrote a final response to Clevenger on October 4, 2018:

Your request has been processed under the provisions of the FOIA. Fifteen documents (32 pages) responsive to your request have been reviewed by this Agency as required by the FOIA and have found to be currently and properly classified in accordance with Executive Order 13526. These documents meet the criteria for classification as set forth in Subparagraph (c) of Section 1.4 and remains classified TOP SECRET and SECRET. (pdf available here)

The Clevinger’s FOIA request and the NSA’s response was the subject of an article by Mark McCarty published by Medium.com on April 19, 2019, where he analyzed its consequences for those claiming Rich was the real source of the DNC emails being handed over to Wikileaks. Unfortunately, McCarty’s article was taken down by Medium.com and he was removed as an author from the site in what appears to be a flagrant case of censorship.

I wrote an article on April 25, 2019 commenting on the issues raised in McCarty’s article and NSA’s response to Clevinger’s FOIA request. Of particular interest was what a prominent NSA whistleblower, William Binney, had to say about the NSA’s response:

“Ty Clevenger has FOIAed information from NSA asking for any data that involved both Seth Rich and also Julian Assange.

And they responded by saying we’ve got 15 files, 32 pages, but they’re all classified in accordance with executive order 13526 covering classification, and therefore you can’t have them.

That says that NSA has records of communications between Seth Rich and Julian Assange.  I mean, that’s the only business that NSA is in — copying communications between people and devices.”

In closely examining Clevinger’s request and the NSA’s response, what is left unclear is exactly who Rich was communicating with that the 15 documents (32 pages) were referring to.

This was due to the initial FOIA request by Clevinger being very broad in scope since it asked for multiple individuals that Rich was communicating with in addition to Assange/Wikileaks. Basically, the NSA’s response, as cited above, made it unclear whether the information it had concerned communications between Rich and Assange, or Rich and one of the other named parties.

In order to narrow the scope of the inquiry into Rich’s communications, I filed my own FOIA request to the NSA on April 27, 2019:

I am researching the circumstances surrounding the death of Seth Conrad Rich (“Seth Rich, born January 3, 1968), who was murdered in the District of Columbia on July 10, 2016. I request all documents, records, or correspondence referencing or containing communications between Seth Rich and Julian Assange or Wikileaks.

I received the following response by the NSA on May 1, 2019.

We have determined that the fact of the existence or non-existence of the materials you request is a currently and properly classified matter in accordance with Executive Order 13526, as set forth in Subparagraph (c) of Section 1.4. Thus, your request is denied pursuant to the first exemption of the FOIA which provides that FOIA does not apply to matters that are specifically authorized under criteria established by an Executive Order to be kept secret in the interest of national defense or foreign relations and are, in fact properly classified pursuant to such Executive Order.”

Here is the relevant Section 1.4 referred to by the NSA with emphasis on subparagraph (c):

Sec. 1.4. Classification Categories. Information shall not be considered for classification unless its unauthorized disclosure could reasonably be expected to cause identifiable or describable damage to the national security in accordance with section 1.2 of this order, and it pertains to one or more of the following:

(a) military plans, weapons systems, or operations;
(b) foreign government information;
(c) intelligence activities (including covert action), intelligence sources or methods, or cryptology;
(d) foreign relations or foreign activities of the United States, including confidential sources;
(e) scientific, technological, or economic matters relating to the national security;
(f) United States Government programs for safeguarding nuclear materials or facilities;
(g) vulnerabilities or capabilities of systems, installations, infrastructures, projects, plans, or protection services relating to the national security; or
(h) the development, production, or use of weapons of mass destruction.

The NSA’s response is known as a “Glomar Response”, which is different from a regular denial of a request for official government records as explained by Nate Jones from Unredacted.com:

The Glomar Response is different than a regular FOIA denial—when an agency states that it has the records but that it will not release them.  When an agency replies with a Glomar Response, it refuses even to admit that documents exist; this makes research (and the appeals process) much more difficult.

The NSA’s decision of neither confirming nor denying the existence of direct communications between Rich and Assange/Wikileaks affirms that the NSA is unwilling to directly admit such correspondence exists and makes it difficult for researchers to reach a definitive answer. Nevertheless, what the NSA’s response does reveal is that the alleged communications between Rich and Assange/Wikileaks are a matter of national security.

The NSA response is a startling admission given what has been previously learned about Rich’s role in handing over the DNC emails to Assange and Wikileaks as discussed in my previous article on Rich. Basically, we know that law enforcement sources told journalists Seymour Hersh and Sean Hannity/Fox News that Rich was the source for the DNC party email links.

In addition, Binney was part of a group of former U.S. intelligence officers that wrote a report released on July 24, 2017 explaining why it was impossible for the DNC files to have been downloaded by online hackers, and the most likely explanation was an inside source with direct access to the DNC server who leaked the files through a thumb drive:

Forensic studies of “Russian hacking” into Democratic National Committee computers last year reveal that on July 5, 2016, data was leaked (not hacked) by a person with physical access to DNC computer. After examining metadata from the “Guccifer 2.0” July 5, 2016 intrusion into the DNC server, independent cyber investigators have concluded that an insider copied DNC data onto an external storage device.

The NSA’s responses to Clevinger and my FOIA requests take on even more significance given recent attempts to debunk any purported connection between Rich and Assange/Wikileaks. Michael Isikoff, writing for Yahoo News on July 9, 2019, insisted that the Russians were the real source of the leak and not Rich:

Russian government-owned media organizations RT and Sputnik repeatedly played up stories that baselessly alleged that Rich, a relatively junior-level staffer, was the source of Democratic Party emails that had been leaked to WikiLeaks. It was an idea first floated by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who on Aug. 9, 2016, announced a $20,000 reward for information about Rich’s murder, saying — somewhat cryptically — that “our sources take risks.”

Many mainstream news sources ran with Isikoff’s story which neglected to discuss Binney’s intelligence assessment, the NSA FOIA responses, and what Seymour Hersh had been told about Rich being the source for the leak. It appeared that Isikoff’s story was an attempt to get in front of a developing story stemming from Assange’s looming extradition to the US, and his expected testimony tying Rich to the DNC emails released by Wikileaks.

The conclusion that emerges from the NSA FOIA responses and what other researchers have revealed is that the Deep State has framed Russia for a domestic leak by a disgruntled DNC employee, Seth Rich. The Deep State’s purpose was to undermine Trump’s presidential campaign and his subsequent administration through concocted Russia collusion charges, and to impede meaningful cooperation  between Trump and Putin on a host of global policy issues.

One of these global policy areas concerns the official disclosure of exotic aerospace technologies secretly used by the US and Russia in their respective secret space programs, which I have described elsewhere. The disclosure of such technologies could do much to resolve global security and energy problems, but would have major repercussions for the petroleum and pharmaceutical industries that are dependent on antiquated fuel and medical technologies.

What has clearly emerged since the DNC emails were leaked is that the mainstream news media, along with major social media companies such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Google, have all colluded to deceive the US and the global public over the real source of the leaked DNC emails. As the truth emerges about Rich being the true source for emails leaked by Wikileaks in 2016, the role and power of the Deep State in manipulating public opinion so brazenly for over two years is about to be exposed. This exposure will open the door for exotic technology disclosures that can revolutionize life on our planet.

• New research into supermassive black holes suggest that intelligent extraterrestrial beings could feed off the black holes’ radiation, even powering photosynthesis, which can be used to fuel life.

• In order for life to exist as we know it, the presence of water is integral. The presence of liquid water depends a planet’s distance from its star, whether the planet is located within the Goldilocks Zone. Venus is closer to the Sun than the Earth, and it is therefore unable to host life because it is too hot. Other planets are too cold, so only water in the form of ice exists. Neptune and Uranus are inhabitable because they are made entirely of gas. Because liquid water can’t exist, life is unable to flourish. But a drifting “rogue planet” might find itself within this Goldilocks Zone, and suddenly alien life can bloom.

• Harvard University astronomer, Mansavi Lingham, author of a study published in the Astrophysical Journal, believes black holes could provide a light source for planets which have no nearby host star to create such a Goldilocks Zone. Says Lingham, “People have mostly been talking about the detrimental effects of black holes. We wanted to ask ourselves if there were any positives.”

UFOs Are Real But They Might Not Be From Outer Space!

• Navy pilots recently interviewed by The New York Times and appearing in the History Channel documentary series: Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation, reported detecting several UFOs during flight training between 2014 and 2015. Their radars detected these UFOs flying at hypersonic speeds at altitudes just over 9000 metres (30,000 feet), despite having no obvious means of propulsion. UFO sightings along the Southeastern US coast and in the Persian Gulf have been reported by six Navy pilots. One of the pilots, Lt. Danny Accoin, said, “It seemed like (the UFOs) were aware of our presence because they would actively move around us.” None of the pilots suggested that the UFOs were alien in origin, however.

• Leon Golub, a senior astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, said the possibility of an extra-terrestrial cause “is so unlikely that it competes with many other low-probability but more mundane explanations,” such as “bugs in the code for the imaging and display systems, atmospheric effects and reflections, neurological overload from multiple inputs during high-speed flight.”

• As a rule, the more mundane explanation for UFO sightings is the logical one. The US Air Force’s Project Blue Book collected more than 12,000 sightings between 1952 and 1969. All but 6% were “explained” astronomical, atmospheric or human phenomena. The US National Science Foundation’s Project Ozma monitored two stars: Tau Ceti and Epsilon Eridani for six hours a day from April to July 1960. No signal was found.

• Seth Shostak, a senior astronomer at the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute (SETI) said the UFOs could be drones from rival countries. Shostak also noted that these pilots began spotting the UFOs after their plane’s radar system was upgraded, which suggests that the sightings might be due to some software bug. SETI began as a government program under NASA, and continued as a private effort in 1993 when funding from the US Congress ended.

• The SETI Institute in a joint project with the University of California, Berkeley, built 42 individual telescopes that function as a single massive instrument to observe up to 1 million nearby stars for radio or optical signals. Dubbed the Allen Telescope Array, it began observations in 2007. Italy’s University of Bologna also has a radio SETI search, and Harvard University in Boston has an optical SETI search. So, while the US Air Force’s detection of UFOs might not be aliens visiting the Earth – the various SETI efforts around the world might just one day lead to such a discovery.

• [Editor’s Note]   Once again, the Deep State institutions are lining up to debunk what Navy pilots are seeing with their own eyes.  Seth Shostak and SETI along with Harvard-Smithsonian, are leading the charge toward abject unenlightenment and disinformation surrounding the extraterrestrial/UFO phenomenon. Despite the overwhelming evidence of UFO’s, or ET-controlled drone UFOs which is most likely, that are routinely operating in our skies, the Deep State is pushing hard to make sure that the mainstream public does not take this seriously, and to disregard it all as a ‘glitch in the technology’. ‘There’s nothing to see here. We have it covered. Move along. Move along.’

 

According to recent media reports, between 2014 and 2015, US Navy pilots detected several Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) during training. Their radars detected these UFOs flying at hypersonic speeds at altitudes just over 9000 metres, despite having no obvious means of propulsion.

In total, six pilots who were stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt during that time period spotted UFOs during flights along the Southeast coast of the US, The New York Timesreported late last month.

Two of the Navy pilots interviewed by The New York Times have also appeared in the new History Channel documentary series: Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation, which also premiered late last month.

The objects had “no distinct wing, no distinct tail, no distinct exhaust plume,” Lt. Danny Accoin, one of the pilots said. “It seemed like they were aware of our presence because they would actively move around us.”

Accoin had told the Times that although tracking equipment, radar and infrared cameras on his aircraft had detected the UFOs twice, he was unable to capture them on his helmet camera.

Meanwhile, Lt. Ryan Graves, the other pilot featured in the documentary said that a squadron of UFOs followed his Navy strike group up and down the eastern coast of the US for months. After the USS Theodore Roosevelt was deployed to the Arabian Gulf in March 2015, the UFOs reappeared.

Such accounts would surely fire up the imagination of those of us who are fascinated by the thought of extra-terrestrials visiting our planet. However before we get too excited about this prospect, it’s worth noting that none of the pilots interviewed by the Times suggested that the UFOs they detected were alien in origin.

So, what were they? Well, the pilots themselves thought that they might have been part of a highly-classified drone programme using cutting-edge technology. There are other possibilities.

Epstein Arrest Supports Q Anon Claims of Global Satanic Cult blackmailing Political Elites

The arrest of billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein on child sex trafficking charges threatens to unmask a far deeper layer of crimes that involved the ritualistic abuse of children on Epstein’s private island, and the many political elites that were flown there to participate. The arrest directly supports repeated claims made by the military intelligence group Q Anon that Epstein was part of a global Satanic cult that blackmailed political elites who were compromised at Epstein’s island through the sexual exploitation of children, and more serious physical abuses.

As US Federal prosecutors investigate the full extent of the crimes committed by Epstein through his child sex trafficking ring, the sinister activities that occurred on his island will receive closer scrutiny, as will the involvement of those elites that participated.

News of Epstein’s arrest was first broken by the Daily Beast, which revealed that he was to be formally charged with sex trafficking of children. On Monday, July 8, Epstein’s sealed indictment was unsealed and publicly released. It states:

  1. As set forth herein, over the course of many hears, JEFFREY EPSTEIN, the defendant, sexually exploited and abused dozens of minor girls at his homes in Manhattan, New York, and Palm Beach, Florida, among other locations. Source.

In the unsealed indictment, the focus is on two of Epstein’s properties, those in Manhattan and Palm Beach. The indictment opens the door to further changes of similar sex trafficking at “other locations” including his private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands called “Little Saint James.” In addition to a mansion and guest houses, Little Saint James includes a temple-like structure, which I will discuss later (see Wikipedia).

At a press conference, prosecutors invited other victims to come forward and share their testimonies with investigators from the FBI and the Southern District of New York. The invitation is expected to open the floodgates to many new witnesses coming forward with their accounts of what they witnessed or participated in at the various residences owned by Epstein, especially his private island that was a popular retreat for elites as evidenced by flight records.

Among the first to draw attention to Epstein and the crimes being committed on his private island was the military intelligence group Q Anon. In a November 11, 2017 post, Q Anon laid out the big picture of how a Satanic cult controls social and political elites through the sexual exploitation and abuse of minors, and how Epstein’s Little Saint James was a key part of this global network.

Q began (post 133) by laying out who were the “puppet masters” atop this Satanic network and how they control more than seven trillion dollars in assets to manipulate governments and political elites through slush funds, war, and various global agreements:

The temple on Epstein’s island was situated atop a small hill on Little Saint James, and appeared to be the top level of a multilayered structure comprising tunnels and rooms situated deep beneath it, as illustrated by the following image. Q’s post alluded to the temple being part of a global network of Satanic worshippers.

By “puppet masters”, Q was referring to the Rothschild Family, the House of Saud, and the Soros Group, and asking supporters to investigate how many members of these elite families had visited Epstein’s Little Saint James.

It’s important to keep in mind that Q made the above post in November 2017, and has referred to Epstein many times since as attempting to hide the activities that occurred on his private island. In an April 3, 2018 post (#999), Q said:

Why is Epstein spending $29mm to bury the tunnels underneath is temple on Epstein Island?
Problem.
Phones were allowed in.
These people are stupid.

So even though the tunnels under the temple on Epstein’s island were being destroyed to hide evidence of Satanic ritual abuses that occurred there, Q was alluding to phones that covertly recorded what had happened through backdoor hacking tools used by the NSA. Apparently, the NSA was able to monitor and record activities inside the temple through the phones brought in by elites who never thought they would be caught.

Q’s repeated posts mentioning Epstein, and the existence of thousands of sealed indictments targeting corrupt elites/Deep State have long been examined by supporters and critics alike. Critics have vehemently attempted to debunk the existence of thousands of sealed indictments even though court records show an unusually high number of sealed Federal cases that have accrued since October 2017.

The current estimate is over 100,000 sealed cases, a significant proportion of which are sealed indictments such as Epstein’s. Another recently unsealed indictment involved Keith Raniere, founder of the sex cult, NXIM who on June 19, 2019, was found guilty of sex trafficking by a Brooklyn jury.

Many major media sources are giving Epstein’s arrest prominent coverage, but are spinning the information in a way that is damaging to the Trump administration through his current Labor Secretary, Alex Acosta, who had negotiated a sweetheart deal for Epstein under previous Federal charges brought forward in Florida. Acosta is expected to soon resign  or be sacked by the Trump White House.

Presently, the mainstream news is focused firmly on child sex trafficking abuses that occurred at Epstein’s Manhattan and Palm Beach residences. Yet, Q Anon has been telling us for over 1.5 years about even more sinister abuses occurring at Epstein’s private island, and the many elites that directly participated.

Given the current charges brought against Epstein, it’s all but certain that similar sexual exploitation of children was occurring at Epstein’s Little Saint James, and this will likely lead to further charges as victims come forward identifying those who abused them. However, it’s the far more sinister Satanic ritual abuses that occurred at Epstein’s island that Q Anon is telling us to pay close attention to, since this involved elites that would subsequently be blackmailed by the “puppet masters” (Rothschilds, Saudis, and Soros).

Epstein’s arrest is not the first time that evidence has emerged of political elites being compromised through sexual liaisons with minors and/or being involved in Satanic ritual abuse. The 1992 book, The Franklin Coverup, by John DeCamp, a former State Senator for Nebraska (1971-1987), presented much evidence of such practices.

Additionally, a former Dutch banker, Ronald Bernard, has given his firsthand testimony about how the pyramid structure of the Illuminati (aka Deep State) operates, and how the progression to higher levels requires participation in Satanic ritual abuse of children.

Unfortunately, both DeCamp’s book and Bernard’s revelations were widely ignored by the mainstream media, which, as Q repeatedly tells us, is controlled by the Deep State.

As Federal investigators dig deeper into the elite figures involved in the manipulation and abuse of minors in a sex trafficking ring, there will be many more sealed indictments being publicly unsealed for upcoming arrests and trials. This will ultimately lead to the exposure of abuses that occurred at Epstein’s other residences, particularly at Little Saint James.

The unsealing of the sealed indictment against Epstein comes as a powerful vindication for what Q has been revealing for well over a year about thousands of sealed indictments secretly put in place against Deep State figures. As more sealed indictments are released to the public, we will learn about the Satanic practices that lie at the core of how the Deep State operates and is run by leading families.

In previous articles, I have shown the connections between Satanism, ruling bloodline families, extraterrestrial life, and the suppression of advanced technologies. As the collapse of the Deep State accelerates with Epstein’s arrest, we are destined to learn much about many previously kept secrets and can thank Q Anon for having been a catalyst for the events we are presently witnessing.

• Navy pilots have reported seeing alien UFOs is the skies, and Congressmen are being briefed on it. These UFO sightings should be investigated in a scientific way, but errors in thinking are undermining the effort. There are two reasons why we should not conclude that these are extraterrestrial craft.

• But the pro-extraterrestrial visitation arguments rest on two serious errors. One is the confusion of observations with interpretations, and the other is a slight twist on an error called ‘god of the gaps’.

• The first error is that Navy pilots cannot know a flying object’s speed or acceleration without knowing whether these were little things seen up close, or bigger things farther away. Former NASA engineer James Oberg says, “The bizarre events reported by Navy pilots are not ‘observations’; they are interpretations of what the raw observations might mean.”

• The second error is that when a scientist cannot explain something, they go to the supernatural explanation or an “act of God”. The same thing is happening with UFOs, with alien visitors being used to fill gaps in our understanding of the latest detection technology, the sky and human vision. Extraterrestrial visitors and gods fall into the same category of unscientific explanation because they haven’t shown themselves to humanity in a coherent enough way for claims about them to be tested.

• The arguments for extraterrestrial UFOs falsely equate the possibility that extraterrestrial life exists with the plausibility that it’s visiting us. Yes, there are other planets out there, and some might harbor life forms. But why should we assume they’d want to come here? Are we really that exciting?

• Many UFOs have been explained scientifically. The Air Force conducted studies starting in 1947, and continuing through the 1960’s, when the matter was turned over to a panel of civilian scientists headed by physicist Edward Condon at the University of Colorado. The committee explained most of the outstanding cases as reflections, equipment glitches, balloons, astronomical phenomena and human-built craft. So what about the unexplained cases?

• Len Finegold, a retired UC physics professor who consulted on a few Condon cases says there are plenty of unexplained phenomena left in physics, “so we’re used to that.” Mysteries of life may one day be solved, but in the meantime, let’s get comfortable with the gaps.

• [Editor’s Note]    This is a hard core Deep State response to the UFO phenomenon, which the government has maintained since the 1940’s. They roll out their greatest hits of half-baked, irrational arguments to prove that UFOs and aliens do not exist. First, experienced Navy pilots have no idea what they are looking at. Second, the ignorant public tends to attribute outrageous religious or supernatural explanations to natural but as yet undiscovered phenomenon. Thirdly, the government has thoroughly and scientifically examined the UFO phenomenon and proclaimed that there is nothing to it. Lastly – and this is the best one – why would any extraterrestrial want to come here? It appears that the Deep State has shifted its ‘deny and cover-up’ strategy from all-out ridicule to a reasoned argument that we’re all just a bunch of idiots who should leave the heavy thinking to the ‘experts’.

 

If you’re reluctant to believe the latest round of media claims that alien spacecraft are lurking around our airspace and surprising Navy pilots, well, you are not alone.

The New York Times leaned toward aliens as the reason Navy pilots have seen unexplained flying objects, and the Washington Post made a similar case in its news coverage followed by a guest editorial: “UFOs exist and everyone needs to adjust to that fact.” Others followed suit. Congress is getting classified briefings.

But the pro-extraterrestrial visitation arguments rest on two serious errors. One is the confusion of observations with interpretations, and the other is a slight twist on an error called god of the gaps. The first error made in most of the news coverage was to claim that Navy pilots observed craft that accelerated, rose upwards or turned faster than was physically possible. But pilots can’t know any object’s speed or acceleration without knowing whether these were little things, seen close up, or bigger things, that were farther away. It’s just one clue that the vocabulary is being blurred.

James Oberg, a former NASA engineer turned space journalist, pointed out: “The bizarre events reported by Navy pilots are not ‘observations’; they are interpretations of what the raw observations might mean.” To start an investigation from a conclusion rather than from data is, he says, “a recipe for confusion and frustration and dead-ended detours.” 1

The other error cropped up many times when I wrote newspaper stories about evolution. Readers would sometimes write in to argue that if scientists couldn’t completely explain some phenomenon – say, the origin of DNA – then it must be an act of God. Theologians sometimes use the term “god of the gaps” to describe the erroneous use of supernatural explanations for natural phenomena that aren’t yet explained. The same thing is happening with UFOs, with alien visitors being used to fill gaps in our understanding of the latest detection technology, the sky and human vision.

• Fossil evidence suggests that life began very early in Earth’s history, and this has led people to determine that life might be quite common in the universe because it happened so quickly here. But life on Earth doesn’t translate to a probability of life on other planets according to the Oxford paper, “Dissolving the Fermi Paradox” (see here for exoarticle).

• A 2018 study from the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford University suggests that, although this universe potentially hosts 50 quintillion habitable planets, the expectation that life has or will develop on other planets as it has on Earth might be based more on optimism than scientific evidence.

• Oxford neurobiologist Colin Blakemore took this a step further by suggesting that a mutation in the brain of a single human being 200,000 years ago that turned primates into a super-intelligent species was a genetic accident. Says Blakemore, “This leads to… conclude that there is a fairly high likelihood that we are alone.”

• David Spiegel of Princeton University and Edwin Turner from the University of Tokyo used Bayesian reasoning to show that just because we evolved on Earth, doesn’t mean that the same occurrence would necessarily happen elsewhere. Just because the universe is vast and we therefore have an expectation that life would exist outside of Earth, doesn’t prove that such extraterrestrial life actually exists. And even if it did, abiogenesis would require Earth-like circumstances.

It is very possible that Earth is a cosmic aberration and “no evidence exists to substantially change that.”

In contrast to Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb’s optimism that extraterrestrials are less speculative than dark matter or extra dimensions, a study that we posted in September of 2018 conducted by three scholars from the Future of Humanity Institute (FHI) at Oxford University, suggests that although we exist in a universe with a potential 50 quintillion habitable planets, the expectation that life — from inorganic to bacteria to sentient beings —abiogenesis– has or will develop on other planets as it has on Earth, might be based more on optimism than scientific evidence.

Colin Blakemore, an Oxford neurobiologist not involved in the FHI study argued that a mutation in the brain of a single human being 200,000 years ago turned intellectually able primates into a super-intelligent species that would conquer the world. “There is no sign that the human brain has reached its capacity to accumulate knowledge,” adds Blakemore, “which means that the wonders we have already created – from spaceships to computers – represent only the start of our achievements.”

Fossil evidence suggests that life began very early in Earth’s history and that has led people to determine that life might be quite common in the universe because it happened so quickly here, but the knowledge about life on Earth simply doesn’t reveal much about the actual probability of life on other planets. suggests the Oxford paper, “Dissolving the Fermi Paradox”.

The study was jointly-conducted by Anders Sandberg, a Research Fellow at the Future of Humanity Institute and a Martin Senior Fellow at Oxford University; Eric Drexler, the engineer who popularized the concept of nanotechnology; and Tod Ord, Australian moral philosopher at Oxford University.

The study concluded that “even using the guesstimates in the literature (we took them and randomly combined the parameter estimates) one can have a situation where the mean number of civilizations in the galaxy might be fairly high – say a hundred – and yet the probability that we are alone in the galaxy is 30%! The reason is that there is a very skewed distribution of likelihood.

“The probability of getting life and intelligence on a planet has an extreme uncertainty given what we know – we cannot rule out that it happens nearly everywhere there is the right conditions, but we cannot rule out that it is astronomically rare. This leads to an even stronger uncertainty about the number of civilizations, drawing us to conclude that there is a fairly high likelihood that we are alone. However, we also conclude that we shouldn’t be too surprised if we find intelligence!”

In an earlier study, David Spiegel of Princeton University and Edwin Turner from the University of Tokyo turned the Drake equation upside down using Bayesian reasoning to show that just because we evolved on Earth, doesn’t mean that the same occurrence would necessarily happen elsewhere; “using evidence of our own existence doesn’t show anything” they argue, “other than that we are here.”
