Perseverance Rover Instruments to Search for Alien Life

Article by Tom Fish                            May 28, 2020                            (express.co.uk)

• NASA plans to launch a Mars rover mission on July 17, 2020 to arrive on Mars’ surface on February 18, 2021. The space agency has provided new insights about the sensors that will be used on its 2020 Perseverance Rover while it traverses the Martian surface in search of evidence of alien life. A cutting-edge camera and a unique ultraviolet laser will work in tandem to analyze the chemical and mineral makeup of the Red Planet’s soil. Experts hope this can track down potential signs of past alien life.

• The main instrument, called ‘SHERLOC’ (Scanning Habitable Environments with Raman & Luminescence for Organics & Chemicals) will be mounted on the end of one of the Mars rover’s robotic arms. SHERLOC will emit a quarter-sized ultraviolet laser at the ground to enable scientists to measure the way the light scatters, in order to identify a spectral “fingerprint” revealing certain organic material and to determine what kind of minerals and chemical compounds the soil is made from. “If we see organics clumping together on one part of a rock, it might be a sign that microbes thrived there in the past,” said NASA’s Luther Beegle.

• SHERLOC will work with ‘WATSON’ (Wide Angle Topographic Sensor for Operations and Engineering), another instrument that will help with the light-scattering spectroscopy and allow the Mars rover’s remote pilots to identify promising areas of the ground from which to collect samples. WATSON can also be rotated to take selfies of the Perseverance and to keep track of the rover’s condition. The Perseverance 2020 Rover will also monitor the effects of radiation on samples of human space suit fabric and helmet material to determine whether it is safe to use. The rover’s robotic arm will place the samples in half-inch wide metal tubes that will be left on Mars’ surface for a subsequent Mars mission crew to retrieve and return to Earth for detailed analysis.

search of evidence of basic forms of alien life. A cutting-edge powered camera and a unique ultraviolet laser will work in tandem to monitor the Red Planet’s soil to analyse its chemical and mineral makeup.

The main instrument, the Scanning Habitable Environments with Raman & Luminescence for Organics & Chemicals (SHERLOC), will be mounted on the end of one of the Mars rover’s robotic arms.

SHERLOC will emit a quarter-sized ultraviolet laser at the ground.

Space scientists will then measure the way the light scatters when it hits the ground to work out what kind of minerals and chemical compounds it is made from.

The technique will also identify the unique spectral “fingerprint” certain alien organic material might give off.

Extraterrestrial life experts hope this can track down potential signs of past alien life.

A Lot of You Believe in Bigfoot

Article by Jazz Shaw                               May 25, 2020                             (hotair.com)

• Market research firm, CivicScience, recently took a poll of more than 3,400 Americans to test their belief in a variety of “conspiracy theories” ranging from the existence of extraterrestrials to whether or not the Moon landing in 1969 was faked. The survey goes deep to identify subgroups and their beliefs.

• Nearly 30% of people polled believe that intelligent extraterrestrial life has been visiting us here on Earth. Nearly a quarter of respondents (23%) are certain that the United States government is in possession of definitive proof that the aliens are here but is hiding it from the public.

• Nine percent of those polled believe that the government is using chemtrails to control the population. Eight percent are convinced that the Illuminati are real and they control most human events around the world. Eight percent also think the Loch Ness Monster is a real. And four percent think the Moon landing was a hoax.

• One surprising statistic was that over ten percent of Americans believe that Bigfoot (or Sasquatch) is a real, living animal that roams the woods. Every state in the U.S. has had at least one Bigfoot sighting, and every state has at least one Bigfoot organization. Men and women are equally likely to believe in Bigfoot. Generation Z is more likely to believe, while Millennials and Baby Boomers are slightly more skeptical.” People living in the West and the Pacific Northwest are significantly more likely to find Sasquatch plausible than people in the Northeast, which makes sense as the vast majority of sightings are reported out west. Regular viewers of Fox News are five times more likely (39%) to believe in Bigfoot than viewers of CNN (6%) or MSNBC (8%).

• Of course, the big word to keep in mind here is “believe.” Much the same as with extraterrestrials, the existence of Bigfoot will always come down to a question of belief unless and until some indisputable physical proof is brought forward.

There’s a very active subculture on social media that attracts people who believe in any number of offbeat subjects ranging from the paranormal and cryptozoology to those who insist that the Earth is flat. One cryptid, in particular, has a huge, loyal following and a recent survey appears to back up this phenomenon with solid numbers. Market research firm CivicScience completed a poll of more than 3,400 Americans to test their belief in a variety of “conspiracy theories” ranging from subjects such as extraterrestrials to whether or not the moon landing in 1969 was faked. One of the most surprising statistics, at least to me, was the fact that more than one in ten Americans believe that Bigfoot (or Sasquatch) is a real, living animal that roams the woods. He’s also apparently the all-time world champion of social distancing. (Paul Seaburn for Mysterious Universe)

It’s often said that every state in the U.S. has had at least one Bigfoot sighting and every state has at least one Bigfoot organization. Bigfoot television series dominate reality shows of the cryptid kind, so it should come as no surprise that a new survey found 1 in 10 Americans profess a belief in the big hairy one. However, when compared to belief in extraterrestrials, Bigfoot is a distant third behind aliens and aliens (we’ll explain). Does Sasquatch need better public relations, a better name … or some better conspiracy theories?

“More than 1 in 10 American adults believes that Bigfoot is a real, living creature. Men and women are roughly equally likely to believe in Sasquatch. And whereas belief in alien theories peaked among Gen X, there was a strong cohort of Gen Z that expressed belief in Bigfoot. Millennials and Baby Boomers were slightly more skeptical.”

Belief in bigfoot wasn’t the most popular theory by a long shot. Nearly 30% believe that not only is there other, intelligent extraterrestrial life in the galaxy, but that it’s been visiting us here on Earth. Nearly a quarter of respondents (23%) are certain that the United States government is in possession of definitive proof that the aliens are here but is hiding it from the public.

Forced & Faked Alien “Abductions” Were Conducted by the CIA Says Renowned Researcher

Article by Arjun Walia                            May 28, 2020                           (collective-evolution.com)

• Dr. Jacques Vallee, the French astrophysicist who co-developed the first computerized map of Mars for NASA in 1963 and was a close associate Project Blue Book’s J. Allen Hynek, has written several books on the UFO enigma. Vallee has investigated an uncountable amount of case reports regarding UFOs and extraterrestrial beings. He’s been a major player in bringing the UFO phenomenon to the mainstream public. Vallee knows that something real and quite possibly extraterrestrial and inter-dimensional is going on. He is currently a venture capitalist living in San Francisco.

• Credible information regarding UFO sightings, crash retrievals, contact experiences with ‘aliens’, and possible bodies are out there to be examined. But there is a lot of disinformation out there as well. It is well documented that for years intelligence agency and government operatives infiltrated the UFO community for the purpose of deceiving researchers – and for one simple reason: to hide the truth. These disinformation initiatives still seem to be in operation today. On top of disinformation, there has long been an official campaign of ridicule and secrecy as well. Vallee is one of many who have written about the evidence of well-constructed hoaxes and media manipulations designed to mislead UFO researchers and the public.

• In one of his latest books, Forbidden Science 4, Vallee makes an entry for March 26, 1992 writing: “I have secured a document confirming that the CIA simulated UFO abductions in Latin America (Brazil and Argentina) as psychological warfare experiments.” In the book, Vallee notes that Air Force Colonel Ron Blackburn told Vallee in May 1990 that he was “convinced the government is working on UFOs”. Blackburn said that the chances were “pretty good” that the US government was “fooling” UFO witnesses “by special effects developed by psychological warfare”. “Suppose you shine a week infrared laser into people’s eyes,” said Blackburn. “[I]t won’t hurt them but may induce a hallucinatory state. Experiments have been done where you send a microwave beam through someone’s brain; you pick up the transmitted energy pattern. You can influence people this way, even make them hear things. Holograms have been used too.”

• In 1992, Vallee wrote that he had received a document that the CIA had been involved with staging UFO (alien abductions). There are many examples and evidence that point to staged abductions happening for reasons unknown, and that it’s also continuing today. It’s not surprising if you’ve looked into the CIA’s technologically advanced black budget world with programs like MK Ultra intended to manipulate the perception of the masses.

• In his book, Vallee also mentions retired Air Force Special investigations officer Richard Doty. Doty’s job in the Air Force was to spread disinformation about the UFO subject. Doty has admitted to infiltrating UFO circles along with his colleagues to ‘feed’ ufologists and journalists lies and half-truths so that they would never understand the ‘real truth’.

• Retired university professor Dr. David Jacobs hypnotically regressed people who claimed to have had ET abduction experiences. Thousands of these ‘abductees’ share the same story of forced impregnation and ‘hybrid’ children, among other things. Could some of these forced abduction experiments simply be deep black government projects? Yes. But there are many who have claimed to have had non-threatening or even pleasant encounters with alien beings. Still, even these ‘abductees’ often sensed a military component to the encounter.

• Could the story about President Eisenhower’s meeting with aliens and the secret deal to allow a certain amount of human abductions in exchange for technology also be fabricated? Could all reported alien abductions be military operations? It’s not likely.

Throughout history, the field of ufology and the examination of the extraterrestrial hypothesis has, without a doubt, been overcome with a plethora of

                      Dr. Jacques Vallee

disinformation. Those who have dived into the depths of ufology know this best, as it’s well documented that ‘outsiders’ from intelligence agencies and governments have infiltrated the field for the purposes of deceiving researchers and people who are interested in the topic for one simple reason, to keep them

          Dr. David Jacobs

away from the truth. On top of these disinformation campaigns, which still seem to be in operation today, there has long been an “official campaign of ridicule and secrecy” (Roscoe Hillenkoetter, Ex CIA director) associated with the subject. This is why I encourage all those reading who dive into this subject to stick with facts, data, and evidence rather than entertain what seem to be outlandish claims that in no way, at all, can be verified.

I’d like to draw your attention to Dr. Jacques Vallee, who holds a master’s degree in astrophysics and a Ph.D. in computer science. The subject of UFOs first attracted his attention as an astronomer in Paris. He subsequently became a close associate of Project Blue Book’s J. Allen Hynek and has written several books on the UFO enigma. He is currently a venture capitalist living in San Francisco. Vallée co-developed the first computerized map of Mars for NASA in 1963. He later worked on the network information center for the ARPANET, a precursor to the modern Internet, as a staff engineer of SRI International’s Augmentation Research Center under Douglas Engelbart.

                     Richard Doty

He’s a researcher that’s had a very interesting life, to say the least, with regards to researching the topic of UFOs. He’s come into contact with and had meetings with most experts in the field, politicians from around the world, high ranking military personnel and much more. His journey into the subject has led him to investigate an uncountable amount of case reports regarding UFOs and supposed extraterrestrial beings, and he’s been a major player with regards to bringing the mainstream scientific community forward to look at the evidence and data that’s involved with such a serious subject, that, in his time, was largely ridiculed. He is an important reason why the phenomenon has gained as much credibility as it has today.

Valle is one of many who have written about and documented the startling evidence that well-constructed hoaxes and media manipulations have misled UFO researchers, diverting them from the UFO phenomenon itself, what’s really going on.

In one of his latest books, Forbidden Science 4, he shares a record of his private study into unexplained phenomena between 1990 and the end of the millennium, during which he was traveling around the global pursuing his professional work as a high-technology investor. It’s a bit of a diary, documenting his experiences and encounters/meetings as he tries to examine and explore the phenomenon.

Mysterious UFO Above Secretive US Military Space Base Sparks Online Frenzy

Article by Oli Smith                           May 28, 2020                              (express.co.uk)

• A YouTube video uploaded on May 22nd shows a white, orb-shaped “cloud” UFO zooming around in the air above a wooded area close to the tightly-guarded NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) base. In the footage, the eyewitness recording the encounter can be heard to say, “What the fuck is that?” The UFO also appears to be making a mysterious rumbling sound as it hovers and moves around the sky. In the final few seconds of the video, the orb appears to flicker before disappearing behind the trees. (see xx minute video below)

• The NORAD base, located inside Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is designed to warn the Pentagon and the White House in the event of a nuclear attack against the US. Situated 610 meters (2000 feet) under the mountain and sealed off by massive concrete and steel blast doors, the base’s bunker system was built to withstand a nuclear blast.

• Scott C Waring, who runs ET Data Base, wrote: “Here is a great example of a white cloud orb flying low in a cloudless sky. …These orbs are white when they are 30 meters or further away from you, but when they are 2 meters from you they have a pearlescent surface that moves ever so slowly.”

• A YouTube skeptic commented, “Logically, I would say it was a plane or helicopter but it looks round and white, and the fact that it’s near a military base does make me think. A good sighting.”

A bizarre UFO recorded flying over the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) sparked a social media frenzy this week. Footage shows a white, orb-shaped craft zooming around in the air above a wooded area close to the tightly-guarded and secretive NORAD base. The anonymous witness who filmed the small flying vessel said they saw UFO “while out on a walk”

In the footage, the eyewitness recording the encounter can be heard saying: “Where is it? What the f*** is that?”

The UFO also appears to be making a mysterious rumbling sound as it hovers and moves around the sky.

The video was uploaded to YouTube by ET Data Base, a popular channel for UFO sightings, and set off a frenzy of theories about the object.

People Are Convinced of a UFO Crash in Brazil

Article by Brit Dawson                           May 22, 2020                             (dazeddigital.com)

• Thousands of residents in the municipality of Magé, just north of Rio de Janeiro, reported seeing glowing lights in the sky on Wednesday (May 20), with many uploading videos to Reddit and Twitter. The clips appear to show a flashing, circular orange light moving through the night sky.

• According to Brazilian news site UOL, the local authorities and the Brazilian Air Force have no records about any UFOs seen on Wednesday. But the conspiracy about a cover-up was gaining even more traction, newly fueled by a Google Maps link showing a white (glowing) UFO-shape covering Magé. “What people are seeing in the imagery is a reflection that’s temporarily overloading the satellite’s sensor,” said a Google spokesperson. “Essentially, the sun reflected off the surface of that building just at the right angle to briefly blind the satellite. This is a pretty common phenomenon known as saturation or blooming.”

[Editor’s Note]   This article is about a glowing orange orb moving through the night sky in Magé, Brazil on May 20th. Could it be a rescue party looking for the red orb that was shot down near Magé on May 12th with three “humanoid” occupants?

The city of Magé is in the state of Rio DeJaneiro, just north of the city of Rio DeJaneiro on the southern coast of Brazil. In her ‘Earthfiles’ YouTube posting of May 27th, Linda Moulton Howe reported on the “high strangeness” going on in Magé. (see video below)

According to Linda Moulton Howe, U.S. military satellites detected unexplained aerial phenomenon along the Brazilian coast on April 20th. On April 21st the U.S. DoD advised the Ministry of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Brazil to intensify the air patrol in the vicinity of Rio DeJaneiro due to UFO activity there. On May 1st, Brazilian radar detected UFO activity in the state of Rio DeJeneiro. They had zeroed in on this area when the incident of May 12th occurred.

In the early hours of May 12th, local residents of Magé heard the sound of helicopters. When they went outside, they saw in the night sky two helicopters chasing a red orb darting around over the city. Soon, two more helicopters joined the chase and managed to shoot down this glowing red UFO. The next two days, May 12th & 13th, the military cordoned off the area of the woods where the UFO was shot down. Aircraft were constantly circling over the crash zone.

The Brazilian military informed the U.S. military that a UFO was downed in the woods near Magé. U.S. Space Force General John ‘Jay’ Raymond deployed 20 Special Forces military personnel to the woods north of Magé. The U.S. Special Forces arrived at the crash site In the early morning hours of May 13th. They verified that the object was a damaged UFO craft with three humanoid occupants. Apparently, one of the occupants, about 6’-6” tall, ran away. The Special Forces tracked the humanoid being down and killed it with an energy weapon. The other two occupants were taken alive. On May 14th, the beings and their “displacement devices” were transported to an unknown U.S. base.

It’s safe to say the internet is obsessed with aliens and UFOs. Last year, a plan to storm Area 51 – because “they can’t stop all of us” – attracted millions of attendees on Facebook, even leading to a spike in searches for alien porn (OK?). While just last month, alien enthusiasts lost their shit over the Pentagon’s release of declassified UFO videos. Now, these fanatics have a new mystery on their hands: a supposed UFO crash in Brazil.

Thousands of residents in the municipality of Magé, just north of Rio de Janeiro, reported seeing glowing lights in the sky on Wednesday (May 20), with many uploading videos to Reddit and Twitter. The clips appear to show a flashing, circular orange light moving through the night sky. There’s also a video which supposedly shows the UFO on Earth, but which looks very suspiciously like a colander.

As reported by VICE, shortly after #MageUFO began trending on Twitter, the hashtag disappeared, leading enthusiasts to suspect foul play. Over on the r/UFOs Reddit page, posts about the Brazilian UFO also seemed to vanish.

Onlookers Say a ‘Black Ring’ UFO Darted Over the Skies for 40 Minutes

Article by Jackson Barron                           May 25, 2020                           (dailymail.co.uk)

• On May 20th, residents of Nimbin on the Gold Coast of Australia in New South Wales watched a mysterious ‘black ring’ hovering in the sky.

• Nimbin resident Kaz Woodall told the Northern Star newspaper that the UFO rose from behind the mountain ridge. Woodall says that she and her friend “were both like, ‘what the fuck is that? I’ve never seen anything like this’.”

• Woodall said the object was spinning on its axis. She approached the caretaker at a nearby showgrounds to take a look through his telescope. “We were in awe, but we weren’t scared, it was a positive uplifting experience,” said Woodall. The trio watched as the object rotated over the hills for forty minutes before it floated over and stopped directly above them in the sky. Then the object stopped rotating and disappearing over the horizon.

• Woodall said she spent hours researching UFOs after her sighting and claims she found an article of a similar incident from New York. Woodall posted pictures of the black ring on a Nimbin community Facebook page.

Stunned spectators have spotted an unidentified flying object over the skies of Nimbin.

Locals in far north New South Wales town, known for its bohemian lifestyle, reported a mysterious ‘black ring’ hovering in the sky on Wednesday afternoon.

Kaz Woodall, who was walking her dog with a friend at the time, told the Northern Star the UFO rose from behind the mountain ridge at Nimbin showgrounds.

‘We were both like, “what the f**k is that? I’ve never seen anything like this”,’ she said.

Ms Woodall said the object was spinning on its axis. She approached the caretaker at the showgrounds to take a look through his telescope.

Mouse on SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket, or Frozen Oxygen?

Article by Yash Tripathi                                June 1, 2020                        (republicworld.com)

• On May 30th, American astronauts, Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken, created history by blasting off into space via a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Millions of people from across the world were glued to the live stream of the ‘spectacular’ launch of US astronauts from American soil for the first time in nine years. It was a proud moment for Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, which is now the first private company to send a craft to space.

• While the world was watching, a mouse was seen walking on the carrier. One internet user posted a short clip showing the small animal walking around the fuselage. (see 41-second video below)

• The person posting the clip on Twitter said, “Looks like a mouse hitchhiked a ride on Elon Musk’s SpaceX rocket launch today!” “The mouse showed a truly amazing ability to withstand heat!” Many people who saw the ‘mouse’ walking on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket find it unbelievable. Some have said it is frozen oxygen dripping from an engine. Others say it is a flat-out fake. Neither NASA nor SpaceX have commented. The mouse appears to be walking around freely despite the heat and the laws of gravity.

[Editor’s Note]  If you look closely at the original footage of the image, you can see several more of these “mice” coming from the bag-like component and falling away before the mouse appears walking back and forth.

SpaceX has become the first private organisation to send a spacecraft to space. Two US astronauts, Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken, created history by blasting off into space with the NASA-SpaceX Crew Dragon launch on May 30, but they are not alone in the vast space. According to reports, a mighty mouse was seen on the Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon capsule’s fuselage. A video has surfaced on the internet and has everyone shocked.

China is Pulling Ahead in Race to Identify Extraterrestrials

Article by Dan Robitzski                          May 21, 2020                      (futurism.com)

• With China’s new Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) in place (pictured above), astronomers say the country is positioning itself as the new leader in the search for extraterrestrial life. Although the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence has traditionally been a Western SETI pursuit, researchers say that if there’s any first contact to be made, FAST will be the instrument that does so.

• Given the singular focus its government can lend to projects like FAST, it is not surprising that China would emerge as the leader of the search for extraterrestrial life, said science author Michael Michaud. “Most scientific fields had been dominated by Americans and other Westerners since the end of World War II. China is now catching up with, and in some areas surpassing, Western achievements,” Michaud told Space.com. “Already, China has the resources to become the world’s leading nation in several fields of scientific research and technology development.”

• Experts in the hunt for aliens see China’s progress as more of an opportunity for collaboration than a matter of national pride. “Anyone hoping for a redo of the 1960s ‘space race’ between the Soviet Union and the United States in today’s international SETI scene is going to be disappointed,” said Douglas Vakoch, president of the extraterrestrial research group METI International. “In SETI, international cooperation wins over competition.”

[Editor’s Note]  For the past sixty years, SETI and METI (Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence) have led the charge to intentionally never find any evidence of other extraterrestrial beings or civilizations. SETI leaders such as Seth Shostak and Doug Vakoch have dutifully served their deep state masters, telling the world that their consistent failure to find any evidence of intelligent ETs indicates that intelligent beings, besides ourselves, simply do not exist in our galaxy. It will be interesting to see how SETI will attempt to infiltrate the Chinese astronomical community, under the guise of “international cooperation”, in order to sabotage and suppress their operation to prevent the public from learning the truth – that the galaxy is teeming with intelligent beings and civilizations, and that we have all been lied to for decades.

For information about China’s true emerging role in space technology and its secret space program, check out Dr Michael Salla’s new book: Rise of the Red Dragon, Origins & Threat of China’s Secret Space Program, now on sale.

With China’s Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) in place, astronomers say the country is positioning itself as the new leader in the search for extraterrestrial life.

Traditionally, SETI research has been a largely Western pursuit, scientists told Space.com. But FAST bucks that trend — if there’s any first contact to be made with alien civilizations, researchers suspect that FAST will be the instrument that does it.

Shifting Landscape

To some, like scientific author Michael Michaud, it’s not surprising that China would emerge as the leader of the search for extraterrestrial life, given the singular focus its government can lend to projects like FAST.

Ozzy Osbourne Has an Obsession With UFOs

Article by Bang Showbiz NZ                          May 22, 2020                          (nz.news.yahoo.com)

• The 71-year-old rocker, Ozzy Osbourne, is obsessed with UFOs. He spends hours watching TV shows about aliens and is convinced that Earth has been visited by beings from another planet, according to his wife, Sharon, 67.

• Sharon told Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM radio show: “He is obsessed. He watches all those hokey shows about aliens and I am like, ‘Why are you spending three hours a day watching it?’ “And he goes, ‘Look at this, look at this… it is a spaceship’ and I’m like, ‘no it’s not’.”

• Ozzy is so serious about life on other planets that he has written a song called ‘Scary Little Green Men’, which includes the lyrics ‘Men on the moon, won’t you tell us the truth, is there anyone out there?’ (see music video below)

“He says it is a spaceship and I’m like, ‘no it’s not’.”

Earth to Face Doomsday Due to Alien Invasion if Multi-National Leadership is Absent

Article by Nirmal Narayanan                              May 22, 2020                           (ibtimes.sg)

• If the Earth is invaded by advanced, hostile extraterrestrial beings, Clifford N Lazarus believes that we Earthlings will need to come together to prevail. Lazarus, the clinical director of the Lazarus Institute, wrote in Psychology Today: “It is critically important that we find a way to create a coordinated, global response to this mortal peril because it will almost inevitably not be the final pandemic our world will face. Without rational, scientifically guided and cooperative, multinational leadership, “ET” will prevail and human civilization as we know it will be doomed.”

• Lazarus also says that an alien invasion is very similar to a pandemic outbreak, where humans should unite as a single species irrespective of various barriers. “If ever there was a time for joining forces and pulling together as a nation, a global community and a single species, this is it,” says Lazarus. “COVID-19 does not recognize national borders or social boundaries. It will infect and possibly kill anyone regardless of nationality, race, religion, gender, sex, age, education, wealth, social status, or political affiliation.”

• Investigative journalist Leslie Kean recently suggested that alien hypothesis could be the best option to explain UFO sightings. (see ExoArticle here)  “The extremely advanced technology that the objects have displayed since the 1950s… demonstrate tremendous speed and accelerations, the ability to make sharp right-angle turns, stand still in midair, zoom off and disappear in the blink of an eye, and operate underwater. They appear to defy the laws of aviation as we know it since they have no wings or visible means of propulsion.” Many believe that (some) UFO sightings are authentic proof of alien existence and their presence here on Earth to ‘monitor human activities’.

[Editor’s Note]   They’re here, and they’ve been here for a very long time – both the ‘bad’ ETs who have turned the Earth into a slave planet using mind control over our leaders and the media, and the ‘good’ ETs who watch our species from a distance, assisting us through our consciousness. This struggle has escalated since WWII when we reached a level of technological development that made us more valuable and susceptible to the ‘bad’ ETs’ agenda of domination. We have now reached the culmination of this cosmic struggle for planet Earth, where we will need to either awaken to the ET reality and take control over our own sovereign future, or accept our species’ fate as servants to an elite human class and their deep state henchmen doing the bidding of an evil extraterrestrial race.

         Clifford N Lazarus

Many space experts believe that humans are not alone in the universe, and they claim that advanced alien species might be living somewhere in the deep nooks of the universe.

If these advanced beings are now searching for life in the universe, there are possibilities that they could find earth, and we cannot rule out a possible invasion in the future.

Will Earth Face Doomsday Due to Alien Invasion?

Clifford N Lazarus, the clinical director of the Lazarus Institute believes that the earth will be doomed if hostile aliens visit earth. He also added that multi-national leadership should prevail in the world if humanity wants to fight against a common enemy.

“It is critically important that we find a way to create a coordinated, global response to this mortal peril because it will almost inevitably not be the final pandemic our world will face. Without rational, scientifically guided and cooperative, multinational leadership, “ET” will prevail and human civilization as we know it will be doomed,” wrote Lazarus in his recent article published in Psychology Today.

NASA Scientists Detect Evidence of a Parallel Universe Where Time Runs Backward

Article by Yaron Steinbuch                           May 19, 2020                              (nypost.com)

• NASA scientists use a giant balloon to carry long antenna, called the ‘Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna’ or ANITA, to measure the constant “wind” of high-energy particles coming from space. They conduct these experiments high above Antarctica, where the frigid, dry air provides the perfect environment with little to no radio noise to distort its findings.

• Low-energy, subatomic neutrinos have a mass close to zero, and can pass completely through Earth. Higher-energy objects, however, are stopped by the solid matter of our planet. But ANITA has detected these heavier, ‘high-energy’ particles coming up out of the Earth.

• Principal ANITA investigator Peter Gorham, a physicist at the University of Hawaii, is the lead author of a Cornell University paper describing the odd phenomenon. He and his fellow researchers have detected several of these “impossible events”. Gorham’s research paper offers that the only way these heavy, high-energy particles could arise from the Earth is if the rules of physics were the opposite of our own. This implies that these particles are actually traveling backward in time.

• The research paper suggests that at the moment of the ‘Big Bang’, 13.8 billion years ago, two universes were formed. This means that there is a parallel universe to our own where time is running backwards. Of course, to the inhabitants of the parallel Earth, we are the ones whose time is running backwards.

• The concept of a parallel universe has been around since the early 1960s, mostly in the minds of fans of sci-fi TV shows and comics.

[Editor’s Note]  Now the scientific community is walking back the claim of a parallel universe. In a subsequent statement, ANITA investigator Peter Gorham said, “This whole parallel universe thing was not invented by us but somehow we have gotten tagged with it. A journalist got it wrong, tied it to us and it has unfortunately snowballed. We actually had nothing to do with the development of the parallel universe idea.” The particles travelling in reverse “are more likely to be explained in terms of physics, that is likely to be much less exotic.” (see inverse.com article here)

Penn State University astrophysics professor Derek Fox says that the existence of particles coming from the Earth only shows that the 50-year old ‘Standard Model’ of particle physics needs an update. Fox says that “From my perspective as an observer, it’s a dark matter decay scenario.” The anomalous neutrinos detected may have been particles of dark matter that scientists have been looking for since the 1930’s. According to Fox, heavy dark matter particles can accumulate in the core of the Earth and when they decay, they can produce highly energetic particles that sort of erupt from the Earth, producing these up-going cosmic ray showers that were detected by ANITA.

In a scenario straight out of “The Twilight Zone,” a group of NASA scientists working on an experiment in Antarctica have detected evidence of a parallel universe — where the rules of physics are the opposite of our own, according to a report.

The concept of a parallel universe has been around since the early 1960s, mostly in the minds of fans of sci-fi TV shows and comics, but now a cosmic ray detection experiment has found particles that could be from a parallel realm that also was born in the Big Bang, the Daily Star reported.

The experts used a giant balloon to carry NASA’s Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna, or ANITA, high above Antarctica, where the frigid, dry air provided the perfect environment with little to no radio noise to distort its findings.

A constant “wind” of high-energy particles constantly arrives on Earth from outer space.

Low-energy, subatomic neutrinos with a mass close to zero can pass completely through Earth, but higher-energy objects are stopped by the solid matter of our planet, according to the report.

Space Officials Wooing Intelligence Airmen

Article by Rachel S. Cohen                           May 20, 2020                           (airforcemag.com)

• Space intelligence is one area the military wants to expand and refine for intelligence Airmen who opt to join the Space Force. Space Force intends to build its own core intel capabilities, separate from the Air Force, to better identify objects in space and whether they pose a threat to U.S. assets. Working with the National Reconnaissance Office, Space Force Intelligence will encompass space-based ‘intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance’ (ISR) of the low orbit space between the Earth and the Moon.

• Space Force is considering how Airmen could broaden their understanding of the space domain by working in multiple career fields, according to Colonel Suzy Streeter, Space Force’s ISR director. Building the new service from scratch allows intel professionals hold command positions usually taken by Airmen who operate satellites, for instance, said U.S. Space Command’s ISR boss, Brigadier General Leah Lauderback.

• Adding new perspectives to Space Force leadership depends on how Airmen plan out their career paths. One option is having Space Force recruit start as a ‘space operator’ for the first four years, move into intelligence for ten years, and then decide whether to jump back into space operations or remain in Space Force intel. “That will give… a more integrated approach,” said Streeter. Any intelligence professional coming up the ranks in Space Force could become ‘chief of space operations’ after three to five years. Or an Airman could enter Space Force as a traditional intelligence officer and remain so for the rest of their career. They could still dabble in space operations, as the Force needs “ISR visionaries”.

• It has also been suggested that the service bring in new officer level recruits from the other services and industry, starting them as captains and majors. This could prove beneficial for targeting, intel collection management, and cyber operations. Enlisted personnel could also be ‘streamlined’ into operations intelligence and cryptologic analysis fields.

• All intelligence Airmen can apply to join or transfer into Space Force, whether they worked for Air Combat Command, Air Force Space Command, or another USAF organization. “It is likely that the [selection] board will be looking for personnel with a wide range of experiences, to ensure that USSF does not pigeonhole itself into one way of thinking.” The Space Force is accepting transfer applications from intel Airmen through May 31.

• In October, ‘selection board’ panels staffed by senior Air Force and Space Force leaders will decide which intel, acquisition, and other space professionals will join the Space Force starting February 1st, 2021. This panel will also process promotions until the Space Force’s ‘Space Training and Readiness Command’ (‘STARCOM”) is up-and-running and able to tailor a new process to the specific needs of Space Force.

• New Space Force bases will open up for intelligence assignments that weren’t previously used by the Space Force’s predecessor, Air Force Space Command, including Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada; Lackland Air Force Base in Texas; Fort Meade in Maryland; Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio; and assignments at the Pentagon and in Chantilly, Virginia.

[Editor’s Note]    Space Force Intelligence, just let us know when you would like a briefing.

New opportunities will open up for intelligence Airmen who opt to join the Space Force, intel officials said in a recent livestream.

Space intelligence is one area the military wants to expand and refine as a result of creating a new armed force focused on the cosmos. The Space Force envisions building its own core intel capabilities, separate from the Air Force, to better identify what and where objects are in space and if they threaten U.S. assets. The career field will work with the National Reconnaissance Office in new ways, encompass space-based ISR of the Earth below, and is pushing into cislunar orbit as well.

    Brigadier General Leah Lauderback

In March, the Air Force listed several intelligence organizations that are newly assigned to the Space Force. Some officials have suggested that the National Air and Space Intelligence Center could ramp up its help for the Space Force or spin off a separate space-focused center as well.

The Space Force is considering how Airmen could work in multiple career fields to broaden their understanding of the space domain, according to Col. Suzy Streeter, the service’s ISR director. Building the new service from scratch allows it to shake up its leadership echelons and let intel professionals hold command positions usually taken by the Airmen who operate satellites, said Brig. Gen. Leah Lauderback, U.S. Space Command intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance boss.

Adding different perspectives to Space Force leadership depends in part on how Airmen transfer in and plan out their career paths.

One staffing option gaining traction is having every member of the Space Force start as a space operator, or 13S. Someone could serve as a space operator for the first four years, move into intelligence for 10 years, and then decide whether to jump back into space operations or remain in intel, according to the presentation’s slideshow.

“That will give, really, a more integrated approach as you’re looking at futures, including, quite frankly, the chief of space operations,” Streeter said. “Why not have that open to whoever is a space professional?”

‘Secrets From The Black Vault’ Book Review

Article by Jazz Shaw                              May 18, 2020                                 (hotair.com)

• John Greenewald Jr is the owner and proprietor of the The Black Vault website where he has collected literally millions of declassified government documents on an array of subjects for well over a decade. Greenewald has a new book entitled: Secrets from the Black Vault where he takes readers down a series of government rabbit holes, exploring a wide range of programs you might have never heard of and, frankly, that the government would probably have preferred not to tell you about.

• Greenewald also provides a fascinating and occasionally dismaying look at the process involved in obtaining all of this government information. There are some subjects where Greenewald had to wait over a decade, filing one Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request after another, before finally getting the information. Greenewald lets you peer behind the curtain and see all of the blood, sweat and tears involved in these efforts.

• So what sort of intriguing United States government secrets will John be revealing this time? For instance, did you know that the company that made your sugary breakfast cereal was possibly involved in the development of chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction? And that the same cereal company was blamed for the UFO crash at Roswell in 1947?

• Greenewald provides documented details about the CIA’s mind control program, the recruitment of Nazi scientists into the U.S. and Soviet Union after World War II, and the Pentagon’s plans to build a military base on the Moon. And of course, there’s an entire section on UFOs and what the government has been doing about them.

• Greenewald’s Secrets from the Black Vault is a quick read that might change the way you think about the American government. Or, if nothing else, you’ll become the keeper of a ton of fascinating trivia to dazzle your friends. Secrets from the Black Vault gets a hearty two thumbs up.

With many of us still on lockdown, if you’re like me you’ve been burning through your backlog of books that you always meant to get around to reading. In case you’re running short, you may want to order a copy of the latest book from John Greenewald jr. titled “Secrets from the Black Vault.”

                      John Greenewald Jr

You may remember John from an interview he did for us last year when he was talking about the Pentagon’s secret UFO program. He’s also the owner of the indispensable website The Black Vault, where John has been collecting literally millions of declassified government documents for well over a decade on a dizzying array of subjects.

In this latest offering, Greenewald takes readers down another series of government rabbit holes, exploring a wide range of programs you might have never heard of and, frankly, that the government would probably have preferred to not tell you about. But he also gives us a fascinating and occasionally dismaying look at the process involved in obtaining all of this information. There are some subjects where Greenewald had to wait literally over a decade, filing one FOIA request after another, requesting interviews and answers, before finally getting the information he was looking for. As consumers of news, many of us likely take for granted that someone will go out there, flush out the information, and deliver it in a digestible form. John Greenewald lets you peer behind the curtain and see all of the blood, sweat and tears involved in these efforts.

Mysterious Object Spotted During Spanish TV Program

Article by Nirmal Narayanan                              May 16, 2020                          (ibtimes.sg)

• Video footage from the Spanish news channel Telecinco, recorded in Rome, shows a blue UFO-like object hovering in the skies as the reporter narrates events in the country. Telecinco claims that it was a seagull. (see 48 second video below)

Scott C Waring, a self-proclaimed UFO hunter who currently operates from Taiwan, believes that aliens are visiting the Earth to monitor human efforts to contain the coronavirus. The conspiracy theorist has claimed that aliens are working together with the Pope and the Vatican to find a coronavirus cure.

UFO in Rome Sparks Debate

In his recent website post, Waring analyzed video footage from the Spanish news channel Telecinco. In the video, recorded in Rome, a blue UFO-like object can be seen hovering in the skies, as the reporter narrates events in the country.

Even though the UFO theory was dismissed by Telecinco as a seagull, Waring asserted that the mysterious flying object in the skies could most probably be an alien spaceship from deep space.

Should Our Scientists Take UFOs and Ghosts More Seriously?

Article by John Horgan                             May 18, 2020                              (scientificamerican.com)

• Leslie Kean (pictured above) is a co-author of the 2017 New York Times front-page article on Pentagon investigations of UFOs. (see ExoArticle here “Glowing Auras and ‘Black Money’: The Pentagon’s Mysterious U.F.O. Program”). She is also the author of the 2010 bestseller UFOs: Generals, Pilots, And Government Officials Go On The Record and also her 2017 book Surviving Death: A Journalist Investigates Evidence for an Afterlife. John Horgan, who has a hard time believing in ghosts and alien visitations, interviewed her to ask about UFOs and the paranormal.

• Kean tells Horgan that she wasn’t interested in UFOs and the paranormal until she reached adulthood. When she was a child, she believed in the “supernormal magic” of Santa Clause because he took a bite from the Christmas cookies she left out which proved he was real. When she learned that Santa didn’t exist, she felt betrayed by “the authorities” – her parents – for lying to her. “Something precious had been taken away”” says Kean. “Maybe at some unconscious level this led me to want to find out what’s real and to prove the so-called authorities wrong.”

• When Kean was a freelance writer in 1999, she came across a 90-page ‘COMETA Report’ by retired French generals, police, scientists and an admiral. (see COMETA reports Part 1 here and Part 2 here) The group had spent three years documenting official military and aviation UFO cases. Their conclusion was that the “extraterrestrial hypothesis” was the most valid and logical one to explain the data. Their report proposed that pilots be trained on how to respond to UFOs to avoid future mishaps or even dangerous accidents. Given the stature and credibility of the group, Kean published a lengthy article based on the COMETA Report for the Boston Globe in May, 2000.

• Whether UFOs might be piloted by aliens, “I …will not rule it out,” says Kean. “There are many possibilities on the table. I have made the point over and over that we do not know what these objects are, and that’s where things stand.” “My book concluded that (the UFO) phenomenon exists, without question. …It’s physical, and well documented, even by our government. But what these objects are is another question…. (which) has led to all kinds of speculation. These flying machines, whatever they are, might not even have any drivers at all, for all we know.”

• The best evidence we have that UFOs have an extraterrestrial origin is the “extremely advanced technology that the objects have displayed since the 1950’s. They demonstrate tremendous speed and accelerations, the ability to make sharp right-angle turns, stand still in midair, zoom off and disappear in the blink of an eye, and operate under water. They appear to defy the laws of aviation as we know it, since they have no wings or visible means of propulsion. The documentation goes back more than 60 years, when no one on this planet had technology like this.”

• Kean says she doesn’t know what to make of alien abduction experiences. “I know sane, intelligent people who report such events, and some even have physical evidence of them. Their lives have been turned upside down by these experiences. … It points to the greater complexity of this issue which goes beyond any simple hypothesis.”

• What does Kean say about journalists like Keith Kloor who accused Kean’s NYTimes article as “thinly-sourced and slanted”? “I simply don’t agree with Kloor’s statement,” says Kean. “[I was] one of three people writing the Times stories, which include scrutiny by fact-checkers and multiple editors.” “[I] will continue to cover the (UFO) topic whenever we can.”

• Astrophysicist Katie Mack, said in Scientific American, that she doesn’t take alien spaceships seriously enough to debunk them. Kean says that she understands Mack’s position, as UFOs might not be “alien spaceships” at all. “[A]ny question about alien spaceships misses the point,” says Kean. “These are unknowns, plain and simple. But they are physically real. They interact with military pilots and commercial aircraft. Therefore, they deserve investigation.”

• “During the ten years I was investigating UFOs, I had been intrigued by the question of the possible survival of consciousness when we die,” says Kean. “I had poked around into some of the research, especially the work of Ian Stevenson at the University of Virginia studying young children with verified past life memories. …This was another big mystery facing human beings: what happens when we die?” So Kean wrote the book: Surviving Death. “Most of my “paranormal” experiences occurred during the time I was involved in the (book’s) research, which began in 2012,” says Kean. “The experiences I had were beyond my imagination. They were life-changing. …So writing Surviving Death was a journey of discovery which unfolded while I was writing it.”

• In Surviving Death, Kean didn’t make any “claims about life after death” that she felt could discredit her as a writer. “I invited others to write their own chapters, and they said things that I didn’t say. My conclusion was that the evidence was suggestive (of life existing after death), but not definitive.” Kean received what appeared to be after-death communications from [her] brother, saw an apparition, and experienced genuine physical mediumship. “I think my narrative would have remained one-dimensional and abstract without this personal element. …It would have been dishonest to omit them, because they impacted my thinking and my effort to come to terms with many remarkable phenomena” while remaining analytical and discriminating with everything else. “The tricky aspect lies in the interpretation of the extraordinary events, not in their reporting.”

• “Paranormal phenomena exist,” insists Kean. “They seem to operate outside the limits of the current materialistic framework adapted by most scientists, while at the same time, nobody can explain what consciousness actually is. …I find it astonishing that there are still some scientists who adapt the position that ‘it can’t be, therefore it isn’t.’ …I have witnessed many paranormal phenomena myself, and I know they exist. Those who don’t want to believe these things will dismiss them no matter what they read.”

• “Cases of very young children who report accurate details of a past life, complete with nightmares about the previous death and knowledge from the previous career, are compelling when the memories can be verified and the previous person is identified,” says Kean. “Cases of responsive apparitions are also interesting – these “forms” demonstrate intelligence by reacting to multiple human observers, and sometimes provide information through telepathy about their lives on earth which are verified to be true.” “There is a wealth of literature on all of this,” says Kean. “[In] the words of William James: “If you wish to upset the law that all crows are black, you mustn’t seek to show that all crows are black; it is enough if you prove one single crow to be white.”

• The ‘life after death’ question centers “around the nature of human consciousness and its manifestations that appear to transcend the limitations of the brain. …Who are we really? Biological robots, or something else?” asks Kean. “I think all aspects of “superhuman” functioning – precognition, clairvoyance, telepathy, psychokinesis, and energy healing – should be taken seriously. They have been well documented. Where is the curiosity among scientists about the mysteries of the unknown?”

• Keans says that at first she was “skeptical about claims of alien visitations as being the simplistic answer to the UFO question. I was a skeptic about the afterlife when I began my work on that topic. It was my personal experiences that opened my eyes.” “Some ‘parapsychologists’ and other scientific investigators are doing brilliant work on all of this, but they are hampered by the mainstream scientific community’s irrational disrespect. Someday that dam will break.”

Like many long-time readers of The New York Times, I was shocked when the staid old paper published, in 2017, a front-page article on Pentagon investigations of unidentified flying objects, or UFOs. This article, plus a shorter sidebar and a 2019 follow-up, heartened those who believe that extraterrestrials have visited us and annoyed skeptics like my friend journalist Keith Kloor. Last December, I met journalist Leslie Kean, a co-author of the Times articles and sole author of the 2010 bestseller UFOs: Generals, Pilots, And Government Officials Go On The Record, at a week-long symposium on challenges to conventional scientific materialism, about which I wrote here. At the meeting, which took place at the Esalen Institute in California, Kean talked about the possibility of life after death, a topic she explores in her 2017 book Surviving Death: A Journalist Investigates Evidence for an Afterlife (which includes chapters from other contributors). Kean and I hit it off. I told her that, although I have a hard time believing in ghosts and alien visitations, I admire the courage and professionalism with which she investigates these topics. I also enjoy talking to smart people whose views diverge from mine, like renegade biologists Rupert Sheldrake and Stuart Kauffman. So last week, after the Times published yet another UFO story by Kean and her collaborator Ralph Blumenthal—which triggered more pushback from Kloor–I emailed Kean a few questions. – John Horgan

Horgan: When I was a kid, I was obsessed with UFOs and the paranormal. Were you like that too?

               John Horgan

Kean: No, not until I was an adult. Although I do remember having mystical feelings about Santa Claus as a young child. It happened when I saw that my cookies, carefully placed next to the Christmas tree, had been nibbled on by Santa during his visitation into my world the previous Christmas Eve. It was solid evidence that something magic, something “supernormal” had actually occurred. This fantastical being who could be everywhere at once had been in my living room and left behind a physical bite mark to prove his existence. The authorities of the day, my parents, confirmed it. I felt momentarily transported, expanded, into a new level of connection to something big and mysterious. That may sound silly, but it was true. When I found out the truth about Santa later, I felt betrayed. Something precious had been taken away. My parents weren’t trustworthy because they lied to me. Maybe at some unconscious level this led me to want to find out what’s real and to prove the so-called authorities wrong. I’m not totally serious, but I suppose it’s possible.

Horgan: When and why did you first decide to write about UFOs? Was there any particular triggering event?

Kean: My serious interest in UFOs as a journalist began in 1999 when I was working as an on-air host and producer for public radio and publishing as a freelancer. I unexpectedly received an explosive 90-page report titled UFOs and Defense: What Should We Prepare For? by retired French generals, police, scientists and an admiral. The report intended to “strip the UFO phenomenon of its irrational layer”. The group had spent three years documenting official military and aviation UFO cases. Most stunning was their conclusion: that the “extraterrestrial hypothesis” was the most valid and logical one to explain the data. Of course there was no proof, only an hypothesis. The authors were concerned about the national security implications of the phenomenon and proposed that pilots be trained on how to respond to UFOs to avoid future mishaps or even dangerous accidents. Given the stature and credibility of the group, I thought this was a huge story. I published a lengthy article based on the report, known as the COMETA Report, for the Boston Globe in May, 2000, which required overcoming the reservations of a very nervous editor. [See links to the COMETA Report here and here.] That’s what set me on this path, and there was no turning back. And two decades later, I can hardly believe how things have changed. [See this Times story by Ralph Blumenthal for more background on Kean’s UFO coverage.]

Horgan: One admirer of your book UFOs describes you as an “agnostic” on whether UFOs are actually piloted by aliens. When I met you at Esalen, you struck me as a believer, not an agnostic. Am I wrong?

Kean: Piloted by aliens? I have an open mind, but no, I don’t believe that and have never said that. But I also will not rule it out. There are many possibilities on the table. I have made the point over and over that we do not know what these objects are, and that’s where things stand. My book concluded that a phenomenon exists, without question, named “unidentified flying objects” by the US Air Force in the 1950’s. It’s physical, and well documented, even by our government. But what these objects are is another question. That’s what everyone wants to know, and that desire has led to all kinds of speculation. On that question my 2010 book was agnostic, and it was recognized as such. These flying machines, whatever they are, might not even have any drivers at all for all we know.

Horgan: What is the best single piece of evidence that UFOs have an extraterrestrial origin?

Kean: The extremely advanced technology that the objects have displayed since the 1950’s. They demonstrate tremendous speed and accelerations, the ability to make sharp right-angle turns, stand still in midair, zoom off and disappear in the blink of an eye, and operate under water. They appear to defy the laws of aviation as we know it, since they have no wings or visible means of propulsion. The documentation goes back more than 60 years, when no one on this planet had technology like this. In some cases, experts, such as officials from the French Space Agency, had enough data to rule out all conventional explanations (meaning it wasn’t something natural or man-made). These cases represent only a small fraction of those reported, but they are the ones that matter. So, what are we left with?

‘Like Fourth of July’ Space Anomaly Seen by Buzz Aldrin from Apollo 11 Exposed

• On July 20, 1969, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong became the first two men to walk on the lunar surface during NASA’s Apollo 11 mission. They and the Command Module pilot, Michael Collins, returned home to a hero’s welcome. But during the debrief, Buzz Aldrin spoke about ‘flashes of lights’ in the spacecraft’s cabin.

• During the Apollo 12 mission four months later, Alan Bean had a strange encounter while he was on the surface of the Moon. Said Bean, “I was on the backside of the Moon and looking down at a crater and I saw a flash… I thought ‘did I really see a flash?’ because there’s nothing going on down there.”

• Strange lights became a regular entry in Apollo mission logs. They appear more often on the way to the Moon rather than on the way back. Former NASA astronaut Dr Story Musgrave stated, “It’s like Fourth of July, the streak – they’re fireworks.” These strange occurrences went unsolved for years.

The Science Channel’s show: “NASA’s Unexplained Files”, says that NASA scientists solved the anomaly by having astronauts wear night vision goggles. The flashes still occurred exactly as the astronauts describe them. “NASA’s official explanation (was) that the lights are ‘cosmic rays’ – high energy particles ripping through space near the speed of light, bombarding the astronauts and their craft.”

Michael Collins – who orbited in the Command Module alone for 21 hours – the trio would mark a monumental moment in history by fulfilling John F. Kennedy’s goal of putting a man on the Moon by the end of the Sixties. But there was an event during that mission – and several more in the years that followed – that did not make the front-pages, and it involves a bizarre space anomaly spotted, the Science Channel’s ‘NASA’s Unexplained Files’ revealed.

NASA Sets Out Its Red Lines for 2024 Moon Landing

Article by John Varge                                May 16, 2020                             (express.co.uk)

• The ‘Artemis Program’ is NASA’s project – supported by other international space programs and private companies – to establish a permanent human settlement on the Moon by 2028, beginning by landing two astronauts near the lunar south pole in 2024. On May 15th, NASA officials revealed the core values underpinning its mission in a document called the Artemis Accords (see here). NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine tweeted: “Today I’m honored to announce the #Artemis Accords agreements — establishing a shared vision and set of principles for all international partners that join in humanity’s return to the Moon. We go, together.”

• NASA said its over-riding vision was to “create a safe and transparent environment which facilitates exploration, science and commercial activities for all of humanity to enjoy.” This vision is in accordance with the “peaceful purposes only” principles enshrined in the Outer Space Treaty of 1967, the founding document of international space law, which has been ratified by more than 100 countries, including the US.

• The Accords seek to ensure no “harmful interference” by one nation in the off-Earth affairs of another, and to publicly disclose their exploration plans and policies as well as sharing their scientific data. Artemis partners pledge to protect historic sites and artefacts on the Moon and other cosmic locales, as well as to help minimize space-junk.

• Private Moon landers will begin to ferry NASA science and technology experiments to the lunar surface next year. The Accords also cover the space mining of resources on the Moon, Mars and asteroids conducted under the auspices of the Outer Space Treaty. Moon landers will be built by commercial companies such as Elon Musk’s SpaceX. SpaceX is currently developing its huge ‘Starship’ vehicle to help colonize Mars. Starship will launch atop a huge rocket called ‘Super Heavy’, but will land on, and launch off of, the Moon and Mars on its own. Other companies awarded contracts, worth a total of $967 million for 10 months of work, are Blue Origin and Dynetics.

• NASA’s Jim Bridenstine said, “This is the first time since the Apollo era that NASA has direct funding for a human landing system, and now we have companies on contract to do the work for the Artemis program.” “America is moving forward with the final step needed to land astronauts on the Moon by 2024,” including the first woman set foot on the lunar surface.

The US Space Agency has always recognised that international cooperation will be vital if its Artemis programme is to succeed. Artemis is the ambitious project to land two astronauts near the lunar south pole in 2024, as a precursor to establishing a permanent human lunar settlement by 2028. On Friday, NASA officials revealed the core values underpinning its mission in a document called the Artemis Accords, which stress the peaceful nature of its exploration.

In a tweet, NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine wrote: “It’s a new dawn for space exploration!

“Today I’m honored to announce the #Artemis Accords agreements — establishing a shared vision and set of principles for all international partners that join in humanity’s return to the Moon.

“We go, together.”

In accordance with principles enshrined in the Outer Space Treaty of 1967, NASA said its over-riding vision was to “create a safe and transparent environment which facilitates exploration, science and commercial activities for all of humanity to enjoy.”

The outer Space Treaty (OST) is the founding document of international space law.

It has been ratified by more than 100 countries, including the United States and other leading space powers.

The OTS stipulates that space exploration should be carried out for peaceful purposes only.

Artemis partners will also be required to be completely transparent about their activities, which means publicly disclosing their exploration plans and policies as well as sharing their scientific data.

The Accords also cover space mining, which NASA sees as key to humanity’s exploration efforts over the long haul.

NASA officials said the ability to extract and use resources on the moon, Mars and even asteroids would be critical “to support safe and sustainable space exploration and development”.

Project Blue Book Looks for New Home After Cancellation

Article by Dan Selcke                              May 14, 2020                               (winteriscoming.net)

History (Channel) has announced that it will not be renewing the popular UFO series, Project Blue Book after two highly successful seasons. Project Blue Book is a drama based upon the US government’s real-life investigation into UFOs in the 1950s and 60s. The ratings for the show averaged 2.5 million per week, which is very good for a cable television drama.

Project Blue Book follows Dr. J. Allen Hynek, a real-life scientist who began work on the project as a UFO skeptic but then became a believer. Hynek is played by Game of Thrones veteran Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger). Hynek is paired with Captain Michael Quinn (Michael Malarkey), an amalgamation of several military figures from the story. The second season ended with Quinn missing, presumably at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

• It seems that History wants to replace its scripted series, such as Project Blue Book, Knightfall (about the medieval Crusades), and Vikings, with several mini-series about US Presidents. The popular Vikings series is moving to Netflix. The creators of Project Blue Book have already outlined new shows for seasons 3 and 4, and are shopping the show to other outlets as well. “We feel it’s unfinished,” said Executive Producer David O’Leary. “[E]verybody involved remains committed to trying to find our show a second home, and to continue,”

Project Blue Book’s fan feel it’s unfinished as well. There’s a Change.org petition to save the show, and the creators are encouraging people to use the #SAVEBLUEBOOK hashtag on Twitter and Instagram to let networks know that there is interest. “[W]e want to thank the fans and say how grateful we are,” said showrunner Sean Jablonski. “Honestly, the greatest joy of the whole thing was just watching fans have these great [online] reactions to what we were hoping would be big, dramatic moments, whether it’s the Susie (Ksenia Solo) reveal, or somebody getting killed, or major plot turns that we were always trying to build.”

• Jablonski said that the show’s “characters are so great’; they’ve already laid out ten new episodes, and have the third season all planned out. So even if the show can’t find a new home on television, they will pursue a book, graphic novel, or even a mobile video platform such as Quibi. “[I]’d just be such a shame for our fans to not know where it’s going and where we can continue it to go because we’ve already done all that heavy lifting,” says O’Leary.

• “Obviously, we’re gonna bring Quinn back in early on,” Jablonski revealed. “He’s an integral part of the show.” The great thing about this show is that the subject matter and what it tackles is bigger than just writing a television script. We have the opportunity to tell great stories based on real-life stuff, and it’s still provocative today – 70 years later.

          David O’Leary

Last week, History announced that it wouldn’t be renewing any of its ongoing scripted series for new seasons, namely Knightfall — a medieval drama about the Crusades — and Project Blue Book, about the U.S. government’s real-life investigation into UFOs in the 1950s and 60s. The cancellation of Project Blue Book hit especially hard, because was actually doing pretty good in the ratings, averaging 1.3 million viewers a day after each new episode aired and 2.49 million a week after. Among cable dramas, that’s pretty respectable, and I imagine a show like Project Blue Book was less expensive to produce than something like Knightfall, at least.

So why the cancellation? Well, History seems to be pivoting towards more miniseries — it has at least three

             Sean Jablonski

miniseries about American presidents on the way — and is just doing away with all of its scripted shows; the popular Vikings ends this year, too, with the follow-up show going to Netflix. The good news is that the success of Project Blue Book gives the creators some leverage when shopping it around to other outlets. “We’re fortunate in that everybody involved remains committed to trying to find our show a second home, and to continue,” executive producer executive producer David O’Leary told SyFy Wire. “We feel it’s unfinished. And I’m sure our fans feel it’s unfinished.”

Indeed, the fans have been making their voices heard. There’s a Change.org petition to save the show up and running, and the creators are encouraging people to use the #SAVEBLUEBOOK hashtag on Twitter and Instagram to let networks know that there’s interest. “First and foremost, I think we want to thank the fans and say how grateful we are,” said showrunner Sean Jablonski. “Honestly, the greatest joy of the whole thing was just watching fans have these great [online] reactions to what we were hoping would be big, dramatic moments, whether it’s the Susie (Ksenia Solo) reveal, or somebody getting killed, or major plot turns that we were always trying to build.”

Coronavirus Not Slowing Russian or Chinese Space Activities, US General Says

Article by Marcus Weisgerber                             May 12, 2020                          (defenseone.com)

• In an April 15th statement (see here), the US Space Command stated that “satellites, which behaved similar to previous Russian satellites… exhibited characteristics of a space weapon” and that its maneuvers “would be interpreted as irresponsible and potentially threatening.”

• At an event on May 12th, Space Force Vice Commander Lt. Gen. David Thompson (pictured above) said that amid the coronavirus pandemic, “…the Russians’… penchant for unsafe and what I would consider unacceptable behavior in space has not slowed down.” Russia and China continue to launch military rockets and test space weapons, the Vice Commander warned. The US government has postponed several satellite launches due to the pandemic.

• Last month, Russia tested a satellite-killing missile capable of destroying low Earth orbit satellites. US Space Command also criticized Russia for operating two satellites close to American satellites. Earlier this week, a Russian rocket carrying a telescope disintegrated after launch, leaving behind a debris field that threatens satellites orbiting Earth. (see article here) Meanwhile in April, a Chinese rocket carrying an Indonesian satellite failed to reach orbit. (see article here)

Russia and China continue to launch military rockets and test space weapons amid the coronavirus pandemic, a top U.S. general said Tuesday.
“Unfortunately in the case of the Russians, their increasing penchant for unsafe and what I would consider unacceptable behavior in space has not slowed down,” Lt. Gen. David Thompson, the U.S. Space Force vice commander, said at a Mitchell Institute event. “I can’t tell you what they’re doing with their crews and their individuals, but based on their macro-level activities, their cadence has certainly not slowed down.”

Russia tested a satellite-killing missile last month, drawing scorn from U.S. military leaders who said the “missile system is capable of destroying satellites in low Earth orbit.” U.S. Space Command also criticized Russia for operating two satellites close to American satellites.

“These satellites, which behaved similar to previous Russian satellites that exhibited characteristics of a space weapon, conducted maneuvers near a U.S. government satellite that would be interpreted as irresponsible and potentially threatening in any other domain,” Space Command said in an April 15 statement.

This UFO Hunter Was Right All Along

Article by Max Ufberg                                May 12, 2020                              (gen.medium.com)

• A decade ago, Luis Elizondo headed the Pentagon’s UFO research program, the ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’. In 2017, Elizondo left the government to work with other former government scientists and intelligence operative, and rock star Tom DeLonge, to form ‘To the Stars Academy’ (TTSA). ‘To the Stars’ was instrumental in the New York Times’ release of three UFO videos taken by Navy pilots, videos which the Department of Defense has fully acknowledged. So if we find out one day that aliens really do exist, we’ll have Luis Elizondo to thank.

• The ‘medium’ publication website, ‘GEN’, recently interviewed Elizondo about these Navy UFO videos. Elizondo says that he was “encouraged by the Pentagon’s forthcomingness and honesty”. “I remain optimistic the Pentagon will continue this trend of transparency.” This topic, however, “requires a conversation not just inside the government, but outside as well.”

• The UFO topic is fraught with stigma and taboo. The government’s release of the Navy’s UFO videos helped to establish the legitimacy of TTSA’s mission. “It’s a huge win for the American people that we can now have a conversation about UAPs without thinking about Elvis on the mothership or little green men,” says Elizondo.

• “Whether or not these videos are real is no longer up for speculation. They are real,” says Elizondo. Congress has been briefed on the video footage, and the President has acknowledged it. “For many years this topic was relegated to the fringe. Now this is a discussion we can have around the dinner table — and maybe even in the hallways of Congress.”

• Regarding those who say that the videos simply reveal atmospheric anomalies, reflections, or bugs in the system, “this doesn’t explain eyewitnesses seeing it with the naked eye. It also doesn’t explain the radar return.” Says Elizondo, “That doesn’t make sense.”

• Elizondo discussed the launch of the new TTSA mobile apps ‘SCOUT’ and ‘VAULT’, which uses “some of the most sophisticated A.I. technology we have right now.” If someone sees an anomaly in the sky, they can use the SCOUT app to immediately identify and filter out things such as a plane, a star, a planet, a meteorological effect, a weather balloon, or a rocket reentering the atmosphere. If the object remains ‘unidentified’ then it is “crunched and housed and stored” in the VAULT app, and “[a]nybody out there with a smartphone can quickly be alerted if there’s something in their sky.” With a smartphone, anyone can “triangulate and record audio and video” of the UFO. “I think we’re going to be really surprised by what we can collectively capture,” says Elizondo.

• With regard to the US government ‘covering up’ the UFO phenomenon, “… it is the job of the government to always have answers, especially from a national security perspective,” says Elizondo. “If there is a country out there with a technological capability that surpasses our own, then it is the job of our intelligence community to figure it out and warn certain individuals in our government… (But the government doesn’t) necessarily want to broadcast that something has this capability.”

• The TTSA often pushes the Pentagon to release documents and footage pertaining to UFOs. Might the TTSA’s new collaboration with the US Army Futures Command effect this whistleblower relationship? Elizondo points out that “we’re all ex-government or military intelligence officials… The fact we are working with the United States Army and other sections within the U.S. government isn’t a bad thing.”

• But as far as the government hiding information on UFOs, Elizondo says, “I (wouldn’t) want to be the last guy standing in the Pentagon saying, ‘This stuff isn’t real, nothing to see here folks’.”

          Luis Elizondo

If we find out one day that aliens really do exist, there’s a good chance we’ll have Luis Elizondo to thank. Elizondo works as the director of government programs with To The Stars Academy (TTSA), an aerospace and science company founded in 2017 by a physicist for the Department of Defense, a former CIA operations officer, and Blink-182 guitarist Tom DeLonge.

TTSA specializes in research around unidentified aerial phenomena — military-speak for any extraterrestrial presence in the atmosphere. Before joining TTSA, Elizondo headed the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program at the Pentagon, an initiative secured and promoted in 2009 by Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada for the study of “anomalous” aircraft.

Soon after joining TTSA, Elizondo helped facilitate the release of three videos taken by Navy pilots of unidentified objects. Those videos quickly caught the public’s attention, thanks in part to credulous write-ups in the New York Times. Just last month, the Defense Department officially released the videos and finally acknowledged the presence of these unidentified aerial phenomena.

GEN: What was your reaction to the Pentagon’s acknowledgment of unidentified aerial phenomena in the video?

Luis Elizondo: I was encouraged by the Pentagon’s forthcomingness and honesty. This is something I have been engaged with for the last two and a half years after I left the Pentagon because I think this topic requires a conversation not just inside the government, but outside as well. I remain optimistic the Pentagon will continue this trend of transparency. Acknowledging there’s an issue is always the first step in remedying it.

The Unbelievable Story of the Secret Society Set Up by a London Cab Driver After Extraterrestrial Experience

Article by Ellie McKinnell                               May 13, 2020                             (mylondon.news)

• In the early 1950s, taxi driver George King would sit in his cab at Caxton Hall in the Westminster section of London and psychically channel and record messages from ‘Cosmic Masters’. After practicing yoga extensively, King developed psychic powers of his own. In 1954, a voice told him he was to be the Earthly representative of an inter-planetary parliament.

• A week after this experience, a world famous yoga master passed through a locked door into King’s West London apartment and instructed him to form a group dedicated to helping the planet. The swami went on to teach him yoga, prayer, and meditation which enabled him to receive telepathic messages from ‘Aetherius’ beings on Venus. Based on his experiences and these messages, King founded The Aetherius Society. Today, Aetherius Society members number in the thousands with 58 churches worldwide. The majority of those churches are in the UK, with the headquarters in Fulham, in Southwest London.

• The Aetherius Society believes Jesus was an extraterrestrial being from the planet Venus, and that all of the various religious leaders have come to Earth from different planets to teach mankind the proper way of living. These extraterrestrial religious leaders operate on a different “frequency of vibration” from humans on Earth, which is why we are unable to see them or their civilizations on other planets, and why reports of UFO sightings often include details of the spacecraft blinking in and out of view.

• The society predicts the coming of the next ‘Master’ from space once Earth humans have spiritually advanced themselves and balanced their collective karma. A key teaching is that humanity has an immensely promising future if they choose the ‘right’ way of living. This Master will arrive in a spacecraft with great power, and present his credentials to the leaders of Earth. Those who continue to engage in war will be removed from the Earth, to be reborn on another planet where they will continue their spiritual progress; while those who understand the spiritual law will remain on Earth to enjoy the new millennium.

business.

However, Caxton Hall is actually the place where a London taxi driver sat and channelled Cosmic Masters, recording their messages. Based on his experiences and these messages, he founded The Aetherius Society.

George King, after practising yoga so much he developed psychic powers, claimed that in 1954 a voice told him he was to be the earthly representative of an inter-planetary parliament.

A week after this experience a supposedly world famous yoga master managed to get in to George’s Maida Vale apartment, passing through the locked door, and instructed him to form a group dedicated to helping the planet.

The swami went on to teach him yoga, prayer, and meditation, training which enabled him to receive telepathic messages from Venus, the first coming from Aetherius.

The Aetherius Society believes Jesus was an extraterrestrial being from the planet Venus, and more generally that all the various religious leaders each come from a different planet and have come to earth to teach mankind the right way of living.

China’s New Crew Capsule Just Landed, Along With Parts of Their New Rocket

Article by Matt Williams                             May 15, 2020                             (universetoday.com)

• Two milestones have brought China closer to becoming a full-fledged superpower in space. One was the successful return on May 8th of a next-generation crewed spacecraft that launched into low earth orbit on May 5th and spent 67 hours in space. The other was the launch of China’s new Long March 5B (CZ-5B) heavy-lift rocket carrying a target payload for the first time. The heavy-lift rocket took the new spacecraft into orbit, although the spacecraft was unmanned for this test mission.

• The purpose of the spacecraft mission was to test its deep space capabilities since it will be carrying Chinese astronauts, or “taikonauts”, to the Moon and beyond in the coming years. The spacecraft reached a maximum distance of 4,970 miles from earth. The spacecraft deployed its three parachutes to slow down during its descent back to earth and airbags were deployed to cushion the landing. The previous Shenzhou spacecraft relied on only one parachute and had no airbags. Once it returns to Earth, crews will refurbish the new spacecraft by replacing the ‘foldable’ heat shield and removing any additional scoring from the hull.

• The purpose of the heavy-lift rocket mission was to test its payload ability, as it will be used to bring materiel to build a space station orbiting the Moon. The Chinese wanted to make sure that the heavy-lift rocket could handle a 22 US ton payload because they intend to eventually carry into orbit the components needed to construct the Tiangong-3 Modular Space Station. The uncrewed spacecraft and 22,000 lbs of fuel propellant brought its launch mass to 23.8 US tons.

• The rocket and spacecraft were launched from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center – located on Hainan Island in the South China Sea. Upon reaching orbit, the booster and spacecraft separated. The spacecraft brought along a composite materials 3D printing system, a time-triggered Ethernet system, and a range of seeds intended to test the effects of microgravity and radiation from the Van Allen belts on the growth of plants, which is essential to any plan to build space stations and habitats in orbit. On its return, the spacecraft touched down at the Dongfeng landing area in China’s northeastern Jilin province.

• On May 11th, a spent rocket stage of the Long March 5B re-entered Earth’s atmosphere over the Atlantic Ocean. The booster landed safely in the ocean off the west coast of Africa. Some pieces of the rocket landed on an African village, however. If it had re-entered earth’s atmosphere fifteen minutes earlier, the debris would have landed on New York City. No injuries were reported.

• This latest mission has sent a clear message to the global astronomical community that China will be expanding its presence in ‘low earth orbit’ in the coming years. In this decade, China will have the capability to send taikonauts to the Moon, followed by the creation of a permanent lunar base in the next decade, and maybe crewed missions to Mars.

China’s next-generation crewed spacecraft, which will replace the venerable Shenzou spacecraft in the coming years, recently returned to Earth after spending almost three days in space. The purpose of this mission was to test the deep space capabilities of the spacecraft that will be sending Chinese astronauts (taikonauts) to orbit, to the Moon, and beyond in the coming years.

                  Chinese ‘taikonauts’

In addition, this mission also saw China’s new Long March 5B (CZ-5B) heavy-lift rocket launch a payload to space for the first time. This rocket is the latest installment in the Long March family and will be vital to the creation of the third and largest Chinese space station. These two milestones have brought China a step closer to becoming a full-fledged superpower in space.

The uncrewed spacecraft and Long March 5B launched on their maiden voyage together in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 5th, from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center – located on Hainan Island in the South China Sea. Once they reached orbit, the booster and spacecraft separated, and the second part of the mission commenced (i.e. the validation of the crewed spacecraft prototype).

Over the course of the next 67 hours, the spacecraft performed seven orbit-raising maneuvers and reached a maximum distance (apogee) of around 8,000 km (4,970 mi) from Earth’s surface. This is similar to what was done during Exploration Flight Test 1 (EFT-1) with the Orion spacecraft back in 2014 – though that mission lasted only 4 hours and completed 2 orbits.

By Friday, May 8th, at 01:21 AM EST (10:21 PM, May 7th, PST) the spacecraft completed its deorbit burn, which was followed by the separation of the service and crew modules about twelve minutes later. The new spacecraft deployed its three parachutes to slow down during descent and airbags were deployed from the underside to cushion the landing.

Former Senator Harry Reid Believes in Aliens, Urges Politicians to Not Be Afraid

Article by Jason Koebler                               May 7, 2020                              (vice.com)

• Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has done more than any other lawmaker to support the search for UFOs. “The sad part about it is no one else has done anything,” Reid told Motherboard. “[S]o saying I’ve done more than anybody else is no big deal. There’s no one doing anything, and that’s too bad.”

• Reid was the architect of two Pentagon programs designed to look for and study UFOs and advanced propulsion technologies – called the ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat and Identification Program’ (“AATIP”) and the ‘Advanced Aerospace Weapons Systems Applications Program’. Between 2007 and 2012, the DoD programs received $22 million in Congressional “black budget” funding and were run through a partner company, ‘Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies’.

• Since the Pentagon programs became public in 2017 with a New York Times investigation, Reid has given several interviews saying he wants to focus on “science,” not “little green men.” But Reid told Motherboard that he does believe in extraterrestrial life. “The world as we know it today is extremely large,” Reid said. “I think that we as human beings have to be a little short sighted if we think we’re the only species in the entire universe. In the entire universe there is for sure more than one [intelligent species].”

• Reid also said he believes it is impossible to separate studying UFOs from searching for aliens. “We learned with the work that we did that the sightings of aerial phenomenon has not been seen by a couple dozen people, not a couple hundred people. Thousands of people. Thousands of people.

• “We know that unusual things have happened over decades on a regular basis,” said Reid. [W]e know that in the Dakotas, a missile launching facility had been shut down because of something [hovering] over one of them [and] basically shutting off the power to them. We know the accounts off the coast of San Diego where ships have found these unusual things in the water and it shut down the communications on the ships.”

• Reid continued, “I repeat, now for the second or third time, that people should not be afraid. I think that too many of my legislative friends are afraid to go into this because someone will think that they’re some kind of a nutcase. But I went into it, and I don’t think it hurt me politically.”

• Recently the DoD said that the program had nothing to do with UFOs. Reid has said from the earliest days, this was a UFO program and was always designed to be a UFO program. Reid tweeted that the Pentagon’s release of the three Navy UFO/UAP videos “only scratches the surface of research and materials available.”

• Much of the UFO research was carried out by Bigelow on the infamous Skinwalker Ranch, a paranormal hotspot in Utah. Reid said he has never visited Skinwalker Ranch but that he followed the program while he was a Senator. “I …followed it very closely and talked to people that worked [at Skinwalker Ranch], but …because I was a …member of the Senate… I didn’t feel that it was appropriate for the government to [cover the travel cost]. [S]o I thought well, I’ll just listen to others. But you know there are all kinds of interesting reports about …weird stuff going on up there.”

• Reid says that the Pentagon or NSA should be [investigating UFOs] because he wasn’t sure whether a civilian agency such as NASA could do it. But he does believe to this day that studying UFOs is important government work that should continue to be funded. “Even some of my staff told me to stay away from all this. But… it was something I was interested in, …something that government should be involved in. [O]ther countries are doing it.”

Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has done more than any other lawmaker to support the search for UFOs, which he says doesn’t mean a whole lot.

“The sad part about it is no one else has done anything, so saying I’ve done more than anybody else is no big deal,” Reid told Motherboard on the CYBER podcast. “There’s no one doing anything and that’s too bad.”

Reid was the architect of two Pentagon programs designed to look for and study UFOs, unidentified aerial phenomena, and advanced propulsion technologies. These two programs, called the Advanced Aerospace Threat and Identification Program and the Advanced Aerospace Weapons Systems Applications Program, had $22 million in funding between 2007 and 2012 through a Congressional “black budget,” and were run through a company called Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies, which worked on it along with the Pentagon.

Since the programs became public in 2017 thanks to a New York Times investigation and the man who ran the program, Luis Elizondo, Reid has given a few interviews where he’s said he wants to focus on “science,” not “little green men.” But Reid, in an interview with Motherboard this week, said that he does believe in extraterrestrial life.

“I look at it this way,” Reid said. “The world as we know it today is extremely large. It’s so big I can’t comprehend it. And I think that we as human beings have to be a little short sighted if we think we’re the only species in the entire universe. In the entire universe there is for sure more than one [species].”

Though that statement should not be terribly controversial and reflects a viewpoint held by many scientists, it’s not one that has been taken by many politicians, and certainly not by someone who had as much power as Reid did. Reid also said he believes it is impossible to separate studying UFOs from searching for aliens.

Navy Laser Creates Plasma ‘UFOs’

Article by David Hambling                          May 11, 2020                        (forbes.com)

• In the 1990s, ‘Laser-Induced Plasma Filaments’ (LIPF) were first developed using intense, short, self-focusing laser pulse to create a glowing filament or channel of plasma, which can be projected a distance of hundreds of meters. This technology underlies the Navy project, which uses LIPFs to create phantom images with infrared emissions to fool heat-seeking missiles.

• The effect is described in a 2018 US Navy patent (see here) “wherein a laser source is mounted on the back of the air vehicle, and wherein the laser source is configured to create a laser-induced plasma, and wherein the laser-induced plasma acts as a decoy for an incoming threat to the air vehicle.” The patent explains that the laser creates a series of mid-air plasma columns, which form a 2D or 3D image by a process of “raster scanning”, similar to how the old-style cathode ray TV sets displayed a picture.

• The LIPF decoy can be created instantly at any desired distance from the aircraft, and can be moved around at will, providing protection for as long as needed. According to the patent: “There can be multiple laser systems mounted on the back of the air vehicle with each laser system generating a ‘ghost image’ such that there would appear to be multiple air vehicles present.”

• “The potential applications of this LIP flare/decoy can be expanded, such as using a helicopter deploying flares to protect a battleship, or using this method to cover and protect a whole battle-group of ships, a military base or an entire city,” according to the patent. The patent’s lead researcher, Alexandru Hening, wrote in the Navy’s IT Magazine that he has been working on laser-induced plasma at Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific since 2012.

• In the early 1990s, in response to the American ‘Star Wars’ initiative, the Russians claimed that they could produce glowing ‘plasmoids’ at high altitude using high-power microwave or laser beams to disrupt the flight of ballistic missiles. While nothing came of the project, Russia may have refined the technology over the decades.

• In 2011, a Japanese company demonstrated a rudimentary system that created moving 3D images in mid-air with a series of rapidly-generated plasma dots. (see video below).

• Until now, jet aircraft had to eject ‘decoy flares’ to lure a heat-seeking missile away from targeted craft for only a few seconds. The Laser Induced Plasma Effects ionize an intense laser pulse to produce a burst of glowing plasma. These plasma bursts act as ‘flash-bang’ stun grenades to disrupt a heat-seeking missiles. A rapid series of such pluses can even be modulated to transmit a spoken message. (see video below) Because LIPFs conduct electricity, they have been investigated as a means of triggering lightning to create a ‘lightning gun’.

• Technology will no doubt evolve to allow heat-seeking missiles to distinguish the plasma ghosts from real jets, leading to further refinement of the decoy technology, and so on. Still, this laser-plasma research offers a game-changing method of providing aircraft and even larger targets protection from heat-seeking missiles. It may also provide a clue about the source of some recent UFO sightings by military aircraft.

[Editor’s Note]   These laser-induced plasma filament decoy shield can be expanded to protect a battleship, battle group, military base or entire city, according to its patent. I am reminded of the Tesla Shield patents that Dr Michael Salla wrote about in August 2019: “US Navy Regards Electromagnetic Propulsion & Tesla Shield Patents as Operable”, and “Are US Aircraft Carriers secretly protected by Electromagnetic “Tesla” Shields?”

I reached out to Dr Salla to see what he thought about the LIPF decoy shield. “This is a very interesting defense concept,” said Dr Salla. “Extension of current defense technology to throw off heat seeking missiles. Very different concept to the High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator I discussed in the aircraft carrier refit article which effectively creates a Tesla shield. Possible that this is one of the new defense technologies used for the classified upgrades happening at naval dockyards. Don’t believe it’s related to the UFO videos released by the Navy.”

The U.S. Navy has patented technology to create mid-air images to fool infrared and other sensors. This builds on many years of laser-plasma research and offers a game-changing method of protecting aircraft from heat-seeking missiles. It may also provide a clue about the source of some recent UFO sightings by military aircraft.

The U.S. developed the first Sidewinder heat-seeking missile back in the 1950’s, and the latest AIM-9X version is still in frontline service around the world. This type of sensor works so well because hot jet engines exhausts shine out like beacons in the infrared, making them easy targets. Pilots under attack can eject decoy flares to lure a missile away from the launch aircraft, but these only provide a few seconds protection. More recently laser infrared countermeasures have been fielded which dazzle the infrared seeker.

A sufficiently intense laser pulse can ionize producing a burst of glowing plasma. The Laser Induced Plasma Effects program uses single plasma bursts as flash-bang stun grenades; a rapid series of such pluses can even be modulated to transmit a spoken message (video here). In 2011 Japanese company Burton Inc demonstrated a rudimentary system that created moving 3D images in mid-air with a series of rapidly-generated plasma dots (video here).

A more sophisticated approach uses an intense, ultra-short, self-focusing laser pulse to create a glowing filament or channel of plasma, an effect discovered in the 1990s. Known as laser-induced plasma filaments (LIPF) these can be created at some distance from the laser for tens or hundreds of meters. Because LIPFs conduct electricity, they have been investigated as a means of triggering lightning or creating a lightning gun.

One of the interesting things about LIPFs is that with suitable tuning they can emit light of any wavelength: visible, infrared, ultraviolet or even terahertz waves. This technology underlies the Navy project, which uses LIPFs to create phantom images with infrared emissions to fool heat-seeking missiles.
