Abrams (director of Star Wars and Star Trek movies among many others) and Mark Monroe have produced a UFO documentary series that promises to dig into the reality behind the extraterrestrial phenomena while peeling back layers of government interference. Originally named “UFO”, the series will air on Showtime beginning August 8th and continues each Sunday. (see 2:15 minute trailer below)

The new trailer for chief maker J.J. Abrams’ documentary series, UFO, shows up online. The series is coordinated by Mark Monroe, who recently filled in as the author for Netflix’s 2017 documentary, Icarus. UFO hopes to dig into reality behind extraterrestrial phenomena while peeling back layers of government interference. Starting August eighth at 9 pm, UFO will be delivered each Sunday over time on Showtime.

In the trailer shared by Showtime on their YouTube page, genuine film of UFO sightings from around the world is joined by portrayal from interviewees who have had encounters. Past exploring UFOs, the trailer features the enthusiastic side felt by the individuals who share their accounts, as they feel no one at any point trusts them. Highlighted by an intense score, the trailer shows the declassified film delivered by the United States government a couple of years prior, and it guarantees an exciting plunge into the unknown.
