More evidence of life on Mars?
More evidence of life on Mars has become available through Google Mars according to an amateur astronomer. David Martines claims that Google Mars reveals an unambiguous image of a 750 foot structure on the Martian surface that is cylindrical in shape and appears to be a space base of some kind. Martines posted a clip of the structure as seen through Google Mars in a YouTube video. Google Mars provides a user interactive map of the Martian surface made up by visual and infrared images provided by two NASA Mars missions, Mars Global Surveyor and 2001 Mars Odyssey.
In his video, Martines claims he found the ’space station’ at coordinates 71 49’19.73â€N 29 33’06.53â€W which anyone can look up and check for themselves. He explains:
This is a video of something I discovered on Google Mars quite by accident. I call it Bio-station Alpha, because I’m just assuming that something lives in it or has lived in it. It’s very unusual in that it’s quite large, it’s over 700 feet long and 150 feet wide, it looks like it’s a cylinder or made up of cylinders. It could be a power station or it could be a biological containment or it could be a glorified garage – hope it’s not a weapon. Whoever put it up there had a purpose I’m sure. I couldn’t imagine what the purpose was. I couldn’t imagine why anybody would want to live on Mars. It could be a way station for weary space travelers. It could also belong to NASA, I don’t know that they would admit that. I don’t know if they could pull off such a project without all the people seeing all the material going up there. I sort of doubt NASA has anything to do with this. I don’t know if NASA even knows about this.
According to Alfred McEwen, a Planetary Geologist with the University of Arizona, the image Martines discovered is simply a glitch in the Google Mars imagery process: “with space images that are taken outside our magnetosphere, such as those taken by orbiting telescopes, it’s very common to see these cosmic ray hits.”
Martines disagrees with McEwen’s comment: “He says that it’s a glitch caused by the reflection of the sun, but even he doesn’t know what camera took the picture and even he doesn’t know where the raw data exists.”
Martines has written to NASA about his discovery and is yet to hear back. Martines may have to wait a long time. NASA has a reputation for dismissing evidence of life on Mars. When the 1976 Viking found evidence of organic life in two independent Robotic Lander experiments, NASA dismissed the evidence as an anomaly. When the same Viking mission showed images of what appeared to be a gigantic face on Mars, NASA dismissed the idea of ancient intelligent life on Mars. Richard Hoagland has written two books (Monuments on Mars and Dark Mission) blowing the lid off what he claims is an official NASA policy of dismissing and covering up evidence of Martian life.
In the subsequent thirty years of exploration of Mars with multiple NASA and European missions there have been many other “anomalies†found. One of the more recent has been what appears to be a cylindrical tube coming out of a nearby domed structure, that is ejecting a stream of liquid discharge on to the Martian surface. According to Dr Courtney Brown, a team of remote viewers agreed that the tube and dome were artificial in nature, and that the domed structure was inhabited. Martines might like to contact Dr Brown or another remote viewing team to view the image he discovered for a second opinion. Martines discovery may be just a Mars Google image glitch, or it could be yet more evidence that intelligent life does exist on Mars.
