New Civilian Photos of Britain’s Rendlesham Forest UFO Incident Show a Flying Orb

Article by Emma Parry                                               May 5, 2021                                               (thesun.co.uk)

• By now, almost everyone has heard of the Rendlesham Forest UFO incident in Suffolk, England in late December 1980. Two USAF airmen, Staff Sgt Jim Penniston and Airman John Burroughs, stationed at the twin NATO bases RAF Woodbridge and RAF Bentwaters nearby, saw strange lights and got close enough to a mysterious triangular UFO craft that they could touch it. Colonel Charles Halt then led a military team into the forest to investigate the sightings. Halt and his team also saw strange lights and a red orb with a black center “winking” back at them, and claimed a UFO fired a beam of light near their feet.

• Now, a local resident has come forward claiming that he was poaching animals in the Rendlesham Forest in December of 1980, and saw Colonel Halt and his men in the woods. “Now bear this in mind,” says the poacher, “before this encounter I saw and heard a lot of strange things in that forest. I could tell you stories that would bend your bones, so every time I went poaching, I always took my camera always hoping to capture some evidence.”

• On this night, he got his black and white photos. “I saw a basketball sized red orb. It had a black center like a pupil and looked just like an eye winking at you, just like Halt explained it. It was zig zagging between the trees, strange. Freaked me out, weird… I saw it before Halt. It passed me first. Halt and his team were about 200 meters away, I could hear all the noise. Later I saw another UFO – it was firing beams of light down to the ground, definitely looking for something, God knows what.”

• The poacher submitted his photos and story anonymously through the UFO Casebook website, which collects information about UFO sightings from around the world. “I’ve sat on this information for over 40 years and it feels good to get it out and show the truth,” said the anonymous poacher. “I tell you, what I witnessed was simply incredible, definitely extra-terrestrial. No two ways about it.” “After this thing happened, I was followed for weeks, I had my phone tapped – scary time.” “You can read books and watch TV shows about it, but I’m telling you, you had to be there to really understand and appreciate just how incredible this thing was, changed my life forever.”

• British UFO sleuth Philip Mantle, a former director of investigations for the British UFO Research Association, questions the digital format of the proffered photos. “With today’s digital technology I have become very wary of any alleged UFO photographs, even more so when the photographer is anonymous as he is here with these pictures. Before I could come to any conclusions, I would have to know a lot more detail about the type of camera, the film, the exposure and so on,” said Mantle. “Remember, if these photos are authentic and taken in 1980, they would be on film and not digital.”

• There have been various theories to explain the Rendlesham incident including a lighthouse, a Russian satellite re-entry, and a stolen truck of manure set on fire. Brit researcher Nick Redfern put forward an explanation tying the sighting to scientists from the UK’s top-secret laboratory, Porton Down in Wiltshire, that carried out mind control experiments. He claims that soldiers from the base were tripping on LSD while the scientists set up advanced holograms to create images of UFOs.

THESE spooky black and white photos allegedly show the UFO at the centre of

Britain’s biggest ever case for the first time.

They were supposedly taken in Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk by a poacher who claims he saw the same UFO being hunted by a military team from a nearby US airbase.

The alleged witness claims he was 200ft away from Colonel Charles Halt, deputy base commander of RAF Bentwaters, and his men, when he spotted the

glowing orb – in an unsolved case often dubbed the British Roswell after the infamous US UFO crash.

                            poacher photo

He said: “When I was younger, I was a poacher. I lived very close to Rendlesham Forest and frequently went poaching there. So back in 1980, 28 December, I was in the forest poaching.

“Now bear this in mind, before this encounter I saw and heard a lot of strange things in that forest. I could tell you stories that would bend your bones, so every time I went poaching, I always took my camera always hoping to capture some evidence.”

The case involved military witnesses from the twin NATO bases RAF Woodbridge and

    Jim Penniston and John Burroughs

RAF Bentwaters in Suffolk who saw strange lights in late December 1980.

Two airmen, Staff Sgt Jim Penniston and Airman John Burroughs, claim they got so close to a triangular craft they actually touched it.

Colonel Halt then led a military team into the forest to investigate the sightings.

They also saw strange lights and a red orb with a black centre “winking” back at them and claimed a UFO fired a beam of light near their feet.

Halt later wrote a memo to the MOD describing the freakish incident but it was filed away by defence chiefs.

The poacher said: “I saw a basketball sized red orb, it had a black centre like a pupil

and looked just like an eye winking at you, just like Halt explained it.

“It was zig zagging between the trees, strange, freaked me out, weird, proper not right, I saw it before Halt.

“It passed me first. Halt and his team were about 200 meters away, I could hear all the noise. Later I saw another UFO – it was firing beams of light down to the ground, definitely looking for something, God knows what.

“I tell you, what I witnessed was simply incredible, definitely extra-terrestrial. No two ways about it.

“You can read books and watch TV shows about it, but I’m telling you, you had to be there to really understand and appreciate just how incredible this thing was, changed my life forever.

“I’ve sat on this information for over 40 years and it feels good to get it out and show the truth.

“After this thing happened, I was followed for weeks, I had my phone tapped – scary time.”

Prince Philip Probing Notorious ‘UFO’ Encounters

Article by Tom Towers                             November 25, 2020 (dailystar.co.uk)

• It is no secret that royal consort Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (pictured above with wife, Queen Elizabeth), has long had an interest in UFOs. Philip kept a map of UFO sightings on the wall in Buckingham Palace. He asked to see top-secret MoD reports into “close encounters” and told a senior aide to study UFO cases.

• Philip, 99, got into the UFO/alien phenomenon thanks to his uncle and mentor Lord Mountbatten, who admitted to his belief in aliens after his bricklayer, Fred Briggs, had an encounter with a flying saucer in 1955. In a signed statement, Mountbatten wrote: “Mr Briggs was still dazed when I first saw him and was worried that no one would believe his story. Indeed, he made a point of saying that he had never believed in flying saucer stories before, and had been absolutely amazed at what he had seen.”

• Last summer, it was noted that Philip read The Halt Perspective, a book focusing on the Rendlesham Forest incident when two members of the US Air Force from the nearby USAF bases, stumbled upon an unknown craft displaying strange “hieroglyphic symbols”. The craft accelerated away at high speed after they touched it. One of the book’s authors received a letter from Philip’s private secretary saying: “I am certain it will be read with close interest over the summer.” Philip also reportedly received a book called Haunted Skies: The Encyclopedia of British UFOs.

• Author David Clarke claims that Prince Philip wanted to meet the infamous ET contactee, George Adamski. Adamski claimed to have met a blonde-haired alien from Venus who took him in his spaceship for a tour of the solar system. A secret meeting with Adamski was cancelled at the last minute over fears it could embarrass the Royal Family.

       Lord Mountbatten

The Duke of Edinburgh, 99, got into the phenomenon thanks to his uncle and mentor Lord Mountbatten, who admitted to his belief in aliens.

Mountbatten made a report on a strange encounter his bricklayer Fred Briggs had with a flying saucer back in 1955.

In a signed statement, he wrote: “Mr Briggs was still dazed when I first saw him and was worried that no one would

            George Adamski

believe his story.

“Indeed, he made a point of saying that he had never believed in Flying Saucer stories before, and had been absolutely amazed at what he had seen.”

The Daily Star previously revealed that Philip kept a map of UFO sightings on the wall in Buckingham Palace.

He also reportedly asked to see top-secret MoD reports into “close encounters” and told a senior aide to study UFO cases.

Philip read The Halt Perspective last summer, a book focusing on the notorious Rendlesham Forest incident, The Sun reports.

Two members of the US Air Force (USAF), John Burroughs and Jim Penniston from the nearby Bentwaters and Woodbridge bases, went to investigate a suspected civilian plane crash on December 26, 1980.

They stumbled upon an unknown craft displaying strange “hieroglyphic symbols”, which accelerated away at high speed after they touched it.

Was Policeman Alan Godfrey Abducted by Aliens After UFO Sighting?

Listen to “e163 Was Policeman Alan Godfrey Abducted by Aliens After UFO Sighting?” on Spreaker.

Article by Ian Hurst October 24, 2019 (halifaxcourier.co.uk)

• In November 1980, police officer Alan Godfrey (pictured above drawing the UFO and human he encountered) was on routine patrol in Todmorden, England (between Manchester and Leeds; see map below) when he saw a bright light ahead. He stopped the car and looked at a diamond-shaped metallic disc with a dome and a row of windows hovering five feet above the ground. As he sketched the object in his notebook, there was a burst of light and he found himself 100 yards farther down the road. The UFO was gone. Godfrey realized there had been “missing time.”

• So Officer Godfrey underwent hypnosis where he recalled being struck by a beam of light which floated him into the craft. Inside the spaceship, he was bathed in an intense white light. A human-like being named Joseph, wearing Biblical clothing, questioned him. Godfrey recalled lying on a table, surrounded by small figures with bulb-like heads where he was physically examined.

• It was only a month after Officer Godfrey’s encounter that a UFO was reported to have landed in Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, outside RAF Woodbridge.

• This is only one of several sightings which have made the Todmorden area a well-known supernatural hot-spot. On September 4th 2003, a witness reported seeing “six lights that split, at one point becoming eight lights, that were orange and red in color.” On April 22nd 2004, an object was sighted in nearby Queensbury. In the early morning on November 21st 1980, three police officers in Halifax saw a “very bright steel blue flashing light” high in the sky, moving left to right towards the north.

• On July 15th 1995, three people in Halifax reported an object hovering above their house. They said that the object looked like the planet Saturn, with a ring around it, red portholes and four blue lights. It seemed to come down out of nowhere and hovered just feet away. After five minutes, the UFO made jerky movements before moving off in a southwest direction.

Police officer Alan Godfrey was on routine patrol in Todmorden in November 1980.

He had been called out to Ashenhurst and was driving along Burnley Road.

Ahead was a bright light.

He stopped the car. Blinked once – and blinked again.

What stood before him, he says, was a metallic disc with a dome and a row of windows.

He began sketching what he saw in his notebook.

Suddenly, there was a burst of light and he found himself 100 yards farther down the road. The UFO was gone.

Later, under hypnosis, he recalled being struck by a beam of light which floated him into the craft.

There, he says, he met a human-like being named Joseph, whose clothing was Biblical.

Alan says that inside the spaceship he was physically examined and asked questions.

         ret. officer Alan Godfrey today

He said what he had first seen was a diamond-shaped UFO, hovering about five feet above the ground in Burnley Road before disappearing.

PC Godfrey said he realised he had suffered “missing time.”

At the hypnosis session, he described being enveloped in an intense white light.

He recalled lying on a table, surrounded by small figures with bulb-like heads.

That was one of several sightings that made Todmorden become well-known as a supernatural hot-spot.

‘I Was Scared to Death’: New Account Given of Rendlesham Forest UFOs

Listen to “E56 8-7-19 ‘I Was Scared to Death’: Rendlesham Forest UFOs” on Spreaker.

Article by Katy Sandalls                   July 26, 2019                  (eadt.co.uk)

• During the 1980 Christmas party at the twin Royal Air Force bases, RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge, in Suffolk, England, US Air Force servicemen stationed at the base were sent out to investigate strange goings on in the nearby Rendlesham Forest. The American witnesses have since maintained stories of encountering a strange craft in the woods.

• Nick Pope, the UFO desk officer for Britain’s Ministry of Defence between 1991 and 1994, said, “The Rendlesham Forest incident is the most compelling of the approximately 12,000 UFO cases investigated during the lifetime of the MoD’s UFO project, and it remains unexplained to this day.” It has since been nicknamed the ‘UK’s Roswell’.

• Retired US Air Force Sergeant Michael Stacy Smith served in the 81st Airborne Police Squadron at the twin RAF bases in 1980. Smith was 19 years old at the time, and has never spoken publicly about his alien encounter until now.
Speaking to website The Analysis, Sgt. Smith spoke of a number of incidents which took place in Suffolk only weeks before the well-known incident in late December of 1980.

• “In November of 1980 I had my first incident. Our base went on alert, I was called out to the barracks,” said Smith. “They assigned me to a post behind the east gate on Woodbridge. So they dropped me off and I got into the bunker.” Then he had to take a pee. “I was standing on the edge of the bunker, peeing, and I looked off in the forest and you could see an orange, glowing light down in the woods.”

• “It was an orange – reddish glowing ball. Bigger than a beach ball, and it had a cats eye in it,” says Smith. “I thought what the hell is that? At first I thought it was someone with a lantern walking through the woods, looking at our planes. It stopped right in front of me. It just stayed there and hovered two feet off the ground.” Smith called for reinforcements who couldn’t believe what they saw. Then the object disappeared. “I was scared to death,” said Smith.

• In a separate incident Sgt. Smith recalled seeing strange shapes in the vicinity of RAF Bentwaters. “You could see coming from the south of Bentwaters… was a triangular shaped craft. It was blueish in the middle and had white around the edges of it. It was just above the tree line of Rendlesham Forest.” “I don’t care what anyone says, it was real.”

• Nick Pope agrees that “These new revelations are fascinating, though difficult to evaluate, especially given that nearly 40 years have passed since these events.” “As this new interview shows, whatever these military witnesses experienced was truly bizarre and had deep and lasting effects – both physical and emotional – on some of the individuals concerned.”

A new account of alien encounters in Rendlesham has been made public for the first time.

Retired Sergeant Michael Stacy Smith served in the 81st Airborne Police Squadron at the twin bases of RAF Bentwater and RAF Woodbridge at the time of the famous UFO incident in 1980.

It was during the base’s Christmas party that US airmen were sent out to investigate strange goings on at the base which have since been nicknamed the UK’s Roswell.

Sergeant Smith was only 19 when the events took place and has never spoken publicly about his alien encounter until now.
Speaking to website The Analysis, Sgt. Smith spoke of a number of incidents which took place in Suffolk only weeks before the well-known incident.

“In November of 1980 I had my first incident. Our base went on alert, I was called out to the barracks,” said Sgt Smith.
“They assigned me to a post behind the east gate on Woodbridge. So they dropped me off and I got into the bunker.”

Sgt Smith said that while in the bunker he needed to go to the toilet.

“I was standing on the edge of the bunker, peeing, and I looked off in the forest and you could see an orange, glowing light down in the woods.

“It was an orange – reddish glowing ball.

“Bigger than a beach ball and it had a cats eye in it.

“I thought what the hell is that. At first I thought it was someone with a lantern walking through the woods, looking at our planes.

“It stopped right in front of me. It just stayed there and hovered two feet off the ground.”

Sgt. Smith called for reinforcements who couldn’t believe what they had seen.

Not long after the encounter, the object disappeared.

“I was scared, I was just a 19-year-old kid,” said Sgt Smith.

“I was scared to death.”

Why Have There Been So Many UFO Sightings Near Nuclear Facilities?

“E17 Why Have There Been So Many UFO Sightings Near Nuclear Facilities?”
by Adam Janos                     June 23, 2019                        (history.com)

• Former high-ranking US defense and intelligence officials, aerospace-industry veterans, academics and others associated with ‘To the Stars Academy of Arts & Science’ are asking: ‘why are so many UFOs being reported near nuclear facilities—and why isn’t there more urgency on the part of the government to assess their potential national-security threat?’ Their investigations are the subject of HISTORY’s limited series “Unidentified.”

• In the past century, more than a few UFO sightings have been reported in military contexts. In late World War II, U.S. airmen called the bright orange UFOs flying along the French-German border “foo fighters”. During the Korean War, soldiers claimed that a blue-green light emitting “pulsing rays” made their whole battalion sick with radiation poisoning.

• In the last 75 years, high-ranking U.S. military and intelligence personnel have also reported UFOs near sites associated with nuclear power, weaponry and technology—from the early atomic-bomb development and test sites of the past to active nuclear naval fleets in the present. “All of the nuclear facilities—Los Alamos, Livermore, Sandia, Savannah River—all had dramatic incidents where these unknown craft appeared over the facilities and nobody knew where they were from or what they were doing there,” said investigative journalist George Knapp.

• “There seems to be a lot of correlation there,” says Lue Elizondo, who from 2007 to 2012 served as director of the Pentagon UFO study program called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program.

• Robert Hastings, a UFO researcher and author of the book: UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites, says that ‘Nuclear-adjacent’ sightings go back decades. Witnesses to these incidents are often highly trained personnel with top security clearances. In recent years, their reports are being corroborated by sophisticated technology.

• In late 1948, “green fireballs” were reported in the skies near atomic laboratories in Los Alamos and Sandia, New Mexico, where the atomic bomb was first developed and tested. A declassified FBI document from 1950 mentions “flying saucers” measuring almost 50 feet in diameter near the Los Alamos labs. Over a dozen workers from the Nevada desert atomic test site told Knapp that UFO activity was commonplace.

• In the 1960s and ’70s, repeated UFO sightings emerged at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, a storage site for nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles. At one such sighting in 1967, former Air Force Capt. Robert Salas reported several of those missiles becoming inoperative, or “unlaunchable”, at the same time that base security reported seeing a glowing red object, about 30 feet in diameter, hovering over the facility.

• In December 1980, the US Air Force secretly housed nuclear weapons in 25 fortified bunkers beneath the Royal Air Force base at Bentwaters in Suffolk, England. USAF master sergeant Ivan Barker saw an object on radar having remarkable speed and maneuverability, covering 120 miles in a matter of seconds. He looked out of the window and saw a craft hovering over a water tower. “It was between about 1,500 and 2,000 feet high. The thing was…at least a city block…in diameter,” said Barker. Barker says it was shaped like a giant basketball, with portholes around the center, from which lights were emanating outward. “I was shocked… There was nothing aerodynamic about it. Basketballs don’t fly.” Then in a second it was gone. But Barker didn’t report the sighting to his superiors. “You don’t understand what the Air Force did to people who reported UFOs,” he said.

• Colonel Charles Halt was the deputy commander at RAF Bentwaters that night. Halt led a patrol to investigate the strange colorful lights seen descending into the nearby Rendlesham Forest. He saw a red light moving horizontally though the trees, “obviously under some kind of intelligent control.” A laser-like beam, he said, “landed 10-15 feet away from us. I was literally in shock.” Then the object flew north towards the base. Says Halt, “We could hear chatter on the radios that the beams went down into the weapons storage area.” The Air Force generals closed the case without investigation.

• In recent years, the US Navy has reported several UFO encounters off of both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Navy F-18 fighter pilots saw UFOs almost daily for several months between the summer of 2014 and the spring of 2015 along the Eastern seaboard between Virginia and Florida. “Wherever we were, they were there,” said Ryan Graves, an F-18 fighter pilot who holds a degree in aerospace engineering. The objects appeared in three shapes, Graves says—some were discs, others looked like a cube inside a sphere, while smaller round objects flew together in formation. All lacked visible engines or exhaust systems. Some tilted, mid-flight, like spinning tops, as seen in cockpit video. One UFO almost caused a collision by zipping dangerously between two jets. Graves said that the UFOs also appeared in the Persian Gulf.

• In November 2004, Navy pilots and radar operators from the USS Nimitz carrier fleet saw a 40-foot long tic-tac shaped object flying just above the ocean, 100 miles off the coast of California near San Diego. When F-18 fighter jets were scrambled to approach the object, it accelerated and easily outran the supersonic Navy craft.

• Chris Mellon, former US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence said that a carrier battle group being shadowed by UFOs all the way across the Atlantic to the Middle East “makes an extremely compelling case for the existence of technologies we didn’t think were possible.”

• There is an increasing openness in the Pentagon and on Capitol Hill to taking these sightings seriously as potential threats. In April 2019, the US Navy announced that it was updating its guidelines for how pilots and personnel should report unexplained aerial phenomena—making it easier for military members to report sightings to superiors without facing stigma and backlash. And now Congress has taken more interest in these UFO briefings.

• George Knapp says there is more UFO activity now than he has seen in three decades. Knapp notes that personnel at the military facilities, bases, ships and submarines where nuclear weapons are built, tested and deployed “have seen these things”. “Are they all crazy?”

Why are so many UFOs being reported near nuclear facilities—and why isn’t there more urgency on the part of the government to assess their potential national-security threat?

Those are questions being asked by a team of high-ranking former U.S. defense and intelligence officials, aerospace-industry veterans, academics and others associated with To the Stars Academy of Arts & Science. The team has been investigating a wide range of these sightings—and advocating more serious government attention.

Their investigations are the subject of HISTORY’s limited series “Unidentified.”

Throughout history, unexplained aerial phenomena (UAPs) have shocked, frightened and fascinated sky watchers. And in the last century, more than a few have been reported in military contexts. In late World War II, U.S. airmen called them “foo fighters”: strange orange flying lights by the French-German border. During the Korean War, some soldiers claimed a blue-green light emitting “pulsing rays” made their whole battalion sick with what, to some, resembled radiation poisoning.

Less known: In the last 75 years, high-ranking U.S. military and intelligence personnel have also reported UAPs near sites associated with nuclear power, weaponry and technology—from the early atomic-bomb development and test sites to active nuclear naval fleets.

“All of the nuclear facilities—Los Alamos, Livermore, Sandia, Savannah River—all had dramatic incidents where these unknown craft appeared over the facilities and nobody knew where they were from or what they were doing there,” says investigative journalist George Knapp, who has studied the UAP-nuclear connection for more than 30 years. Knapp has gathered documentation by filing Freedom of Information Act requests to the departments of defense and energy.

“There seems to be a lot of correlation there,” says Lue Elizondo, who from 2007 to 2012 served as director of a covert team of UAP researchers operating inside the Department of Defense. The program, called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), received $22 million of the Pentagon’s $600 billion budget in 2012, The New York Times reported. Elizondo now helps lead To the Stars’ investigations.

The UFO-nuclear Connection Began at the Dawn of the Atomic Age.

Nuclear-adjacent sightings go back decades, says Robert Hastings, a UFO researcher and author of the book UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites. Hastings says he’s interviewed more than 160 veterans who have witnessed strange things in the skies around nuclear sites.

“You have objects being tracked on radar performing at speeds that no object on earth can perform,” Hastings says. “You have eyewitness [military] personnel. You have jet pilots.” Witnesses to these incidents are often highly trained personnel with top security clearances. In recent years, their reports are being corroborated by sophisticated technology.

Unidentified Review: History Series Takes UFOs to a New Level of Credibility

by Alejandro Rojas                    May 20, 2019                    (denofgeek.com)

• ‘History’ (formerly ‘The History Channel’) is set to debut its new six-part docuseries entitled: ‘Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation’. The show basically follows the ongoing investigations by Tom DeLonge’s ‘To The Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences’ (TTSA), and introduce the Academy members as credible investigators and witnesses. With a former career intelligence officer (Luis Elizondo), a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (Chris Mellon), and multiple jet fighter pilots (David Fravor, et al), it becomes clear that research into what the hell UFOs are is more legit than ever.

• TTSA was formed in the fall of 2017. Elizondo left his Pentagon position and joined the TTSA team saying that the Department of Defense (DoD) was not taking the subject of UFOs seriously enough. They made a name for themselves in December 2017 when their efforts resulted in the New York Times revealing the Pentagon’s ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’ (AATIP) and releasing Navy cockpit video of UFO, including the infamous “Tic Tac” UFO from 2004. History’s Unidentified intends to provide insight into AATIP investigations and TTSA’s more recent discoveries.

• The first episode will review in detail this 2004 incident where F-18 fighter jets from the US Navy’s Nimitz carrier group off of San Diego encountered the remarkable maneuvering of a 40-foot long ‘Tic Tac’ UFO. The wingmate of the F-18 piloted by Commander David Fravor when they encountered the ‘Tic Tac’ UFO – who has declined any public interviews thus far – will give her own testimony in the initial episode regarding the incident.

• Unidentified has a similar feel as other investigation focused reality shows. But instead of wild speculation or leaps in logic that strain credulity, Unidentified offers a more grounded perspective on a topic that the general public typically regarded as “out of this world.”

• “Both Chris Mellon and Lou Elizondo are closely involved with what’s going on inside the Pentagon over the course of this last year,” said Executive Producer Anthony Lappe. “They consider that Navy announcement (on new UFO reporting procedures) to be a huge victory for sort of everything they’ve been doing behind the scenes and we were able to chronicle that.”

• Another episode will focus on the 1980 UFO incident on a U.S Air Force base in the Rendlesham Forest, in England. Elizondo says that there will be other astounding cases presented from the AATIP files that have not yet been made public.

The first episode of Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation on History Channel uses a familiar format to deliver an unprecedented investigation. UFO reality shows have come and gone, but what makes Unidentified unique is the credibility of the show’s investigators and witnesses. From a former career intelligence officer, a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, and multiple jet fighter pilots, it becomes clear that research into what the hell UFOs are is more legit than ever.

Unidentified follows the ongoing UFO investigations of Luis Elizondo and To The Stars Academy (TTSA). Elizondo is a former intelligence officer who resigned in October 2017. That same month, former Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge announced the creation of TTSA, an organization focused on researching the unknown with an impressive list of members. Elizondo was on that list. During the press conference announcing TTSA, Elizondo claimed he left his job at the Pentagon because one of his posts entailed researching military UFO cases and he felt the Department of Defense (DoD) was not taking the subject seriously enough.

The following December, the New York Times, followed by Politico and The Washington Post, published articles providing more insight into Elizondo’s former UFO program, called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP). The story garnered headlines around the world and created public interests into the nature of the secretive Pentagon project. History’s Unidentified intends to provide insight into AATIP investigations and TTSA’s more recent discoveries.

Unidentified will be a six-part series. The first episode introduces us to the TTSA team members and covers a fantastic UFO encounter as told by the witness, all of whom were on active duty with the Navy when the contacts took place.

The New York Times article that broke the AATIP story also included details about one of the most exciting AATIP cases. Over several days in November of 2004, the Nimitz Aircraft Carrier Strike Group captured objects on radar that performed unusual maneuvers. During a training exercise, several F-18 jet fighters were diverted to get a closer look at one of the objects. Commander David Fravor got the best view. He describes seeing an object that looked like a 40-foot-long white Tic Tac that performed remarkable maneuvers. This case, also covered by Den of Geek, is reviewed in detail in the first episode of Unidentified.

Top-Secret Government Investigation ‘Probed Health Effects of UFO Encounters’

by Jasper Hamill                   April 8, 2019                     (metro.co.uk)

• The list of titles to the 38 declassified documents generated under the Advanced Aerospace Threat and Identification Program (AATIP) that were released last year show that investigators studied ‘exotic technologies including wormholes, antigravity, invisibility cloaking, warp drives and high energy laser weapons’. Now it’s claimed that AATIP also explored the health ‘consequences’ suffered by people who witnessed UFO incidents.

• One of the studies was called ‘Field Effects on Biological Tissues’. Former head of the Ministry of Defence’s UFO investigation desk, Nick Pope, says that this is likely to be the paper which explored the health effects of close encounters. Pope also points to a statement made by AATIP scientist Dr Hal Puthoff, speaking of a Brazilian Air Force investigation that included “…a lot of medical injuries when people encountered these (UFO) craft at close range.” Pope says that this is confirmation that the Pentagon’s AATIP program looked not only at UFOs but also at close encounters and alien abductions.

• Pope goes on to say, “I can’t prove it, but from sources close to this I’m almost certain that part of this work involved getting blood and DNA samples from close encounter witnesses – including at least one and maybe two witnesses to the UK’s infamous Rendlesham Forest incident.” “I believe this was done in a way that disguised the fact that this was for a US intelligence program, with witnesses being told that they were participating in a scientific or academic study.”

The classified study was called the Advanced Aerospace Threat and Identification Program (AATIP) and investigated mysterious aircraft or other unexplained phenomena. Official documents reveal that investigators studied ‘exotic technologies’ including wormholes, antigravity, invisibility cloaking, warp drives and high energy laser weapons. Now it’s been claimed that AATIP explored the health ‘consequences’ suffered by people who witnessed UFO incidents.

Details of 38 papers published during the AATIP probe were released last year, although only a handful of the actual documents have been released to the public. One of the studies was called ‘Field Effects on Biological Tissues’. Nick Pope, who was head of the Ministry of Defence’s UFO investigation desk, said this is likely to be the paper which explored the health effects of close encounters. Pope pointed us to an article published on Las Vegas Now in which Dr Hal Puthoff, a scientist who worked on AATIP, said: ‘We as part of this program looked at some cases that were really good from Brazil. ‘In 1977, 78, it was like Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a thousand pages of documents all done by the Brazilian Air Force investigative team, 500 photographs, 15 hours of motion film, a lot of medical injuries when people encountered these craft at close range.’ Pope told Metro the statement is ‘confirmation that the Pentagon’s AATIP program looked not only at UFOs but also at close encounters and alien abductions’. He said: ‘I can’t prove it, but from sources close to this I’m almost certain that part of this work involved getting blood and DNA samples from close encounter witnesses – including at least one and maybe two witnesses to the UK’s infamous Rendlesham Forest incident.

Pentagon UFO Project Could Have Secret Info That Solves Britain’s Roswell

by Paul Harper         April 22, 2018            (dailystar.co.uk)

• In December 1980 in Suffolk, England, two US Air Force personnel stationed at the Bentwaters and Woodbridge bases went to investigate a suspected civilian plane crash in a nearby wooded area of Rendlesham forest. They found a craft with strange hieroglyphic symbols. Upon touching the craft, it sped away into the sky only to return two days later.

• In December 2017, a NY Times article broke about a 2007-2012 Pentagon program that studied UFOs. Former British Ministry of Defense expert Nick Pope said: “When the story about the Pentagon’s secret UFO project first broke, there was an intriguing reference to AATIP having a dossier detailing the best UFO cases from around the world… Apart from Roswell, the Rendlesham Forest incident is the best-known UFO case in the world, so it’s logical it would be in AATIP’s dossier, especially as the Rendlesham witnesses were US military personnel.”

• All Freedom of Information requests for details on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) have been rejected on national security grounds, says Pope. “The Special Relationship between the US and the UK remains strong, but there’s been very little intelligence-sharing about UFOs.” “Governments – even allies – are in competition with each other over this, and don’t want to give their game away,” Pope said.

• “We’re not too far from the 40th anniversary of what’s been called Britain’s Roswell,” said Pope. “I hope the Rendlesham witnesses – Charles Halt, John Burroughs, Jim Penniston and others – are finally going to find out what happened to them.” “It would be ironic if the answer to Britain’s most famous UFO mystery was lying in a government file somewhere, not in the MoD, but in the Pentagon.”

So says Nick Pope who investigated the strange phenomenon for the Ministry of Defence.

The massive Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) also explored reports of flying saucers.

Since it was exposed last year, three videos have shown bizarre encounters with pilots and inexplicably-fast aircraft.

And Mr Pope believes AATIP could solve the famous Rendlesham Forest incident on Boxing Day December 1980 in Suffolk.

Two members of the US Air Force (USAF), John Burroughs and Jim Penniston from the nearby Bentwaters and Woodbridge bases, went to investigate a suspected civilian plane crash.

They stumbled upon an unknown craft displaying strange “hieroglyphic symbols”, which accelerated away at high speed after they touched it.

The UFO was briefly tracked on radar and reportedly returned two days later and fired beams at air force crew and a “sensitive area” of the Woodbridge base, according to Mr Pope.

The former MOD expert said: “When the story about the Pentagon’s secret UFO project first broke, there was an intriguing reference to AATIP having a dossier detailing the best UFO cases from around the world.

“Apart from Roswell, the Rendlesham Forest incident is the best-known UFO case in the world, so it’s logical it would be in AATIP’s dossier, especially as the Rendlesham witnesses were US military personnel.”

Mr Pope said that all Freedom of Information requests for details on AATIP’s work have been rejected on national security grounds.

“The Special Relationship between the US and the UK remains strong, but there’s been very little intelligence-sharing about UFOs,” said Mr Pope.

Mr Pope claimed that an MOD assessment talked about what kind of “novel military applications” could come from UFOs.

“Governments – even allies – are in competition with each other over this, and don’t want to give their game away,” he said.

He believes that the X-Files type investigations of the Pentagon project could have answers about mystery radiations associated with flying saucers.

He said: “In a later MoD intelligence assessment of the UFO phenomenon more generally, my colleagues looked again at Rendlesham, and their final report contained the bombshell sentence ‘the well-reported Rendlesham Forest/Bentwaters event is an example where it might be postulated that several observers were probably exposed to UAP [Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon] radiation for longer than normal UAP sighting periods’.

“I’d be intrigued to know what information AATIP has about this, and what they concluded.

Proof of Aliens? What is the Rendlesham Forest Incident?

by Emily Hodgkin                   January 6, 2017                    (express.co.uk)

• The Rendlesham Forest incident in Suffolk, England is still one of the most compelling stories of a UFO sighting recorded in the UK, and it has been referred to as “Britain’s Roswell”. What was the Rendlesham Forest incident?

• On the night of December 26, 1980, a patrol near RAF Woodbridge reported seeing lights, which appeared to land in the near by Rendlesham Forest. (At the time, RAF Woodbridge was a U.S. Air Force base for the 79th Tactical Fighter Squadron. This is adjacent to it’s “twin” base, RAF Bentwaters.) Thinking the lights might be a crashed human aircraft, they rushed to the site and found a round, glowing metal object with colored lights. Returning to the site the next morning, all they found were a number of triangular impressions on the ground.

• Two days later, on December 28, 1980, the deputy base commander, Lt. Col. Charles Halt, visited the area and took radiation readings. He and his party saw another flashing light which hovered and beamed down a stream of light. A witness to the event, U.S. Air Force officer Steve Longero, said, “I think it was something not from this world.”

• Longero said of the object in the woods, “From what I remember… it was really glowing like a reddish, greenish light… like something was really hot and it was just glowing.” He also recalled how the object vanished. “As people were getting close to this thing it kind of came nearer to us and then it would go forward and then go back and all of a sudden it just disappeared, like something out of Star Trek, it was like warp speed and we were all ‘what was that?’”

• Other British local claimed to have seen the UFO as well. The occurrence caused the Ministry of Defence to issue a public statement to the people of Briton to assure them it was not a threat to national security.

• You can camp in Rendelsham Forest, and the forest has a trial called the UFO Trail.

ALIEN encounters of signs of aliens are some of the most intriguing mysteries for human kind. Was proof of aliens found in the Rendlesham Forest incident in Suffolk? Local men claimed to have seen UFO sighting.

Alien encounters such as the Rendlesham Forest incident are often the subject of public intrigue.
This event, which occurred in 1980, is still one of the most compelling stories of a UFO sighting recorded in the UK, and it has been referred to as “Britain’s Roswell”.

It even caused the Ministry of Defence to issue a public statement to the people of Briton to assure them it was not a threat to national security.

What was the Rendlesham Forest incident?

The Rendlesham Forest incident took place over two nights in December 1980. On 26 December a patrol around RAF Woodbridge reported seeing lights, which appeared to land in the near by Rendlesham Forest.

They rushed to the site, thinking the lights might be a crashed human aircraft, however, they were shocked by what they found.

They claimed to have found a round, glowing metal object with coloured light that scared animals in a nearby farm.

Returning to the site in the morning all they found were a number of triangular impressions on the ground.

On December 28 deputy base commander Lt. Col. Charles Halt visited the area and took radiation readings. He and his party then claimed to see another flashing light, which hovered and beamed down a stream of light.

Was proof of aliens found in Rendlesham Forest incident in Suffolk? While some think this could be evidence of an extraterrestrial visit, most agree it is not conclusive.

Some believe it to be a hoax, while others claimed the object was a downed Soviet spy satellite.
A witness of the event, retired U.S. Airforce officer Steve Longero, told the Sun in December 2016: “I think it was something not from this world.”

I Heard US Airmen Speak of ‘Little People’ After Military Base UFO Case

by Jon Austin        December 7, 2017        (express.co.uk)

• A 62-year-old Felixstowe, England man remembers hanging out at a bar where US Air Force personnel stationed in RAF Bentwaters would go in 1980. He asked not to be named. On one evening he overheard the American servicemen, whom he knew, talking about their encounter with strange “lights and little people”. He says that one of the servicemen was agitated and his friends had to calm him down. Days later the Brit asked about the agitated serviceman. The friend told him that he was okay, but for some unknown reason the Air Force had relocated him back to the United States.

• The Brit didn’t hear about the now infamous Rendlesham UFO event until four years later, when it was reported that a triangular-shaped UFO landed in the woods near the US military base on December 26 and 28, 1980.

[Editor’s Note] This is further confirmation that the Rendlesham Forest incident did occur, to go along with the substantial amount of circumstantial evidence that already exists.

The 62-year-old, who asked Express.co.uk not to name him, claims to have heard US Air Force (USAF) personal discussing “lights” and “little people” just days after the notorious Rendlesham UFO sightings in Suffolk in December 1980.

The Rendlesham legend, which centres around neighbouring bases RAF Woodbridge and RAF Bentwaters, near Mildenhall, Suffolk, has been dubbed Britain’s Roswell, in a nod to the mystery of the UFO crash said to have taken place outside the town in New Mexico, USA, in July 1947.

The suspected alien event at Rendlesham saw three US officers based at RAF Bentwaters claim a “triangular-shaped craft” landed in neighbouring woods in the early hours of December 26, 1980, returning over two further nights.

The man, who was working in the warehouse of a newspaper and magazine company in Felixstowe at the time, says he was in the bar of The Marlborough Hotel on Felixstowe sea front between Christmas and New Year 1980, when he heard the bizarre exchange.

He said: “The sea front hotels were very popular with the USAF personnel, in particular the newly opened Flying Boat bar at the Marlborough.

“I knew a few of the USAF personnel by name, but it was just through bar talk and we had no association outside of the pub.

“I was having a drink at the bar.

“There were a number of USAF personnel in the Boat, as we called it and a small group of them stood alone in a corner of the bar.

“I looked over at them occasionally and could see they were having a serious discussion over something.
“One airman seemed to be particularly agitated.

“I edged over towards them, whether I wanted to be nosy, or just get closer to the fire I don’t know, but I did overhear a few words.

“The airman that was agitated talked about lights and little people.”

He said he had no idea at the time about the Rendlesham case, and did not learn about it until four years later when the News of the World ran an article about the “alien” event.

The man said: “Obviously it was a little weird, but the events of 1980 were not known generally at that time, so it meant nothing to me.

“The airman was calmed down by his pals and they got another round in.

“I asked the airman that went to the bar whether his mate was all right. He just answered he was a little upset, nothing more.

“A short while later the agitated airman let his emotions get the better of him again and he started waffling on, however I could not make out what he was saying.

“One of his mates then put an arm on him, trying to calm him down and told him to keep quiet or he would be in trouble.”

He said a few days later, the airman that had come to the bar to get a round in was back in the pub.
The man said: “I asked if his mate had recovered from the last time I saw them.

“He said, ‘he thought so, but he had been sent back to the States and no-one knew why’.”

“Britain’s Roswell” to Receive Full Hollywood Makeover

by Robbie Graham       November 28, 2017       (mysteriousuniverse.org)

• Those who are clued-in to the UFO tapestry well know the account of the U.S. military personnel who witnessed the baffling UFO/ET events just outside of RAF Woodbridge near Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk, England on the nights of December 26 and 28, 1980. It has been the subject of numerous books, articles and documentaries, but has never quite made it into the pop-cultural landscape to the level of Roswell.

• Sony Pictures Television intends to change all of that by teaming up with award-winning writer/director Joe Ahearne (Doctor Who) and UK-based Eleventh Hour Films to produce a major new TV drama based on the UFO incident called Rendlesham.

[Editor’s Note] Or will the deep state-compromised Sony Corporation choose to do a dis-info hatchet job to bury the Rendelsham incident for good?

During the past three-and-a-half decades, Britain’s most famous/notorious UFO case has been the subject of numerous books, articles and documentaries. It has also generated some of the most fierce and downright nasty feuds the UFO field has ever known. We are, of course, referring to the Rendlesham Forest incident, in which US military personnel bore witness to baffling events just outside of RAF Woodbridge near Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, on the nights of December 26 and 28, 1980.

Despite having embedded itself firmly into UFO lore and having made the occasional dent in official culture as tabloid fodder, those Rendlesham UFOs—whatever they were—never managed to plant their landing gear fully into our pop-cultural landscape. That may be about to change, however.

Director, Joe Ahearne

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures Television has teamed up with UK-based Eleventh Hour Films for Rendlesham, a major new TV drama based on the UFO incident(s).

The show is to be helmed by award-winning writer/director Joe Ahearne (Doctor Who). Co-producer Eve Gutierrez told the Hollywood Reporter: “Joe is a master story-teller with a long-standing fascination for science-fiction so we were totally thrilled when the Rendlesham story sparked for him… Now, working with Sony Pictures Television, we are looking forward to bringing this timely, other-worldly story to the global market.”

About Those New JFK Files Part-1

by Nick Redfern         October 30, 2017       (mysteriousuniverse.org)

• Last week, a major portion of CIA and FBI documents on the JFK assassination were declassified and released. Many of the JFK documents however, have been destroyed over the decades. These were, most likely, the most incriminating of the documents. It turns out that this is a common problem.

• In 1993, a New Mexico Congressman tasked the Government Accountability Office with digging up all of the documents pertaining to the Roswell UFO incident. The GAO discovered that all of the correspondence from Roswell Army Air Field between 1945 and 1951 were missing. The National Archives and the Air Force Roswell documents were also gone.

• In May 2011, a search for documents pertaining to the Rendlesham Forest case in England were missing, and an internal UK Ministry of Defence showed that they suspected “a deliberate attempt… to eradicate the records…”

• In 1973, the CIA Director, Richard Helms, ordered all of the records pertaining to the MK Ultra mind control program be destroyed. He ordered an agent to go to the CIA records installation in Warrenton, Virginia which housed hundreds of thousands of pages of MK-Ultra-themed documents, and have them all burned. Helms also sent out a directive to all agents, colleges and universities involved in the program to burn anything linked to MK Ultra.

The new release of a large batch of files on the JFK assassination of November 22, 1963 amounts to a welcome addition to what we know about the still-controversial and mysterious affair. There are some genuine nuggets contained in the declassified material. A few friends have asked me what I think about all of this. Well, I think the release of any number of files – large or small – on the killing of the president is a good thing. But, there is one important issue that must be addressed.

While the now-available files have been extensively studied and commented on by the world’s media, less commentary has been made with regard to a far more important issue. Namely, the deliberate destruction of files on the death of Kennedy – and decades ago, no less. So, yes, I’m encouraged by this new release of files. But, it should not overlook the fact that someone, somewhere, went out of their way years ago to ensure that certain files that might have proved valuable (they may even have been definitive smoking-guns) will now forever be out of our hands. Before I get to the matter of the JFK assassination, in part-1 of this article I’ll demonstrate that files are destroyed under mysterious circumstances all the time. Then, in part-2, I’ll address the matter of the events which went down at Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas – just a short drive from where I live.

In 1993, the mysterious Roswell affair of July 1947 caught the attention of Steven Schiff, at the time the Congressman of New Mexico – the state in which the Roswell event occurred. Far from happy by what he saw as some kind of cover-up, Schiff approached the Government Accountability Office (at the time, it was known as the General Accounting Office) and asked them to look into the Roswell affair and see what might be found. The GAO was enthused about the idea of looking into Roswell. It was, however, not so much what the GAO found that intrigued them, but what they couldn’t find. As the GAO dug deeper and deeper, they learned to their amazement and concern that every single outgoing message from the old Roswell Army Air Field, from 1945 to 1951, could not be located. The files were gone. All of them. The GAO approached the Air Force and the National Archives for answers. There were no firm answers. Only puzzles, theories and opinions. The National Archives checked their files: no luck. The Air Force came up blank, too. The mystery remains.

It’s much the same in the U.K., with the nation’s most famous UFO incident: the alleged landing of an extraterrestrial spacecraft at Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, England in December 1980 – an incident which involved numerous military personnel from the nearby Royal Air Force Bentwaters facility. Witnesses saw a strange, roughly triangular-shaped object come down. Strange lights filled the skies over the base, and a huge cover-up was put into place.

What was certainly the most amazing – and suspicious – aspect of all this reared its head in May 2011. Freedom of Information Act documents on the Rendlesham Forest case surfaced that caught the attention of not just UFO researchers, but the U.K.’s media, too. The files were notable not because of what they said about the case specifically. Rather, they were files which revealed that there was a massive gap in the Defense Intelligence papers where the Rendlesham papers should have been kept. Internal memos released via FOIA legislation showed that the Ministry of Defense suspected that “a deliberate attempt had been made to eradicate the records covering this incident.” Precisely who had done the eradicating was never proved. Or why.

In early 1973 large amounts of MK-Ultra “mind-control” files were destroyed on the orders of the CIA director at the time, Richard Helms. The reasoning behind the destruction was simple: the program was in danger of being compromised by the U.S. media and the U.S. Senate. And, as the work of MK-Ultra, by 1973, had long been perfected, the now, old, historical records – which told the stories of the controversies that went on in the program – were deemed vital to be destroyed. But, how did this situation come about? Let’s see.
