Pentagon’s UFO Videos Exposed in ‘The Basement Office’ Docu-Series

• On April 27th, the US Department of Defense confirmed that the three UAP/UFO videos taken by Navy pilots are genuine. But the DoD maintains that they don’t know what they are. If the Pentagon was hoping that the revelations about the UFO videos might be overlooked by a world focused on the coronavirus pandemic, it was wrong. The story made headlines all around the world.

• With the spotlight on the Navy videos, competing theories have been bandied about. Some think that it was some kind of pilot misperception or a glitch in the infrared cameras. Others claim that it was “black project” drone technology being blind-tested against the Navy fleet to see how they’d react. Some commentators thought Russia or China might be the culprit.

• The theory that attracted the most attention was that the mystery objects were extraterrestrial spacecraft. This writer, Nick Pope, hopes that it is extraterrestrials. The New York Post’s docu-series “The Basement Office”, in which Nick Pope is featured, probes all of these theories and puts some other classic UFO cases under the microscope. • If the Pentagon’s re-release of the UFO videos seems odd, their flip-flopping over the true nature of the DoD’s ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’ is truly bizarre. Since the existence of the AATIP was first revealed in December 2017, the Pentagon has changed its position on the role of the program multiple times. The Pentagon’s current position is that the program was not UFO/UAP related. Rather, it studied next-generation terrestrial aerospace threats.

• The problem is that a Defense Intelligence Agency letter to Congress (see here) listed 38 technical reports produced under the program. None of them related to Russian or Chinese aircraft. One related to the Drake Equation, used to estimate the number of civilizations in the galaxy. When Pope pointed out the disconnect, he was told the Pentagon was revising its line on the AATIP yet again. A new statement is expected soon.

• In a year when our lives have changed in ways that would have been unimaginable a few months ago, could the conspiracy theorists be right and might there be even bigger revelations ahead? Whatever happens, UFOs are now center stage in a way we’ve never seen before, being discussed seriously at the highest levels.

 

On April 27, the Department of Defense issued a statement confirming the release of three videos showing US Navy jets chasing “unidentified aerial phenomena” — that’s the approved military term for what the public calls UFOs. The videos had been in the public domain for some time, but there was always a degree of doubt about them. The Pentagon statement made it official: Yes, the videos are genuine, and no, the DOD still doesn’t know what these things are — the official categorization is “unidentified”.

The timing of the Pentagon’s announcement drew a lot of comment. Why release these videos now, people asked, with the world’s attention focused on the coronavirus? Was this a classic example of “a good day to bury bad news”? If that was the Pentagon’s plan, it backfired badly. Perhaps because we’ve been so saturated with COVID-19 coverage, everyone was looking for something else. Far from being buried, the story made headlines all around the world.

UFOs generate controversy. The videos were debated furiously and in the resulting skeptic versus believer dogfight, competing theories were bandied about: Some people tried to explain everything in terms of pilot misperception and glitches or misreadings of the forward-looking infrared cameras on which the films were taken.

Others argued that it was “black project” technology being blind-tested against the Fleet, to see how they’d react. One hears a lot about hypersonic missiles and drone swarms these days. Given that such programs are highly classified and deeply compartmentalized, it’s possible that one part of the government wasn’t aware of what another part was doing. Other commentators thought Russia or China might be the culprit.

Inevitably though, the theory that attracted the most attention was the possibility that the mystery objects were extraterrestrial spacecraft. I’m undecided on all this, but I hope it’s extraterrestrials — martians would be much more fun than Russians. Season 2 of The Post’s docu-series “The Basement Office” will probe all of the theories, and put some other classic UFO cases under the microscope.

Stardust Ranch on Ghost Adventures: Owner John Edmonds Claims Aliens Are Watching Him

• Located about an hour west of Phoenix is The Stardust Ranch. John Edmonds and his wife bought the Stardust Ranch in 1995 with hopes of operating a horse rescue. Those dreams were cut short when John Edmonds says that aliens made their way onto his property.

• Edmonds has put the ranch up for sale for $5 million. Two years ago, the New York Post reported that John Edmonds was desperately trying to sell the property because of the “alien infestation” after claiming that aliens were trying to abduct his wife. (see 2:05 minute video below) Edmonds told the local NBC affiliate, “They actually levitated [my wife] out of the bed in the master chamber and carried her into the parking lot and tried to draw her up into the craft.”

• On the Travel Channel’s show “Ghost Adventures”, ghost hunter Zak Bagans and his crew investigated the Stardust Ranch. Edmonds showed the television crew what he believes to be a portal at Stardust Ranch that allows extraterrestrials a way to access his ranch. Edmonds says that grey aliens have attacked his animals and tried to abduct his wife. His wife confirmed the claims, saying that she was attacked by aliens in the main bedroom of the Stardust Ranch home.

• Others claim to have had alien encounters out in the Arizona desert, including Travis Walton who claims that he was abducted by aliens. The aliens famously kept Walton for five days before returning him to Earth, where he used a payphone in Heber, Arizona to call for help.

 

On the next episode of Ghost Adventures, Zak Bagans and his crew are headed to Arizona to investigate the Stardust Ranch. The owner of the ranch is John Edmonds, who has made some shocking claims about aliens on the property.

Edmonds believes that there is a portal at Stardust Ranch that allows extraterrestrials a way to access his ranch. He even shows it to the Ghost Adventures crew.

And John Edmonds isn’t the only one claiming to have had an alien encounter on the Arizona property. His wife also claims to have been attacked by aliens. In fact, she says it happened in the main bedroom of the Stardust Ranch home.

He claims that he was abducted by aliens and that they kept him for five days before returning him to Earth, where he used a payphone in Heber, Arizona to call for help.

The Stardust Ranch sits about an hour west of Phoenix. It’s a popular destination for those who believe in aliens and want to go looking for them.

• On June 25th, former US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev) appeared on “Nevada Newsmakers”, a local Las Vegas radio show and internet podcast. Reid defended the $22 million he earmarked for the Pentagon to study UFOs under the secret Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) from 2007 to 2012. The New York Post reports that the Pentagon’s UFO investigations continue to this day.

• Reid said of UFO studies, “We know that China is doing it… We know that Russia, which is led by someone within the KGB, is doing it, too. So we better take a look at it too.” Reid considers UFO research a matter of national security. He noted that UFOs have been sighted near military installations in South Dakota and elsewhere and that some of the most credible reports have come from military pilots.

• Reid said that the government’s UFO investigations “… showed that not two people, four people or six people or 20 people but hundreds of hundreds of people have seen these things, sometimes all at the same time.” “It is no longer just speculation that people see these unidentified flying objects.”

• Reid said that former US Senator Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, who died in 2010, helped push to fund the research. Ted Stevens told Reid, ‘I’ve wanted to look into (UFOs) since I was in the Army Air Corps.’ ‘I was flying an airplane and there was a vehicle that was right with me and I could not get rid of it. I would go up, down, sideways, whatever. Then I went down to the ground and asked ‘what was that up there?’ And they said they saw nothing.”

• Reid said he was happy to talk about the AATIP program, “as long as we are not talking about little green men. If you want to talk about science, I’m all in.”

• [Editor’s Note]  Reid refuses to go all the way and admit to the extraterrestrial presence that the government has been covering up since WWII. He must certainly know much more than he is letting on. But he has to remain credible to the conservative skeptics who go out of their way to ridicule and debunk anything UFO/ET related. This is their game plan, just as it is with Tom DeLonge’s ‘To The Stars Academy’ whose members include some who were involved in the AATIP program, to offer to the public only a “limited hangout” of new information on the presence of extraterrestrial-based UFOs. While most in the UFO community believe that the only real answer is full disclosure, those with government ties seem to feel that the public would freak out if they had all of the facts. This is a current point of debate. But it is unfortunate that Harry Reid himself feels that he needs to resort to ridicule by mocking those who believe they have seen “little green men”. One day, a little green man from outer space may very well use the mass media to make an international address to the planet.

 

Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid defended the $22 million he earmarked to study UFOs when he was in office, saying the nation must keep up with similar programs by rival nations.

“We know that China is doing it,” Reid said of UFO studies. “We know that Russia, which is led by someone within the KGB, is doing it, too, so we better take a look at it, too.”

Appearing Tuesday on “Nevada Newsmakers,” the Nevada Democrat told host Sam Shad that he secured the $22 million to begin the secret Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) in 2007, and the program was funded and supervised by the Pentagon until 2012.

The New York Post has reported the Pentagon’s investigation into sightings of alien spacecraft continues to this day.

“We got a volume of research that was done, $22 million worth of research,” Reid said. “It showed that not two people, four people or six people or 20 people but hundreds of hundreds of people have seen these things, sometimes all at the same time,” he said.

“It is no longer just speculation that people see these unidentified flying objects,” said Reid, who called UFO research a matter of national security.
