Senator Reid Encouraged by Newfound Interest in UFOs

Listen to “e169 Senator Reid Encouraged by Newfound Interest in UFOs” on Spreaker.

Article by George Knapp                         November 4, 2019                          (8newsnow.com)

• When former Nevada Senator Harry Reid was the Majority Leader, he was the go-to guy when it came to UFOs. When Bill Clinton was still president, Reid discussed UFOs with him during a White House visit. Reid told George Knapp that the truth behind UFOs was “something (Bill Clinton) was interested in”. In 2016, Hillary Clinton vowed to open up the Pentagon’s UFO files if elected. The Clintons still seek out Reid for his advice on UFOs.

• Reid had similar conversations with other national figures during his years in the Senate, including Senators Ted Stevens and Daniel Inouye, and former astronaut John Glenn. Knapp, a KLAS-TV Channel 8 reporter in Las Vegas (a CBS-affiliate), asked Reid what specifically John Glenn was interested in about UFOs. Reid said that Glenn remained tight-lipped about the subject, but he was “very interested”. “I didn’t want to push him,” said Reid.

• Bigelow Aerospace was the Nevada contractor who spearheaded Reid’s initial government sponsored UFO study. After that contract ended, Reid, along with Senators Stevens and Inouye appropriated funding for a scaled-down Pentagon UFO program in 2007 called Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, or AATIP. In 2010, Lue Elizondo became the point man for AATIP. Now the Pentagon denies that Elizondo ever worked there.

• UFO critics have pounced on the claim that Elizondo never worked for a Pentagon UFO project. Reid says he’s not surprised. Reid says that there is a fringe group who want to control the UFO narrative, the “so-called conspiratorial folks”. “They go online and try to belittle Elizondo and me and anybody else that is trying to (figure out the UFO stuff) in a scientific way,” says Reid. “Elizondo is a man with a great record serving our country and …he’s not backing off. And I appreciate that very much.”

• Although the Pentagon says AATIP ended in 2012, Reid is informed that the program is ongoing, with greater resources than it had before. And the US Navy has announced that it will encourage UFO encounter reports by pilots, indicating that the subject is no longer taboo. The ongoing wave of media interest has even convinced Reid’s most formidable skeptic – his wife who admitted, “[M]aybe you aren’t crazy after all.”

[Editor’s Note]  I’ll bet that the “conspiratorial folks” are even more nervous about how close Harry Reid is with Deep State toadies like Bill and Hillary Clinton.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Former Nevada Senator Harry Reid says he’s enthusiastic about reaction to a once-secret study of UFOs that Reid and congressional colleagues authorized more than a decade ago.

The last two years have seen an explosion of interest in UFOs among mainstream media, but there’s been push back from conspiracy enthusiasts, and some military officials.

        astronaut and senator John Glenn

When Bill and Hillary Clinton came to Las Vegas in May to speak to a large audience on the Las Vegas Strip, their first stop was the Henderson home of former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. It’s the same path followed by many Democratic politicians and presidential candidates who visit Nevada, seeking guidance from the retired, but still-crafty senator.

Reid and the Clinton”s share an interest in a controversial subject — UFOs. As a presidential candidate in 2016, Hillary Clinton vowed to open up the Pentagon’s UFO files. And when Bill Clinton was still president, Reid asked him about UFOs during one White House visit.

Lue Elizondo

George Knapp: “You discussed it with Bill Clinton. Don’t know if we can talk about this?”

Harry Reid: “Yeah, yeah Bill is, one thing about President Clinton, no one ever said he wasn’t smart. He was and is an extremely intelligent man, and this is something he was interested in.”

Reid was cagey about whether the Clintons discussed UFOs during their recent visit, but told us the subject is definitely on the agenda for their next get together. Reid had similar conversations with other national figures during his years in the senate, including Senators Ted Stevens and Daniel Inouye, who lent their support to the creation of a secret Pentagon study of UFOs, as well as senator and former astronaut John Glenn.

Knapp: “Did he ever give you specifics about why?”
Reid: “Nope, nope, but he, I didn’t want to push him, but he was very interested.”

Harry Reid Happy to Talk UFOs and Science, Not ‘Little Green Men’

Listen to “E26 7-11-19 Harry Reid Happy to Talk UFOs and Science, Not ‘Little Green Men’” on Spreaker.
by Ray Hagar                       June 29, 2019                          (lasvegassun.com)

• On June 25th, former US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev) appeared on “Nevada Newsmakers”, a local Las Vegas radio show and internet podcast. Reid defended the $22 million he earmarked for the Pentagon to study UFOs under the secret Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) from 2007 to 2012. The New York Post reports that the Pentagon’s UFO investigations continue to this day.

• Reid said of UFO studies, “We know that China is doing it… We know that Russia, which is led by someone within the KGB, is doing it, too. So we better take a look at it too.” Reid considers UFO research a matter of national security. He noted that UFOs have been sighted near military installations in South Dakota and elsewhere and that some of the most credible reports have come from military pilots.

• Reid said that the government’s UFO investigations “… showed that not two people, four people or six people or 20 people but hundreds of hundreds of people have seen these things, sometimes all at the same time.” “It is no longer just speculation that people see these unidentified flying objects.”

• Reid said that former US Senator Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, who died in 2010, helped push to fund the research. Ted Stevens told Reid, ‘I’ve wanted to look into (UFOs) since I was in the Army Air Corps.’ ‘I was flying an airplane and there was a vehicle that was right with me and I could not get rid of it. I would go up, down, sideways, whatever. Then I went down to the ground and asked ‘what was that up there?’ And they said they saw nothing.”

• Reid said he was happy to talk about the AATIP program, “as long as we are not talking about little green men. If you want to talk about science, I’m all in.”

[Editor’s Note]  Reid refuses to go all the way and admit to the extraterrestrial presence that the government has been covering up since WWII. He must certainly know much more than he is letting on. But he has to remain credible to the conservative skeptics who go out of their way to ridicule and debunk anything UFO/ET related. This is their game plan, just as it is with Tom DeLonge’s ‘To The Stars Academy’ whose members include some who were involved in the AATIP program, to offer to the public only a “limited hangout” of new information on the presence of extraterrestrial-based UFOs. While most in the UFO community believe that the only real answer is full disclosure, those with government ties seem to feel that the public would freak out if they had all of the facts. This is a current point of debate. But it is unfortunate that Harry Reid himself feels that he needs to resort to ridicule by mocking those who believe they have seen “little green men”. One day, a little green man from outer space may very well use the mass media to make an international address to the planet.

Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid defended the $22 million he earmarked to study UFOs when he was in office, saying the nation must keep up with similar programs by rival nations.

“We know that China is doing it,” Reid said of UFO studies. “We know that Russia, which is led by someone within the KGB, is doing it, too, so we better take a look at it, too.”

Appearing Tuesday on “Nevada Newsmakers,” the Nevada Democrat told host Sam Shad that he secured the $22 million to begin the secret Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) in 2007, and the program was funded and supervised by the Pentagon until 2012.

The New York Post has reported the Pentagon’s investigation into sightings of alien spacecraft continues to this day.

“We got a volume of research that was done, $22 million worth of research,” Reid said. “It showed that not two people, four people or six people or 20 people but hundreds of hundreds of people have seen these things, sometimes all at the same time,” he said.

“It is no longer just speculation that people see these unidentified flying objects,” said Reid, who called UFO research a matter of national security.

Harry Reid Pushing For More UFO Research

by Niels Lesniewski                      January 10, 2019                   (rollcall.com)

• On January 10th, former Nevada Senator and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told KNPR radio that he was scheduled to talk with an important senator about setting up a way for members of the military to support exploring UFO and USO (unidentified submerged objects) sightings without facing retribution. “I personally don’t know if there exists little green men… but I do believe that the information we have indicates we should do a lot more study,” the Nevada Democrat said.

• “What we found in the past is that these pilots, when they see something strange like this, they’re prone not to report it for fear that the bosses will think something’s wrong with them, and they don’t get the promotion,” Reid said. “So, many, many times they don’t say a word to anybody about these strange things.”

• “The facts are, they need a place to be able to report this, and that’s what I’m going to work on in a couple of hours, to make sure that somebody I think’s a powerful member in Congress, I want him to be able to sit down and talk to some of these pilots who have seen these things,” Reid said. “I can arrange this because of the contacts I have with members of the Congress.”

• Although Reid declined to identify the US Senator to whom he referred, Reid’s former deputy, Senate Minority Whip Richard J. Durbin, D-Ill., happens to be the ranking member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.

• Reid recalled how he lobbied the leaders of the Senate Appropriation’s Defense Subcommittee to get money for a Pentagon UFO research project, which the New York Times reported in December 2017. He related how the late Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, was entirely on board because of a suspicious aircraft he cited during his own time as military pilot. “Frankly, I think the federal government has done almost nothing to help us with this,” Reid said.

• In the radio interview, Reid also confirmed his knowledge about a notorious secret base in Nevada. “Oh sure, I’ve been to Area 51. …I know Area 51 quite well. I know what they’ve done there.”

Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is lobbying his former colleagues to do more to study unidentified flying objects.

“I personally don’t know if there exists little green men other places, I kind of doubt that, but I do believe that the information we have indicates we should do a lot more study,” the Nevada Democrat said. “We have hundreds and hundreds of people that have seen the same thing — something in the sky, it moves a certain way.”

Reid said that also included sightings of vessels at sea.

The topic of UFOs was on Reid’s mind Thursday because his interview with KNPR came just before he said he was scheduled to talk with an important senator about setting up a way for members of the military to support exploring suspicious sightings without facing retribution.

       Richard J. Durbin, D-Ill.

“I’m going to have a call with a member of the Senate in an hour or two where we have people in the military who want to come and tell somebody what they’ve seen,” Reid said in the interview, declining to identify who that senator is. (Food for thought: Reid’s former deputy, Senate Minority Whip Richard J. Durbin, D-Ill., is the ranking member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.)

“What we found in the past is that these pilots, when they see something strange like this, they’re prone not to report it for fear that the bosses will think something’s wrong with them, and they don’t get the promotion,” he said. “So, many, many times they don’t say a word to anybody about these strange things.”

“The facts are, they need a place to be able to report this, and that’s what I’m going to work on in a couple of hours, to make sure that somebody I think’s a powerful member in Congress, I want him to be able to sit down and talk to some of these pilots who have seen these things,” Reid said. “I can arrange this because of the contacts I have with members of the Congress.”

Back in December 2017, the New York Times reported on a Pentagon program to study UFO sightings that came about because of Reid’s advocacy back when he was serving in the Senate.
