Red-Flashing UFOs Seen Swarming USS Omaha in Newly Leaked Video Footage

• Early last month, filmmaker Jeremy Corbell leaked a video taken in July 2019 on the littoral combat ship USS Omaha of a spherical UFO hovering and then submersing under water. (see 1:39 minute video below) Then later in June, Corbell leaked another video of a radar image on the USS Omaha of at least 14 UFO surrounding the ship at night in July 2019. (see 45 second video and more comprehensive 27:26 minute video below). Now, to continue the USS Omaha series, Corbell has released a night-time video of red-flashing UFOs buzzing the Navy ship off of the cost of Southern California in July 2019. (see 4:19 minute video below)

• The newly leaked footage was apparently taken by on-board ‘VIPER’ TEAM (Visual Intelligence Personnel) on July 15, 2019, from the deck of the USS Omaha between 9 pm and 11 pm PST, according to Corbell. The footage was reportedly taken while the ship was in a “restricted warning area off San Diego.”

• The UFOs with flashing red lights traveled at speeds of 46 mph to 158 mph. “The most impressive evidence we witnessed was their endurance,” a USS Omaha crewman said. “The event lasted over an hour with all contacts just disappearing. We were never able to discern where they departed to.” “In the end I’m 50/50 that it is man-made tech from somewhere,” the crewman said. “Either way it’s world changing. Because of the incredible energy capacity of the crafts.”

• “These UFOs were NOT inconspicuous,” writes Corbell. “[T]hey were brazen; boldly buzzing our warships. To many involved, it stands to reason that the UFOs (their operators) WANTED to be seen and recorded.” The red-flashing UFO sighting ended with one of the UFOs crashing into the water, but no wreckage was found despite at least one U.S. Navy submarine searching for the vanishing craft.

Female Fighter Pilot Who Saw the Tic Tac UFO

• Lt. Cmdr. Alex Dietrich of Annapolis, Maryland is a retired US Navy fighter pilot, a mother of three, and a popular guest at the Pentagon and Capitol Hill being questioned about the day in 2004 that she saw the ‘Tic Tac’ UFO from the seat of her Super Hornet fighter jet in the skies near San Diego. “My life right now is very surreal,” said Dietrich, 41. Her testimony has been in high demand since the President signed into law a bill requesting the director of national intelligence and the secretary of defense to provide a declassified report on everything the government knows about UFOs/UAPs. It is due to be released in June.

• On November 14, 2004, Dietrich was a newly winged pilot on a regular training flight with the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group over the ocean off of San Diego when something moving fast and erratically came into view. Her boss, Commander Dave Fravor, told her to hang back and be his wingman while he flew closer in to check it out. The object began mirroring his movements and then just disappeared. A video recording from that day captured a white object shaped like a Tic Tac, along with the howls and exclamations of the pilots who were tracking it. The video was released by ‘To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science’ in 2017, and the video gained a lot of traction after the Pentagon verified its authenticity.

• As soon as the pilots returned to their aircraft carrier that day, they reported everything they saw and how it happened. “We all collectively lost our minds,” said Dietrich. “There was no denying it, everybody had heard us on the radio.” Even the technicians back at the ship saw the object on their radar. In the days after the UFO sighting, Fravor and Dietrich’s colleagues were merciless. They looped alien-invader movies “Men in Black” and “Independence Day” to show on the ship’s channels. They left tinfoil hats all over the place. The daily newsletters had little green men cartoons. They had to laugh it off, saying that if she and her fellow pilots had been flying solo, “… we wouldn’t have said anything”.

• Dietrich has kept a low profile over the past 17 years, flying more than 200 combat missions and 57 mounted combat patrols and ground assault convoy missions over two deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. More recently, Dietrich has been teaching at George Washington University and at the U.S. Naval Academy. “People have found me throughout the years,” she said. “I just was an eyewitness to something in the course of my normal duties . . . that somehow makes me a portal.” She is a hero to the believers and she listens patiently to debunkers who found her private number and screamed at her over the phone.

• When asked why she has agreed to talk to reporters including her recent appearance in a UFO segment on CBS’ 60 Minutes, says, “I do feel a duty and obligation. I was in a taxpayer-funded aircraft, doing my job as a military officer. Citizens have questions. It’s not classified. If I can share or help give a reasonable response, I will. I don’t want to be someone who’s saying ‘no comment.’” Dietrich has decided to be open about it now because she knows other pilots have seen similar UFOs but have kept quiet – afraid of the conspiracy realm stigma.

• Dietrich is also keeping busy with her three kids, ages 2, 4 and 6. One of them was the hit of that day’s pre-K show-and-tell when he brought in the red-and-white helmet Dietrich was wearing that November day in 2004. Another was commanding her from the back seat during the telephone interview: “Window open!” followed by a chorus of squeals and shrieks from the back seat. “No, I [don’t] have time to think about it too much,” she sighed. “But I will pay someone to abduct me right now.”

in the back seat — and raced to her home near Annapolis for family dinnertime. In between, she answered questions about the UFO.

“My life right now is very surreal,” said Lt. Cmdr. Alex Dietrich, who is a 41-year-old mother of three, a retired fighter pilot and one of the few people who gets regularly hauled into the Pentagon or before Congress for further questioning about the day in 2004 she saw a UFO — the Pentagon prefers to call them unidentified aerial phenomena — from the seat of her Super Hornet in the skies near San Diego.

Dietrich is pragmatic, forthright and has a swaggery, pilot’s sense of humor about this thing she’s been living with for nearly 17 years.

Thanks to a bizarro little line in last year’s coronavirus relief bill, the director of national intelligence and the secretary of defense are ordered to generate a report on everything the government knows about UAPs — including Dietrich’s sighting. It’s coming next month, and it’s going to be D.C.’s hottest summer read.

And now that UFOs join the pandemic and insurrection on the congressional agenda (when it comes to the weird year contest, 2021 is telling 2020 to “hold my beer”), Dietrich’s callers have moved from mostly the fringe, stalkery UFO fanatics who just want to be near her, to mainstream media freaks like me. She patiently plays along.

“I do feel a duty and obligation,” Dietrich said, when I asked her why she took my call and why she agreed to talk to “60 Minutes,” her national media debut. “I was in a taxpayer-funded aircraft, doing my job as a military officer,” she said. “Citizens have questions. Former Navy Pilot Recalls Seeing UFOs Daily Off of Virginia Beach

• On May 16th, former Navy pilot Lt. Ryan Graves told CBS’s Bill Whitaker on “60 Minutes” that he would see UFOs flying in restricted airspace off the coast of Virginia nearly every day for two years beginning in 2019. ”[I]f these were tactical jets from another country that were hanging out up there, it would be a massive issue,” Graves said. “But because it looks slightly different, we’re not willing to actually look at the problem in the face. We’re happy to just ignore the fact that these are out there, watching us every day.” (see a video clip of Graves on ’60 Minutes’ and the full interview below)

• Navy pilots who have seen the UFOs believe they could be a secret US technology, enemy surveillance devices, or something entirely different, said Graves. “This is a difficult one to explain. You have rotation, you have high altitudes. You have propulsion… I don’t know what it is, frankly.” Graves considers the UFOs like ones seen in a Pentagon-confirmed Navy video near San Diego and the ones he’s witnessed off of Virginia Beach a security threat. “I would say…the highest probability is it’s a threat observation program,” Graves said.

• The former head of the Pentagon’s UFO threat identification program Luis Elizondo concurs with Graves. “Imagine a technology that can do 600 to 700 G-forces, that can fly 13,000 miles an hour, that, that can evade radar and can fly through air and water and possibly space, and oh, by the way, has no obvious signs of propulsion, no wings, no control surfaces and yet still can defy the natural effects of Earth’s gravity,” says Elizondo. “That’s precisely what we’re seeing,”.

Former Lt. Ryan Graves told CBS’s “60 Minutes” that the unidentified objects — like ones seen in a Pentagon-confirmed Navy video near San Diego — are a security threat.

The latest firsthand account comes a month ahead of a report by the national intelligence director and secretary of defense on unidentified aerial phenomena, a measure that was including in a COVID-19 relief bill passed in December.

US Navy Destroyers Swarmed by Mysterious ‘Drones’ Off California in 2019

• On July 14, 2019, a group of US Navy ships were conducting exercises about 100 miles off Los Angeles, near San Clemente island, and south of the Channel Islands off of Ventura/Santa Barbara. Around 10:00 pm, the US Navy destroyer, the USS Kidd logged the sighting of two “UAVs” or ‘unmanned aerial vehicles’, more commonly referred to as a ‘drones’. In addition to utilizing some of the most sophisticated sensors on Earth, a “SNOOPIE team” – or ‘Ship Nautical Or Otherwise Photographic Interpretation and Exploitation’ team, ie: a group of sailors with consumer-grade cameras – was deployed to track and record the UAV drones.

• Ten minutes after the initial sighting, the USS Kidd advised the USS Rafael Peralta of the situation, and the second destroyer activated its own SNOOPIE team. Reports of additional sightings were coming in from a third destroyer, the USS John Finn. The USS Rafael Peralta described a ‘white light’ hovering over the destroyer’s helicopter landing pad, matching the ship’s speed at 16 knots (about 18 mph) as it operated in low visibility weather conditions and at night. This continued for over 90 minutes—significantly longer than what commercially available drones can sustain.

• As this was going on, the civilian bulk carrier Bass Strait was situated towards the northern edge of the encounter area. A Liberian-flagged oil tanker, the Sigma Triumph, was just south of the position of the three destroyers. And the 50-foot catamaran, the ORV Alguita, was just off the western tip of San Clemente Island.

• On the following night, July 15th, 2019, the USS Rafael Peralta spotted the drones again at 8:39 pm. By 9:00 pm, the USS Kidd also spotted the drones. This time, the ships were located further south and closer to shore, between San Diego and San Clemente Island. The drones seem to pursue the ships as they maneuvered. By 9:20 pm, the USS Kidd log reads: “Multiple UAVs around ship”.

• At 9:37 pm, the command was issued to man Mark 87 stations – the Mk20 Electro-Optical Sighting System (EOSS) located above the bridge, which provides surveillance and tracking over long distances. At about the same time, logs from the Navy destroyer USS Russell describe the drones dropping in elevation, and apparently moving forward and backward, left and right.

• Meanwhile, the USS Rafael Peralta received a radio call from a passing cruise ship, the Carnival Imagination, notifying the Navy that the drones were not theirs, but they could see as many as five or six drones maneuvering nearby. The incident continued into the night, with the USS Rafael Peralta recording two drones, and then four drones near their own ship. This continued for nearly three hours, but none of the warships were able to identify the drones.

• A formal investigation appears to have been launched on July 17th. By the morning of July 18th, a Navy liaison to the Coast Guard and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) assigned to 3rd Fleet got involved. Their findings would go directly to the commander of the Pacific Fleet and to the Chief of Naval Operations. The initial focus of their investigation was the 50-foot catamaran, the ORV Alguita. While the ORV Alguita did have drones onboard, they were small quadcopter drones with a maximum flight time of 28 minutes and incapable of operating more than a few feet from the ship. Also, they were not operating at the time of the incident. Navy investigators conceded that they needed to keep looking.

• Next, Navy intelligence and the director of the Maritime Intelligence Operations Center sought to rule out the possibility that the drones were operated by the Navy itself. A representative from the Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility based in San Diego clarified that UAV drones were only operated by the Navy in certain limited areas. By the afternoon of July 23rd, the investigators were still grappling with the intent behind the incidents.

• Remarkably, the USS Kidd detected the drones again in the early hours of July 25th and July 30th. Further information continues to emerge from The Drive’s FOIA requests, but based on the available evidence it appears that the initial investigation did not ultimately identify the source of the drones. It remains uncertain if other ships also continued to have drone encounters in July.

• It is unclear why anyone would operate drones near Navy warships in such a brazen manner. Commercially available drones are not usually capable of flying for such long durations across great distances at relatively high speeds. It is estimated that the drones traversed at least 100 nautical miles during the July 14th incident. The drones were able to locate and catch a destroyer traveling at 16 knots in conditions with less than one nautical mile of visibility. Equally baffling, their operators appear to have coordinated at least five to six drones simultaneously.

• Is it possible that the drones were operated from the Navy’s nearby training area on San Clemente Island in an errant test of some kind? No UAV activity was scheduled during July 14th. If there were classified drone exercises, why would the incursions continue after an investigation that reached the highest level of the Navy hierarchy? This is the same area where the ‘Tic Tac’ UFO (and the ‘fleet’ of them according to a Navy pilot’s remark) was seen in 2004.

• If the drones were not operated by the American military, these incidents represent a highly significant security breach. If they were part of some kind of covert action, it is nonetheless unclear why they were flown so openly and so frequently in almost a harassing manner. More troubling still, if a foreign state actor was involved, where exactly were the drones launched from? And was there ever a hard description of these craft beyond ‘lights in the sky’?

In July of 2019, a truly bizarre series of events unfolded around California’s Channel Islands. Over a number of days, groups of unidentified aircraft, which the U.S. Navy simply refers to as ‘drones’ or ‘UAVs,’ pursued that service’s vessels, prompting a high-level investigation.

During the evening encounters, as many as six aircraft were reported swarming around the ships at once. The drones were described as flying for prolonged periods in low-visibility conditions, and performing brazen maneuvers over the Navy warships near a sensitive military

training range less than 100 miles off Los Angeles. The ensuing investigation included elements of the Navy, Coast Guard, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The incidents received major attention, including from the Chief of Naval Operations—the apex of the Navy’s chain of command.

The following is our own investigation into these events, during which we discovered these events were far more extensive in scale than previously understood.

A Strange Story Emerges

Last year, documentary filmmaker Dave Beaty uncovered initial details about the events, centering on the Arleigh Burke class destroyer USS Kidd (DDG-100). That initial account described a tense encounter, culminating in the deployment of onboard intelligence teams.

New documents significantly expand the public’s knowledge of the scope and severity of that incident and reveal others that occurred around the same time. These details come largely from our Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, which resulted in the disclosure of deck logs from the ships involved. Additionally, our investigation utilized hundreds of gigabytes of automatic identification system (AIS) ship location data to forensically reconstruct the position of both military and civilian ships in the area during this strange series of events.

By using the USS Kidd’s position as a starting point, we were able to identify several other ships in close proximity to it during the incidents in question, including U.S. Navy destroyers USS Rafael Peralta, USS Russell, USS John Finn, and the USS Paul Hamilton. Subsequent FOIA requests for these ships’ records allowed us to build a composite picture of the events as a whole.

• Jason Turner (pictured above) was a Petty Officer on the USS Princeton in the USS Nimitz carrier group when fighter jets from Nimitz encountered a ‘tic tac’ UFO off the coast of San Diego in 2004. Cockpit footage of the encounter was released in 2017. Despite being grainy, the video has gone on to become one of the most widely-cited clips that conspiracy theorists use to prove the existence of UFOs. (see 2:45 minute video below) Turner says that he has seen a much clearer, unreleased version of the ‘tic tac’ UFO video which shows the craft having legs protruding from it.

• “The quality [of the unreleased video] was very clear,” Turner told Dave Beaty of The Nimitz Encounters YouTube channel. “What the [fuzzy and grainy] video you see now is just a small snippet. You’re seeing small turns left and right but this thing is so much more than what you see in this video.” “It was always really clear but what you see now is, hardly identifiable.” (see 15:09 minute video of Beaty’s interview with Jason Turner below)

• Turner goes on to describe the UFO: “The shape of it [was odd] as it had some protruding objects at the bottom of it. I couldn’t tell if they were curled back or straight down because I was a good five or ten feet from the feed.” “But there were definitely legs on it. It was oblong, like a tic-tac.”

• Turner says that he had “never seen anything like it”. “[I]f there are things that are far superior to us and our capabilities… It puts everybody at risk – our military, our people, our homeland.” Several other witnesses of the UFO have come out since the initial revelations in 2017.

A US Navy officer who witnessed the USS Nimitz UFO encounter has revealed the object had mysterious legs protruding from it, in a clearer video not released to the public.

Jason Turner was a Petty Officer on the USS Princeton when fighter jets from nearby ship USS Nimitz encountered a strange object off the coast of San Diego, California, US, in 2004.

Footage of the incident was released in 2017 and showed how the tic-tac-shaped “craft” was able to pull off otherworldly manoeuvres.

Despite being grainy, the video has gone on to become one of the most widely-cited clips that conspiracy theorists use to prove the existence of UFOs.

But Jason has now said there is an even clearer video out there which shows the craft in a whole new light.

“What the video you see now is just a small snippet,” he told Dave Beaty of The Nimitz Encounters.

“You’re seeing small turns left and right but this thing is so much more than what you see in this video.

• Kevin Day, now retired, was the US Navy Senior Chief Operations Specialist who served as a radar operator on the USS Princeton, part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group that encountered the “Tic Tac”-shaped UFO during exercises off of San Diego in November 2004.

• During a recent interview on the “Truth Be Told” podcast (see below for the full interview), Day says that radar detection of the UFO group (the Tic Tac UFO was a part of a group of UFOs flying in formation) was made possible by an upgrade to the warships’ spyware. Day told the Daily Star, “There had been a top-secret upgrade of our system. …They upgraded our cooperative engagement capability and did some tweaking on our spy radar and the way that it all works. I think because of these upgrades we were suddenly able to see things that had always been there.”

• Day hypothesized that the older radar detection systems were simply unable to spot UFOs, which would explain why “everyone is seeing them” now, once the radar upgrade was introduced “fleet-wide.” Day mused that these UFOs might’ve been around for quite some time before the Nimitz incident.

• When the podcast’s host asked Day whether he thinks that the object they encountered back then was an extraterrestrial craft, Day said yes. “This was non-Newtonian, it was non-classical physics we’re seeing so it had to be something,” said Day. “What other explanations are there?”

 

It appears that the infamous encounter of an unidentified “Tic Tac”-shaped object by the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group was made possible due to a certain upgrade introduced to the warships’ spyware, according the recent revelations made by a retired US Navy Senior Chief Operations Specialist named Kevin Day.

• Recent public appearances by former U.S. Navy Commander David Fravor, the pilot who first encountered the “Tic Tac” UFO off of the coast of San Diego in November 2004, has brought up the subject of ‘Unidentified Submerged Objects’ or ‘USOs’. Whether optical illusions, mechanical malfunctions, secret government craft, or extraterrestrials – there’s a long history of USO sightings.

• In a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Fravor related a story that a fellow retired Navy helicopter pilot told him. This fellow was based at Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. While recovering spent practice munitions from the water, the helicopter pilot twice spotted USOs. In the first incident, the pilot saw a “dark mass” underwater, described as big and “kinda circular”. He was certain it wasn’t a submarine. In the Navy helicopter pilot’s second incident, a practice torpedo that the pilot was sent to recover was “sucked down” into the depths of the ocean in the presence of a similar underwater object, never to be seen again.

• Fravor also says that a 79-year-old woman contacted him and told him that her father was a naval officer based at the naval station in San Francisco in the 1950s. When she was a child, her father showed her a telegram that stated unidentified objects had been seen going in and out of the water at a certain location. Her father told her, “We get these all the time, and it’s always in the same area.”

• This topic came up in the conversation because Fravor himself witnessed a USO on the day he was chasing the Tic Tac UFO off of San Diego. In fact, the only reason he noticed the Tic Tac UFO was because it was hovering over a large mysterious object sighted underwater. Fravor described the object as cross shaped and approximately the size of a Boeing 737 jetliner. He described the water above it as though it were “boiling” or “frothing,” and said the USO disappeared after it caught his attention.

• As covered in Ivan Sanderson’s 1970 book: Invisible Residents, devoted to USO sightings, on April 19, 1957, crew members aboard the Japanese fishing boat Kitsukawa Maru spotted two metallic silvery objects descending from the sky into the sea. The objects were estimated to be ten meters long, without wings of any kind, and violently hit the water.

• In 1963, during an anti-submarine warfare exercise off of Puerto Rico with the USS Wasp carrier group, a submarine broke off from the formation to pursue a USO. Sonar operators on one of the smaller vessels followed the chase. The operators wondered whether the USO may have been planted there by the Navy as part of the exercise, except that the object was traveling at over 150 knots (e.g.: about 175 miles per hour; modern Naval submarines can travel at 40 knots maximum) “[N]o less than [thirteen] craft,” including anti-submarine warfare patrol aircraft, tracked the high-speed [USO]” to depths of 27,000 feet. Technicians kept track of this object for four days.

• In 2007, a guest on a cruise ship off of California reported to the National UFO Reporting Center seeing three “nearly spherical objects” “evenly spaced” and “softly glowing” hovering just above the ocean surface as the ship passed by them. As she watched the objects, one of them “splashed down into the water and disappeared.”

• Another NUFORC report from April 2019 stated that an object resembling a “small white boat” flew up out of the ocean near Imperial Beach, California, and promptly “flew south at a very high rate of speed.”

 

This past weekend, former U.S. Navy Commander David Fravor was a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Fravor, who was the subject of a New York Times article about his 2004 UFO sighting, discussed a spooky new sighting a fellow pilot revealed to him after they were both out of the Navy.

According to Fravor, the eyewitness was a former pilot of the MH-53E Sea Dragon, the Navy version of the Marine Corps’ CH-53E Sea Stallion, based at Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, on the island of Puerto Rico. Twice while recovering spent practice munitions out of the water, the pilot spotted a weird underwater object.

In the first incident, the pilot saw a “dark mass” underwater as he and his team retrieved a flying practice drone. The pilot described the object as a “big” mass, “kinda circular,” and he was certain it wasn’t a submarine. In the pilot’s second sighting, a practice torpedo that the pilot was sent to recover was “sucked down” into the depths of the ocean in the presence of a similar underwater object. The torpedo was never seen again.

Elsewhere in the interview, Fravor reveals that a 79-year-old woman contacted him after his sighting went public. The woman explained that her father, a naval officer, was at one time based at the naval station in San Francisco in the 1950s. When she was a child, her father showed her a telegram that stated unidentified objects had been sighted going in and out of the water at a now forgotten set of latitude and longitude coordinates. The woman’s father told her, “We get these all the time, and it’s always in the same area.”

These sightings are similar to Fravor’s own sighting. According to the retired Navy pilot, the only reason he had seen the now-infamous “Tic Tac” UFO was because it was hovering above a mysterious larger object that was sighted underwater. Fravor describes the object as cross shaped and approximately the size of a Boeing 737 jetliner. He has further described the water above it as though it were “boiling” or “frothing,” and said the object disappeared after it caught his attention.
In 1970, biologist Ivan Sanderson published the book Invisible Residents. Sanderson, a noted student of unusual phenomena, devoted the book to sightings of what were later called Unidentified Submerged Objects, or USOs. USOs are defined as unknown craft that are sighted in the water, sighted rising up out of the water, or diving into the water. Sanderson catalogued scores of reports of USOs:

On the 19th of April, 1957, crew members aboard the Kitsukawa Maru, a Japanese fishing boat, spotted two metallic silvery objects descending from the sky into the sea (original emphasis). The objects, estimated to be ten meters long, were without wings of any kind. As the hit the water, they created a violent turbulence. The exact location was reported as 31° 15’ N and 143° 30’ E.

• Retired Navy Commander David Fravor, who was one of the fighter pilots who chased a ‘Tic Tac UFO’ off of San Diego in 2004, was on the Joe Rogan podcast show on October 6th giving more details about the remarkable encounter for nearly two hours. (see 1:54:25 video below) Rogan and Fravor were joined by Jeremy Corbell, the filmmaker who recently released a documentary about Bob Lazar of Area 51 fame.

• Among the interesting details, Fravor said that pilots in multiple encounters with UFOs on both the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts report that the UFOs are blocking their state-of-the-art radar systems making it impossible to get a lock on them. This is proof that some sort of intelligent source is controlling these UFOs. Fravor noted that in his 2004 encounter with the Tic Tac UFO, his F/A-18F Super Hornet jet was not equipped with live missiles, but only a 20 mm rotary cannon.

• Fravor also reveals that he has personally been summoned to Washington multiple times this year for private, confidential meetings with “high ranking government officials,” and government investigations into these incidents are far from over.

• At the 49-minute mark in the interview, Fravor tells a story about how he and other Navy pilots would occasionally pretend to be UFO’s for campers in remote parts of southern California. Said Fravor, “We used to fly night vision goggles… [and] you can see a campfire from like fifty miles away. So we would go out at night flying around on goggles. You’d see a campfire and go, ‘Oh. UFO time’”. “[Y]ou get the airplane going around 600 knots and then you pull the power back to idle so you can’t hear it. Then you get zinging toward the fire and you turn the lights all down because we’re in a restricted area so you can do that. There’s lights on it you can only see if you’re on vision goggles. So the other airplanes can see us, but no one else can see us. Then you go zinging at it and right when you get to the campfire you pull the airplane into vertical and stroke the afterburners, let ’em light off, you count to three and then you just go away. Instant UFO reporting.” How many MUFON reports from campers in the Superstition Mountains near El Centro California have just been debunked?

 

By this time you may already be familiar with Cmdr. David Fravor (US Navy, retired) as the fighter pilot who engaged what’s come to be known as the white Tic-Tac UFO back in 2004, leading to one of the remarkable videos released by the Pentagon over the past couple of years. He’s given a number of interviews to various mainstream news outlets recently, talking about his remarkable experience. But yesterday he showed up on the Joe Rogan show for a nearly two-hour discussion and it turned into a serious deep dive. I’ll embed the full video of the interview below, but first I wanted to cover a few of the highlights. (The entire show is worth your time, however, even if you’re already familiar with the story. Fravor goes into a lot of details we hadn’t heard before.)

Also on the show was filmmaker Jeremy Corbell, who recently released a movie about Bob Lazar. (Ugh.) He briefly derails the conversation a couple of times talking about Lazar and some Ancient Aliens type stuff, but also adds in several good details about the recent revelations.

Sometimes when people go on Rogan’s show it turns out to be something of a disaster. Just ask Elon Musk or Tom DeLonge. Joe has a way of dragging them down various rabbit holes or getting them to engage in antics that wind up being embarrassing. That didn’t happen with Fravor, who maintained an air of cool professionalism throughout. (Well, there’s one possible exception I’ll get to in a moment.) But here are some of the highlights.

One detail he revealed early in the interview while describing the Tic-Tac encounter was that his F/A-18F Super Hornet was not equipped with any live missiles. Dummy loads were installed because they were scheduled to go on a training mission. This would have presumably left him with nothing more than his 20 mm rotary cannon if things had gotten tense with the unidentified craft.

Another fascinating detail he included was that during multiple encounters with the Tic-Tacs on both coasts, pilots were able to determine that the objects were actively blocking their radar systems, making it impossible to get a lock on them. And we’re talking about one of the newest, best radar systems in the world. This is interesting because it at least implies an actively engaged, intelligent force controlling the Tic-Tacs. (Whether that’s local or remote, biological or AI-driven we don’t know.)

• The US Navy has confirmed that, while they should never been released to the public, the three online videos taken by Navy pilots of UFOs: the “FLIR1” (aka “Tic Tac”), “Gimbal”, and “GoFast”, are indeed genuine.

• (The “FLIR1”/ “Tic Tac” video was taken November 14, 2004 over the Pacific Ocean off of the coast of San Diego. The “GoFast” video was taken January 21, 2015 over the Atlantic Ocean off of Virginia, and the “Gimbal” video was taken January 21, 2015 over the Atlantic Ocean off of Florida.) In the videos, air crews debate what the objects are and where they came from.

• The videos were released by The New York Times and ‘To The Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences’, a UFO research group headed by former Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge.

• In each case, the UFOs (or ‘UAPs’ – ‘unidentified aerial phenomenon’) undertook aerial maneuvers that aren’t possible with current aviation technology. In the 2004 incident, according to The New York Times article, the ‘Tic Tac UFO’ “appeared suddenly at 80,000 feet, and then hurtled toward the sea, eventually stopping at 20,000 feet and hovering. Then they either dropped out of radar range or shot straight back up.”

• The Department of Defense told The Black Vault website that the videos were unclassified but never cleared for public release, and that there had been no review process within the Pentagon for releasing them. The Pentagon now says the aerial objects in the videos are simply unidentified, and for now, unexplained. The Navy is pointedly not saying the objects are flying saucers or otherwise controlled by aliens.

The U.S. Navy has confirmed that three online videos purportedly showing UFOs are genuine. The service says the videos, taken by Navy pilots, show “unexplained aerial phenomena,” but also states that the clips should have never been released to the public in the first place.

The three videos in question are titled “FLIR1,” “Gimbal,” and “GoFast.” They show two separate encounters between Navy aircraft and UFOs.

One video was taken in 2015 off the East Coast by a F/A-18F fighter jet using the aircraft’s onboard Raytheon AN/ASQ-228 Advanced Targeting Forward-Looking Infrared (ATFLIR) Pod. The other clip, also recorded with a Super Hornet ATFLIR pod, was taken off the coast of California in 2004 by pilots flying from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. In the videos, air crews loudly debate what the objects are and where they came from.

The videos were released for public viewing by The New York Times and To The Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences, a UFO research group from former Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge.

In each case, the objects in the videos undertook aerial maneuvers that aren’t possible with current aviation technology. • Former high-ranking US defense and intelligence officials, aerospace-industry veterans, academics and others associated with ‘To the Stars Academy of Arts & Science’ are asking: ‘why are so many UFOs being reported near nuclear facilities—and why isn’t there more urgency on the part of the government to assess their potential national-security threat?’ Their investigations are the subject of HISTORY’s limited series “Unidentified.”

• In the past century, more than a few UFO sightings have been reported in military contexts. In late World War II, U.S. airmen called the bright orange UFOs flying along the French-German border “foo fighters”. During the Korean War, soldiers claimed that a blue-green light emitting “pulsing rays” made their whole battalion sick with radiation poisoning.

• In the last 75 years, high-ranking U.S. military and intelligence personnel have also reported UFOs near sites associated with nuclear power, weaponry and technology—from the early atomic-bomb development and test sites of the past to active nuclear naval fleets in the present. “All of the nuclear facilities—Los Alamos, Livermore, Sandia, Savannah River—all had dramatic incidents where these unknown craft appeared over the facilities and nobody knew where they were from or what they were doing there,” said investigative journalist George Knapp.

• “There seems to be a lot of correlation there,” says Lue Elizondo, who from 2007 to 2012 served as director of the Pentagon UFO study program called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program.

• Robert Hastings, a UFO researcher and author of the book: UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites, says that ‘Nuclear-adjacent’ sightings go back decades. Witnesses to these incidents are often highly trained personnel with top security clearances. In recent years, their reports are being corroborated by sophisticated technology.

• In late 1948, “green fireballs” were reported in the skies near atomic laboratories in Los Alamos and Sandia, New Mexico, where the atomic bomb was first developed and tested. A declassified FBI document from 1950 mentions “flying saucers” measuring almost 50 feet in diameter near the Los Alamos labs. Over a dozen workers from the Nevada desert atomic test site told Knapp that UFO activity was commonplace.

• In the 1960s and ’70s, repeated UFO sightings emerged at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, a storage site for nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles. At one such sighting in 1967, former Air Force Capt. Robert Salas reported several of those missiles becoming inoperative, or “unlaunchable”, at the same time that base security reported seeing a glowing red object, about 30 feet in diameter, hovering over the facility.

• In December 1980, the US Air Force secretly housed nuclear weapons in 25 fortified bunkers beneath the Royal Air Force base at Bentwaters in Suffolk, England. USAF master sergeant Ivan Barker saw an object on radar having remarkable speed and maneuverability, covering 120 miles in a matter of seconds. He looked out of the window and saw a craft hovering over a water tower. “It was between about 1,500 and 2,000 feet high. The thing was…at least a city block…in diameter,” said Barker. Barker says it was shaped like a giant basketball, with portholes around the center, from which lights were emanating outward. “I was shocked… There was nothing aerodynamic about it. Basketballs don’t fly.” Then in a second it was gone. But Barker didn’t report the sighting to his superiors. “You don’t understand what the Air Force did to people who reported UFOs,” he said.

• Colonel Charles Halt was the deputy commander at RAF Bentwaters that night. Halt led a patrol to investigate the strange colorful lights seen descending into the nearby Rendlesham Forest. He saw a red light moving horizontally though the trees, “obviously under some kind of intelligent control.” A laser-like beam, he said, “landed 10-15 feet away from us. I was literally in shock.” Then the object flew north towards the base. Says Halt, “We could hear chatter on the radios that the beams went down into the weapons storage area.” The Air Force generals closed the case without investigation.

• In recent years, the US Navy has reported several UFO encounters off of both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Navy F-18 fighter pilots saw UFOs almost daily for several months between the summer of 2014 and the spring of 2015 along the Eastern seaboard between Virginia and Florida. “Wherever we were, they were there,” said Ryan Graves, an F-18 fighter pilot who holds a degree in aerospace engineering. The objects appeared in three shapes, Graves says—some were discs, others looked like a cube inside a sphere, while smaller round objects flew together in formation. All lacked visible engines or exhaust systems. Some tilted, mid-flight, like spinning tops, as seen in cockpit video. One UFO almost caused a collision by zipping dangerously between two jets. Graves said that the UFOs also appeared in the Persian Gulf.

• In November 2004, Navy pilots and radar operators from the USS Nimitz carrier fleet saw a 40-foot long tic-tac shaped object flying just above the ocean, 100 miles off the coast of California near San Diego. When F-18 fighter jets were scrambled to approach the object, it accelerated and easily outran the supersonic Navy craft.

• Chris Mellon, former US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence said that a carrier battle group being shadowed by UFOs all the way across the Atlantic to the Middle East “makes an extremely compelling case for the existence of technologies we didn’t think were possible.”

• There is an increasing openness in the Pentagon and on Capitol Hill to taking these sightings seriously as potential threats. In April 2019, the US Navy announced that it was updating its guidelines for how pilots and personnel should report unexplained aerial phenomena—making it easier for military members to report sightings to superiors without facing stigma and backlash. And now Congress has taken more interest in these UFO briefings.

• George Knapp says there is more UFO activity now than he has seen in three decades. Knapp notes that personnel at the military facilities, bases, ships and submarines where nuclear weapons are built, tested and deployed “have seen these things”. “Are they all crazy?”

 

Why are so many UFOs being reported near nuclear facilities—and why isn’t there more urgency on the part of the government to assess their potential national-security threat?

Those are questions being asked by a team of high-ranking former U.S. defense and intelligence officials, aerospace-industry veterans, academics and others associated with To the Stars Academy of Arts & Science. The team has been investigating a wide range of these sightings—and advocating more serious government attention.

Their investigations are the subject of HISTORY’s limited series “Unidentified.”

Throughout history, unexplained aerial phenomena (UAPs) have shocked, frightened and fascinated sky watchers. And in the last century, more than a few have been reported in military contexts. Knapp has gathered documentation by filing Freedom of Information Act requests to the departments of defense and energy.

“There seems to be a lot of correlation there,” says Lue Elizondo, who from 2007 to 2012 served as director of a covert team of UAP researchers operating inside the Department of Defense. The program, called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), received $22 million of the Pentagon’s $600 billion budget in 2012, The New York Times reported. Elizondo now helps lead To the Stars’ investigations.

The UFO-nuclear Connection Began at the Dawn of the Atomic Age.

Nuclear-adjacent sightings go back decades, says Robert Hastings, a UFO researcher and author of the book UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites. Hastings says he’s interviewed more than 160 veterans who have witnessed strange things in the skies around nuclear sites.

“You have objects being tracked on radar performing at speeds that no object on earth can perform,” Hastings says. “You have eyewitness [military] personnel. You have jet pilots.” Witnesses to these incidents are often highly trained personnel with top security clearances. In recent years, their reports are being corroborated by sophisticated technology.

UFOs Are Real, But Don’t Assume They’re Alien Spaceships

• Seth Shostak (pictured above) is the senior astronomer at the SETI Institute (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) in Mountain View, California. His job is to listen for signals from intelligent extraterrestrial sources in space.

• Shostak contends that, even though US Navy pilots have come forward to describe witnessing UFOs reaching hypersonic speeds without any detectable exhaust plumes, suggesting super-advanced propulsion technology, Defense Department officials aren’t invoking intelligent aliens as an explanation, and neither is Shostak. ‘UFOs are very real, as we have recently seen – but that doesn’t mean ET has been violating our airspace,” said Shostak.

• US Navy pilots and the DoD have provided video evidence of fast moving UFOs off of the coast of San Diego in 2004 (i.e.: the “Tic Tac UFO”) and more recently off of the Virginia and Florida coasts. In one case, a UFO nearly collided with a Navy jet off the Virginia coast. The Pentagon’s ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’ (AATIP) has studied these incidents, and others (including UFO propulsion technology) since at least 2007. Such incidents have become so common that the Navy has enacted a new policy for reporting UFOs.

• Shostak argues against jumping to the ET conclusion, however. And he offers several “common sense” reasons why: First, these Navy sightings are all off of the coast of the continental US. Isn’t this exactly where you might expect to find advanced Russian reconnaissance craft?

• Second, the Navy pilots’ radar equipment had been upgraded. “[W]henever you upgrade any technical product, there are always problems,” says Shostak. Therefore, the sightings might stem from some sort of software bug or instrument issue.

• Third, it is ridiculous to imagine that alien spacecraft would cross vast gulfs of space and time to come here, and then to not offer their assistance, or pilfer our natural resources, or even show themselves. “[T]hey never do anything,” Shostak said.

• But Shostak is quick not to dismiss the existence of extraterrestrials altogether. He points out that at least 20% percent of the galaxy’s 200 billion stars could harbor habitable worlds. So intelligent aliens could be out there somewhere, or were out there sometime during the Milky Way’s 13-billion-year history. But the odds are long that any UFO witnessed to date was an extraterrestrial craft.

[Editor’s Note]    Seth Shostak’s livelihood is searching for ET intelligence among the 200 billion stars in the galaxy. As the Senior Astronomer and former Director for the SETI Institute, he has become something of a celebrity. The last thing he wants is to discover that ET beings already pervade our reality: around and within this planet, on/within our Moon, on/within Mars, and throughout the solar system. Has Shostak and SETI been duped just like the rest of us? Have SETI’s efforts been futile for decades, and now rendered obsolete? Or was SETI just another Deep State psyop that existed to appease and assure the public that so-called “experts” were on the look out for aliens, while their puppet masters continued to hide the true extraterrestrial presence? If so, that would explain why Shostak insists that there are perfectly logical non-alien explanations for Navy pilot’s reports of UFOs possessing technology that defies known physics. (And why Fox News published this article.) Apparently, Shostak knows more about UFO technology than experienced Navy fighter pilots who roam the skies on a daily basis. Nevertheless, while emphatically denying that ET is already here, Shostak advocates continuing the abstract “search” for extraterrestrial life, light years from Earth. After all, it’s a living.

 

UFOs are very real, as we have recently seen — but that doesn’t mean E.T. has been violating our airspace.

“UFO” refers to any flying object an observer cannot readily identify. And pilots with the U.S. Navy saw fast-moving UFOs repeatedly off the East Coast throughout 2014 and 2015, in one case apparently nearly colliding with one of the mysterious objects, The New York Times reported earlier this week.

Those incidents were reported to the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), whose existence the Times and Politico revealed in December 2017. (Interestingly, those 2017 stories cited Pentagon officials as saying that AATIP had been shut down in 2012.)

Former AATIP head Luis Elizondo, by the way, is involved with a new six-part series called ” Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation,” which premieres tonight (May 31) on The History Channel.

The Navy pilots said some UFOs reached hypersonic speeds without any detectable exhaust plumes, suggesting the possible involvement of super-advanced propulsion technology. Still, Defense Department officials aren’t invoking intelligent aliens as an explanation, according to this week’s Times story — and they’re right to be measured in this respect, scientists say.

There are multiple possible prosaic explanations for the Navy pilots’ observations, said Seth Shostak, a senior astronomer at the SETI ( Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence ) Institute in Mountain View, California.

Passengers can also take advantage of daily yoga classes, an on-board sauna and spa, a movie theater and live musical performances, and even go swimming with dolphins off the coast of Puerto Vallarta.

Bizarre Video of Floating Lights Above California

• In the late afternoon of October 27th, Chris Wilson of San Diego was able to video record an orb of light hovering in the sky. The orb suddenly stops and seems to float in the air. Then a second light orb appears. Wilson says, “Woah, what the hell, it’s stopped its free-fall and now there are two.”  (see 9:24 minute video below)

• The YouTube channel ‘Disclose Screen’ shared Wilson’s video. Neal Evan, who runs the page said, “If the second object didn’t just appear out of nowhere, I would have guessed it was a military flare.”

 

This is the moment two orbs of light were seen hovering in the sky above San Diego.

At first, just one light can be seen against the sunset but then a second appears – with eyewitnesses claiming it ‘shoots down’.

Chris Wilson, who filmed the strange sighting on October 27 says: “That’s crazy” as the shape suddenly stops and seems to float in the air.

He is heard saying: “Woah, what the hell, it’s stopped its free-fall and now there are two.”

A popular conspiracy channel, Disclose Screen, spotted Chris’s video on Youtube and began to share possible theories.

Although some were quick to point out that there is a military base nearby.

Neal Evan, who runs the page said: “It is very strange indeed, I have no idea what it is.

“If the second object didn’t just appear out of nowhere, I would have guessed it was a military flare.
“But it is impossible to rule anything out.”

One person wrote: “NASA will say it’s balloons or reflections.”
