Bangor Daily News Readers Own UFO Stories

Article by Troy R. Bennett                                                 February 5, 2020                                                (bangordailynews.com)

• In response to reports of rising numbers of UFO sightings in Maine in the Bangor Daily News, here are some more details of various sightings: Kathleen McKechnie of Bowdoinham, Maine says she saw a UFO. “It went from here to Topsham in the blink of an eye. No kidding. It was fast,” she wrote. “It was so fast, I couldn’t be more positive. I saw a UFO.”

• In the 1990s, Deb Doherty of Steep Falls, Maine was driving on Route 114 from Gorham to Sebago Lake Village with her sister when they both saw “a bright orange thing streaking across the sky”. They both decided that “people already think we’re nuts. Don’t tell anyone. We laughed but I have always wondered.” Doherty said.

• Kathleen Thurnau, 73, was an 18-year-old English major at the University of Southern Maine in 1965 when one night, in early winter, Thurnau awoke to an odd noise coming from outside. It was a roaring, with a high-pitched squeak. She got up and looked out of the girls dormitory window atop the hill. Looking down toward Campus Avenue, Thurnau saw lights through the swirling snowflakes. The lights cycled between three points, as if they were attached to a dark, triangular shape. She thought it was a snowplow, until the lights moved. “There’s no way a truck could move that fast,” Thurnau said. The lights then shot down Campus Avenue and out of sight. Thurnau moved to another window with a better view and then watched the orbs racing up the hill toward the boys dormitory. The next day, she called the police but they had no explanation for her. She thought they would laugh at her if she suggested they may have been a UFO. “I’ve never forgotten, and it’s probably why I am such a sci-fi nut,” said Thurnau. “We are regular church-goers and my faith is extremely important to me, as I believe it guides my life, but I also believe I saw a UFO when I was 18.” “We cannot be the only beings in this vast universe.”

• An anonymous Portland, Maine resident and his partner were driving west on Route 302 in Windham in the summer of 2019 when a UFO appeared above their car for no more than a second. “It was oval-ish, with a red light that could have been part of a propulsion system, as it moved in the opposite direction of the light,” he said. “I didn’t know what the hell it was.” Judging by its size, he reckoned it was huge, or flying very low, or both. At the next red light, a dump truck pulled up beside them. “I rolled down my window and asked him if he just saw that,” the man said. The driver nodded and said that he had. The man said he’s not sure what he saw that night but can neither rule out aliens or a government conspiracy to make the public believe in extraterrestrial visitors. But he wonders, if there really are aliens, why can’t they make direct contact — or at least be better at hiding themselves?

• In 1978, Christine and Allan Morrill of Waterboro, Maine were 19 and 22-year-old newlyweds driving home from a barbecue in Newfield. “Allan was driving, when all of a sudden a blinding light shone down on the back of the car,” said Christine. “The next second, it was in front of the car. Then, a second later, it was gone. The road and sky were dark again.” They never got a look at where the light was coming from. At first, they thought it was a friend, playing a trick, driving up behind them with a spotlight. “Then we quickly realized there was no sound,” she said. “Our windows were down. It was a warm night.” Stunned, they drove home in silence. A week later, Allan was talking to a friend, who was also a York County Deputy Sheriff, who told Allan of a busy night the week before, when his office received multiple calls about unexplained lights in the sky over that same neck of the woods. Still, the Morrills kept silent about what happened for the next 43 years. “We knew people would laugh,” Christine said. “Even today I think of it like a scene right out of a movie — except it really happened.”

PORTLAND, Maine — A recent story we published about the rising numbers of UFO sightings in Maine drew a hearty number of reader responses.

Some folks wanted to make pithy retorts deriding the singular tales. Others sought to explain them away. Most wanted to chime in with their own first-hand accounts of strange aerial phenomena occurring high over the Pine Tree State.

“It went from here to Topsham in the blink of an eye. No kidding. It was fast,” wrote Kathleen McKechnie in Bowdoinham. “It was so fast, I couldn’t be more positive. I saw a UFO.”

Deb Doherty of Steep Falls also saw something: “I was driving on Route 114 from Gorham to Sebago Lake Village with my sister in law, back in the 90s, and as we crested a hill there was a bright orange thing streaking across the sky.”

They both witnessed it.

“She responded with, ‘People already think we’re nuts. Don’t tell anyone,” Doherty said. “We laughed but I have always wondered.”

A few other readers had laughs, too.

“Maine has a high rate of Allen’s Coffee Brandy drinkers too,” wrote one commenter. “Any connection?”

Scott Simcock of South Paris also had a chuckle: “I believe it by the high numbers of anal probes left on the ground in the parking lot by the pond.”

But the majority of people who got in touch just told their own UFO stories. Here are three of them.

Kathleen Thurnau, 73, was an 18-year-old English major at the University of Southern Maine in 1965 when she saw something she still can’t explain.

UFO Sleuth Says US Government Knows More About Aliens Than It Lets On

Article by Harry Pettit                                                February 8, 2021                                           (thesun.co.uk)

• Since 1996, John Greenewald Jr. has run the website, The Black Vault, (see here), where he has filed more than 10,000 Freedom of Information Act requests and published over 2 million sensitive files from the CIA, NSA and other government agencies. His trove of documents dates back to World War One and covers topics including UFOs, Bigfoot, alien encounters, the JFK assassination and the CIA’s mind-control research.

• Each month, The Black Vault site attracts more than 300,000 visitors, who download a combined ten terabytes of documents. Most are so heavily classified you can’t read anything on the page. “A lot of people get frustrated at that,” Greenewald said. “But that to me… proves that the phenomena is real, that it’s unidentified, and that it’s highly classified. Whatever it is, they just don’t want us to know about it.”

• Greenewald believes that there are plenty of secrets stored in the various national archives that agency staff don’t even know are there. “[T]here’s a lot of evidence to suggest that most government agencies don’t know what they have in their holdings,” said Greenewald. “The National Archive here in America alone, they measure documents by cubic feet due to the amount of information they have. So it’s hard for me to believe they’ve found every UFO document that they have.”

• The cyber detective has made his fair share of head-spinning finds. They include the story of an explosion in a small Russian town in the 1970s which ripped off roofs, blew out windows and left a 90ft-wide crater. Residents there reported seeing a “moving fiery sphere”. Another tells of a Bosnian fugitive who claimed to have made contact with aliens. Perhaps the site’s biggest scoop are files relating to MKUltra, the CIA mind-control experiments conducted on dozens of US citizens to control human behavior, often using hallucinogens like LSD.

• Based in the town of Castaic in Los Angeles county California with his wife of nine years, Sabrena, and two children, Christian, aged six, and Anabelle, two, Greenewald has tirelessly investigated the shady activities of US government sleuths since the age of 15. He wakes up at 4:30am each day to investigate unexplained phenomena the world over, juggling his hobby with his day job running an online business that sells earphones to gyms and schools.

• In January, Greenewald published hundreds more declassified CIA files containing once top secret information on sightings of UFOs across the globe. But Greenewald says that there are still reams of documents held by the government regarding UFO sightings that are yet to be uncovered, and that spy agencies know a lot more about “alien” encounters than they’re letting on.

• In an interview with The Sun, the 39-year-old revealed that some files simply go “missing”. “Often they search their archives and tell you they didn’t find anything,” said Greenewald. “You really can’t fight it and you just have to trust them.” “Sometimes, the evidence is so explosive that they don’t really search as well as they say they do.”

• “I once filed requests on DIA and NSA material on UFOs that’s been classified for years,” said Greenewald. “Both agencies told me the same thing: They ‘lost everything’. They just can’t find it. That doesn’t make sense, that doesn’t fly. The government generally doesn’t lose anything. …For them to claim (they’ve lost) UFO material is very convenient.”

• Still, Greenewald hopes that The Black Vault can educate the general public by giving them as much of the story as possible. He’s kept the website free and allows people to download anything from the site without charging a fee. “I want visitors to have as many pieces of the puzzle as possible when it comes to UFOs or mind control or whatever the topic is,” he said. “They want this information, and they should have access to it.” “It’s the most amazing feeling I get when people benefit from that.”

A SEASONED UFO-hunter who has spent 25 years exposing US government secrets says that spy agencies know a lot more about

“alien” encounters than they’re letting on.

John Greenewald Jr, who runs a website where he has published more than 2million sensitive files from the CIA, National Security Agency and more, said reams of documents regarding mysterious sightings are yet to be uncovered.

Based in California, the father-of-two has tirelessly investigated the shady activities of US government sleuths since the age of 15.

Last month, he published hundreds of declassified CIA files containing once top secret information on sightings of UFOs across the globe to his website, The Black Vault.

Within the pages are a bizarre story of an explosion in a Russian town in the 1970s, and a dispute with a Bosnian fugitive who claimed to have made contact with aliens.

Since 1996, John says he’s filed more then 10,000 Freedom Of Information Act requests to get hold of elusive government papers.

They date back to World War One and cover topics including Bigfoot, alien encounters, the JFK assassination and the CIA’s mind-control research.

In an interview with The Sun, the 39-year-old revealed that some files are so explosive that they simply go “missing”.

“Often they search their archives and tell you they didn’t find anything,” John said. “You really can’t fight it and you just have to trust them.”

“Sometimes, the evidence is so explosive that they don’t really search as well as they say they do.”

On top of that, he believes that there are plenty of juicy secrets stored up in the national archives that agency staff don’t know are there.

CIA Doc Claims Carl Jung Accused US Air Force of Covering Up UFOs

Article by Arjun Walia                                      February 2, 2021                                        (collective-evolution.com)

• In a declassified CIA document dated 1959 (see here), UFO researcher Fred A. Kirsch replies to a previous letter criticizing the famous psychoanalyst Dr. Carl Jung (pictured above) for his belief in flying saucers. Kirsch points out that other persons of integrity and reputation have also expressed their belief in UFOs and the Air Force’s cover-up of the truth about these objects. These persons include former director of the naval guided missile research program Admiral Delmar Fahrney and former chief of the CIA Roscoe M. Hillenkoetter, both of whom would be in a position to know.

• In his letter, Kirsch goes on: “If Jung were the only responsible person to make such charges, we could brush the whole thing off as nonsense. However, when a number of pilots, radar operators, and other trained observers agree that the UFOs are real, a serious reappraisal of the situation is in order.”

• 1959 was the same year that Jung released his book: “Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies”, which examines “not the reality or unreality” of UFOs but their “psychic aspect” and what it may signify that these phenomena are occurring at a time of Cold War “when humankind is menaced as never before in history”.

• In 1957, New Republic editor Gilbert A. Harrison wanted to get this Jung’s perspective on UFOs for his magazine. “The problem of the UFOs,” writes Jung, is that while “there is no certainty about their very nature…there is…overwhelming material pointing to their legendary or mythological aspect.” “[I]t looks to me as if something were seen and even confirmed by radar, but nobody knows exactly what is seen.”

• In an article: “Flying Saucers Come From A Distant World” in The American Weekly, October 24, 1954, Hermann Oberth, mentor to Wernher Von Braun and the ‘father of spaceflight’ stated his belief that “flying saucers are real” and that “they are space ships from another solar system” and manned by intelligent observers “of a race that may have been investigating our Earth for centuries.”

• In his very last interview before his death, Colonel Robert Friend, who from 1958-1962 was a director of the US Air Force UFO investigation ‘Project Blue Book’ suggested that the Air Force knew what these UFOs were. The first CIA director, Roscoe Hillenkoetter, once said, “It is time for the truth to be brought out…Behind the scenes, high ranking Air Force officials are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense. I urge immediate Congressional action to reduce the dangers from secrecy about Unidentified Flying Objects.” And former NASA astronaut and Princeton Physics Professor Dr. Brian O’Leary said we now have “abundant evidence that we are being contacted, that civilizations have been visiting us for a very long time.”

• While UFOs have gone mainstream today, many people have concerns about “real” UFO disclosure given the fact that governments and mainstream media have deceived the public on so many occasions.

              Admiral Delmar Fahrney

Roscoe Hillenkoetter, the very first director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) once said that “It is time for the truth to be

          Roscoe M. Hillenkoetter

brought out…Behind the scenes, high ranking Air Force officials are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense. I urge immediate Congressional action to reduce the dangers from secrecy about Unidentified Flying Objects”

He said this decades ago. Hillenkoetter is also mentioned in this declassified document archived and released by the CIA. This particular document also mentions Carl Jung. It reads as follows: This is a reply to the letter (Aug. 6) criticizing Dr. Carl Jung for his belief in flying saucers and his charges that the Air Force has been covering up the truth about these objects. I would like to point out that Dr. Jung is not the first person of integrity and reputation who has made such charges. He is merely the latest. Exactly the same charge has been made by Admiral Delmar Fahrney, former director of the naval guided missile research program, and by R.M. Hillenkoetter, former chief of the Central Intelligence Agency. Both of these men would be in a position to know how much the AF investigation of saucers really found.

The piece was written by Fred A. Kirsch, a well known UFO researcher.

So what did they really find? Keep in mind this document is from 1959, it’s now 2021. How much has been discovered and how much has been kept from the public? In his very last interview before his death, Colonel Robert Friend, who from 1958-1962 was a director of Project Blue Book (U.S. Air Force UFO investigation project) suggests the U.S. Air Force knew what these object were. Fast forward to today, and we now have

      Colonel Robert Friend

“abundant evidence that we are being contacted, that civilizations have been visiting us for a very long time.” (Dr. Brian O’Leary, former NASA astronaut and Princeton Physics Professor)

The document goes on:
If Jung were the only responsible person to make such charges, we could brush the whole thing off as nonsense. However, when a number of pilots, radar operators, and other trained observers agree that the UFOs are real, a serious reappraisal of the situation is in order.

Today, UFOs have gone mainstream, and the same information is being emphasized. For example, Christopher Mellon, who was the former Deputy Assistant Defense Secretary for Intelligence from 1997 to 2002, recently made an appearance on CNN stating the same facts about these objects. Many people have concerns about “mainstream UFO disclosure” given the fact that governments and mainstream media, according to many, have deceived the public on so many occasions.

      Gilbert A. Harrison

The same year that this document pertaining to Jung was written, he released his book called Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies, which examines “not the reality or unreality” of the titular phenomena, but their “psychic aspect,” and “what it may signify that these phenomena, whether real or imagined, are seen in such numbers just at a time” — the Cold War — “when humankind is menaced as never before in history.”

It seems, in my opinion, he was quite convinced of the phenomenon. Especially given the fact that he accused the Air Force of a cover-up. Again,

   Dr. Brian O’Leary

fast forward to today and we now know he was right.

In 1957, New Republic editor Gilbert A. Harrison wanted to get this Jung’s perspective on UFOs in his magazine. You can see (via The Awl) a scan of Jung’s response to Harrison’s query, the text reads as follows:
The problem of the Ufos is, as you rightly say, a very fascinating one, but it is as puzzling as it is fascinating; since, in spite of all observations I know of, there is no certainty about their very nature. On the other side, there is an overwhelming material pointing to their legendary or mythological aspect. As a matter of fact the psychological aspect is so impressive, that one almost must regret that the Ufos seem to be real after all. I have followed up the literature as much as possible and it looks to me as if something were seen and even confirmed by radar, but nobody knows exactly what is seen. In consideration of the psychological aspect of the phenomenon I have written a booklet about it, which is soon to appear. It is also in the process of being translated into English. Unfortunately being occupied with other tasks I am unable to meet your proposition. Being rather old, I have to economize my energies.

Incredible Perseverance Rover Mars Landing

Article by Ashley Strickland                                            February 19, 2021                                             (cnn.com)

UPDATED

• On Thursday February 18th, NASA’s Perseverance rover reached Mars’ thin atmosphere. The rover’s ‘jetpack’ lowered the rover on tethers near to the planet’s surface where the rover disengaged from the jetpack and descended by parachute to the ground. Meanwhile, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (which has been orbiting Mars since 2006) flew overhead taking pictures of the descent and landing. The orbiter will relay data from the rover on the ground to the science team back on Earth. The rover and its jetpack were also snapping images along the way.

• While the first images taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter’s HiRISE camera on Thursday evening were black and white glimpses showing the rover safely landing on Mars, by Friday color images of the ‘Red Planet’ were being transmitted from the rover itself.

• Perseverance landed about 1.2 miles away from the Jezero Crater river delta, which hosted a lake 3.9 billion years ago. The rover switched over to the software it will use while driving on the Martian surface where it will spend the next two years investigating the crater and delta in search for evidence of ancient life that may have existed when Mars was a more habitable place.

• These first images shared during a NASA press conference were “exhilarating” for the team. A camera on the descent stage of the rover spacecraft captured a unique perspective. “This shot from a camera on my jetpack captures me in midair, just before my wheels touched down,” related the Perseverance rover on its Perseverance Twitter account. “The moment that my team dreamed of for years, now a reality.” “An open horizon, with so much to explore. Can’t wait to get going,” the Perseverance account tweeted. ”Dare mighty things.”

• “The team is overwhelmed with excitement and joy to have successfully landed another rover on the surface of Mars,” said Adam Steltzner, the Perseverance rover’s chief engineer. “When we do such investments, we do them for humanity, and we do them as a gesture of our humanity.” “We can only hope, in our efforts to engineer spacecraft and explore our solar system, that we might be able contribute yet another iconic image to this collection, and I’m happy to say that I’m hopeful that today we can with this.”

• Aaron Stehura, deputy phase lead for entry, descent and landing also reflected on the moment the science team saw the image of the rover from the perspective of the ‘jetpack’ descent stage. “This is something that we’ve never seen before. It was stunning and the team was awestruck. And, you know, there’s just a feeling of victory that we’re able to capture these and share them with the world.” After the successful landing, members of the team celebrated with virtual parties, ice cream and the best night’s sleep they’ve have in a long time.

• “The rover is doing great and is healthy on the surface of Mars and continues to be highly functional and awesome,” said Pauline Hwang, strategic mission manager for the rover. This weekend, the rover will go through some hardware checkouts to make sure everything is working properly, Hwang said. The head, or mast, will unfold and cameras on the mast will capture more images of the rover’s surroundings to provide a panorama, as well as a “selfie” panorama of the rover.

• ‘Ingenuity’, the little helicopter tucked up under the rover, will also go through a checkup before embarking upon a series of test flights over a 30-day period, said Hwang. The Perseverance rover will drive to a predetermined helipad location, lower the helicopter to the ground, roll back away from the helicopter. and record images and video of these historic flights. Ingenuity also carries two cameras and will be able to share its aerial views.

• Katie Stack Morgan, deputy project scientist for the rover has been helping to lead a team of 450 scientists around the world as they prepare to explore the Jezero Crater. Now, they’re ready to study these images and plot out a path for the rover to use as it navigates the intriguing features of the crater. The rover will explore nearby rocks on the crater floor to determine if they are volcanic basalt or sedimentary rocks and investigate the presence of a mineral called olivine that could be an explosive ash deposit, Morgan said.

• Holes present in some the rocks visible in images taken by the rover could suggest either gas that escaped the rocks if they were formed from lava, or fluids that dissolved part of the rock if they’re sedimentary. “Between us and the delta, we have a lot of interesting science to do,” said Morgan. “As soon as we got that color image from the surface of Mars, our chats lit up with the science team saying ‘look over here’ and’ look over here.’ And that’s exactly what we were hoping for… [W]e can’t believe that we’re really doing science now on the surface of Mars.”

           Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter

After safely landing on the surface of Mars Thursday, NASA’s Perseverance rover has sent back a never-before-seen view: what it

                    Perseverance rover

looks like to land on Mars.

The rover also returned some beautiful postcards of its landing site.

The first image shared during a NASA press conference Friday was “exhilarating” for the team when they received it. It shows the rover nearing the Martian surface during entry, descent and landing. A camera on the descent stage of the spacecraft captured the perspective, something that wasn’t possible on previous missions.

            celebration in control room

“This shot from a camera on my ‘jetpack’ captures me in midair, just before my wheels touched down,” according to a tweet from the Perseverance Twitter account. “The moment that my team dreamed of for years, now a reality. Dare mighty things.”

                    Ingenuity helicopter

Little dust plumes can be seen kicking up from the Martian surface, stirred by the engines landing the rover when it was just 6.5 feet above the surface.

“The team is overwhelmed with excitement and joy to have successfully landed another rover on the surface of Mars,” said Adam Steltzner, the rover’s chief engineer. “When we do such investments, we do them for humanity, and we do them as a gesture of our humanity.”

                Adam Steltzner

Steltzner cited iconic space images from the Apollo mission, like Buzz Aldrin on the surface of the moon, Voyager’s first image of Saturn and the Hubble Space Telescope’s awe-inspiring “Pillars of Creation” photo.

                        Aaron Stehura

“We can only hope, in our efforts to engineer spacecraft and explore our solar system, that we might be able contribute yet another iconic image to this collection, and I’m happy to say that I’m hopeful that today we can with this.”

While the first images returned by the rover Thursday evening were black and white glimpses showing it safely landed on Mars, color images made available Friday show the characteristic red color of the Martian surface.

              Jezero Crater river delta

“An open horizon, with so much to explore. Can’t wait to get going,” the Perseverance account tweeted.

      Katie Stack Morgan

Rocks are also seen scattered across the flat surface of the landing site in Jezero Crater, but they’re small when compared to the large rover wheels.

Rocks spotted by the rover have holes in them — which has the scientists curious to see what would cause them.

Another tweet with the image read, “I love rocks. Look at these right next to my wheel. Are they volcanic or sedimentary? What story do they tell? Can’t wait to find out.”

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter’s HiRISE camera, which flew over the landing site as Perseverance was coming in for a landing, captured an incredible view as the spacecraft’s parachutes opened.

“The Beauty of Flight! HiRISE captured this image of @NASAPersevere on its way to the landing site from over 700 km (435 mi) away!” the HiRISE account tweeted.

Why Aren’t Alien Abductions Taken Seriously?

Article by Pritha Paul                                                February 3, 2021                                                    (meaww.com)

• The existence of extraterrestrial beings is considered a deeply guarded government secret. As a result, the debate has raged about whether or not UFOs are real, and whether people have truly experienced alien abductions as many claim. One source estimates that 3.7 million people in the U.S. alone have experienced an alien abduction.

• A significant number of people stay in constant fear of aliens visiting their bedroom at night, being taken aboard a spaceship and subjected to medical experimentation including the removal of eggs or sperm. Abductees have told tales about sexually producing hybrid offspring with their alien abductor, and receiving important information about the fate of the Earth.

• One of the most famous alien abduction cases occurred on a September night in 1961. Betty and Barney Hill were driving down a winding country road in New Hampshire’s White Mountains when they noticed a strange light that seemed to be following them. When they finally got home at dawn, they did not feel clean and their watches had stopped working. Barney’s shoes were strangely scuffed and Betty’s dress was ripped. And they could not recall two hours of their drive.

• With the aid of a psychiatrist, the Hills were able to regain flashes of their memory. According to whatever they could remember, Gray beings with large eyes had walked them into a metallic disc where the beings examined the couple and erased their memories. Their account set a precedent for how alien abductees would be scrutinized. Betty and Barney Hill would be accused of being liars, fantasists, crazy or simply sleep-deprived people. Not many in the media seem to take extraterrestrial abductions seriously.

• In Episode 6 of the Discovery+ series ‘UFO Witness’, Ben Hansen notes that while people who claim to have experienced such abductions have no history of mental instability, they often have a proclivity for fantasy. Other psychological explanations include dissociation – where mental processes detach from reality, often in response to extreme or stressful life events. Childhood trauma and hypnotic suggestibility can play a part in this.

• Sleep Paralysis and temporal lobe sensitivity could also explain claims of alien abduction, when the mind is awake but the body is unable to move, just as a person passes between stages of sleep and waking. This rare condition is often accompanies by a feeling of fear or dread and the sense of another presence. Also common are a feeling of pressure on the chest, difficulty breathing and the feeling of being held or restricted to a lying position. When Michael Shermer collapsed from sleep deprivation following an 83-hour bike race, Shermer perceived medical personnel as aliens from the 1960s television series ‘The Invaders.’

While the existence of extraterrestrial beings has been considered to be a deeply guarded government secret, an age-old debate has raged

        Betty and Barney Hill

over the same not just because of UFOs being spotted in the sky, but also due to accounts of people experiencing alien abductions. However, non-believers have often clubbed such people with the recent rise of the anti-vaccination movement and the prominence of the Flat Earth movement – diminishing the seriousness of such accounts.

Nevertheless, a significant number of people stay in constant fear of aliens visiting their bedroom at night, being abducted, taken aboard a spaceship, and being subjected to medical experimentation including the removal of eggs or sperm. There have been abductees who have also told tales about forming sexual relationships with their alien abductors and subsequently producing hybrid offsprings with their same as well as having received important information about the fate of the Earth.

Although the exact tally of such accounts varies, they have been put at over 3.7 million in the United States alone to “at least several thousand worldwide.” The idea that the US government might be hiding aliens in a secret military base led to the mission, “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us” on September 20, 2019. Although more than 2 million people responded “going” and 1.5 million “interested” on the event’s page on Facebook, only about 150 people were reported to have shown up at the entrance to Area 51, with none succeeding in entering the site.

On a September night in 1961, Betty and Barney Hill were driving down the empty winding country road in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. They had not seen a car for miles and a strange light seemed to be following them. When they finally got home to Portsmouth at dawn, they did not feel clean and their watches stopped working. Also, Barney’s shoes were strangely scuffed and Betty’s dress was ripped. There was also a loss of time and memory. They could not recall two hours from their drive.

With the aid of a psychiatrist, they were able to regain flashes of their memory. According to whatever they could remember, gray beings with large eyes had walked them into a metallic disc. After entering the disc, the beings examined the couple and erased their memories. Their account not only started an Air Force inquiry, part of the secretive initiative Project Blue Book that investigated UFO sightings across the nation. It also set the precedent for how alien abduction stories got told from then on.

The husband and wife became forever embroiled in the debate of whether they were liars, fantasists, crazy or simply sleep-deprived people who relied heavily on their scrambled memories. Despite the widespread interest in seeking proof of the alien life form, not many seem to take extraterrestrial abductions seriously. In Episode 6 of Discovery+ series ‘UFO Witness,’ Ben Hansen sets out to discover exactly why these claims are swept under the rug.

Navy’s UFO-Type Patent Raises Questions

Article by Dave Makichuk                                                February 3, 2021                                              (asiatimes.com)

• Brett Tingley at “The War Zone”/The Drive website has been leading the charge on analyzing and reporting on a series of next generation technology patents filed by the U.S. Navy in 2019, and invented by Navy aerospace engineer Dr. Salvatore Pais. These patents include a High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator and Propulsion System and a Compact Plasma Compression Fusion Reactor. The technology claimed in these patents could revolutionize not only military aviation, but just about everything.

• Between October 2016 and September 2019, the US Navy’s Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division spent $466,000 on testing Pais’ theories. In a reversal, they now say that that the “Pais Effect” could not be proven and the Navy will conduct no further research on it.

• According to a report by Alex Hollings in The National Interest, the Chief Technology Officer of the US Naval Aviation Enterprise, Dr. James Sheehy, has pointed out that China is investing significantly in this field of technology and that it “will become a reality” someday. Sheely told Patent Examiner Philip Bonzell that the United States “would prefer that we hold the patent as opposed to paying forever more to use this revolutionary technology”. And if the Pentagon had, in fact, produced a working model of an electromagnetic propulsion system and a compact fusion reactor, would they reveal it to the public or our military adversaries? At this point, it’s impossible to say whether or not the Navy and Dr. Pais have managed to produce anything truly groundbreaking.

• The patent for the High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator resembles long-standing theories posited by UFO researchers about the means of propulsion employed by alien visitors. If functional, a HEEMFG could produce massive amounts of power with far reaching military and commercial implications. And The National Interest points out that an electromagnetic propulsion system could allow the Navy to build its own flying saucers.

• A compact, room temperature fusion reactor has long been the holy grail of energy scientists and researchers. While nuclear reactors in everything from power plants to aircraft carriers produce power by splitting a nucleus into two lighter nuclei (ie: splitting the atom), fusion power would involve fusing two or more nuclei together into a single, heavier element – most likely, hydrogen atoms being fused into a single helium one.

• Technically speaking, fusion reactors do already exist, but they’ve never been efficient enough to be used for power production. An efficient fusion reactor could effectively end humanity’s reliance on fossil fuels, or as a weapon end humanity as we know it. Documents released by The War Zone show that a compact fusion reactor could allow for the creation of a “Spacetime Modification Weapon” that would “make the hydrogen bomb seem more like a firecracker, in comparison.”

• As far as creating a super-weapon, we need not go any further than the ‘father of the hydrogen bomb’, physicist Edward Teller who decided to one-up the 10.4 megaton bomb that America detonated at Enewetak Atoll in 1952 by creating a 10,000-megaton nuclear weapon with the capability of destroying a small continent. To put a doomsday weapon like that in the hands of mankind would be pure madness, and, totally unnecessary. Thankfully, Teller’s plan was left on his infamous drawing board.

• Russia, China and the US already have enough nuclear firepower to destroy the world several times over. The largest nuclear weapon ever tested was the “Tsar Bomba” of the Soviet Union on October 30, 1961, with a yield estimated at 50-58 megatons.

• Salvatore Pais’ electromagnetic and fusion technologies wouldn’t be the first to be suppressed by the US government. In 1989, scientist Bob Lazar claimed to have worked on back-engineered UFO technology deep under Area 51 in Nevada. Lazar said that the UFOs’ propulsion was based on directing gravity waves generated by a powerful compact reactor.

• According to US Army Colonel Philip J. Corso, the US government has been extracting new technologies from from alien crashes, such as the infamous Roswell incident, since 1947. Any such technology is considered at least 50 years ahead of current aerospace technology and would be a tightly guarded secret by the US military, on the order of the Manhattan Project.

                          Salvatore Pais

“If I had foreseen Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I would have torn up my formula in 1905.” – Albert Einstein

         Dr. James Sheehy

It has long been claimed by ufologists that the US government has been back-engineering UFOs at Area S4, the ultra secret site within Area 51.

In 1989, scientist Bob Lazar, who claimed to have worked at the base deep in the heart of the Nevada desert, spilled the beans on the study of UFOs — of which he claimed they had several.
The smaller saucer-like UFO he said he was studying, which was called the “sport model,” supposedly was based on directing gravity waves.

This came from a reactor which amplified the gravity waves which extended beyond the atom of Element 115, which he predicted to exist (he would be proved right years later).

Whether any of that is true or not, it is interesting to note that in 2019, the US Navy’s Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) filed a number of seemingly out of this world patents that could, in theory, revolutionize not only military aviation, but just about everything.

According to a report by Alex Hollings in The National Interest, chief among these strange new inventions is a High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator (HEEMFG), which if functional, could produce massive amounts of power with far reaching military and commercial implications.

The patent also eerily resembles longstanding theories posited by UFO researchers about the means of propulsion seemingly employed by alien visitors.

what was last seen of the Enewetak Atoll

Recently, Brett Tingley over at The War Zone received a fresh dump of documents pertaining to these patents through a Freedom

                           Bob Lazar

of Information Act request.

The Warzone has been leading the charge on analysis on these unusual patents ever since they surfaced two years ago, and are continuing the effort by pouring through hundreds of pages of reports, technical drawings, data, and photos released to them by the Navy.

Believe it or not, an electromagnetic propulsion system that could allow the Navy to build its own flying saucers may not be the craziest thing to come out of these efforts, National Interest reported.

According to these newly released documents, another branch of this work deals with the concept of a compact fusion reactor, which among other things, could allow for the creation of a “Spacetime Modification Weapon.”

     Colonel Philip J. Corso

Per the Navy’s own internal documents, this weapon could “make the hydrogen bomb seem more like a firecracker, in comparison.”

         the Soviet Union’s “Tsar Bomba”

These patents were born out of the work of US Navy aerospace engineer Dr. Salvatore Pais, and as crazy as his inventions may sound, the Navy clearly seems to think they are worth exploration, National Interest reported.

So far, it’s been confirmed that the Navy has poured more than US$466,000 into helping this program mature since 2017.

Here’s how a Navy PowerPoint slide labeled “For Internal Use Only” explains the implications of Dr. Pais’ Spacetime Modification Weapon, of course: “Under uniquely defined conditions, the Plasma Compression Fusion Device can lead to development of a Spacetime Modification Weapon (SMW- a weapon that can make the Hydrogen bomb seem more like a firecracker, in comparison). Extremely high energy levels can be achieved with this invention, under pulsed ultrahigh current (I) / ultrahigh magnetic flux density (B) conditions (Z-pinch with a Fusion twist).“

So what exactly is this new technology?

A compact fusion reactor has long been the holy grail of energy scientists and researchers, and to be clear Pais isn’t the first person to suggest that he’s close to pulling it off, National Interest reported.

Success of Private Space Companies Helps US Secure Space Domain

Article by Amanda Mcias and Michael Sheetz                                               February 3, 2021                                              (cnbc.com)

• Despite fears that the Covid-19 pandemic would slow this past decade’s momentum, private investment in space companies set a record in 2002. Space Capital reported that builders of rockets and satellites brought in $8.9 billion last year, and venture capital investors continued to pour funds into space businesses.

• “There is a ton of excitement across America on space in all sectors,” said General John Raymond, the US Space Force’s chief of operations. Raymond confirmed that Wall Street has invested billions in the space industry. This in turn has sparked renewed interest in space commerce and recruitment in Space Force.

• There are “people…wanting to come into the Space Force in numbers greater than what we have slots to fill. [U]niversities are seeing more students apply for space STEM degrees. I think is going to be great for our nation,” Raymond said. “I’m excited about all of it, both what we’re doing here on national security and what’s going on in the commercial industry that we can leverage the advantage.” “[W]e are stronger with a secure and stable space domain and all of those sectors play into that.”

• Space Force has increasingly looked to partner with the private space industry sector. The Pentagon is closely watching the progress of rocket builders like Rocket Lab, Astra and Virgin Orbit in addition to SpaceX.

• SpaceX announced this month that it will fly its first all-civilian crew into orbit later this year, a mission known as Inspiration 4. The landmark flight, led by billionaire Jared Isaacman, is aimed at using high-profile space tourism to raise support for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Three yet-to-be-announced passengers will accompany Isaacman on the multiday journey around the Earth, with two of the seats to be decided in public online competitions this month.

• Raymond noted that SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft successfully achieved the first operational launch of NASA’s Crew-1 mission, although SpaceX’s Starship rocket test flight on February 2nd was not so successful.

WASHINGTON – The nation’s top general leading the U.S. military mission in space said Wednesday that he is excited about Wall

             Jared Isaacman

Street and billionaire investment in the space industry, which has sparked renewed interest in the field among Americans and strong recruitment at the Pentagon’s youngest branch.

“There is a ton of excitement across America on space in all sectors,” said Gen. John Raymond, the U.S. Space Force’s chief of operations, when asked by CNBC about the strides made by private space companies like Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

“I’ve talked about people knocking on our door wanting to come into the Space Force in numbers greater than what we have slots to fill. I’ve talked in the past about how universities are seeing more students apply for space STEM degrees, which I think is going to be great for our nation,” Raymond added.

“I’m excited about all of it, both what we’re doing here on national security and what’s going on in the commercial industry that we can leverage the advantage,” the four-star general said without specifically naming any companies.

“The U.S. has always, has long understood that we are stronger with a secure and stable space domain and all of those sectors play into that,” Raymond said.

The U.S. Space Force, the Pentagon’s youngest branch, has increasingly looked to partner with the private sector as companies and investors pour into the space industry. The Pentagon is closely watching the progress of rocket builders like Rocket Lab, Astra and Virgin Orbit in addition to SpaceX.

Raymond’s comments came on the heels of SpaceX announcing this week that it will fly its first all-civilian crew into orbit later this year, a mission known as Inspiration 4.

Raymond also called out NASA’s Crew-1 mission, which was the first operational launch of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft.

An Extraterrestrial “Channeler” Delivers a Message for Humanity

Article by Arjun Walia                                               January 30, 2021                                          (collective-evolution.com)

• Extraterrestrial-based UFOs are being afforded an unprecedented level of credibility within the mainstream. The idea of people from outer space is longer taboo and has become a serious topic of discussion. But when it comes to claiming to have had contact experiences we still have a ways to go.

• One sort of ET ‘contact experience’ is channeling – or receiving telepathic messages from extraterrestrials. The problem is that very often in channeling you are not communicating with the positive ET being that you think you are, as there are many telepathic tricksters out there. There are many who feel that one Englishman by the name of Dr. George King (1919-1997) (pictured above) truly channeled a benevolent higher being known as ‘Aetherius’ – a highly evolved extraterrestrial from Venus and part of an alliance of several extraterrestrial intelligences from other planets. Beginning in 1954, Aetherius told King, “Prepare yourself, you are to become the voice of interplanetary parliament.”

• For 43 years, from 1954 to1997. Dr. King dedicated himself to the teachings of advanced extraterrestrials to help Mother Earth and humanity as a whole, and to help navigate this period of great change. In order to attain the highest state of consciousness attainable on Earth – Cosmic Consciousness – Dr. King became a Master of Yoga. For more than a decade. Dr. King intensely practiced the higher forms of yoga an average of 8-10 hours per day, in order to master his own psychic abilities and to ultimately reach enlightenment.

• When Dr. King channeled Aetherius, King heard a disembodied voice speaking English to him within the room. The voice told him that he would become a voice in the interplanetary parliament, but King knew nothing about UFOs. In the 1950s there was no one he could turn to, so he threw himself into meditation. To King’s astonishment, his meditation brought forth a very physical Yogi Master whom King recognized, but who currently lived in India. The Yogi Master walked through the unopened door to enter the room, walked across the room and sat down in a chair. Through these types of physical and mental ‘contacts’ Aetherius would bring King new information and instructions, which King would pass along to his followers.

• A newsletter written back in the day by John and Margaret Storm and found in the FBI online archives, is an example of the impact that Dr. King’s channeled messages could have. Also, its worth noting that he FBI had enough interest in it to document it. The Storm’s newsletter provided the precise dates, times and locations of future flying saucer appearances all across North and Central America. Stating that the information had been supplied by George King, the newsletter noted that “George King is considered the best telepathic contact which the space people have”. Dr King’s credibility only grew over the succeeding decades.

• Another confirmation of King’s credibility is demonstrated in how in the 1950s, King relayed that the interplanetary parliament of space people were greatly concerned about Earth human’s use, testing and manufacturing of nuclear weapons. We now know that toward the end of the 1970s, the US Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center actually tried to detonate a couple of nuclear weapons on the Moon to take scientific measurements. But according to AF Colonel Ross Dedrickson, these nuclear devices were destroyed by extraterrestrials before they could be detonated. Dedrickson noted that it was a “major concern” of the extraterrestrials, “to preserve the integrity of the Earth, because it (also) affects their own system….The idea of an explosion in space by any Earth government was not acceptable to the extraterrestrials, and that has been demonstrated over and over.”

• It’s public record that UFOs have been seen, many times, hovering over nuclear missile storage facilities when the missile launching capabilities were shut down. For example, in March of 1967, Captain Robert Salas reported a red, glowing UFO hovering just outside the front gate of Malmstrom Air Force Base missile launch facility in Montana. Suddenly, all of the nuclear missiles shut down and went completely dead.

• A document in the FBI Online Archive mention’s Dr. King’s contact experiences with extraterrestrials in the context of Nikola Tesla claimed to have been brought to Earth from Venus as a baby by “space people”. Tesla once said, “I think that nothing can be more important than interplanetary communication. It will certainly come someday. And the certitude that there are other human beings in the universe, working, suffering, struggling, like ourselves, will produce a magic effect on mankind and will form the foundation of a universal brotherhood that will last as long as humanity itself.”

• Dr. King claimed that these ET beings were concerned about humanity and the direction we are heading. That we need to do a better job at preserving the integrity of the Earth and living at a higher level of consciousness to bring about a better world. Service to others was a big part of the extraterrestrial message that came through him.

• The messages given to Dr, King corroborates with countless examples of continuing communications and events with UFOs and extraterrestrials, even 70 years later. Today, the Aetherius Society follows the teachings and information of Dr. King. A former student of Dr. King, Richard Lawrence, is the Executive Secretary of the Aetherius Society in Europe and Africa.

       Richard Lawrence with Dr. King

“Prepare yourself, you are to become the voice of interplanetary parliament,” is what Dr. George King (1919-1997) was told when he

    Yoga Master Dr. George King

was first contacted by extraterrestrial intelligence in 1954, known to him as “Aetherius,” whom, according to King, was a highly evolved extraterrestrial from Venus and part of an alliance of several extraterrestrial intelligences from other planets.

Before we go any further, please note that CE founder Joe Martino and myself recently sat down with Richard Lawrence for a podcast. Richard is the Executive Secretary for the Aetherius Society Europe and Africa. You can see him pictured above to the left of Dr. King. Lawrence was a close student of Dr. King. It was a very interesting discussion that dives into the topic of extraterrestrial messages, mainstream UFO disclosure, channeling extraterrestrials, spirituality, consciousness, the state of politics, the Aetherius Society and much more. You can listen to that podcast here.

Channeling is the ability to receive telepathic messages from supposed extraterrestrials. Many claim to have this ability, there are many who believe they do but probably don’t, and the idea of channeling extraterrestrials has exploded to the point where it’s hard to know who is being honest with themselves. I find the case of Dr. King to be much different, I personally believe he was one of the few channelers who was truly authentic. I’ve been studying this phenomenon for

                The Aetherius Society

more than fifteen years, and much of what King was relaying to humanity decades ago corroborates with a lot of information that’s come to light about the phenomenon today, in 2021. If there is anyone to consider “credible” within the phenomenon of channeling, I believe Dr. King is one of the best examples.

                 Robert Salas

Dr. King was considered by many to be a Master of Yoga able to enter the highest state of consciousness attainable on Earth – Cosmic Consciousness, also known as nirvana or nirvikalpa samadhi. For more than a decade he had devoted himself to the intense practice of yoga for an average of 8-10 hours per day. Not so much yoga for physical fitness, wellbeing or relaxation, but the higher forms of yoga – for the mastery of psychic abilities and ultimately enlightenment. Dr. King believed, like it says in the ancient mystic Upanishads, that the greatest gift that anyone can give to anyone else is wisdom. And, conversely, that the greatest crime is to cause confusion by giving people the wrong teaching. For 43 years (1954-1997) he dedicated himself to his mission of helping the Mother Earth and helping humanity as a whole navigate this period of great change. This mission was in

   Colonel Ross Dedrickson

essence to spread, and act upon, the teachings of advanced extraterrestrial intelligences.

It was in English, the voice was not in the head, this was no psychic apparition, the voice was outside of myself and it said, prepare yourself you are to become the voice of interplanetary parliament. Well, I had no idea what that meant, I knew nothing about UFOs in those days, I had not studied them, but I have studied Yoga and I studied Yoga long enough to realize that this was very important. And it was eight days after this first event that I decided that the only way that I could solve this mystery, because nobody else could help me and I tried many people, was to go into meditation myself. So I locked myself in the room, fully determined to stay there until I found some answer. Well I didn’t have to stay very long because a man, physical, who I did recognize, he was alive in India at the time, a well known Yogi master, he walked into the room, without me having to open the door by the way, he walked across the floor and sat down in the chair which creaked

New SPACECOM Strategy Warns US Adversaries

Article by Rachel S. Cohen                                      February 1, 2021                                     (airforcemag.com)

• In August 2019, the US Space Command, or ‘SPACECOM’, was revived after being disbanded for 17 years, integrating its work with the other combatant commands that rely on and defend space assets. During a recent AFA Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies event, SPACECOM boss Gen. James H. Dickinson said that the US Space Command must “sustain a warfighting culture and adapt to a dynamic and changing strategic environment,” drawing upon the experience of the other armed forces.

• On February 1st, SPACECOM released a new strategy paper that broadly outlines goals for training, partnerships, and cybersecurity. But in a future with “increasingly capable competitors” and a “long-term security threat” posed by Russia and China, the paper also warns that the United States will hit back if its satellites, radars, and other space systems are endangered.

• As America and its allies expand their space economies and look to permanently return to the Moon, “[the] United States Space Command will always remain ready to prevail against any foreign space-related aggression” reads the strategy paper. “By developing…counter-space capabilities and…military doctrines to extend into space, our [Russian and Chinese] competitors seek to prevent our unfettered access to space and deny our freedom to operate in space.”

• The US military argues it needs to bolster its offense and defense in space to protect the satellites and radars that enable GPS guidance, ATMs, ballistic missile warning, and more. SPACECOM also uses those assets to direct weapons and troops, send information around the world, and collect intelligence—making them targets for those who want to disrupt American military operations.

• Brian Weeden, a director at the Secure World Foundation, says that the 12-page paper, comprised largely of pictures, lacks the detail of previous Pentagon strategy papers. “It reads more like an ad brochure full of chest-thumping assertions than a serious strategic document,” quipped Weeden.

• Weeden recognizes that the military may not be comfortable with publicly discussing developing space operations, and that the fact that there haven’t been any actual space battles, would explain the lack of sophistication for space doctrine relative to the other combat domains.

• Dickinson maintains that job one for SPACECOM is to attract the kind of veteran military talent who can bring various combat experiences to SPACECOM to develop a fully operational combatant command. “That generates combat power almost immediately.”

       Gen. James H. Dickinson

U.S. Space Command in its new strategy paper warns of a future with “increasingly capable competitors” and a “long-term security threat” posed by Russia and China, claiming the right of self-defense as America and its allies expand their space economies and look to permanently return to the moon.

The U.S. military argues it needs to bolster its offense and defense in space to protect the satellites and radars that enable GPS guidance, ATMs, ballistic missile warning, and more. SPACECOM also uses those assets to direct weapons and troops, send information around the world, and collect intelligence—making them targets for those who want to disrupt American military operations.

“By developing, testing, and deploying counter-space capabilities and evolving their military doctrines to extend into space, our competitors seek to prevent our unfettered access to space and deny our freedom to operate in space,” reads the paper, dated Feb. 1.

This is the latest document to warn that the United States will hit back if its satellites, radars, and other space systems are endangered. It also broadly outlines goals for training, partnerships, and cybersecurity. SpaceNews first reported on the strategic vision Jan. 28.

“The United States, along with our allies and partners, will champion and promote the responsible, peaceful, and safe use of space,” according to the strategy. “However, should our nation call, United States Space Command will always remain ready to prevail against any foreign space-related aggression.”

                   Brian Weeden

The document echoes earlier blueprints from the Pentagon and the Space Force, the branch of the military that supplies most systems and personnel to SPACECOM for daily operations. But the 12-page paper, comprised largely of pictures, lacks the detail of previous strategies.

“It reads more like an ad brochure full of chest-thumping assertions than a serious strategic document,” Brian Weeden, director of program planning at the Secure World Foundation, said on Twitter.

He suggested the strategy may miss the mark because the military is not yet comfortable with discussing often-classified space operations in a public forum.

“There is something to be said about the lack of sophistication for space doctrine relative to the other domains because we haven’t had any actual combat in space to draw on,” he told Air Force Magazine.

UAE Creates Space Courts for Extraterrestrial Disputes

February 1, 2021                                          (laprensalatina.com)

• On February 1st, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced an initiative called “Courts of the Future” that will launch “Space Courts” under an independent legal body, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DFIC). “The launch of the project signals to the international space community the intent of the UAE to play a leading role in advancing its judicial systems to specifically direct capacity and capability to commercial space-related disputes,” read a statement.

• The new Space Courts will bring together a group of private and public international bodies and experts with the aim of training of judges to become space-related dispute experts; exploring space-related legal innovations; and creating a “space dispute guide”. The head of the DIFC Supreme Court, Zaki Azmi, said that the courts will help “build a new judicial support network to serve the stringent commercial demands of international space exploration in the 21st century”.

• “As space commerce becomes ever more global and countries ever more connected, diverse and nimble, economies will need to enable growth. Complex commercial agreements will also require an equally innovative judicial system to keep pace, offering assurance and certainty to support and protect businesses,” Azmi said.

• The Dubai International Financial Centre was established in 2004 as an independent judicial system so the UAE’s international community can have “greater confidence in the Emirati legal framework” and to promote commercial relations in the Arab country.

• The announcement came eight days before the UAE’s Hope Mars oribter reached the orbit of Mars on February 9th. The orbiter aims to study the Red Planet’s weather and atmosphere.

Dubai, Feb 1 (efe-epa).- The United Arab Emirates on Monday announced that it will create “Space Courts” with an eye toward

                              Zaki Azmi

developing a judicial system to resolve commercial disputes linked to space as its Hope mission probe is expected to reach Mars within days.

An initiative called “Courts of the Future” will be launched later this year to activate the Space Courts, the Dubai International Financial Centre, an independent legal body, said in a statement.

“The launch of the project signals to the international space community the intent of the UAE to play a leading role in advancing its judicial systems to specifically direct capacity and capability to commercial space-related disputes,” the statement read.

The new court will include a group of private and public international bodies and experts with the aim of “exploring space-related legal innovations” and creating a “space dispute guide.”

It will also be tasked with “training of judges to become space-related dispute experts.”

The courts will help “build a new judicial support network to serve the stringent commercial demands of international space exploration in the 21st century,” the head of the DIFC Supreme Court, Zaki Azmi, said in the statement.

“As space commerce becomes ever more global and countries ever more connected, diverse and nimble, economies will need to enable growth. Complex commercial agreements will also require an equally innovative judicial system to keep pace, offering assurance and certainty to support and protect businesses,” he added.

The Navy Speaks Up About Its “UFO Patent” Experiments

Article by Brett TIngley                                        February 1, 2021                                         (thedrive.com)

• After reporting on the bizarre saga of the US Navy’s “UFO” patents by Dr. Salvatore Pais for over a year and a half, The War Zone has finally gotten an on-the-record comment from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD). In a nutshell, NAWCAD concluded in September 2019 that the “Pais Effect” could not be proven. The Navy has washed its hands with Dr. Pais and his unproven patents, and all research on them has now been taken up by the US Air Force.

• The “Pais Effect” is a theoretical concept for generating high-intensity electromagnetic fields that could lead to breakthroughs in power generation and advanced propulsion, including a futuristic “hybrid aerospace-underwater craft” or ‘HAUC’ (which might have explained the ‘Tic Tac UFO’ that was in the news in 2018).

• The US Navy’s NAWCAD took Dr. Pais’ theories seriously enough to vouch for him to the US Patent Office and to assert that the Chinese had similar “operable” technology. The Navy invested $462,000 in researchers’ salaries plus $96,000 on “equipment, test preparation, testing and assessment” to test Dr. Pais’ patented ‘High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator’ (HEEMFG) theories between October 2016 and September 2019. While a group of Navy researchers obviously got richer, Timothy Boulay, Communications Director at NAWCAD, confirmed that the “Pais Effect” could not be proven and no further research is being conducted by the US Navy.

• So the US Navy knew in September 2019 that Dr. Pais’ theories were a scientific dead-end, but waited until now to say so publicly. Every single physicist that The Drive’s ‘The War Zone’ contacted over two years said that there was no scientific reality to the ‘pseudo-scientific jargon’ found in Dr. Pais’ patents. Still, in November 2019, Dr. Pais assured The War Zone that his work “shall be proven correct one fine day…”

• The bizarre secrecy surrounding this entire endeavor remains remarkably odd. Not until we actually got the images, data, and slides about the program of record that attempted to prove Pais’ theories did the Navy confirm its demise. We may never know why.

After reporting on the bizarre saga of the Navy’s “UFO” patents by Dr. Salvatore Pais for over a year and a half, The War Zone has finally

       Timothy Boulay

gotten an on-the-record comment from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, or NAWCAD, about the scientist’s seemingly out-of-this-world work and the service’s equally strange outright support of it.

As we reported in our last piece, the science and technology branches of the Naval Aviation Enterprise and NAWCAD took the theories of Dr. Pais seriously enough not just to vouch for them at the highest levels to patent examiners, asserting Chinese advances in similar areas of research and that they were ‘operable’ in nature, but to also subsequently invest a significant amount of money and time into researching the so-called “Pais Effect.” This is a theoretical concept for generating high-intensity electromagnetic fields that could supposedly lead to hypothetical breakthroughs in power generation and advanced propulsion. Specifically, the Navy has now responded to inquiries related to the new documentation we uncovered in our most recent report that shows hundreds of thousands of dollars were spent on Pais’s High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator (HEEMFG) experiments, along with other details related to it.

Timothy Boulay, Communications Director at NAWCAD, confirmed several points to The War Zone by email:
– The High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator testing occurred from October 2016 through September 2019;
– The cost was $508,000 over the course of three years. Around ninety percent of the total – $462,000 – was for salaries, while the

         Dr. Salvatore Pais

rest was used for equipment, test preparation, testing and assessment.
– When NAWCAD concluded testing in September 2019, the “Pais Effect” could not be proven.
– No further research has been conducted, and the project has not transitioned to any other government or civilian organization.
While we greatly appreciate the response to our queries, it remains unclear why NAWCAD was unwilling to speak with us until now if they knew all along these experiments resulted in what appears to be a scientific dead-end that resulted in no verification of any of Pais’s theories.

In addition to the statements above, Boulay added the following about the inventor of the Navy’s “UFO patents”:
The latest on Dr. Pais: you might remember that he left NAWCAD in June 2019 and moved to the Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs organization. I found that he transferred to the U.S. Air Force this month.

We are still working with NAWCAD to determine where Pais was transferred within the research organizations of the USAF. Pais’s first move from NAWCAD to Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) office was somewhat interesting given that one of Pais’s most eyebrow-raising patents was for a “hybrid aerospace-underwater craft.” SSP oversees the development and sustainment of the Navy’s nuclear-armed submarine-launched ballistic missiles.

Public Interest in UFOs Growing

Article by Blake Bacho                                             February 1, 2021                                        (monroenews.com)

• Public interest in extraterrestrial life is at an all-time high, thanks in part to some recent developments at the federal government level. In August, the Pentagon formed a UAP Task Force dedicated to investigating UFOs observed by US military aircraft. And the $2.3 trillion coronavirus relief bill signed in December contained a stipulation requiring US intelligence agencies to disclose any and all information they have regarding UFOs to Congress within the next six months.

• The Michigan Mutual UFO Network (MIMUFON), a nonprofit organization that records and investigates UFO sightings, reported 233 sightings across Michigan in 2020. MIMUFON Director Bill Konkolesky said his organization averages around 160 reports a year. He attributed the higher number of reports for 2020 to not only the Starlink satellites, but the fact that the pandemic kept people at home leaving them with more time on their hands to look up in the sky.

• The high number of UFO reports may be attributed to misidentified Starlink satellites. “They’ve (the satellites) been sort of the bane of our existence since late 2019, because everybody has reported them as flying saucers…” says Konkolesky. “It’s a chain of satellites, they are in a formation in a single line… It’s a cool idea, but they look really eerie and people report them as UFOs.”

• Two cases that weren’t reported to MIMUFON are nevertheless intriguing, and are “worthy of investigation” says Konkolesky. On January 24th, Kristy Mariano was in her Detroit Beach, Michigan home late at night when outside of her window she happened to notice her neighbors outside gawking up at the sky. When she went into the backyard, she looked up and saw three huge lights in the sky, dancing around. “It was really strange,” said Mariano. “I was thinking it’s not an airplane, and it wasn’t a drone either because it was really, really low, and when it was passing by the clouds kept moving and moving and the stars were so bright…”. The lights disappeared after exactly 45 minutes. “It was so crazy,” she said. “I never believed in this kind of stuff before, but now I kind of do.”

• In October 2020, Monroe, Michigan resident Carl Walcz was taking photos of the Moon. But when he later looked at the photos, he noticed that in one of the photos there appeared a bluish-green object floating in the sky. “I never did see it when I was taking a picture of it,” Walcz said. “For all I know it could be something (that got stuck on) the camera or anything… But it’s too well-defined to be, and none of my other pictures that I took (had it). I took like two pictures right in a row of that same shot, and in one of them it was there and the other one it wasn’t.”

• Those dedicated to proving that we are not alone in the universe say it’s getting much more difficult to separate examples of truly inexplicable phenomena from the more common cases of mistaken identity. “One thing I often say is that if the Moon disappeared for a month, how many people would notice?” quipped Konkolesky. “I just don’t think people are looking up.”

                     Bill Konkolesky

Kristy Mariano was inside her Detroit Beach home late last Sunday night when she happened to notice something peculiar outside of her window. Many of her neighbors were outside gawking up at the sky.

Taking her dog with her, Mariano went into her backyard to see what all the fuss was about. When she looked up, she couldn’t believe what she saw.

“I see three big, like huge lights in the sky, and they’re dancing around,” she said. “It was really strange. I was thinking it’s not an airplane, and it wasn’t a drone either because it was really, really low, and when it was passing by the clouds kept moving and moving and the stars were so bright…

Mariano said the lights disappeared after exactly 45 minutes.

“It was so crazy,” she said. “I never believed in this kind of stuff before, but now I kind of do.”

Like Mariano, Monroe native Carl Walcz wasn’t really a believer in flying saucers or little green men. But one night this past October while he was taking photos of the moon, he stumbled across something he just could not explain: in just one of his pictures, there appeared a bluish-green object floating in the sky.

                photo that Carl Walcz took

“I never did see it when I was taking a picture of it,” Walcz said. “For all I know it could be something (that got stuck on) the camera or anything… But it’s too well-defined to be, and none of my other pictures that I took (had it). I took like two pictures right in a row of that same shot, and in one of them it was there and the other one it wasn’t.”

Mariano and Walcz are certainly not the first people who have ever claimed to see Unidentified Flying Objects, and they certainly won’t be the last. But those who are dedicated to proving that we are not alone in the universe say it’s getting much more difficult to separate examples of truly inexplicable phenomena from the more common cases of mistaken identity.

The Michigan Mutual UFO Network (MIMUFON), a nonprofit organization that records and investigates UFO sightings, reported 233 sightings across Michigan in 2020 – only two of which were located in Monroe County. Both of those cases have been identified, meaning that MIMUFON investigators determined a known explanation for the sightings.

The Official Space Force Ranks

Article by Oriana Pawlyk                                             January 29, 2021                                             (military.com)

• The US Space Force’s new ranking system for its enlisted members and officers mostly mirrors that Air Force’s ranks. The Space Force ranks took effect on February 1, 2021.

• In December, former-Vice President Mike Pence announced that space professionals would be called Guardians. Space Force junior enlisted members between E-1 and E-4 will now be called specialists (like the Army). E-5 personnel are sergeant and E-6 are technical sergeant. The most senior E-9 rank is the Chief Master Sergeant. Chief Master Sgt. Roger Towberman, the senior enlisted adviser to the service, will officially assume that top enlisted title. Officer ranks from second lieutenant to general will be the same as the Air Force’s ranking. There will be no changes to benefits entitlements.

• In July, Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, proposed an amendment in the fiscal 2021 National Defense Authorization Act requiring “the same system and rank structure as is used in the Navy” for the Space Force. A Navy rank system would make sense for the Space Force, experts have said. Other space enthusiasts have noted on social media that “Space Admiral just sounds better.”

• Even William Shatner – the actor who portrayed Capt. James Kirk of the USS Enterprise in the original “Star Trek” series – initially backed Crenshaw’s idea. In an op-ed titled, “What the heck is wrong with you, Space Force?” published in Military Times in August 2020, Shatner said, “When you unveiled the Space Force logo, many immediately saw it as an homage to ‘Star Trek’ (even though our Delta was an homage to the previous military space insignias). Why not borrow back from ‘Star Trek’ and adopt our ranks as well?” he wrote. “We took them from the Navy for good reason.”

• “A good reason to use Navy ranks in the Space Force is to better distinguish [Space Force] personnel from Air Force personnel, kind of like [the Marine Corps] using different ranks than the Navy,” said Todd Harrison, director of the Aerospace Security Project at the Center for Strategic & International Studies. But lawmakers ultimately ditched Crenshaw’s provision on naval ranks.

• Space Force has so far debuted its organizational structure; official logo, seal, flag and motto; a dark navy-colored name tape; and a lapel pin. The service still lacks an official dress uniform, physical fitness uniform and mess dress uniform; an official song; patch and insignia wear. It has released three commercials to attract new recruits.

[Editor’s Note]  For years, Congress has managed to do next to nothing. Apparently, our “lawmakers” only step in when they feel it is time to screw things up. An ‘Admiral’ of a Starship makes so much more sense than a ‘General’. Did they do the opposite of Dan Crenshaw’s proposal simply because he is a Republican? It is clear that Congress is occupied by complete morons. It is time to clear them out, tell the public what is really going on, and to start all over for the sake of our country.

The U.S. Space Force finally has an official rank structure for its enlisted members and officers, a service spokesman has confirmed to Military.com.

A leaked memo first posted on the popular Facebook page Amn/Nco/Snco detailed the new ranks, which nearly mirror Air Force ranks.

Instead of “airman,” junior enlisted members between E-1 and E-4 will be called specialists, according to the document. The Army is the other service with a specialist rank, for troops in the E-4 paygrade.

While the Air Force has staff and technical sergeants, the Space Force E-5 rank will be known as sergeant, followed by technical sergeant for E-6. Officer ranks — second lieutenant to general — will remain the same as its sister service.

     Rep. Dan Crenshaw

The new rank structure takes effect Feb. 1, the memo states.

The most senior member is the Chief Master Sergeant of the Space Force, an E-9 rank, the memo adds. Chief Master Sgt. Roger Towberman, the senior enlisted adviser to the service, will officially assume that title effective next week, the spokesman said.

Chief Master Sgt. Roger Towberman

There will be no changes to benefits entitlements, according to the memo.

Some speculated that the Space Force, which is part of the Department of the Air Force, would adopt its parent service’s rank structure; others argued for using the Navy’s rank system — which is what some lawmakers intended.

In July, Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, proposed an amendment in the fiscal 2021 National Defense Authorization Act requiring “the same system and rank structure as is used in the Navy” for the Space Force, according to a House summary of the text.

Space Force officials said they were ready to move forward, but because of the measure, the service halted announcing its decision at that time.

A Navy rank system would make sense for the Space Force, experts have said. Other space enthusiasts have noted on social media that “Space Admiral just sounds better.”

US Gov Brought Down ET Craft With Bodies Inside Says FBI Doc

Article by Arjun Walia                                            January 27, 2021                                        (collective-evolution.com)

• Former Canadian Defence Minister Paul Hellyer claimed that the protocol when military jets were scrambled to intercept a UFO was to “shoot first and ask questions after.” Last year, Pentagon UFO program astrophysicist Eric W. Davis confirmed retrievals of “off-world vehicles not made on this Earth.” Apollo 13 astronaut Edgar Mitchell once told the world: “Yes there have been crashed craft, and bodies recovered.”

• Numerous stories suggest that multiple governments have been successful in bringing down UFO craft in an attempt to find out more about them and reverse engineer them ever since the 1941 Cape Girardeau UFO crash and the two Roswell UFO crashes in 1947. Former Air Force officer and US Atomic Energy commissioner Colonel Ross Dedrickson blamed the Roswell crashes on the disruption in the magnetic field caused by the detonation of nuclear weapons in the region, crippling the UFO craft’s navigation system.

• The most viewed document in the public FBI archive is an account of an Air Force investigator written by FBI agent Guy Hottel to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover. According to Hottel, the Air Force investigator claimed that three flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico (two near Roswell in 1947, one near Aztec in 1948). They were described as being circular in shape with raised centers, approximately 50 feet in diameter. Each one was occupied by three bodies of human shape but only 3 feet tall, dressed in metallic cloth of a very fine texture. Each body was bandaged in a manner similar to the blackout suits used by speed flyers and test pilots. According to the informant, the saucers crashed in New Mexico due to high-powered military radar in the area interfering with the controlling mechanisms of the saucers. Of course, others have subsequently claimed that the story was a hoax.

• The FBI document is from the 1950s, a time when UFOs were popular within the mainstream due to an explosion of UFO sightings after the US dropped the atomic bomb. Even President Truman stated that the subject of UFOs is brought up at “every conference that they’ve had with the military.” “[T]here’s always things like that going on, flying saucers,” said Truman, “and they’ve had other things you know.” This was also around the time in 1952 when a formation of UFOs flew over Washington DC unimpeded.

• If all of this was going on 70 years ago, what has been happening today? Not a lot. People have lost trust in the government to tell us the truth. Big media is being exposed as complicit in the mind-control of the public’s perception of events and issues. People are recognizing the illicit connections among intelligence agencies, government and big corporations.

• Still, after decades of ridicule and secrecy, UFO disclosure is exploding in the mainstream media. People are seriously considering the idea that we are being visited by other beings. Hopefully, the public’s awakening to the reality and acceptance of UFOs will be a catalyst to our awakening to the true nature of our reality, the prospect of a higher purpose in life, and the potential power of our collective human consciousness.

    astronaut Edgar Mitchell

Apollo 13 astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell once told the world that “Yes there have been crashed craft, and bodies recovered.” He is seen

        Defence Minister Paul Hellyer

making these statements in this documentary. Eric W. Davis, a renowned astrophysicist who worked with the Pentagon UFO program stated that he gave a classified briefing to a Defense Department Agency, as recently as March 2020 about retrievals from “off-world vehicles not made on this Earth.” Christopher Mellon, a former Deputy Assistant Defense Secretary for Intelligence from 1997 to 2002 has confirmed that he was present during this testimony. He himself has been quite outspoken about the phenomenon over the past few years. Dr. David Clarke, an investigative journalist, reader and lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University who was also the curator for The National Archives UFO Project from 2008–2013, came across some interesting documents suggesting that the UK was desperate to capture UFO technology. Paul Hellyer, former Canadian defence minister claimed that the protocol when military jets were scrambled to intercept a UFO was to “shoot first and ask questions after.”

The thought of attempting show aggressive actions against objects that show no aggression themselves is concerning to me. This activity on our part (humans) comes when the behaviour of these objects are not indicative of any type of threat. They often perform evasive maneuvers to avoid our aircraft and the majority of the time, there is no type of retaliation observed. This makes one question our own behaviour and the way our governments have responded to the UFO phenomenon, it’s not something to be proud of in my opinion.

    astrophysicist Eric W. Davis

The information above isn’t even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the topic of crash/UFO retrievals. There are numerous stories suggesting that multiple governments have been successful in bringing down these craft in an attempt to find out more about them and also, perhaps, reverse engineer them. Roswell is not the only case. Here’s an article I’ve wrote about the 1941 Cape Girardeau UFO crash, for example.

    Colonel Ross Dedrickson

Colonel Ross Dedrickson, who had a long stint with the Air Force as well as the US Atomic Energy commision claimed that the detonation of nuclear weapons polluted the magnetic field which some of these craft relied on to operate.

What Happened: A document that made some noise within the mainstream in 2013 due to the fact that’s it’s been viewed more than 1 million times and is, according to the FBI, their most viewed document, reads as follows

An investigator from the Air Force stated that three so-called flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico.

According to Mr. (redacted) informant, the saucers were found in New Mexico due to the fact that the Government has a very high-powered radar set-up in that area and it is believed the radar interferes with the controlling mechanisms of the saucers.

Grandpa Called Star People Our Ancestors, “They Meant Us No Harm”

Article by Arjun Walia                                              January 25, 2021                                      (collective-evolution.com)

• Richard Wagamese, a Native American storytellers from the Wabaseemoong First Nation in Northwestern Ontario, writes, “My people tell of Star People who came to us many generations ago. The Star People brought spiritual teachings and stories and maps of the cosmos and they offered these freely. They were kind, loving and set a great example. When they left us, my people say there was a loneliness like no other.”

• Stephane Wuttunee, a Plains Cree and French Canadian author and storyteller, notes that when it comes to understanding the extraterrestrial phenomena, Native American culture gives far greater attention to the seeking of the spiritual understanding of things. Growing up, Wuttunee learned about the Star People around campfires and during traditional ceremonies. They were never a people to be afraid of.

• Dr. Ardy Clarke, a Cherokee/Choctaw and Professor Emeritus at Montana State University, also grew up being told about the Star People from her family and elders. She has written multiple books entitled: Encounters With Star People, Untold Stories of American Indians documenting stories of encounters between extraterrestrials and Native American Indians.

• Clarke tells of a man named Darren who tells the story of his grandfather who, in the 1940s, witnessed a spacecraft landing in New Mexico around the same time as the Roswell crashes. His grandfather and some of his friends came across an alien wandering the desert. They hid the alien from government soldiers. The alien died and they buried him.

• Darren says that when he was young, he saw an alien come to his grandfather’s hogan, or house. Darren didn’t recognize the being as an extraterrestrial, but told his grandfather that there was a stranger outside. The stranger was tall with dark skin and dark eyes. His clothes were brown and form fitting. He had on a strange pair of boots with pointed toes. He wore gloves and a tight elastic hood over his head. The stranger told his grandfather that he was part of a ‘small exploring party’, and had gotten lost when his geo-positioning equipment had quit working. So Darren and his grandfather took the stranger into the canyon and back to his craft on the other side of the ridge.

• After that encounter, whenever Darren’s grandfather told stories he would begin with ‘it happened before the Star Man’ or ‘after the Star Man.’ My grandfather said that when he was a boy there were many stories about Star People, but this encounter had been only the second time he had ever seen one. He mostly talked about how they were ‘our ancestors’ who had visited Earth from the beginning of time. They were friendly and meant us no harm. “They come to remind us to keep everything in harmony”, his grandfather told him. The Star people also brought animals and plants to earth, and would come back and check on them.

• Darren described the space craft as dull silver in color, with no windows and a door that melded with the craft when closed. Darren was warned not to touch the craft. When Darren and his grandfather got to the craft other extraterrestrial men came out to greet them as friends. The Star Men bowed to his grandfather, and they stood there and talked. When the beings boarded their craft, Darren and his grandfather stood at a distance while the craft moved upward. Amazingly, it didn’t even stir the dust on the ground below.

• Darren said that the Star Man appeared two more times when he was much older. The second time, his grandfather gave the Star Man a gift of a pouch with turquoise stones which pleased the being. The final time he came, his grandfather was in his 80s and sick in bed. Late at night, the Star Man appeared suddenly without warning. He walked over to my grandfather’s bed and knelt over him. After a moment or two, he walked out. His grandfather told him that the Star Man came to say they were waiting for him. Three days later, Darren’s grandfather died at the town clinic.

• Just hours before he passed, his grandfather told Darren that the Star Men would be coming for him. After his grandfather’s passing, Darren would often work in the workshop behind his grandfather’s hogan. Recently, Darren arrived at the hogan to find the pouch with the turquois rocks sitting in the doorway. “I think it was my grandfather’s way of letting me know that everything was okay with him,” says Darren. “I have no other explanation.”

                         Dr. Ardy Clarke

Richard Wagamese, who was one of Canada’ foremost authors and storytellers from the Wabaseemoong First Nation in Northwestern Ontario, once wrote, “My people tell of Star People who came to us many generations ago. The Star People brought spiritual teachings and stories and maps of the cosmos and they offered these freely. They were kind, loving and set a great example. When they left us, my people say there was a loneliness like no other.”

Another example from Canada comes from Stephane Wuttunee, who is a Plains Cree and French Canadian author and storyteller. He has explained that his perception and understanding of the ET phenomena as a Native person and its global implications comes from having been partially raised within the culture itself. He has made it a clear point to mention that they “give far greater attention to the seeking of the spiritual understanding of things.” He heard about “distant relations and Star People living amongst the stars many times, mainly around campfires and during traditional ceremonies. Far from being anything to be feared, Star People was just another term I grew up around.”

                      Richard Wagamese

Stories of the Star People are well documented in Native Canadian and Native American lore, and in this article I will share a story, as I’ve done so many times before, from the work of Dr. Ardy Clarke, a Professor Emeritus at Montana State University who is Cherokee/Choctaw. She has been researching the Star People and collecting encounters between them and Native Indians for many years. She also grew up being told about the Star People from her family and elders.

She’s written multiple books documenting her research. This particular one is taken from her book, “Encounters With Star People, Untold Stories of American Indians.”

The Story: In this particular story, Clarke spoke to a man connected through a mutual friend, on the Navajo Indian Reservation, named Darren. Clarke spoke to his aunt, who was the one who told her of his extraterrestrial experience.

I am not the first in my family to see the Sky Gods. My grandfather told me that one time a spacecraft landed over in New Mexico and some Indians hid an alien.”
Said Darren.

He said it happened “Back in the 40s. It was about the same time as Roswell.”

My grandfather said that he and some of his friends came upon the alien wandering in the desert. They realized he was one of the Sky Gods and they hid him from the government soldiers. He died though and they buried him.

Ziggy Marley Talks About UFOs

Article by Claudia Gardner                                          January 23, 2021                                        (dancehallmag.com)

• On Thursday January 21st, Rastafarian reggae music legend Bob Marley’s eldest son, the current pop singer Ziggy Marley (51), posted on his Instagram page with over 1.2 million followers, a post entitled “Can we talk about the UFOs, Extraterrestrial Flying Objects now?” along with a graphic of a grainy, grayscale photograph with a black dot resembling a bug in the center of it.

• “So much was happening in 2020 we could have missed it,” wrote Ziggy. “[T]he “governments afraid to open the eyes of the people’ and “we need to get the whole truth” as “the mass acceptance of this knowledge/truth will reset and expand the mindset of people”.

• Ziggy seemed engrossed with the UFO topic as he posted several other comments, and kept himself very engaged with his followers’ comments. “Already know life exists beyond this planet. It’s just something I know it is inborn. It is good to see it revealed through credible channels so the minds that are closed can be open.”

• In response to a fan comment, “We are not alone, for sure,” Ziggy agreed, writing: “[H]umanity needs to wake up and work together for this planet. We definitely haven’t been alone yet we are so lonely in this universe.” When another Instagram follower commented that there were “Humans throughout the galaxy”, Ziggy replied: “yea I feel that. One humanity we are all different but share something common that connects us.”

• While Ziggy received a large number of supportive messages and testimonies of sightings of extra-terrestrial beings, there was a lot of jeering, particularly from Americans. “Legend has it that they only come too earth to listen to Reggae music then fly back to their universe singing don’t worry about a thing,” one troll jeered. Another troll wrote: “Kinda looks like bigfoot to me…” Still another troll posted: “If it Hasn’t been confirmed by THE SIMPSONS then it isn’t.”

• Another dubious commenter noted that Ziggy’s “flying objects” were actually specially designed US military aircraft to which regular people were unaccustomed. “US have been making airplanes that look like disk and other shapes since the 1900’s. Come on now. They have pictures and show us to our faces ain’t no EFO or ETs,” Another commenter chimed in: “No brothers it’s our own government flying those don’t let them fool ya’ll.” “My money is on UFOs being our own government. They have technology beyond our imagination that they don’t tell us about.” But Ziggy stood his ground, responding: “ok, if you say so that’s’ a cool. Then I must ask what are the extraterrestrials using for transportation these days?”

• One skeptic even implied that Ziggy’s his claims of extraterrestrials run contrary to the Rastafarian faith and the Bible: “I think it’s an intriguing subject, but even with today’s technology we don’t have a detail pic or vid of this objects… always blurry. Also I don’t think the Bible mentions any other races that JAH created.”

• Some Instagram commenters, including ex-military personnel, insisted that they had seen extraterrestrial beings with their own eyes. Said one commenter: “I got a video of one (UFO) pulsating in Illinois. I wish could share it here, I saw them another time in Phillipsberg, Montana. The altitude was way up there.” Another commenter wrote: “I saw one in Colorado in the mountains when I was in the military, scared the crap out of me and a squadmate who was guard with me. We hid in a bush and just watched for about two hours.”

• Some commenters claimed that the extraterrestrials could be “from the future” and the “government” was hiding it: “[W]hat if they are just humans from the future in their time machine?” “There is definitely Babylon government secrets hiding the alien vehicles.” Another proposed a time-machine theory: “I always thought they might be us but from the future. Time traveling craft. Perhaps coming back to earth from another planet we inhabited thousands of years from now. Our present is their past…”

• One female commenter told Ziggy that she hoped the UFOs would be “more benevolent than human beings.” Ziggy replied: “[I]f the only source of their meaningful contact is governments and military and the knowledge is held in secret then we will have issues all humanity should be made aware of the truth of these connections.”

• Last July, the New York Times published an article titled “No Longer in Shadows, Pentagon’s U.F.O. Unit Will Make Some Findings Public” which noted that “despite Pentagon statements that it disbanded a once-covert program to investigate unidentified flying objects, the effort remains underway — renamed and tucked inside the Office of Naval Intelligence.” The article goes on to say that government officials continue to “study mystifying encounters between military pilots and unidentified aerial vehicles,” and quotes Senator Marco Rubio expressing his concerns “that China or Russia or some other adversary had made “some technological leap” that “allows them to conduct this sort of activity”. Rubio says that “some of the unidentified aerial vehicles over US bases possibly exhibited technologies not in the American arsenal” and that “maybe there is a completely, sort of, boring explanation for it. But we need to find out.”

Ziggy Marley’s Instagram page has been awash with drama since Thursday afternoon, after the Rastafarian singer posted an

                      Bob Marley

image and a series of statements, acknowledging the existence of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects), which he referred to as ‘Extraterrestrial Flying Vehicles’.

According to Ziggy’s statements, the “governments afraid to open the eyes of the people’ and “we need to get the whole truth” as “the mass acceptance of this knowledge/truth will reset and expand the mindset of people”.

While he got a large number of supportive messages and even testimonies of sightings of extra-terrestrial beings, there was a lot of jeering, particularly from Americans, who felt the Love is My Religion singer had gone bonkers.

Ziggy’s graphic contained a grainy, grayscale photograph with a black dot resembling a bug in the center of it, with the words “Can we talk about the UFOs, Extraterrestrial Flying Objects now?’ “So much was happening in 2020 we could have missed it. #EFO not #UFO,” the Tomorrow People artiste who has more than 1.2 million followers captioned the post.

Harvard Scientist Says Solar System is Full of ET Ships

Article by Berny Torre                                           January 23, 2021                                            (dailystar.co.uk)

• In September 2017, a Hawaiian observatory using the highest definition telescope available detected an object traveling at 450,000mph from direction of the star, Vega, some 25 light-years away, which had entered our solar system. The elongated space object was dubbed “Oumuamua”, Hawaiian for “scout”. The object was studied by Harvard astronomy professor Avi Loeb (pictured above). Loeb noted that Oumuamua “showed an excess push away from the Sun, in addition to the Sun’s gravitational force acting on it”.

• Comets are known to swerve wildly away from the Sun due to evaporation, creating their distinctive tails. But no tail was seen on this object which instead accelerated smoothly from the Sun. Professor Loeb noted that Oumuamua’s change of speed suggested it lost about a tenth of its mass, which is quite a lot. “[W]e should have seen a very clear cloud of gas around it,” said Loeb. But they didn’t. Loeb’s conclusion was that the object was ‘powered’ by the light of the Sun. Therefore, the most rational explanation for Oumuamua was that it held alien technology. It was, in essence, an extraterrestrial craft.

• Professor Loeb has written a book called, Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth. In it, Loeb says that the space object shot past Earth before “moving swiftly toward the constellation Pegasus and the blackness beyond”. Given the odds of such an extraterrestrial object traveling through our solar system, Loeb surmises that “there should be one in every volume roughly the size of the orbit of the Earth around the Sun. …So it means that there are plenty of them, a quadrillion of them, inside the Oort cloud. Inside the solar system.” A quadrillion extraterrestrial spaceships within our solar system – with humans outnumbered 140,000 to one.

• Professor Loeb believes more spaceships like Oumuamua are on the way, close enough so that human technology should soon allow us to detect these objects every month.

                        Oumuamua

A top Harvard astronomer says our Solar System could be filled with a quadrillion alien spaceships.

That’s one followed by 15 zeroes with humans outnumbered 140,000 to one.

Professor Avi Loeb reckons a space rock that visited Earth in 2017 was an alien – and believes more are on the way with a “quadrillion” similar objects within our Solar System alone.

The academic told the New Statesman that “there should be one in every volume roughly the size of the orbit of the Earth around the sun… it’s pretty small. So it means that there are plenty of them, a quadrillion of them, inside the Oort cloud. Inside the solar system. There are lots of them.”

Prof Loeb, who runs the Department of Astronomy at one of the world’s most prestigious universities, claimed an object travelled towards Earth’s solar system from the direction of Vega, some 25 light-years away, and intercepted our solar system’s orbital plane on September 6, 2017.

Passenger Films Plane’s Near Collision With ‘UFO’

Article by Jess Hardiman                                               January 20, 2021                                           (ladbible.com)

• On January 17th just before 8am, a Singapore Airlines flight was heading to land at Zurich Airport in Switzerland when, an anonymous passenger had turned on their camera in preparation to record the plane’s landing. In the video clip (below) lakes and fields of the distant Swiss landscape can be seen out the plane’s window before the aircraft begins to tilt to the right to apparently dodge something in the sky. As the plane’s engines roar and passengers began to panic, a small white object suddenly zips past the plane, just below its flight path. According to reports, the pilot followed safety protocol and managed to avoid the UFO, making a safe landing at Zurich Airport.

• Earlier in January, former British Ministry of Defence (MoD) staffer, Nick Pope, said he believes that the ‘clock is ticking’ on new UFO revelations that could have worldwide significance. “There’s a momentum building up,” says Pope. “The clock is now ticking on the (US) Senate Intelligence Committee’s demand for a report on the UFO phenomenon from the Director of National Intelligence.” Pope is referring to a 180 day deadline for government intelligence agencies to disclose their declassified UFO reports, which was triggered by the recent enactment of the Intelligence Authorization Act.

• “[T]he US Department of Defense has known since June of the committee’s request, and the US Navy’s Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Task Force is probably already working on drafting the response,” noted Pope. “[S]o we may get it sooner than the late June deadline.” “This report, important though it may be, is only one part of a wider process. There’s a lot going on and we’re going to see some big UFO stories in 2021.”

• Nick Pope says that the American military’s ‘UAP Task Force’ has shared some of its findings with its British counterparts, and that the MoD is looking into UFO/UAP sightings despite its official position that it has no interest in UFOs. “I’m aware that the UAP Task Force has shared some interim findings with the UK and other allies,” said Pope. “[B]ut I don’t know if the MoD has formally engaged with the US on this, or has simply noted the findings.”

• “Officially, the position of the (British) MoD is that they’re no longer interested, and haven’t been since UFO investigations were terminated at the end of 2009,” says Pope. “However, I understand from reliable and well-placed sources that this isn’t entirely correct, and that sightings are still being looked at, in the margins of other defense business, with terms like ‘UFO’ being scrupulously avoided, to try to avoid creating Freedom of Information Act liability.” “The UFO phenomenon is global, so no single nation has a monopoly on any of this.”

Video footage from a plane shows what a passenger reckons may have been a UFO zooming past them – with the clip showing the pilot apparently dodging something in the sky.

The Singapore Airlines flight was heading to Zurich Airport, Switzerland, on 17 January.

At some point between 7.30am and 7.50am, the unnamed passenger had turned on their camera in preparation to record the plane’s landing into Zurich, but was surprised when he captured what he believes was a near collision with a UFO.

              Nick Pope

In the clip, we see lakes and fields of the distant Swiss landscape, before the aircraft begins to tilt to the right.

A small white object then suddenly zips past the plane, just below its flight path.

According to reports, the pilot followed safety protocol as the plane’s engines roared, while passengers began to panic.

Thankfully, the pilot managed to avoid the unidentified flying object and later made a safe landing at Zurich Airport.

LADbible has reached out to Singapore Airlines for comment.

Earlier this month, a UFO expert said he believed ‘clock is ticking’ on new revelations that could have worldwide significance.

Nick Pope explained how a task force, set up by the US government, has shared some findings with its British counterparts.

Pope claims that sources have told him that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) is looking into sightings despite its official position that it has no interest in UFOs.

Navy UFO Patents Testing “Space-Time Modification Weapon”

Article by Brett Tingley                                             January 26, 2021                                             (thedrive.com)

• The latest round of The War Zone’s Freedom of Information Act responses by the US Navy focuses on the Navy’s testing of the bizarre inventions of Dr. Salvatore Cezar Pais. Citing Chinese advances in similar futuristic propulsion technologies. Pais’ inventions have been supported by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) and successfully patented.

The War Zone has received hundreds of pages of detailed technical drawings, photographs, and data related to the Navy’s NAWCAD testing of Pais’ inventions between 2017 and 2019, and particularly the “High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator” (HEEMFG). US Navy spent at least $466,810 on a team of at least ten technicians and engineers who put in over 1,600 hours toward the design and testing of an experimental demonstrator, and to assemble technical papers and final reports.

• Dr. Pais’s inventions are said to be enabled through what Pais describes as “the Pais Effect”, a theoretical physics concept where the “controlled motion of electrically charged matter changes it from a solid to plasma via accelerated spin and vibration under rapid (yet smooth) acceleration-deceleration-acceleration transients.” This effect creates incredibly powerful electromagnetic energy fields that can “engineer the fabric of our reality at the most fundamental level”, leading to incredible revolutions in power and propulsion, quantum communications, energy production, and even weaponry.

• The documentation reveals that the NAWCAD felt this technology has “National Security importance in leading to the generation of Thermonuclear Fusion Ignition Energy with commercial as well as military application potential, in ensuring National Energy Dominance.” It is unknown whether the HEEMFG has transitioned to other DoD agencies such as DARPA.

• The devices tested appear to have been benchtop or multiple versions of Pais’s High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator concept. The devices used spinning capacitors to “demonstrate the experimental feasibility of achieving high electromagnetic field-energy flux values toward the design of advanced high energy density/high power propulsion systems.” Often when new experimental systems are tested, subsequent experiments work toward mastering different aspects of a particular design before bringing everything together once the separate components are proven to be feasible. It’s unclear whether or not the HEEMFG test article was designed to focus on maturing just one part of the complete system.

• One document describes how Pais’ Plasma Compression Fusion Device patent could be used to design a “Spacetime Modification Weapon” that makes a hydrogen bomb seem more like a firecracker, in comparison.

• As with all of the patent documentation received so far, it appears even NAWCAD’s testing could not validate the claimed “Pais Effect.” Nevertheless, a Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAVAIR) quad chart published in September 2018 states that NAVAIR is aiming to transition the Pais technology in 2019.

• These new documents show that Pais’ inventions were not solely the product of an enigmatic maverick inventor, but received support from the highest levels of the US Navy’s NAWCAD and led to research projects and experiments with an eye on producing exotic new forms of propulsion and weaponry. The patents appear to be hypothetical applications of theoretical physics that no mainstream physicist thinks is feasible, but are viable enough to the US Navy to continue testing. Yet considering there have been all types of theories behind these patents, ranging from a government disinformation campaign to alien emulation technology, it is still inconclusive what is going on here.

         Dr. Salvatore Cezar Pais

In our continuing investigation into the bizarre inventions of Dr. Salvatore Cezar Pais, an enigmatic aerospace engineer who works for the U.S. Navy, The War Zone has just obtained a wide range of documents detailing experiments that the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) conducted to test the core concepts and technologies underlying his seemingly out of this world “UFO patents.” These same patents were vouched for by the head of the Navy’s aerospace research enterprise who cited Chinese advances in similar technologies as one of the reasons why the Navy was filing them.

The War Zone’s most recent report on the strange circumstances surrounding these patents underlined that there were indeed some type of physical experiments conducted related to them, even if very limited. Now, new Freedom of Information Act releases provide unprecedented insights not just into how seriously the Navy took Dr. Pais’s work, but also exactly how elements of it were actually tested at the cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars and where the program may have ended up. The materials even include mention of a “Spacetime Modification Weapon (SMW- a weapon that can make the Hydrogen bomb seem more like a firecracker, in comparison).”

The releases, which are all related to a Naval Innovative Science and Engineering – Basic & Applied Research Program under the project name “The High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator (HEEMFG),” contain hundreds of pages containing detailed technical drawings, photographs, and data related to actual tests of the HEEMFG. The system was meant to evaluate the feasibility of Dr. Salvatore Pais’s claimed “Pais Effect.” If you haven’t yet read about the ongoing saga of the enigmatic Dr. Pais and the science-fiction-like inventions he made on behalf of the Navy, be sure to get caught up on our previous reporting.

Each one of Dr. Pais’s inventions is stated to be enabled through what he himself described to The War Zone as “the Pais Effect,” a theoretical physics concept that is claimed to be enabled through the “controlled motion of electrically charged matter (from solid to plasma) via accelerated spin and/or accelerated vibration under rapid (yet smooth) acceleration-deceleration-acceleration transients.” This effect, the inventor claims, can lead to incredibly powerful electromagnetic energy fields that can “engineer the fabric of our reality at the most fundamental level” leading to incredible revolutions in power and propulsion, quantum communications, energy production, and even weaponry.

These latest internal documents, which The War Zone obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), show that NAWCAD felt this technology has “National Security importance in leading to the generation of thermonuclear Fusion Ignition Energy with commercial as well as military application potential, in ensuring National Energy Dominance.”

Kesha’s Summoning Aliens Because of Demi Lovato

Article by Saman Javed                                              January 17, 2021                                                (unilad.co.uk)

• Pop singer Kesha has a podcast called ‘Kesha and the Creepies’ where she invites other pop musicians to talk about ‘anything supernatural and anything unexplainable’. “I’m talking to musicians about the craziest stuff we’ve ever gone through. All different kinds of people from all over the world, and giving their wildest experiences,” Kesha says. “It’s just helping my perspective grow. Just seeing the world and spirituality and the supernatural from everybody’s different perspectives. It’s so interesting to me because I’ve always been into that.”

• On December 18th, Kesha had pop singer Demi Lovato on her podcast. Lovato told Kesha that she had an ET experience with Dr. Steven Greer, the founder of the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence, when Lovato, Greer and their group psychically summoned ETs to them. “The first big thing that happened was that we saw this really, really bright light. This blue orb kept floating in front of us just 20-30 feet away,” said Lovato. She even attempted to chase the source of the light but it kept moving further away.

• “I loved the conversation we had because… there were a couple books she (Lovato) mentioned and an app she mentioned that I immediately downloaded,” said Kesha. “I told my family, all I want for Christmas is for us all to meditate and try to channel extraterrestrials.” Following the podcast episode, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight Kesha said she now had a new hobby of trying to summon aliens. “I’m like trying to get all my friends and family into meditating the aliens to us. It’s my new hobby because of Demi Lovato.”

Kesha says she is now summoning aliens in her spare time following Demi Lovato’s appearance on her podcast, Kesha and the Creepies.

‘I loved the conversation we had because… there were a couple books she mentioned and an app she mentioned that I immediately downloaded,’ the TiK ToK singer said of their conversation.

                           Demi Lovato

‘I told my family, all I want for Christmas is for us all to meditate and try to channel extraterrestrials,’ Kesha continued.

Lovato appeared in an episode of the podcast in December, when the pair sat down to discuss her experiences of extraterrestrial sights.

She told Kesha that she has been in touch with Steven Greer, a US-based urologist who founded the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence.

Describing one of their encounters with an extraterrestrial blue orb, she said: ‘The first big thing that happened was that we saw this really really bright light. This blue orb kept floating in front of us just 20-30 feet away.’

Space Force Exists to Meet Threats in Space Domain

Article by David Vergun                                             January 22, 2021                                          (defense.gov)

• Speaking at a National Security Space Association “Space Time” online event on January 22nd, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Air Force General John E. Hyten characterized the US Space Force as ‘critical’ to national security, given the threats to US access and capability in space posed by Russia and China. Critical space assets include GPS; missile warning; reconnaissance; and position, navigation and timing.

• “Russia and China are building capabilities to challenge us in space because if they can challenge us in space, …they can challenge us as a nation,” Hyten said. “Therefore, it is our responsibility as leaders of the defense enterprise to make sure that we continue to educate the population about the threats that we face and, then put forth recommendations to deal with those threats in a rapid, responsive way” – with emphasis on agility and adaptability.

• Hyten notes that Russia and China are both building antisatellite weapons and other military space assets at an alarmingly fast rate. As a result, the Pentagon has to go just as quickly in defining joint requirements and delivering capable systems to counter the threat. And in doing so, “you have to accept a certain amount of risk”.

• Hyten says there is bipartisan support for the Space Force, and he expects the newest service, along with Space Command, to continue to make great strides in the new administration.

     General John E. Hyten

Threats by Russia and China to deny U.S. access and capability in space make the Space Force critical to national security, said the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Air Force Gen. John E. Hyten, spoke at an online National Security Space Association “Space Time” event today.

Critical space assets include GPS; missile warning; reconnaissance; and position, navigation and timing.

“Russia and China are building capabilities to challenge us in space because if they can challenge us in space, they understand as dependent as we are in space capabilities that they can challenge us as a nation,” Hyten said.

“Therefore, it is our responsibility as leaders of the defense enterprise to make sure that we continue to educate the population about the threats that we face and, then, put forth recommendations to deal with those threats in a rapid, responsive way,” he said.

In a time of conflict, DOD must deny adversaries access to space while maintaining its own freedom to maneuver in that domain, he mentioned.

UFO Shone ‘Fine Rays of Light’ onto Soviet City in 1977 Says Declassified CIA Report

Article by Harry Pettit                                          January 20, 2021                                         (thesun.co.uk)

• John Greenewald Jr., proprietor of the ‘The Black Vault’ website, a repository of over 2 million declassified government documents on UFOs, recently topped off his data collection with a final data dump from the CIA, which the CIA claims to be everything they have on UFOs. While many UFO (or ‘UAP’ – unidentified aerial phenomenon) claims may turn out to be tricks of the light or a faulty airplane instruments, a handful of them are real targets of investigations by the Pentagon.

• Within the pages of these declassified CIA documents is a bizarre story of a mysterious explosion in a small Russian town, which ripped off roofs, blew out windows, and left a 90ft-wide crater. Another file details a Bosnian fugitive who claimed to have made contact with aliens. While Britain’s secret UFO files were also opened up to the public recently, the British government acknowledges that they plan to keep one particular UFO dossier secret for another 50 years, to the chagrin of the UFO community. Last year, one researcher claimed that the discovery of alien life was not only “inevitable” but “imminent”. And a NASA scientist has admitted it’s entirely possible that aliens have already visited Earth – and we simply never noticed.

• One intriguing CIA report details a mysterious occurrence reported by multiple terrified townspeople of Petrozavodsk near the border of Finland in northeastern Russia in 1977. Witnesses described “very fine rays” raining down from the high-speed object, which appeared like a “huge star” over the town. The CIA file appears to be a copy of a story published at the time by Russia’s TASS news agency. According to the report, “On 20 September, at about 0400 a huge star suddenly flared up in the night sky, impulsively sending shafts of light to the Earth. The star moved slowly toward Petrozavodsk and spread out over it in the form of a medusa.” The light then “hung there, showering the city with a multitude of very fine rays which created an image of pouring rain.” After the rays ceased, the “medusa” turned into a bright semi-circle and moved in the direction of nearby Lake Onega. A semi-circular pool of bright light, “red in the middle and white at the sides”, then formed in a shroud of grey cloud on the lake’s horizon.

• According to citizen reports, the ordeal lasted between 10 and 12 minutes. The CIA document states that what caused the phenomenon “remains a riddle”. Russian weather experts reported having never seen anything like it, and that no “technical experiments” were being carried out at the time. “Many eyewitnesses” from various parts of the city reported sightings, meaning it was unlikely to be a mirage.

     image of ‘Petrozavodsk phenomenon’

DETAILS of a mysterious UFO that shined bright rays of light onto a Soviet city in the 1970s have emerged from a treasure trove of declassified CIA documents published online.

Multiple reports from terrified locals described “very fine rays” raining down from the high-speed object, which appeared like a “huge star” over Petrozavodsk in what is now western Russia.

Dated September 1977, the once top secret CIA file appears to be a copy of a story published at the time by Russia’s TASS news agency.

It was released earlier this month as part of a dossier of newly uncovered declassified records on “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” (UAPs).

Known as the “Black Vault”, the database is available thanks to a decades-long effort to access CIA records dating back as far as the 1970s.

According to one of hundreds of files in the vault, a peculiar UFO sighting above Petrozavodsk peaked the interest of agents almost 54 years  ago.

“On 20 September, at about 0400 a huge star suddenly flared up in the night sky, impulsively sending shafts of light to the Earth” the report reads.
“The star moved slowly toward Petrozavodsk and spread out over it in the form of a medusa.”

The light then “hung there, showering the city with a multitude of very fine rays which created an image of pouring rain.”

After the rays ceased, the “medusa” turned into a bright semi-circle and moved in the direction of nearby Lake Onega.

A semi-circular pool of bright light, “red in the middle and white at the sides”, then formed in a shroud of grey cloud on the lake’s horizon.

Mars 2020 Mission to Search for Extraterrestrial Life

Article by Joey Reams and Brian Day                                          January 20, 2021                                      (pasadenanow.com)

• At this moment, the Perseverance Mars rover (pictured above) is hurtling toward Mars, planning to touch down on the Red Planet on February 18th. The landing – part of NASA’s Mars 2020 mission – will signify the first planetary mission since Viking with an explicit objective to seek signs of life on another world.

• Ken Williford, the Director of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s ‘Astrobiogeochemistry Laboratory’ in Pasadena, California, and the deputy project scientist for the Mars mission, said, “Unlike Viking, which was concerned with seeking evidence of living or recently dead organisms, Mars 2020 will explore rocks deposited more than three billion years ago when Mars was broadly habitable and the earliest records of life on Earth were forming.”

• A primary goal of the Perseverance rover will be to drill and store Martian rock samples, which will be retrieved and brought back to Earth in a future mission for study on Earth. If successful, it would be the first time samples from another planet were returned to Earth. “By analyzing those samples, we’re interested in: How did Mars evolve as a planetary system? How do terrestrial planets — that is the ‘rocky’ planet like Earth, Mars, Venus and Mercury — like ours form?” Williford said. “We only are able to study rocks from Earth that we carefully select, but we want to expand that field to Mars.”

• Williford says he believes it isn’t a matter of if life will be discovered in space, but when. “I would say that it’s extremely likely in my view…that life is widespread in the universe,” he said. When it comes to the ability to detect the presence of ancient extraterrestrial life, ”I think Mars Sample Return is our best near-term opportunity to potentially make that discovery.”

• “[T]he conditions required to support life are almost certainly very broadly distributed in the universe,” says Williford. “We don’t know how many times life has emerged. I expect it’s many times. Then the question is: Has that ever happened independently in our solar system? [Have]…other locations in our solar system exchanged living organisms and sort of seeded one another?”

As the Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Perseverance Mars rover (pictured above) hurdles toward the Red Planet ahead of touching

           Ken Williford

down next month as part of NASA’s Mars 2020 mission, the mission’s deputy project scientist will be sharing his thoughts about the project and what it could mean for the search for life on another world.

Ken Williford, who also serves as Director of the JPL Astrobiogeochemistry Laboratory, is scheduled to host a free online lecture Thursday through the Pasadena Public Library.
The landing of Perseverance at Jezero crater on Feb. 18 will signify “the first planetary mission since Viking with an explicit objective to seek signs of life,” the library said in a written statement. “Unlike Viking, which was concerned with seeking evidence of living or recently dead organisms, Mars 2020 will explore rocks deposited more than three billion years ago when Mars was broadly habitable and the earliest records of life on Earth were forming.”

Among a host of scientific duties, a key goal of the Perseverance rover will be to drill, store and store samples of Martian rock, which will be retrieved and brought back to Earth in a future mission for study on Earth, Williford explained. If successful, it would be the first time samples from another planet were returned to Earth.

“By analyzing those samples, we’re interested in: How did Mars evolve as a planetary system? How do terrestrial planets — that is the Rocky planet like Earth, Mars, Venus and Mercury — like ours form?” he said. “We only are able to study rocks from Earth that we carefully select, but we want to expand that field to Mars.”

The larger-scale endeavor, including the return trip, is known as Mars Sample Return, or MSR.

In the decades since astronauts first returned rocks from the Moon for analysis, “They’ve really revolutionized the way we understand the moon, obviously, but also our own planet,” according to Williford.

George Carlin on UFOs, Aliens, Opioids, and Alcohol

Article by Duncan Phenix and George Knapp                                      January 19, 2021                                        (krqe.com)

• Comedian George Carlin was an avid reader whose often-scathing stand-up monologues skewered human frailties and social trends. Over the course of 20 years, Carlin often performed at venues in Las Vegas – so often that it became his part-time residence. In 2008, a week after one of these Las Vegas shows, Carlin died from heart failure.

• To keep his comedy material fresh and relevant, Carlin would constantly read articles and book on various subjects. On stage, Carlin often delved into the topic of UFOs and aliens as sort of a set-up to comment on the sad state of humanity. While he never took any public positions about extraterrestrials, he had an abiding interest in the topic.

• So it was only natural that Carlin would become acquainted with Las Vegas television personality and UFO researcher George Knapp. When in Vegas, Carlin and Knapp would have several occasions to confer on the topic UFOs. The two of them even exchanged tapes, books, and information about UFOs. Knapp met George Carlin in the mid-1980s when Knapp interviewed him for an evening newscast on KLAS-TV. “I chatted with him after the interview and then we stayed in touch,” says Knapp. “I would occasionally go to see him when he was in Las Vegas to perform. In 1990, I started sending him tapes of the UFO stories and the multi-part series I was producing. In return, he would generously send me stacks of VHS tapes of his comedy specials and performances. Over the years, I also sent him a few (UFO) books, …which he liked.” “When he came to town, I’d go to see him and chat in his dressing room about UFO-related stories. He was deeply interested and it was clear he read a lot about the mystery, though he didn’t really want to be known publicly as a UFO guy, so I kept that to myself.”

• Knapp’s final on-camera interview with Carlin came in 2004 and he spoke about his interest in what might await humans in the cosmos or in other dimensions. “Yeah, I read a lot of articles and I try to read the books and you know,” Carlin said during the 2004 interview at the Stardust Hotel and Casino. “It would surprise me as it would surprise you George. I know that you hold this sort of belief, I’ll call it. If this were the only thing that the universe stumbled into – this life of people we have here – whether it’s a god or whether it’s a some kind of organizing energy. …[T]here’s got to be a lot of stuff. And the ‘bubble’. I’m just wanting to see how that string theory works out in the bubble, the chains and what’s in there. And I mean, there’s no end to things you can imagine, and there’s bound to be some of them.”

• Carlin also talked to Knapp about being fired from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 2004 where he was a headliner, after an altercation with his audience. After a poorly received set filled with dark references to suicide bombings and beheadings, Carlin complained that he could not wait to get out of this “fucking hotel” and Las Vegas; he wanted to go back east, “where the real people are”. Carlin continued, “People who go to Las Vegas, you’ve got to question their fucking intellect to start with. Traveling hundreds and thousands of miles to essentially give your money to a large corporation is kind of fucking moronic. That’s what I’m always getting here is these kind of fucking people with very limited intellects.” When an audience member shouted, “Stop degrading us!” Carlin responded, “Thank you very much, whatever that was. I hope it was positive; if not, well, blow me.”

• Shortly after this incident Carlin was fired and almost immediately began treatment for alcohol and prescription painkiller addiction. Carlin was open with Knapp about his issues with opioids and alcohol, saying he began abusing opioids following a small surgery and was careful to keep his drinking in the shadows, saying he was a good functioning alcoholic.

      George Carlin with George Knapp

MYSTERY WIRE — Iconic comedian George Carlin was an avid reader whose often-scathing stand-up monologues skewered human frailties and social trends. One topic he sometimes mentioned onstage is alien life.

Carlin passed away in 2008 from heart failure. It happened just one week after performing another show in Las Vegas. Over the course of 20 years, Las Vegas was a town where Carlin lived part time and often performed.

During his time in Las Vegas, Carlin and Mystery Wire’s George Knapp talked several times, often delving into the topic of UFOs and aliens among other things such as politics and political correctness.

George Carlin used extraterrestrials a few times in his stand-up routines, sort of a set-up line to comment on the sad state of humanity, but he never took any public positions about UFOs or aliens.

Behind the scenes though, he had an abiding interest in the topics. The comedian and Knapp exchanged tapes, books, and information about UFOs.

“I met George Carlin in the mid 1980s. He came into KLAS and we interviewed him live in our studio for an evening newscast,” Knapp told Mystery Wire. “I chatted with him after the interview and then we stayed in touch. I would occasionally go to see him when he was in Las Vegas to perform (which was often.) In 1990, I started sending him tapes of the UFO stories and the multi-part series I was producing. In return, he would generously send me stacks of VHS tapes of his comedy specials and performances. Over the years, I also sent him a few books – UFO books and also books about strange and archaic words, which he liked. He would send autographed copies of books he had written. When he came to town, I’d go to see him and chat in his dressing room about UFO-related stories. He was deeply interested and it was clear he read a lot about the mystery, though he didn’t really want to be known publicly as a UFO guy, so I kept that to myself.”

Knapp’s final on-camera interview with Carlin came in 2004 and he spoke about his interest in what might await humans in the cosmos or in other dimensions.
